Hi Andre Fans,
Isn't this great? I'm glad to be able to write messages about Andre and the JSO here. Sally, our webmaster, has created a fantastic place for us to share stories with each other. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. I look forward to meeting you here, and I'm anxious to read your stories.
Hello Fans: I have no idea what BLOG means but am willing to learn! I like the security aspect, and I wish Sally much success with this new place for news of the JSO. Soon, we can speak about Grand Prairie and something else that is very exciting. Congrats to Sally.
Hi Ruth, it will be such a pleasure to meet you in Dallas. The fan dinner sounds like so much fun.
Hello Sally. Congrats on new site.
Rita
Good sunday morning.
Here I am, but not exactly sure where I am ! I know about as much on blogging as I know about how to win the lottery!
Shirley, you are where I are. That's w'are we be.
I am enjoying this new blog. Look for new postings on it this coming week.
Hello Moderators. I have added a "link" from under one of our graphics, from our new page. You can click the HTML tab above, to see the link.
Here is the link as we see it on the Moderator Page:

now go to the HTML to see it as pasted in the HTML window, and look below you will see the graphic
Shirley: You are a good "idea" person. How about starting a "Name that DVD" challenge for the Radio City Music Hall DVD. No prize to the winner--just lots of personal satisfaction. I think we can write our suggestions here. Okay, Sally?
"name that dvd" huh? interesting, I'd have to think on that one. bet some can come up with a good one
Oh happy day......BRAVO to Web master Sally for the brand new "toy". New experience for me and looks to be a ton of fun. Cheers from the new blog lady, Barb Wilson
DOES BLOG MEAN BE LOGICAL???
Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption.
Or in our case, intended for all of Andre Rieu's wonderful fans!
sorry to bother you all, but, ok i get "blog" but please..What's a moderator? I'm like "duh" here...what should we talk about or is there anything inparticular or what? HELP!
what fun! congratulations sally on another new and great addition to your site and for giving us all something to participate in that is very "alive" it seems!!!! the sun is shining here in long island...spring is coming...and now there is a blog...what could be better? lorraine
Hi Lorraine, glad you came in.Blog rhymes with fog, which is what we are gonna have, we got rain, turning colder, supposed to have snow tonite, tht's spring weather in Mo. i-yi-yi!
i yi-yi...shirley...you spelled it better than my uh yi yi...love it...the sun is getting brighter and better but to alay your jealousy (which knowing you i am sure there is not one iota of)...let me say we started out at 6am with snow...have a great day...this IS fun!!!
The sun is always shining ...i will remember that and pass it along...you always come up with the best sayings, ideas...thanks...can relate to your daffodil and "pretties" concern...an interesting tale...i have had pansies blooming since the autumn...two feet of snow did not stop them...cannot figure it out but i'm not complaining!!! also enjoyed your post on Enya and your daughter...you are blessed to have such a nice girl!!! lorraine
Sally - How exciting for you and Andre fans. Not sure I understand "blog"; but do understand we all enjoy Andre and Johann Strauss Orchestra. Look forward to seeing you and all in Dallas on the 24th!!!! Andrea
Hi andrea, are you the andrea Barfoot? If so i have neglected to tell you how much I enjoyed your article in "featured fans", was especiall impressed with Micheal's extensive music album collection. will you be bringing your grandson to the concert this year?
Thanks Sally, this is great!!!!!
Sally, just another thank you (again) for this fun blog thing.... i don't know how you do all this techie stuff...but thank you! lorraine
Hi Lorraine: The truth is, I don't know how I do it either. I just hit buttons and hope for the best.
Hi Sally & Lorraine.....I guess we'll all be ok as long as we don't hit "the panic button"
LOL Shirley, I surely love your sense of humor. (I use that Panic Button for Bay Area traffic as I drive to work)
Hi Sally,
I admire all you can do with computers but what is the difference between "talking" to each other here or in your guestbook?
I would like to know that also.
Gosh, so many things. Can you see how we can setup our responces directly to the post? In the Guestbook you cannot do that. Here you can get email notices of replies. Here we have Moderators to help with posts and articles. So many differences. And there is a difference for me. This is better for myself and all of us fans as there are better controls. I cannot explain all of the differences are there are too many.
Yes, once you figure it out it's a good thing, and I'm all for anything that makes things easier for you, Sally.I'll go wherever you put me!
Hey Bill and Lawrence. A really big cheer for you two....RAH RAH RAH, ZIS BOOM BAH! What a great addition to the site. Between the two of you and your stories/entries/blogs, the fans will no doubt have laughing pains. We are fortunate to have your talents, and thank you for your contributions. Barb Wilson, Tucson, AZ (Now I can say I'm a "blogger"
Barb, were you a cheerleader in school? haha Will we see you in Texas this year? hope so.
This is so great!
Thanks for getting it started.
Sally,
The AR bumper sticker is on Ebay.
Thanks for looking for me.
Wow, someone is selling AR bumper stickers on eBay? I didn't know that. (I don't really eBay, afraid I'll go eBroke!)lol.
If you look at the home page of : www.AndreRieuFans.com this week you will see that my car now has company and there are 2 plates that say: Rieu Fan !!
I'm going to make an AndreRieuFans.com bumper sticker, but use two sided tape to put it inside the back window. I love to share Andre with others and other share their Andre stories with me.
Isn't life great?
Where'd everybody go? Taking a Roman holiday? Can we talk here or do we just wait for a new subject to come up and discuss that only?
Hi Shirley! What a grand new day we are starting here. I'm still here, checking in from time to time. Taking care of my mother who is in the hospital going on week 3.
I really like this new venue for us to all post in.
WebMasterSally
"kitty cuddles"? r u kidding? haha. She's running thru the house as I speak! a flash of fur! ur mom still in hosp.? I hope she'll improve. I've "been there" tell her "hi " for us.She's in our thoughts & prayers.
I'm back. came here originally to post, but saw Sally's comment. But here's what I first came to say. It's Monday morning and as I'm doing the laundry, I ask myself"Why do I still do laundry on Mondays. Why do I still do the white load first"? Ever wonder why you do things a certain way? and never change? are we creatures of habit or what?My grandmother taught me to do things a certain way & after all these years I think "I can change, why haven't I? Am I the only one who does this? Maybe I'm just thinking too much today, guess I'll get back to my laundry!
Those lessons learned early stay with us don't they?
Hi Andrea! I am looking forward to seeing you again. I know we are going to have great fun and good times.
See you soon. ~
Hi again! I'm back! (they all say, oh no!)
Shirley: Please elucidate. You are back from where? And who would dare to say: oh, no. Wont you be here in about 2 weeks?
I meant I'm back on blog!but between "lost kitty", and getting caught in severe storm on freeway, and getting truck window broken out, and scraping & painting fence, and listening to tornado warnings, etc, I haven't been fit company! Had to come back here where it's calmer!
did you find Kitty? sorry about all the tornado mishaps...scraping and painting fence...now that's ambitious!!! take a day off...relax...listen to music....love you, lorraine
Hi lorraine, yes we did find Jazz.little varmit decided to check out neighborhood. We were fortunate to dodge all the tornadoes,I think they all went to Tennessee.
Poor Shirley. Yes, I was concerned about those tornadoes. I cant write since you have a new email, I think. If you still have mine, write me some time. Tickets are on the way! We may get ours before yours but will not give anything away, such as seat location. See you at LaQuinta which you discovered and is now THE place to be. Oh, to all, Denon Classics just sent me an email full of Andre Rieu recordings. Going back to see if I have everything.
I would like to see more people"adopt a page". There are so many cds or dvds to be reviewed and I know you all"out there"could help fill those blank spots.
Well, I think that problem might well be resolved
I love reading all the entries on this site. I was wondering how many Andre fans will be lucky enough to go to Maastricht this summer for the concerts there? Please, if you go, keep a diary to share with those of us who cannot be there!
I know of several who are going, WISH I WAS! but I'll bet there will be those who will share their stories and their pictures. I will look forward to it.
Hi Dear Fans!
I am so glad to be able to chat with other fans! Sally thanks so very much.
Sarah

Andre Rieu Returns With Two National PBS Specials: "The Homecoming" & "Christmas Around the World"
Unprecedented Airing of Two Specials in the Same December Pledge Drive Season North American Tour Begins in October
LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 01, 2006 -- North America's #1 PBS pledge drive performer and #1 chart-topping Billboard Classical artist Andre Rieu will have an unprecedented two national television specials released this season. In August PBS will air "THE HOMECOMING" as a featured musical program for the August Pledge Drive period. "THE HOMECOMING" is Andre's dramatic return to his hometown of Maastricht in southern Holland, which was filmed in front of 34,000 adoring fans in the famous open-air Vrijthof Square. PBS will also air "CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD" which will anchor the December Pledge Drive. Both productions will be aired in December on PBS stations nationwide and will released by DENON Classics on CD and DVD. "THE HOMECOMING" will be released on September 26 and "CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD" will be released on November 7. Rieu will kick off his annual winter tour of North America on October 21.
For Andre Rieu, a conductor, composer and musician who has performed concerts and taped specials around the world, "The Homecoming" represents a high point thus far in his career. In the summer of 2005, Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra performed four concerts for over 34,000 fans in the beautiful Vrijthoff Square in Maastricht, Holland. There was an extra special emotional energy to the performances as Rieu triumphantly returned to his hometown. Says Rieu: "We tour all over the world and it is great that we meet with success from America to Asia, but Maastricht is where I live -- this is my city. When you find yourself playing to your own public, well, it really has an effect!'
Also airing during the December pledge drive, is Rieu's "Christmas Around the World" special -- for Rieu and PBS, an unprecedented two specials airing nationally and concurrently. "Christmas Around the World" features Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra performing holiday classics accompanied by the wonderful Japanese Children's Choir.
Andre Rieu will kick off his annual winter tour of the US and Canada on October 21 (dates TBA). In addition, Rieu recently completed two more specials this July: "IN AMERICA" his first US-based special filmed at Radio City Music Hall and "LIVE AT THE SCHONBRUNN PALACE, VIENNA" -- possibly his grandest special to date filmed in the courtyard of the unbelievably romantic Schonbrunn Palace -- home of the waltz! Beginning in April 2007, Rieu will embark on his most extensive tour of North America visiting more than 40 cities.
In an age of dwindling exposure for classical music on television and sliding album sales, Andre Rieu's evolution in North America in the last
Andre will go down in history as the greatest classical conductor, composer and artist of our time in the 20th and 21 century. Wouldn't it be lovely to vision through a looking glass of the future in the 22/23 centuries just to observe what a difference he made with his music and his theory of more music in the world and less violence.
