I doubt that I could get tired of them because I never have. If I were to have a choice of songs that these singers would sing, these would probably be the ones because their voices carry these songs so well. They have great voices, and I appreciate their efforts in charity works and their uniformity...they are really together. I have to say that I probably will not listen to them that often, because their music is not unique to me, it doesn't calm me because of their tones, and their voices, which are loud and high, but I appreciate their efforts and music nonetheless.
"My Way", I used to hear Frank Sinatra sing this all the time, but never have I liked it was well as when I'm hearing Andre play his violin solo of this song. I picture Andre doing it his way, and loving every minute of it. Thank you Andre for always doing it your way!
"Godfather Waltz", so much more beautiful than the movie. I love it. "Music of the Night" You know, I never heard this song before Andre played it on this cd. I always wanted to, and my mother was always saying that this music from Phantom of the Opera was so beautiful. I do believe that I truly didn't know what I was missing! It's incredible. "Pie Jesu" Carla is her incredible self singing this song. Oh, to be born so pretty and with this voice! I cannot wait to get the dvd so that I can see her sing this song live.
"A Whiter Shade of Pale". How beautiful this is. When I hear songs like this I just want all to be perfect in life. I believe that if everyone could really hear these songs, there would be a whole lot more peace and happiness. "Torna A Surriento", of course we heard this at the concert last month, it was so beautiful and the Tenors sang it with all their heart as they always do. "Nun's Chorus", lyrics written by Marjorie. She is quite incredible don't you agree? She does have a way with lyrics, Please Don't Go, Solo Tu, Lost Heroes, etc. Hearing this with the lyrics now, is the first time I realized that this was the same "Nun's Chorus" I've been listening to all along. This is very special, I love surprises. There is such a spiritual feeling to this song. "Amigos Para Siempre" is wonderful. I love it too "Don't Cry For my Argentina" as she did at the concert, Suzan singing this is beyond words. It brings me to tears hearing this song, I do believe that there is no one who could do this as well as Suzan. Andre's solo of "America The Beautiful", if this doesn't bring you to tears nothing will. I really cannot wait to get this dvd, it must have been an incredible experience to be at this concert. I'm out of room.

In this part 2 there is a lot of English spoken and Chris Plewa, you are almost close up in the picture twice, dancing with Siggy and in the audience in Atlanta. Also an interview with Dan the bannerman outside the theatre. We learned a lot about the orchestra members we did not know before! So Frank Steijns fell in love with Sanne Mestrom! And Tanja and Roos (the female stage manager) are a lesbien couple. Jet and Ton are married for 3 years now, and Lin and Ruud are married, but that is what we knew. They all seem to have so much pleasure in playing and shopping together. And Andre...... He is looking so handsome and so relaxed in being a father for his "family". Pierre is adorable!!!!

Hi everyone, watched N.Y. Memories again today. This concert is so special, first of all because it is in our country and secondly because Andre gave it to us. The Nun's Chorus is just unbelievably beautiful and I love Celine's voice. When Andre plays "My Way" I get goosebumps (to tell you the truth those goosebumps are with me whenever I watch him) and of course America The Beautiful played by our Maestro is almost too much to take without tears. This concert is top notch by our Andre and just when I thought he couldn't get any better! There is not one thing I didn't like about N.Y. Memories. I just wish I had been there. Hugs
Thanks so much Sally for the info. on Jo. I must say I am absolutely amazed by his group. They sound so elegant. I went to the web site and even though it is in Dutch I was able to navigate around it. I love that type of singing. I will see if I can find a CD someplace. Hugs
This from Ineke. Part 2 on TROS of Andre in New York:
O my gosh, what a wonderful part 2 that was!!! Every Friday for half an hour on Dutch TV see www.sterren.nl

The following is a translation of info at JO H'a site...for those interested:
Dirigent Jo Huijts come from a very musical line from fathers and mothers side (Huijts - Ruijters), as a result of which he practised music actively already on young age. He graduated to the academy in the professions piano-solospel, chamber music - where its preference and specialisation went out to the cooperation with zangers -, song and chancel Executive Board. Moreover he was during 20 years organist to the h heart church in Heerlen. For this reason it is not astonishing that he acquired thereby a large affinity in the cooperation with corn and zangers. At a lot of limburgse (men) corn was he 1st or 2e dirigent, or speculator to the piano. He made a lot of radio prerecordings with corn and soloists. At limburgs symphony orchestra he was during 5 years pianorepetitor at muziekdramatische productions. Here he learned know also André Rieu with which he cooperated 18 years as a pianist and the world travelled around to stand on important podia. In this cooperation he acted tevens as an arranger and arranged a considerable part of the Strauss orchestra repertoire, which on a lot of Cd's it was fixed. Now, after a lot of years absent to have been in the limburgse amateur music world by its busy agenda on the professional podia, Jo Huijts delight themselves proceed itself there on its knowledge and experience of the previous period again to bring on the enthusiastic amateurs in the corn world.
Hi Pauline from Melbourne, Australia here.
For the Aussie fans I saw Andre on Ovation last night and DVD's & CD's can be purchased from their website at http://www.ovationchannel.com/ovation/main/index.php
Cheers
Pauline
Thanks for the info Pauline! That is what I love about this site. Fans sharing with Fans. Everyone is a part of our Family of Friends.
Terrific! All of the songs.
Here is one of my favorites, along with Nun's Choir....I Will Follow Him
I would rate the New York concert as the most impressive of Andre's somewhat recent performances. Both New York and the Schonbrunn palace DVD are outstanding.
Are there any AR&JSO fans in Denver, Colorado? If so, I would like to hear from you!! E-mail me.
Thanks.
I have just purchased tickets for my precious Mum and Dad for Andre Rieu's second Brisbane concert. Could someone please tell me roughly how long is the length of a concert of this type? I have some tricky transport arrangements to organize to drop my parents off and pick them up after the concert. I would appreciate any feedback regarding the time factor.
With thanks, Julie.
Julie, I'm not sure about this but most of Andre's concerts last about 2 1/2 -3 hours. that might give you a general idea.
I have been told by a friend who saw the concert in Toronto that it takes about 3 hours. I think Brisbane concerts start at 7pm so that would be a finishing time of about 10pm. Hope this helps
Julie, On the Suncorp Stadium website there is a press release from Sports Minister, Judy Spence relating to Andre's concerts, which says in part'Ms Spence said that, as with previous concerts, strict noise levels on the night will be enforced and the 10.30pm finishing time will be adhered to'. 10.30pm is probably allowing for the concert attendees to leave the site so a finishing time of 10pm would probably be fairly close to the mark. My husband and I are in the same boat with transport arrangements as we are not happy about travelling home by train late at night and taxis will be at a premium for sure.
Yes I think the concert will finish by 10pm, thats the reason for the 7pm start in Brisbane. Lyn why don't you consider staying in town and making a mini holiday of it. I live at Bethania (30kms) from the city, but we are staying in town. We are going to both concerts and staying in both nights. First day we are just going to wonder the city hoping to see some of the JSO wandering around the shops. Second day we are going to take a lunch cruise on the river (something you never seem to do in your home town). We are staying at the Abbey Hotel in Roma Street, which is about 5 minute walk to Suncorp and the Caxton Street eating precinct. You would need to book soon though as it is about the closest accommodation to Suncorp. I am paying $165 per night for self contained one bedroom unit with lounge room and balcony.
