DECEMBER 2006 GUESTBOOK

DECEMBER 2006 GUESTBOOK

December is a time of GOOD WILL toward all, of fellowship and love.  A time to reflect on the year about to pass.

Let us all be happy with the Wonderful Music shared with us this year.  Let us all be glad for the new friendships we have formed, the talks we have shared, the laughter.

This December may we all look back at our year and find the Blessings we have shared.

What is your Favorite Andre Rieu Christmas Song?

While I think of a song or two, I will share a few photos of my neighborhood.  Now, it's not like we are into Christmas or go all out on lights.....but join me as I stroll down Candy Cane & Lollipop Lane .....

Well, here it is December already! My favorite Andre Christmas song? Jingle Bells! Seriously, I came here to comment to Marianne(forgot it was a new month) but this will fit in I think.
Marianne, you are right about "a gift". To be able to communicate with others.
I believe the reason you feel JOY is because you GIVE joy. Don't you think we "reap what we sow"?
You are a "girl after my own heart", meaning , I love people too, feel much the same as you.
I have a feeling that whatever you do, you do it with love, and don't you agree, that is what most people are looking for?
Just to be accepted, acknowleged, affirmed. You do indeed have a gift! Joy To The World!

Nice pictures of your neighborhood Sally! Beautiful lights, I love all the lights of Christmas. We drive around every year to those wonderful neighborhoods who go all out in their decorations and lights. It's so much fun.

Some of the blessings I have this year are: Enjoying all you wonderful people on this site! You are all terrific and I appreciate all the information and news and the stories and "moments" whatever they may be.
I have thoroughly enjoyed another wonderful year of Andre Rieu. And, I look forward to the next year with anticipation of new concerts and whatever Andre has in store for us. I know he will make it beautiful and happy, whatever he chooses!
My favorite Christmas song of Andre Rieu? Has to be "Mary's Boy Child", then I would have to choose Silent Night and O, Holy Night, then ALL the rest...his violin solos are the best and touch my heart.

dear folks, Thank you Sally for the lovely pictures posted above, they are just great. Had a couple in Kelowna B.C
years ago who decorated inside & out & then opened their home for the benefit of anyone who cared to come & visit.
Don't think they do that anymore as that community has grown so much in the 10 years since I moved to Brooks &
they weren't young by any means so had to give it up. Still it is nice that people decorate their homes with lights
lawn displays etc to honor the Holiday
season. Think it is a way to says thanks for all we have in our society
Welcome to Lynn. & hope you will tell
us all what Andre & his music means to us all. I myself have been posting comments for about seven months & I really appreciate the new friends that
have come my way. Just watched Al Gore
& his program about global warming, &
it's scarier that the best horror movie
of all time which has to be the Birds
Alfred Hitchcock. Guess we all have to rethink how we should take care of our earth as it is the only that mankind has. If all the glaciers melt all our coastal cities will be drowned plus all
the scary weather, from hurricanes, tornadoes nor'easters etc sure mess up
our way of life & not just Canada & the U.S. It is world-wide. We've made a start but each of us as individuals have to see what we can do to lessen the pollution of c02 into the air, & then it gets into the oceans and messes up the living coral to the plankton that feed the whales, & any
creature that has to grow a shell, which they can't do as the oceans are getting too acidic. So I am going to try to use my car less as I'm close enough to the store that I can grocery shop without the use of the car. Also try to buy stuff without all the wasteful packaging. You get so much plastic to dispose of that the land fills are just overflowing so will try to think twice about what I purchase, &
also do a lot more recycling. We have a service here once a year to dispose of worn out computers, dvd players, paint, batteries etc, soif each one does a little bit it should help. If we
don't do something our world will be really messed up in the next 50 years,
& even though I personally won't be here I would like to leave a legacy of
a world that is viable for my grandkids
& great grandkids. It was a very sobering program. It is called "an
Inconvenient truth" Certainly we have the proof of melting glaciers, permafrost in the north, & weather that
has been absolutely crazy. Early winter
storms for one thing that are at least
a month earlier than usual. Hope you can all watch the dvd so you can see
what a mess we will have if we do nothing. On that note I will get off my soap-box and wish everyone Happy
    Holidays. Love Marianne

I have seen the movie that Al Gore narrated. I do all I can to help, but it's more than I can comprehend in how to do anything about it. I really do try, and I know that the average person does try as well. It's the powers that be who can do something, but money has a way of making them overlook what needs to be done. Their more concerned with when the next dollar bill will land in their bank accounts, rather than who is doing the polluting and poisoning the planet in a much larger scale than the average person realizes. It's like the GM people who stopped the electric car invention, because of money.
All we can do is the best we can do, and hope that those who can really make a difference, really does! If I had a choice I would have done something about it a long long time ago...when it would have done some good. Now...I'll get off my soapbox. Thanks Marianne, I'm so very sad what's happening to our planet, I feel like a little tiny ant on the planet earth, and whatever I do will never be enough to save her. We must keep trying though.

That's all we can do. We all have to try.

I wish the politicians who live in mansions, drive the biggest SUVs made, and travel in private jets using millions of gallons of fuel a year, would practice what they preach. (that means all of them doesn't it?)

And yes, each little thing helps. That's the cool part. Nothing is too small to do good.

Something as simple as saving our bottles and redeeming them. I drink a lot of bottled water. But cashing in the empties is more like a chore to me. So one of the ladies I work with and myself, bring our bags of bottles to work and on Monday, a homeless man picks them up. Now, homeless he may be, but he is no bum. He works for his money. Cleaning sidewalks, roads, driveways. Fixing up plants. Vacuuming. You name it and he is willing. So I save the empties and what is a hassle to me, is welcome by him. Saves the planet just a tad and helps another person. win win.

Hi All, especially Shirley and Lorraine for visiting my grandson's blog. He so appreciates the fact that he can reach more people than just the family to let them know some of the other side of the war. I just received an email from my son stating that the people in Duluth,MN are putting together numerous boxes of toys, etc. for the kids over there. They can pretend to be "Santas" to all those little kids. Jon really appreciates all the prayers that are being sent his way. Just got news that he may possibly be on his way home on March 24. Sure do hope so.

I have been out of the loop for awhile due to ill health, etc. and have just gotten on board to see all the wonderful things everyone has sent in.
The pictures are fantastic. Thanks to you all. Welcome to all the new friends. I havea framed card that I read all the time stating "Friends are the Family we choose for ourselves." Isn't that really true? It sure holds true for the Fans and Friends of Andre!

I, too, am praying for the recovery of those lost men on Mt.Hood. I haven't ever lived in the mountains, but spent the first 40 years of my life in MN, so I do know what snow, blizzards and white-outs can be like.

As for the favorite Christmas songs; I have been listening almost non-stop to the two Christmas CDs and especially love the first one, which reminds me of so many hymns we sang as children. I love the last two "The Holy City" and "Silent Night." Silent Night holds such memories for me as my father died on Christmas Eve many years ago when he was only 44. It took a lot of years for me to really enjoy Christmas Eve, but with all the children and grandchildren, I have been able to.

My very sincerest wishes are with all of you for a blessed and joyous Christmas and may those blessings follow you throughout the New Year!
Love and Hugs to all, Carol

will only appear is Edmonton on Ocober l3th/07 he is much earlier this coming year, so I expect he has many other commitments, maybe the trip to Mexico
He and the crew travel so much it is no wonder that he has found it necessary to cut back a bit, so will have to rely on my dvd's and the broadcasts from KSPS, our PBS station in Spokane,Wn. This is one of the few truly international sites that has been around for 40 years, & it is the one place you get really worthwhile programming. I like my soap operas, ABC
daytime but for the most part I watch
Ntnl Geographic of Discovery channel & the rest of the time I listen to a music channel, called m-trax & it is all instrumentals that are very listenable. Next is to do the Xmas greetings & then back to work on the accting books. Just now I'm listening to Andre Bocelli & he's a great tenor

Dear fans, Received my NY Memories today & quite enjoyed the whole program
Once again Andre has outdone himself The gospel choir was a different twist but still very good to see & listen to
Blending both choirs was a leap of faith but it worked!! If the audience
was any indication it seemed that they all enjoyed his presentation. To the matter of global warming, Al Gore was a guest on Oprah today & there are things we can do as individuals. Trade
    light bulbs for screw-in fluorescent
lamp, which will not only use less power, so less CO2 pollution, wrap the water heater in a special blanket so there is less heat loss, change furnace filters regularly & that will decrease the CO2 produced in the home by nearly 20% in a year, so we can do
something that will help. The rest is to re-use, recycle,& when you buy packaged goods look for the type of plastic that is bio-degradeable. If we do our part then soon the big polluters will have to take notice and then clean up their acts. Happy Holidays to all. Love Marianne

      Hi Joe:

I think we all miss the girls.  Each one of them added a special presence at Andre's concerts.

Carmen has not toured with Andre for a year now.  She continues to sing, in opera & plays.  Carmen told me she not only wants to sing, but to act as well.  She has such passion in her work I think she would be terrific at whatever she does.  She has performed in Brazil, her native land during this past year and continues to have work there.  She is also following a beau to Canada, seeking to perform there as well.  I hope American Theater and Film finds her talent and offers up jobs.  I think we would all enjoy to watch her grow and of course we want to continue to enjoy her beautiful voice.

Carla is such a playfully fun young woman.  And that voice!  I would love to see her re-sign with Andre but alas some things are not meant to be.  She remains in Europe for now, and the last I spoke with her, she had no firm plans (or maybe wanted to keep them close to her for now?).  I am certain with her talents she will not have a difficult time finding new ventures.

Suzan.  I've heard so many saying how she has a voice perfect for musicals and plays and that is just what she is doing!  Suzan made a beautiful Sisi for Andre's concert in Vienna and now she will be continuing that role on stage.  There is a play about Sisi, and Suzan will play the lead.

If you read the entire page, you will find the play at the lower portion.  It is only a short take on it, so as not to spoil it for those who will see it live.
We even had a Suzan as Sisi cake!

(I had heard of their final concert a while back, but they had wanted it kept private at that time, and I respected their wishes.  It is known now so I feel free to share  information at this time.)

You know, it's quite possible that sometime in the future, if one or either of them would have some free time, maybe, just maybe, they might at least be available to do a video with andre. Would not that be cool? And yes, from what i read in Andre's guestbook there are all kinds of offers to join his group, but he has a pretty hectic schedule, they better be ready to travel!!! And I hope you all have heard Celine's voice, hope he uses her often too.

I just read a posting on Andre's website where someone said that KSPS, Spokane is taking pledges and issuing tickets for Edmonton on October 13, 2007. That would mean that Andre will be doing a Western tour just a bit earlier next year than this year's tour. I've got to find out about tickets because as I did this year, I'd like to attend in Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg. Of course, the
concert will be entirely different next year with the sopranos gone. I'm hoping to read reports from attendees at the upcoming

A gift I would suggest for interesting reading would be this one,

"MANHATTAN - SEEDS OF THE BIG APPLE A Historical Fiction by Gloria Waldron Hukle is the heartfelt story of one immigrating family’s journey to colonial America, and especially their spiritual struggle with the meaning of cultural diversity long before it became an important expression of our time 300 years later.

Before the English named it New York, and before the Dutch called it New Amsterdam, it was known as Mahikan to the Algonquin, one of the Native American nations that occupied the area. It meant, “Island of the Rolling Hills.” After the colonists arrived, Mahikan became Manhattan.

In l655, lower Manhattan was a Dutch community of about 120 houses, its people protected by a fort and a log wall which served as a defense against Indian attacks. Today’s Wall Street traces the line of that planked divider.

Arriving from Holland on the ship Princess, Resolved Waldron, his wife Tennake, and their 3 children settled on New Amsterdam’s Block B at the tip of Manhattan Island.

Their immediate neighbors included Augustine Herrman, Pieter Schaefbanck, jailor, Hendrick Hendricksen, Domine (Clergy) Samuel Drisius, Dan Tourneur, Isaac de Forest, and Col. Phillip Pietersen Schuyler.

These early seeds sought personal liberties that ultimately lead to our Bill of Rights.

It is here at the crossing of Broadway and Wall Street and near present day ground zero where our story begins".........
I found this book on the Holland Ring website. For 20.00 it's a bargain!

Het Concertgebouw Kamerorkest (The Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra) (= CCO) was formed in 1957. From 1957 until 1984 it was called Amsterdamer Kammerorchester (Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra). In 1961, Marinus Voorberg became permanent Conductor, and with him the Orchestra made many Television and Radio recordings. Hi Lorraine, Ok, we can get the instructions ready for you in the meantime. When you get a new computer it must have a video input jack (usually an RCA type jack - you can ask the sales clerk about it) or you can buy a web cam with a video input jack on that. The video from your tapes will be going into the computer via the video input jack (or video input jack on web cam).
The CD you make will be a VCD (video CD) and should play on your computer and DVD player. It is not hard to do but you will need your VCR which you will use to play the tapes and a computer as described above. I will tell you how to hook it up and what cable you need.
Just let me know when you get your new computer and we will be ready to go. Once you know how to do it, you can get any VHS tape over to a VCD. I do that a lot because you never know when the tapes will tear.
    Take care Lorraine. Hugs

really outstanding. It's just amazing how many people get his message of peace & love so his mission is having a wave effect, so just maybe his efforts can make a better world. I know if I ever won a huge lottery what I would do after I take care of me & my family. I'd set up a way to build water systems throughout the African countries & see that they all get the anti-malarial medicine to wipe out that scourge. With the water system idea. it is quite simple. as without
clean water you have sick folks & sick folks can't work, & we all have a work
ethic that needs to be addressed. Sometimes wishes can come true. With my job here is Brooks, I have met so many people from most of the African
countries & it is just awful. some of the conditions they have to live with.
of course you can find people in our own cities that are down & out. They can work, but can't find affordable housing, & I firmly believe that when people get so far down in the dumps. they need a hand to rise from the ashes
More soap-box, but that is my nature. If I see a hurting unit, be it man woman child or pet. I want to fix the
problem, but I'm also aware that I can't fix everything, but I can try &
I do. sometimes it is a small thing like reaching an item from a top shelf that a handi-capped person can't reach or just holding a door for some-one loaded down with parcels. Don't quite know how I came to this conclusion but it works for me. You don't look for rewards, but they come in the most unusual ways, & it does make feel good

I just returned from Toronto and quicky want to tell all that next year Dec 15, (I assume there will be additional evenings scheduled, but for now they will only commit to Saturday
Dec 15, I asked one of the crew members and his answer was: "things with Andre can change in a heartbeat") there will be a spectacular Vienna evening in Toronto.
Andre will make the Toronto Rogers' stadium into a second Vienna. He talks about an iceskating rink and horse-drawn carriages. I spoke to Suzan (she had come to Toronto to see
Pierre) and she told me she will be there as will Carla, in their Viennese dresses. I am not sure about Carmen, but he may well try to bring her too. Suzan said it will be a great show
and one of the crew members I talked to said they will be working on the plans all year.
Tickets for this event go on sale Tomorrow Monday, December 18, and can be bought through ticketmaster. I think this promises to be a wonderful concert. (And no Harlem Gospel
Choir) Bela from the three tenors said they will be there also.

    ***************************************

I logged on to Ticketmaster and ordered my ticket and got a seat in row 12, left center, floor level.

The concert was great.  It was fun, and the crowd wasn't like the West Coast.  Funny how crowds differ.   BUT.. nothing wrong with being different, it makes us and the world turn.   Everyone had fun and a good time.

Of course, everyone crowded up near the stage near the end of the concert.

I remember that Shirley.  That Dallas crowd was FUN.  I think Andre enjoyed the concert as well as we fans did.  I do see a difference when the audience is lively, and Andre & JSO see it...well the whole show picks up.  It is wonderful.

I worried in Sacramento what Andre must have thought.  Too many people sitting down as if they had glue on their patooties.

It was nice when people got up to waltz, even it was only a few.  I will say those I went with and knew at the concert were all smiles and had a good time.

Something to say about any Andre Rieu concert is that man works to entertain everyone.  Andre gives it all he can.  The entire crew works 150%.

Hello all, I finally got the NY DVD yesterday and have watched it twice so far. I thought it was great, maybe my favorite. I thoroughly enjoyed the HGC and I loved watching Andre dance. He never ceases to amaze me! So much energy. I have never seen so much talent on one stage, and I did see Sally and Ruth with the banner. I recognized Dan the BM too. I just wanted to say that I think Andre is brilliant and anyone who thinks otherwise must be insane! I can't wait to see another concert live. It seems like a lot of the west coast areas have more subdued audiences, but maybe we can help them along. I can't sit still when I hear Andre and the multi-talented JSO.

    Merry Christmas, everyone.

I've ordered four tickets for Andre and the JSO concert in Edmonton next October by pledging on line to KSPS. Two of my cousins (We're more than relatives, we're close friends) will be coming from Kamloops British Columbia to attend. They've never been to a JSO concert, but they have 7 of Andre's DVDs, so you know that they're fans, and I know they'll love the concert.

I'm hearing that Portland, Seattle and Vancouver will be on that tour, but according to the KSPS website, Edmonton will be the only Alberta concert.

I'm trying to imagine where they will perform after Edmonton. Possibly Minneapolis/Saint Paul, but that's a two day drive.

When they drive from Vancouver to Edmonton they'll see different scenery in the Canadian Rockies as they'll take a different route than they've done in the past because they won't be going to Calgary.

Anyway, so far I've ordered tickets to two concerts. There's no telling how many others I'll be able to attend. I'll definitely keep an eye on the Toronto concert to see if they add extra days, which they probably will do, since it will be very expensive to produce. I check Ticketmaster daily. So far they're still selling the main floor, so from that it would appear the concert won't be a sellout until some time in January or February.

    Have a great Christmas, everyone.

Good day after Christmas everyone! Can hardly believe it's (Christmas) come and gone already. Each one is different, but somehow the same. This year different because I went with Maggie to see the African Children's Choir(the 19th). Those children put on a magnifcent, energetic & touching performance.Ages 7-10,beautiful smiling faces full of love and hope. I loved it. Then Christmas eve went to a special service called the Seven Candles of Christmas. Very beautiful. Each candle lit represented something different starting with the Man whose birth we celebrate, the gift of His love, to honor our children & families, our friends, the men & women in our armed services & their families, the less fortunate ones, the suffering and ill,.We pretty much covered all the bases. Then the rest of the time just spent with family & friends, and yes, plenty of music. Even a guitar with the young people gathered aound singing. Very nice, we enjoyed ourselves much. Now comes the part I always dread because, in a way, it's kind of sad, everything I put up, I gotta take down!! Wish we lived in a grand mansion & then I would just have one whole floor reserved for Christmas & I could close it off til next year.
This year I did my Andre Tree... pink roses, cream colored poinsettias, gold violins, pearl(not real) roping, gold balls & a ribbon I found with holly & music notes, cascading down two sides. and believe it or not, Jazz left everything alone! But she did like to lay under the tree. She was a good kitty. I like to do different themes , so who knows what next year will bring. My favorite is still the old-fashioned look, which I used when our daughter was small... nothing breakable, with popcorn garlands, lots of colored lights & homemade ornaments. We have a neice who does a tree in every room (they have 12), I'm not sure I would be up for that. Takes me about a week anymore just to get a tree up! But then I'm always glad I did, except, like now, I have to think about taking it down again! And, alas, I'll be joining the legions of dieters in the new year! I-yi-yi....
While I'm thinking about it... I want to wish for all of you the best year ever. And Sally, we remember you & your mom in our prayers.

Shirley, sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. I am so glad you did. Your tree sounds beautiful! That is a good idea to have different themes. I hate also to take everything down. It was much more fun putting it up. We must do it between rainy and cold days which will be coming on Sunday so we will take the outside lights down before the rain so they can dry out. I always waited until the feast of the Epiphany when we lived in Florida since we did not need to worry about bad weather, but it is surely different here in Pa. How old is Jazz? I just adore cats. We have three, Honi, Cotton (who is all white) and Patches (a calico). They are such wonderful company. Honi is 16, Cotton 13, and Patches 4. They are good kitties too.

Hi everyone - The DVD player arrived today. My husband read all the directions for hookup so tomorrow is the day to see if it works. Will let you know.
Wanted to tell you this earlier - do you remember the "exploding lotion" story? Well you will not believe this but around mid-December the lotion and the picture arrived! I was so shocked. I was sure it was lost forever and I received the replacement from the helpdesk. So I emailed them and told them I could use the lotion and will return the picture, so we worked out a deal that I send the art back to them and use the postage money to pay for the lotion. I told them I did not want to keep something that I did not pay for so it will work out ok. Isn't that crazy! I ordered those items in August. Take care and have a safe and very Happy New Year! Hugs

I just checked the Ticketmaster website where I see that tickets for the Toronto concert are not selling very fast. They're still offering main floor tickets. Today when I checked the best ticket was A3 row 28.

My best wishes for 2007 to you all. I have a friend that visits me from England, when she is here we always play Andre music and DVD's. When she found out he is coming to Orlando Florida on April 23rd next year she immediately booked a ticket her hotel room and a flight! She cannot wait, she is flying over for the concert. When she returned home this time and told everyone she was amazed that not one person has heard of him. So is there anyone in England on this list? She is convinced that she is the only person who knows about Andre!
    Regards,Wendy

Hello Wendy & welcome. I have only heard of a Maurice 7 Marion Bailey from England & I believe there is a Bob listed in the fanlisting. but I have to say, that in Andre's guestbook, your friend will find many from England just begging Andre to come back there. The Royal Albert Hall is one of my favorite dvds.

Hi Wendy: How wonderful your friend can come to visit and see Andre in concert too!  What a great time that will be for both of you.

There are many people from the UK who peek in on the site.  I know they are all wishing for Andre to return to England for more concerts.  I think soon he will need to clone himself!  Ireland wants him back and the Aussies are planning to hear him soon.

Hi Wendy - Welcome to the site. I am sure also that there are many Andre fans in England. Just looking at the Royal Albert Hall DVD (which I love) I could see the people having a wonderful time. My very best wishes for a Happy New Year full of good health and happiness!
Hey Al, how come today the best ticket is in Section A-3 and the best I could get was B-4 a week ago?? Could it be a cancellation?
The DVD player works great!! Watched "Croisiere Romantique" (the French counterpart of "Walzertraum")and it was wonderful. Just to see Andre doing the clog dance was well worth it. I don't know how many of you have the DVD but wasn't it beautiful watching Andre dancing while playing "My Love Song Should Be a Waltz"! Now I need to look for more PAL DVD's. I think I have them all though but not sure. I saw on Amazon.de that there is a no. 2 DVD of Romantic Paradise which seemed to have different songs but could not find a way to buy it. I must do more research. Also, Polydor.de may have some but it is hard to buy sometimes because the sites seem so strange in a foreign language. Love and hugs

saying goodbye to 2006..... Well this is the ending of 2006. Tonight we'll be hearing, once again, that AULD LANG SYNE. It was always a Guy Lombardo listening tradition.
I've read the words to the Robt. Burns poem, but can never seem to remember them all, but it's the melody that I like. I can just hear Manoe playing her bagpipes now! By the way, do you know that the Dutch soccer song is based on this melody also? " Wij houden van Oranje"?

Yes, bye to 2006. There are things I'm changing in the year coming up, things that I've done all year, that I don't want to do this next year. I don't know what the next year is going to bring of course, but I have my new choices and dreams to help

I have always loved that melody also, but it's always been a kind of sad song for me. I, like you Shirley, can't seem to remember the words, so I printed them out...hopefully I will actually get them memorized someday
      See you all next year!

dear Friends Last day of the old year &
I just can't believe how quickly it has gone by. My family & I are all fine
no serious health problems except for me. Have an anerysm in aorta which will require surgery to patch same, so in the meantime I'm living with a time-bomb. Have to lose 25 pounds, quit the
smokes so as to give the surgeon a fair shake that I won't die on the table. I'll know in Feb what is going to be done, so this time I shall try not to fret too much. Still don't seem to be able to restore the music on Andre's website but I have quite a few cds & dvds which I really enjoy. Also get to hear him & the orchestra on a couple of music stations on the digital
channels. Can do the accting with it as background. Always did my school work with a record player going as it was a help for the concentration. We've all had many blessings throughout the year & I hope everyone
has a Happy healthy 2007. Think Auld Lang Syne is pretty much a standard in the western world. It's been around as long as greensleeves. sometime in the 1600's written by Robbbie Burns. who was somewhat of a man who really liked his scotch whiskey. In my small town of Hedley we always had a "Burns supper",
the high point being the piping in of the haggis. It's pretty bland but I have tried it, but I wouldn't like to have it as a steady diet. Tried limburger cheese & I kind of like that but prefer Danish blue. Don't mind trying different foods but do not care for anything with curry or very hot spicy foods. Like Spanish but fibd Mexican just too hot. Like sushi butfind the wantanabee sauce a bit eye
watering. First tried it in S.F , & I really like Japanese restaurants with the performing chefs. Sit on the floor & watch them prepare your meal is a lot of fun. Brooks is a collection of many different cultures so we have a real variety of eating establishments.
Back on my soap-box. The conservastion people have put the polar bears on the endangered list & I do believe a species of mountain caribou will be next. There are small herds in the rockies from central B.C to Mexico & because of the advance of civilization
roads, dams etc their migration routes
are cut off so you have small groups,
in-breeding & that's not good. Then there is the poaching & not enough game patrols to catch the perpetrators.
Ay least some big outfits are beginning to listen. I just hope that it will be in time as 50 years is not so far away & we only have one planet
where we live. As individuals we can do some things but the big push will have to come from gov't & big corp. Think it is time for a big clean-up.
So on that note I will wish everyone a
    Happy New Year. Love Marianne

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! ! ! and thank all of you for your wonderful and entertaining entries. To Jeanine Ann....you really got me going on the all-region DVD player, NTSC/PAL. So glad it is working well and you are happy with it. I am going to order the same set today from Amazon so I can enjoy the PAL DVDs. We celebrated NYeve with a double scoop of Mocha Almond Fudge ice cream. If I had but one food it would be ice cream......any kind, any flavour. Today's "hangover" is a bigger hip but not a bigger headache.)) Sally...is it possible (without tearing apart your site) to put the city with the name of fans when they submit an entry. Try as I may, I can't remember where you all live. Don't want to go wishing Kati a happy sunny day when she is 30" in snow. ) And of course I know Potstirrer Bill in just up the road apiece. Or an alternative to adjusting the site, we could all put our location as we send entries. I'm thinking of an Adopt a Page for our pets. I see some of us already have pics. What say you? OK w/ you Sally? Hugs to everyone, Barb Wilson, Tucson, AZ. PS We had a few snow flakes last week.

What a terrific idea for a page Barbara.  Isn't it interesting how so many, I think the majority of AndreRieuFans are Animal Lovers too?

*can't do the location to the Blog.  It doesn't have an area to separate that out. .  I could on the website, but I disabled that to use this format.  Guess people could put that in after their names and select "remember me" so they would not have to add their location each post, but that's about all I can come up with.

Yummmm to the Ice Cream, but today is my last day of being bad.  I am going to be HEALTHY in the New Year.  (or so I think...oh now I have Ice Cream on the Brain, and lips, and hips.. )
