Become A Denon André Rieu Ambassador
Hello Dear Fans & Friends:
Denon is still looking for more sign ups for Denon's Andre Rieu Ambassadors. So far we have over 200 signed up, but Denon is looking to have around 500. Let's all show our Andre Rieu spirit and step up to assist our Maestro, his American Record Label (Denon) and help those fans who need to have an easy way to order Andre's works.
Here is a bit of history on how I came to be the first Denon Andre Rieu Ambassador. I was contacted by Denon. Joe and I were in communication and as this is a good thing for Andre, Denon & the Fans, I agreed to assist. After this, other fans were able to sign up and help out.

Hi Sally,
I work for the Record label in the US for Andre. I was wondering if we can
partner up on for some promotional opportunities.
I would make sure that you are given advance previews of Andre materials to
talk up on your site.
First order, We are looking to create a national Andre fan club street team.
We made wonderful catalogs and we are looking for roughly 200 fans who will
be attending upcoming Andre performances. We would love to send them each
200 fliers for them to distribute to other fans at Andre events.
We are also hoping to send you some photos of his most current recording
with a buy link to Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
In the meantime, please let me know if you are missing and of Andre's Denon
recordings or videos and I would be happy to send them to you.
Please let me know if we can set up some promotions through your site.
We think the next year will be crucial for developing Andre to the next
level and would welcome your support.

I think this is a great idea. What fan doesn't like to talk about André Rieu? This is a way to help people know more about his music and where to find it. We all want to promote André any way we can, this is just another way to do it. When I first saw, on PBS, Live In Dublin, I went out looking to find it in our stores here. I could not find a copy anywhere, in fact the store would say "André who"?. They couldn't even special order it for me. Then a young friend told me to see if he had a web site, which I found, and that is where I ordered my first dvd. I do live in a small town & I must not be the only one
Shirley, you are right. Something I have thought of is this...I wonder about those who are 'people persons' such as yourself. To have some of these catalogs is a great way to introduce yourself to people and of course, help Maestro at the same time.
Even outside of concerts, it is good to be able to hand out some of these catalogs.
With all the trouble in our world, we NEED this beauty in our lives.
Sally, you know, that's a good idea. I wouldn't mind having a few of those catalogs to give people. Wish I'd had some in the past, like when I gave an "extra" dvd to our new neighbors, who'd never heard of André & were delighted BTW, or when some nice people saw my bumper sticker and commented on it & said they like André to, but they didn't even know he had given a concert in KC or that he had a web site. A catalog would have been a great thing to have then, or when I went to a senior center lunch with my sister one day & was showing her my billfold & the other ladies said "who is André Rieu"? and my sister said, "oh he's that Dutch guy she loves"! Well, I can tell you, all the ears perked up on that remark as I'm a married lady. Well I sat them straight on that, but I told them all about him & how to find his music. A catalog would have been good then too. See, you never know who you're gonna run into so you better be ready!
Hi Shirley, and Sally! This is a working woman speaking, I mean working!! I had to go and help 4 hours Today!! Do You know it is a Saturday??? I am just kidding, I just have to help out, and that is it. get paid, but I lost some of my freedom!! Morning hours, not bad, and I do love my Brother! You people, have no idea, what a trill is to be an Ambassador. When you meet some of these older Ladies, and They love the music, do not know a thing about Computer, but Their Grandchildren do, or Sons and Daughters,and They do want the E-mail address, and much more. It did really made my day! Like an icing on a cake! I lowe to help people anyway, so it does come easy for me. Sometimes,when I ride my Bike, and They are walking, I always say hi, how you doing, have a nice day! I think, maybe I was the only one that day, they did talk to. Just make my day!!I wish all people, around us, would think the same way Andre and JSO think, make music, instead of war,or just be nice to each other!! Is this so hard?? Kati
This is what we are helping other people with ... seeing, heaing, enjoying, the Music of André Rieu.
I, for one, am eagerly looking for my OFFICIAL ANDRE AMBASSADOR button & the catalogs to distribute at the upcoming Phoenix AZ concert on 8 Dec.
In addition to the catalogs, I will again be distributing slips of paper containing the URL for Andre's, & Sally's website.
And my full color photo Tshirt with JSO members will have a couple of new photos that I took at the 2006 concert.
Who knows, I may even have some Andre bumper stickers to distribute, free of charge, of course. I still feel Andre is missing a good bet by not having bumper stickers to sell at concerts, an idea I've previously expressed.

You are right Bill, I too cannot wait for my Ambassador button, etc. for Toronto. I am going to hand out the slips of paper with Sally's web site also. I love the idea of distributing bumper stickers too.
What an exciting time this is. Just won a rare Andre and MSO LP record on Ebay. It is coming from Maastricht and it states that "100% of our profit will be used to do good in our local environment, Sincerely Liesbeth & Rome". Missed the LP which had "Meditation" but it went a little too high for me. Besides, I am going for bigger fish - will explain later. Hugs to all

Hi, all!! It's a little off-topic BUT I wanted you all to know I made it home SAFELY from abt 3 weeks in Las Vegas--where Andre and the JSO will be the first week of December. UNFORTUNATELY, I WILL NOT be able to go BACK to LV then, so I have a question: Is there any way for those of us WHO AREN'T near a concert "venue" to be Denon Ambassadors, too? I know, when I wear an "Andre" t-shirt that was "specially made" for me, that I get all kinds of responses from it. Do you think Denon would mind IF we passed out their catalogs while traveling around our home towns? I'd love to hear all of your opinions abt this, esp. YOU, dear Sally? What do you say? Cheers!!!! Hi Ellen, so good to hear from you. I am so sorry you cannot get back to LV when Andre is there. How far away do you live from Vegas? As far as your question regarding the Ambassadors, I only know what Denon says but I will let Sally answer your question because I don't know how strict they are. I certainly hope you can. Hi Ellen, I'm glad you made it back home safely. Sounds like you & I are kind of in the same boat as far as concerts are concerned. It would be nice to have the catalogs, but hey, I figure I can write the Denon web site on a piece of paper & give as much information as I can. If we can't be "official" then we can be "unofficial"ambassadors as that's what we are anyway.

I did have quite a few conversations riding public transport in Portland. I love the light rail there, and took it from the airport to hotel, then just rode it and the buses around town for a while. And Andre is always a good conversation starter.
Hi everyone. I told this story a long time ago, but here goes again...
I was stopped at a light when someone ran into me. I pulled into the nearest parking lot and the gal followed me in. I got out and checked to see if there was damage, and there wasn't enough to complain about...she said "Who's André Rieu?"
I have a license plate cover which says: "I'd rather be listening to André Rieu" and she was reading it which was why she ran into me. I didn't have the catalogs at the time, of course, but it would have been nice to have them. I gave her a printed article on André that I carry with me, just in case. We hugged and she went away happy, and so did I.
I think that it would be nice to carry some catalogs wherever we go...just in case...you never know when you might run into someone who needs them...or...someone might run into you.

I am glad you were not injured and all turned out well.
I went to the Denon site and found out you can download the full catalog of Andre's music, which I did.It's in a pdf format, which you can save, and as soon as I get some color ink replacement cartridge for my printer, I plan on printing out a few copies to carry with me. I can replace them as needed. With Christmas around the corner I'm going to be pushing the Christmas cds & dvds. I'd especially like everybody to hear Andre's version of Jingle Bells. I love all the Christmas music but this one is so different.Anyway, if anyone wants to try the download & print it, let me know how it looks. I think it will be nice and it has all the pertinent information on it. Happy listening!
Shirley, what a great idea. I had feed back from some of the people in Portland, that they were glad to have a toll free number. It was a help to them.

I signed up for Toronto too and Baltimore, does anyone know how long it takes to receive your material or will they send it up to the time of the show we'll be attending? Should I jut be patient??? Also, fyi I just turned another friend on to Andre with the Vienna DVD. Now she has locked on to Amazon.com and have orderd quite a number of the dvds and cds. After the Vienna dvd she found two AR cds in the library. I'm talking him up even at church which so far I have turned on 5 families.
Hi Martha, good for you. You are really working for Andre. I don't know about the Ambassadors for Toronto. Someone said we would not be giving out the material there because it is outside the U.S. I am hoping Sally can find out for us. There will be a lot of fans there from America. aaagggghhhhhhhh....I just noticed the Barnes & Noble catalog has mis-spelled André's name. Look for yourself, the accent mark is missing.

Bill, that is not a mis-spelling. It is custom and accepted that your name is spelled without accents here in America. I think the judge would dismiss the ticket!
