Home in Hungary
I did it My way!
I left for Hungary 3 weeks ago, taking along
the most beautiful DVDs of Andre's
New York, Schonbrunn, Romance, & Dreaming.
I needed a player also, because some of the dvds are in PAL. I do have some in both system. So I collected a group of people, to show what They are missing.
I keep talking about JSO everywhere I go. I have to say it was a biggest trill for me, like I would know all the members personally, felt like I was part of Their group. Only I wish. I always wanted to play a musical instrument, never had a chance.
This is one way to show my appreciation of their hard work, the love of the music, many of them coming from Hungarian composers, make me very proud, and I will keep doing this, as long as I am able to. I really would love to teach everybody to dance csardas. Maybe me and Bela could show?? Just kidding Bela.

Nice to have you back Kati!
It looks like you had a wonderful trip. I enjoyed the pictures of your beautiful Hungary and the incredible buildings there. Thanks for sharing your story and trip with us, it was very enjoyable!
Hi Marlene, being in the US for such a long time, I always just was very homesick at Christmas time. I do have much more! Kati
Kati, beautiful town, I missed the name, am I blind? the wonderful buildings, I saw a few beauties in Budapest, too. Are you not homesick? I will always stay homesick for my home town. Thanks for the pictures and all the history, you must have been in heaven.
Hi Kati, I would love to see you dance the csardas with Bela!
Shirley, one of those days I will. I am sure Bela is a good dancer, I see His moves while singing the hungarian csardases! Kati
I, too, am wondering how to pronounce the name. And it looks like you correctly spelled it, with all the accent marks. Congrats!
Thank you, Kati, for sharing the photos, your story, & the descriptions.
Who knows, the day may be just around the corner, later this month, you may have the opportunity to dance the csardas with Belá.
Belá, watch out for Kati, she has snowballs & knows how to throw them.
Bill in Arizona
Bill, I love Your remarks, yes, Shirley did great with this very hard language! No snow yet thou! Bela is married, We have to be polite enough to ask His beautiful Wife/ I have seen a picture of Her/ if She would let Us dance. I would love to do it, with some of or all the Fans, but a Waltz would do it also!? I will be at the concert on Oct. 21st, just hoping for beautiful music and a good time. Kati
If anyone gets HUNGRY , I suggest eating TURKEY , without GREECE .
Be careful not to break any CHINA
Bill, I love the humor of Your's, there is a little spelling error, but it was for a purpose, I just still do not like the chartreuse colo, but knowing, that is Your favoritre, let it be. Kati
Oh Kati, I will have to go back many times to read and see all your pictures. What a beautiful place you came from. And I especially enjoyed your taking André to Hungary with you. Talk about "ambassador"!
I think I made Sally busy, much more pictures to come. I hope She got them all. Ihave special ones of Budapest, also some from Austria, from the West side. I will check with Her. Kati
Welcome Home, Kati
Your trip sounds fantastic! These are some of the most beautiful pictures I have seen. You did such a great job on this page. I think Bela would be thrilled with your pictures too! I hope he gets to see them. I am sure he would love to dance csardas with you!
Marilyn B
He was born on the very West part of the Country, I am about 70 miles south from the Capital City, Budapest. Between the two largest rivers, the Danube and the other called Tisza. I also sent some pictures of the City I was studying, very beautiful, the fourth largest city in the Country. I hope Sally got them and some time later will have time to put them up. It is another hard but at least short name SZEGED. Kati
WOW wonderful trip Kati. I am so glad to have you back but I am glad you got to go and have this beautiful time. Thanks for the lovely photos. Love U
Oh Kati I was just blown away by those beautiful photos. (I only now saw the link above, duh?) They are absolutely gorgeous. I just love them. I will study them for a long time. Thank You.
Hugs
I am very happy to share! Next year comes Holland for me, it is equaly beautiful! Kati
It's good to have you back, Kati, and thank you for the wonderful pictures. You did such a great job in describing the history of what was going on. I must say that the buildings are so magnificent and beautiful, and the architecture is amazing. Thank so much for sharing. It must have been a lot of work. Bela seems like a guy who likes to have a lot of fun and I'm sure he would love to do csardas with you
Marilyn, We would have to ask His Wife first! Yes, there is a lots of history all over Europe, lot to see, I love all Architectures, and different cultures. I was a Geography teacher. The buildings last forever, because they were built out of bricks. Modern World is a different story, They do not build things the same anymore! Kati
Kati, Your photographs are so fantastic. The architecture, statues, bicycles and people are really conveying the idea of true Hungarian life/real time!
You are right! You have alot to be proud of. Hungary has given the world alot of wonderful composers, and musicians. Biber, one of the most innovative baroque violinists was Hungarian. I'm sure you could teach us alot about your country...and about Austria also!
I love all the bicycles that are in so many photographs ...indicating that the Hungarians make good use of the one of the best modes of travel! Would love to see your videos! Maybe some day. Thank you so much for beautiful photographs and for taking me to Hungary via friendship and the internet! Can't wait to see more. BTW, Kati, you look very good!!!! I can see that your bicycling in Coloradothis summer paid off! I have to put my batteries in if I'm going to sit in the passenger seat one day! Gotta get in shape myself! Thanks again for a great photo treat. Love, L
The transportation all over europe is much different than in the USA. One very important thing to know, everything is much closer, so easier to have Streetcars, Trams, or well built out Railway system. This is why, You do not even need a Car! Naturally, makes life easier, no schedule to keep, come and go as You please. Kati
Hi Kati,
I just loved your photos and reading about the history of your home town. Thankyou for sharing it with us.
When I started here (last week) as a new Andre fan I saw your name and thought you were Hungarian. I am Hungarian too! I was born in Australia but my parents were born in Hungary. My mum was born in Papa and my dad is from a little village called Sorkikalpolna.
I was going to ask you last week if you were Hungarian, and then to my surprise, I saw your photos yesterday which answered my question. I called mum and she came over to look at them too!
We have told our relatives in Hungary about Andre but none of them had heard about him! Well, we will fix that and you have already started!
It truly is a small world. In one week I have a connection with 2 people already! How amazing is that. It really is exciting.
I am hoping to go to Hungary next year and take my son to meet his relatives! (and take some Andre DVD's!)
Thanks again!
All the best,
Gabi
This is really wonderful Gabi! I have been in PAPA, never heard of Your Father's place. It is a beautiful small Country, people are very friendly, lots of them now speak English. In the past We had to study Russian. Lot to see, there is a lots of History as well. I am in the USA since 36 years, studied in Hungary, became a High School teacher in Biology and Geography. I love to go places, learn the Hystory of it all, I do plan to go about once a year, have relatives there. My hometown is KISKUNFELEGYHAZA, between the two largest rivers the Danube and the Tisza, South from Budapest. I love Andre's music, I had a chance to see two of His VHS's just the first time, since they come out just in the PAL system. He plays a lots of Hungarian Operettas, everybody knows them in Hungary, I talk of Him all the time at home. I am sure, lots of them knows Him, I read His site, where a Dr. wrote in German, attending His concert in Schonbrunn, with all His Family and thanking Andre for the beautiful night. That is my next plan, to see and hear Him in Holland and in Austria next year, if He still will have a summer concert there. Put Your E-mail address on for me, katalin_kri@msn.com could send You much more information if You like. The World is very small! Kati
Hello Dear Fans & Friends: Kati has sent many more photos to add to her Hungary page, I'll be putting them up soon. Watch for them! They are fantastic!
