Happy November!!!!! We in Australia hope to hear something soon of the tour for 2008. tickets are supposed to go on sale this month. Not long to wait now!!
Hi Margaret
Happy November to everyone. I am also waiting impatiently for ticket sales in Australia - can't wait. Am now going in to Andre's website to purchase the new Wonderland DVD if there are still some left.
Thanks for the wonderful site Sally it's a great tribute to the Maestro. I would love to have one of his cravat/tie pins, just love them.
Cheers from Melbourne
Pauline
Hi Pauline,
I just came off Andre's official website and it states that the tickets are going on sale in 4 weeks for the Australian concert.
Keep Smiling from Terrigal.
This Month's Video Vault: Shostakovich' Second Waltz
And What Better Tribute is there....
Great tribute indeed. Is this like a high school band, or maybe even the Josti Band?
HEY EVERYONE! go to andre rieu's offical site andre rieu in wonderland came out it is a wonderfull cd!
I am so excited! I hope he will be making an efling dvd
-jeff
Hi Jeff, thanks for writing. Saw the Wonderland CD and it is ordered already, in fact two of them, one for a gift. The DVD of Wonderland will be out (as we have been told) on November 24. So keep looking for that. Have a great day. Hugs
Thanks for this information Jeff. I was able to order very early this AM. I listened to the snippets of music as well. It sounds like another winner! New Beautiful Music is heading our way. J
Happy Nov. everyone. Here is some news.
André's Wonderland CD can now be purchased on his website ! The DVD is not for sale yet, tho. Can't wait for that !
Marianne and Marlene. I enjoyed your discussion of Thumper's mother's saying: If you can't say something nice ............ That is good advice to follow. But sometimes we humans do slip as hard as we try not to. I loved
Bambi and Thumper. In fact, my father's nickname for me as little kid was Thumper. Have a good day.
Thank you Marilyn! Glad it is on the site. Cannot wait either for the DVD. I had just ordered the CD from Amazon.de in Germany about two days ago. Oh well, I can always get another and use it as a gift. Happy November to all. Hugs
Thanks Marilyn: I ordered it this am. Now I am happy to think about it until it arrives and then straight into the player it goes!
applause for videos
Dear friends. What a way to begin a new month!! It's early for me 9A.M. but it is most appreciated. Just a small question? The second waltz was in both the last two videos, & I wondered if the 2nd rendition was when Andre's orchestra hadn't yet grown to the size it is to-day. Both are excellant to hear
& the comparison of the two orchestras
loses nothing in comparison although they were at different times in his career. It is a great way to begin a month!! Thanks Sally for bringing the music to all of us. Love Marianne
Hi Marianne, Happy November to you. The Second Waltz in the second of the two was not played by Andre's JSO, I think it was a tribute to him. Did you notice the large picture of him in back of the orchestra. That is all I know. I don't know who the tribute was from but I am sure Sally will tell us.
We took Cotton to the vet this afternoon and she is doing good. Her Creatine level was just elevated a little bit from 2.9 to 3.2 but the doctor is classifying her as holding steady so that is good news to us. We really didn't want any more bad news after hearing about Honi. Honi is holding steady also. The tumors are bleeding but we can control that and she is in no pain. Only if they would bleed too much or burst then we must intervene. She is quite comfortable and we keep blankets where she lays and we have held off with our new carpet mostly because of this. It is the original carpet and really needs replaced. Most of the rooms are the wood look floor. Take care everyone. Hugs
Cotton & Honi are both in my prayers. (as are their Mommy & Daddy) Animals could teach us all about Love.
Hi, I am happy to hear that Cotton is holding her own. I am going through a similar situation. Samson (19) has a heart problem, and in the last three months completely lost his sight. The vet has come to the house twice and we have him on medication. I don't think he hurts but the poor cat is so confused by suddenly not being able to see. At his age it's only a matter of time but he eats relatively well so there's really nothing to be done except give him lots of love. I have two others, 13 and 2. Are you going to Toronto? I lose track and have been so busy have barely had time to look at the sites. I know there is a dinner on Sat. but I am only going to be there Fri. I haven't seen anything about that so am going to post that I will be willing to handle reservations if anyone wants to get together before the concert - probably at the Renaissance. We are about to get a Northeaster here, the trees are blowing and the rain is about to start.
Dear Samson will be added to Monster, Timmi & My Prayers.
hi virginia i was just reading your wntry and i saw taht you said that you were having a northeaster wel, i am in the northeast i bet ur the closest andre rieu fan member that i have seen on this website. All ways nice to fine a new face close to where i live!
thanks

Hi Jeff: The storm was nothing much. I was born in Maine, worked in NYC for 30 years and moved back to Portland, Maine in 2003. I didn't know how I would adjust but I like it. I picked Portland because I was born in a small town and figured that would be too much of a change. The first year I moved to Maine Andre came to Portland so I figured that was meant to be. However, it was a lousy venue and of course now not big enough. Have been going to the NH concerts but this year am going to Bridgeport, CT instead because my niece is in med. school there. Where are you? Are you going to Toronto?
Virginia
Hi Virginia, I am so sorry to hear about Samson's condition. Poor baby. He will be in our prayers (Clyde, Honi, Cotton, Patches and mine). I am going to Toronto. Maybe we can get to see you on Friday. We will be there early because we need to get things set up for the Sat. dinner. If you are staying over and would like to join us for the dinner you are most welcome. If not, then maybe on Friday afternoon (we will need to eat that is if I can - I get very excited and nervous before a concert
Oh dumb me - my email address is: JeanineAnn@AndreRieuFans.com
Hi Jeanine Ann: I just wanted to check in and say hello here to you. Glad Honi Cotti and Patchi and ok. As you Know our baby Puddi is good here too. She saw Inky today and was not to happy about that. Really enjoy listening to all of my Andre CD's and watching my Andre DVD's while scrapbooking. Take care and love and hugs to all. Aud
Thanks Aud. For those new among you Audrey (Aud) is my sis. We both have cats. I know she likes André but I cannot tell her what she is getting for Christmas. Hugs to Aud
That is ok Jeanine while you are away in Canada and I take care of the three kids I could stumble on my christmas gift by accident after about an hour or two of looking. I think it may have something to do with Andre and his music as I love it. Love and hugs to you too sis.
As Bob Hope always said:
"THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES"
Bob Ruark
A very happy November to everyone. Thanks for the videos Sally. The Blue Danube is a most awesome piece of music, I never get tired of hearing it. I loved the dancers in the background.
That video of The Second Waltz was certainly a nice tribute to André.
Makes me happy to see that!
I ordered my copy of the Wonderland cd, I can't wait to hear it. I can't wait to get the dvd either
Take care everyone, and have a great November!
Andre's Road Soap to Efteling
Andre Rieu & his Johann Strauss Orchestra! (always a great treat!) This road soap will be shown on televison in Nederland. (gosh don't you wish we had these stations here?)

What a beautiful collection of music? Kati
Hi Kati, It is a beautiful collection of music and each CD has a different and lovely photo of Andre. I don't know where you can buy it except for Amazon.fr unless someone else has seen it. It even has one of my favorite songs "Meditation". Hugs
http://www.amazon.fr/s/ref=sr_pg_1/402-0570854-5819329?ie=UTF8&rs=&keywords=andre%20rieu&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aandre%20rieu&page=1
Just thought of a music site if you want to hear Andre's music in a particular album you do not have there is a site called "Rhapsody on Line" where you can click on one of his albums on the left side of the page (you must search his name first) and then when you click on a song from the album you will get a notice to download their player which only takes a few minutes and it is all free. Just a little something extra for you to if you are not familiar with an older CD. Hugs
www.rhapsody.com
Hello Jeanine, thanks for all the info, on this CD collection, I just ordered it, on Amazon.fr. I will have the most beautiful music, on the road in mu car. Kati
hey where can i buy that andre rieu in france?? wow that looks great!! 6 cds please inform mr when it will be comming out thanks so much!
-jeff
Hi Jeff, I bought that 6 CD set a few months ago from Amazon.fr It has all his wonderful music. I get emails from Amazon worldwide and I thought it would become available on Amazon.com but I guess not. But try the French site. Hugs
Happy November Everyone! The weather here in Long Island is perfectly beautiful and perfectly autumn! Today we have a sunny, clear crisp day. The leaves are FINALLY beginning to turn colors as it was so warm they stayed green for an extra long time. Flowers are still blooming in my garden...and the mums are a feast for the eyes!
I enjoyed the entire Thumper-Bambi conversation -- a good reminder. Isn't interesting than when life is personally rich and full, one has no tendency to disparage others. It is when one is hurting, insecure and needy that looking to others falts seems to put ourselves in better standing with ourselves....crazy.
Sally's philosophy of always looking for the positive is a great antidote to the tendencies that are all too human!! I say Sally and Thumper should put their names on the ticket for November 2008!
Have a great day everyone, L
dear friends. To get the info on the Andre in France, goto amazon.fr then click on musique then classique you will get a blank box fill in Andre Rieu & all will come up Item #2 les100 Belles
melodies comes on screen It is a 6cd set. *I didn't go to the ordering mode but I expect it is there in the site. To Jeanine Anne, am glad the kitties are still holding their own. We love our animals so much that when they are ill we are devastated, and there is so little we can do except keep them compfy
The road show is in Dutch but is available at www.TROS.NL . There are a couple of pics, but since the time is not yet right it won't play the program The A.R in France looks to be a lovely
item to add to one's collection. It will have to wait a while until I get the other things on my wish list. Takes time with the pension income I have. Sort of like making $1 do the work of $5
Just doesn't stretch as much as I would like, but I just have to be patient.
Hope all is well with you & yours, Love Marianne
I just ordered the CD collection on Amazon.fr. It is easy, just like any other site, it is in French, but everybody should understand the process, which is the same as any other! Kati
You are right Kati, if you know Amazon.com you will know Amazon.fr or .de or .au
You will love the CD collection. Hugs to you

Andrea
Hello Sally and all my lovely new friends, I am back!! Yep my sister Mavis and I landed about an hour ago, home from our 2 week holiday in Tasmania and Melbourne. Wow, we had a wonderful trip. It was our first time to Tazzie and what a pretty state it is. I just couldn't wait to get back on this site and read all I had missed out on. We took Andre cd's and played them in our hire car all around Tasmania. What a wonderful to tour around and see such lovely scenery. I do hope all my friends are well... If I have missed any tour dates for Andre's visit downunder, I will absolutely die... I will now go back and read every single comment since I have been away. Good to be home ... big hugs from Les xxxxxxx
Hi Leslie, It is so good to have you back with us. So happy you had such a wonderful time in Tasmania. Bet it was lovely. I think you probably know that Andre's tour will be between, oh gee brain freeze, the last week in November, 2008 to December 14. The dates are on the blog. All is well here. You have lots to catch up on. André CD "Wonderland" is now for sale on his site. The DVD should be out November 24 or around that date. Can hardly wait. You take care and rest up from your trip. If you have any questions, just let us know. Someone here will know the answers or we will get them. Love and hugs to you and your sister.
Leslie I am happy that you can spend time with Mavis and help her. You are a Blessing to her and a wonderful sister.

I have spent the day working on the email server, and I would rather be doing other things! That said...I think I've got something to mail to you.
snail mail that is. ha. I don't have to work on that.
I love driving to new places and seeing what is outside. I have wonderlust all the time. Spring Fever even in Winter!
Talk soon Sally
Hi all, can hardly believe it's Nov. already! We started out the month by going to Branson for a Daniel O'Donnell concert. We went with a bus load of seniors, 50 yrs on up. What a fun time we had. The weather was beautiful, the Ozark Mountains were beautiful, the concert was great. With my knee problem I couldn't get down to the front to take pictures & since we were about half way back all I could get was the back of people's heads. But after the concert I was able to meet Daniel and have my picture taken with him. He is so darn cute! When I got up to meet him I said"I've been waiting a long time to meet you"., and he says, in his Irish accent, "Well now have ye darlin"? And he kissed me on the cheek! nice! Then we had the picture taken. He is so darn cute! (did I say that already?)
Oh Shirley, you must have had a wonderful time and I am so happy for you. What a treat! You even got to promote our beautiful André. Yes, they will get hooked but you warned them! So glad I'm hooked.
I love the Vienna Boy's Choir and that will be a real experience for you. I have a CD somewhere of them singing with Placido Domingo. Hope you have a wonderful time. Love and hugs to you
Hi Shirley, I am glad You had a wonderful time, knee or no knee, We can forgetr it, until the music plays! HUH? We are all in the same boat, little far apart, but the feeling is the same. I am glad You had an opportunity to mention Andre's name, You are already a Great Ambassador! Onr good thing after another! I am sure, You will love the Boys, They do have something special, unforgettable. Enjoy it! Let us know! Kati
Wow Shirley, I think I'll hang out with you for awhile. Daniel O'Donnell and his cute smile and accent, of course his singing is very enjoyable, kiss too!! And the Vienna Boys Choir, they are great also! Sounds like you had a great time.
It's funny, I was thinking the same thing this morning, about music...beautiful music. I got this book on the relationship of music and how it can make us feel relaxed, how it helps us in our health and even our mental states. I was thinking, when I got out of bed, that this is one of the reasons why I love André so much, his music...it's about the most perfect music for me to listen to. I come to this conclusion because I listen to it all the time and never tire of hearing it, which is very unusual for me. After hearing something over and over again, I normally put it down and can't listen to it for a very long time. But not with the music of André Rieu, he seems to play in a way that whatever "relax" chord he hits with me, it's what I need.
There are hundreds of musicians that I really enjoy, and some I have actually gone to see and hear, but none has had the impact that André has had with me, so continuously.
It is amazing how he and his music has brought so many people together as friends from all over...and you are right Shirley, "beautiful music, wonderful people and special friends, life doesn't get any better" than that!
I treasure what I have found, with all my heart.
You know Marlene, I agree about the music Andre plays being so relaxing, it's all the music, much of what I've heard all my life, all the beautiful music he puts all in one package. The best of the best I always say.
I sure agree with you Marlene, i do feel the same way! His music never disappoint me, chenge my mood to be mellower, actually, a nicer person, even if i am angry about something! No wonder, He say, HE DID IT HIS WAY! I am glad there is a song like that, it is so fitting! Nevr get tired of it! He played so many beautiful ones already, more coming, i hope! I ordered the new Cd also, hopefully coming fast, this time. Kati
Oh I so enjoy Daniel O'Donnell. Charles, the man I went to the NY concert with is a big fan of his, and sent me a CD. Lovely voice.
. I taped it from Disney tv years ago, but would love to have a professional DVD of it. And, of course I want to see their home and studios in Vienna! How Cute!! A kiss on the cheek. That's a gentleman.
Shirley, I have always wanted to see the Vienna Boys Choir. I love that old Walt Disney Movie Almost Angels
*Watch your snail-mail. A little somethin' somethin' is on the way.
I totally agree with all of the above thoughts about the quality and impact of André's music. I also never get tired of it. When I listen to it, I think of the man(who I greatly admire for a variety of reasons) and the people playing in the orchestra, who I think are the best. André's music always sounds so perfectly arranged and played to me. The way the different instruments sound together, the timing and rhythm, the way the different parts
of the music itself go together. What a wonderful gift he has given to us.
Ok, so I forgot to set my clocks back, so I'm up earlier than I had planned, on a day off. I was happy yesterday that I could sleep in an hour more this morning. Oh well.
I got my "Masterpieces" cd yesterday, it's wonderful. I love the Winter/Largo and Meditation. All the music is perfect. And you are right Jeanine Ann, the cover booklet is fantastic! Loved the words.
Hope you all have a great Sunday!
Happy Sunday afternoon, everyone. I hope all of the pets are hanging in there and receiving lots of love and attention. My little sheltie Bentley did something to his right front leg last Tues, and he has been limping around since then, but he is getting so he can put his full weight on it now, but still has a little limp. I don't know what he did and I wish he could talk. My vet checked him out, couldn't really determine what was causing his problem. She put him on Rimadel, a super doggie anti-inflamatory, and said to check with her tomorrow on his progress.
Marlene - I am glad you are enjoying André's "Masterpieces". You mentioned two of the pieces I especially liked also. I also liked Londonderry Air - it was a nice solo for André. I hope to get his Wonderland CD this week, so am looking forward to that.
All of my best to everyone. Marilyn
Bentley shall be added to my Fur Baby Prayer list.
Hi Marilyn, Bentley will be added to my pet prayer list also. Hope he will be ok. I also love Londonerry Air. It was short but beautiful and I love when Andre plays solo. The entire CD is great. Take care Marilyn. Hugs to you and Bentley
To Sally and Jeanine. Thanks for your good wishes for Bentley and putting him on your pet prayer lists. I told him he was on 2 prayer lists, so he should be getting better
Ticket for sale at face value - $141.24 Canadian, for the Toronto Concert on December 15.
Section A1, Row 12 Seat 20
Hi Al, thanks for the information. If you hear of anything better than A8, row 8 for Friday please let me know. I am trying to upgrade. By the way, do you know of any setting on the Sony DSC 5 that would cause it to drain the batteries unusually fast? I don't see anything obvious but maybe you know of something. Also do you happen to have a tripod that you could bring to the fan dinner for a group photo. I realize you are flying and it would need to be one that folds; I don't even know if they are allowed. Thanks much. Hugs
Hi Jeanine Ann: I have a different sony from yours, but on my charger, I can "charge" the battery, or I can set the charger to "full charge". And while this always seemed strange to me, I always click it to "full charge". It takes about an hour longer than 'charge', but I keep it with the extra juice.
Hi Jeanine Ann. Yes, I have a light tripod that I take with me when I fly.
As for the battery drain, do you have more than one battery and if so, does it happen to them both? I'm guessing that you have a faulty battery. At any rate it's always a good idea to have a spare.
Hi Al, thanks for the information. Would it be any trouble for you to bring the tripod to the dinner. We would certainly appreciate it. I do not have one. Thank you
Actually my camera takes two rechargeable batteries and I always have two spares with me. In Reading my batteries (they were new) drained even before the concert and I didn't use it that much, just a few shots before the concert. Luckily I had the spares and that saved the night but they are still draining rapidly. I asked because I think you have the Sony DSC 9. Thanks for the info. See you in Toronto. Hugs
hi Sally
I think I have come in the back door as I was sidetracked and started reading the Aussie threads....absolutely fascinating...and thanks again for your invite...
cheers Kim
Aha, Laketrees. You are the one who painted the portrait of Andre, yes? I thought it was very good. I see you are from Australia. You all should be seeing Andre in concert next year. Wish we knew the exact dates but so far only Andre knows I guess.
Hi Kim: You're Welcome. I am still thinking of the portrait you drew of and gave Andre. It is wonderful. (wish I knew where he hung it.
hi Shirley and Sally......
I was wondering the same thing myself
..would it be OK for me to link to your blog on my Andre Rieu post at laketrees?
have a great day ....
all the best Kim
Sure that would be ok Kim. Now if only you could give us some of your artistic talent... I'm still working on writting my name and making it look at least a little bit good..
Fans & Friends have you seen Kim's Portrait of Andre? If not, I'll have to get you a link so you can go see.
I would love to see Kim's portrait of Andre! Hugs
Me, too.
Hi everyone, just received an email from Amazon.de and they have a new (?) 3 CD set called Eine Musikalische Traumreise and has a nice photo of Andre on the cover in a pink shirt and white jacket with pink flowers on the background. Most songs we have but has "Traumerei" (Dreaming) which I have not heard for years; one of my favorites "Wien, Wien, Nur Du Allein"; "I Don't Know How To Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar; "My Father's Favorite" (Sinn und Sinnlichkeit". "The Wild Rover".
Naturally I bought it. It is listed at 13,99 euro but when I bought it 11,76 euro came up as the price. Just thought you might want to check it out. I can list them all if you like. Hugs

It is a "wonderful" Wunderland. This is the CD. Oh wait until you hear André play "Tara's Theme". You will melt mmmmmmmmmmm
Forgot to say, Marlene since you also love Tara's Theme you had better be sitting down when you play it!
Oh my...I'm so anxious to hear it! I hope I get mine soon...it's been sent, so maybe in a couple of days??? I hope so. I've got my cd player primed and ready!
I am really going to start watching my mail now. I know it was shipped. I will stop everything when it arrives!
Listen up everybody great Andre Fans!! I just His Cds, what a beautiful collection, all the voices, I mean, i thought, we heard it all. No, we did not!! Cannot do a thing, just listen to this beauty!! I do not know, how to say it better, what about the DVD, that is coming? How much more beautiful that can be, with the creation of this Wonderland? I am speechless!I hope, other people got them also, and feel just the same i do!! It is sure, worth the little extra on shipping! Kati
NO, I haven't seen it yet...I'd love to see the portrait of André!
hello there!
I have just discovered Andre Rieu on Foxtel television in Australia... My mother has been talking of him for a very long time, but, I hadn't gotten around to taking a peek at these shows. How wonderful his music is for all ages!
Tonight, in an advertisement on Foxtel, I have gotten the idea that this wonderful musician and talent will be coming to Australia ??in 2008? If anyone has details of any concerts on the east coast, could they tell me more please. I think this would be a lovely surprise for my mother's Christmas/birthday. I can't understand why more information has not been advertised if this is the case, as his shows seem to be magnificent and enjoyed by folk of all ages and nationalities. Any help would be much appreciated.... thank you... Lindy
Hi Lindy, - I'll be heading from home in Canada to Australia for the 6th time in April.
The reason the tour dates have not yet been announced is that it's a logistical nightmare setting up what will be the largest show ever held in Australia. Because of the huge crowds expected, Andre and the JSO will only be playing in stadiums, and they will be transporting three seperate stages and sets to your country, each requiring 125 containers. They must book stadiums, hotels, ticket agencies and so on before the dates are announced.
That being said, Andre himself has said that they will perform in Brisbane. Sydney. Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in November / December 2008.
I expect there will be two or more concerts in each of those cities, and I would suggest you go online to ticketmaster.com.au to register your address and open an account so that you will be able to quickly secure your tickets when they do go on sale.
TO EVERYONE GOING TO TORONTO FOR FRIDAY CONCERT, WILL YOU JOIN US AROUND 5:30 FOR AN EARLY MEAL BEFORE CONCERT? I KNOW THERE IS A BIG DINNER ON SATURDAY BUT I CANNOT BE THERE FOR THAT. PLEASE ANSWER THIS MESSAGE OR EMAIL ME DIRECTLY AT VBAKER@MAINE.RR.COM AND PUT DINNER IN THE TITLE. WE WILL ALL WANT TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT BEFORE THE CONCERT SO LET'S DO IT TOGETHER. I WILL TAKE CARE OF THE ARRANGEMENTS IF ENOUGH PEOPLE WANT TO DO IT. FOR ME, IT'S A GOOD CHANCE TO MEET PEOPLE WHOM I FEEL I KNOW BUT HAVE ACTUALLY NEVER SEEN. PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Testing the comment email

From Terezie to Fans
OMG, OMG Sally I almost died when he put the violin down and danced with her. Oh to die for! Thank you so much. What a surprise. Hugs
Yes, this was a beautiful dance! We all wish it would have been us?? We are a little too old! She is very young and pretty! Good for her! I wonder, how she felt? Kati
Oh no Kati - I may be older than Simone but I will never be too old to dance with Andre! I don't think my legs would have held me up though. What a lucky gal. She probably felt that this is the ultimate that could happen to her as a fan. Hugs
Hi Jeanine, i really think it was rehearsed like this, otherwise, she would have been too nervus! See, she had a special place to sit at. Kati
You are probably right Kati, but it was a fantastic thing to happen for her. Andre dances really well, doesn't he!!!!
Hugs to you
I will be ready to dance a Waltz on my 80th Birthday!!I have a few more years to go! HAHAHA! Just, so you all know, i am ready morning ,noon and night!Just to think about it, makes me smile, who knows, if i ever be 80? Andre wants to live 105, I can have some wish also!I am just a few years older than Him!Kati
Hi Sally, yes, Andre dancing with Simone is superb... but could you just clarify something please..I dont understand ' webmommie knew of this but out of respect for Andre etc..
living in Italy, I saw this programme on ZDF German TV on Saturday last, 3 November. Actually you can see the whole part concenring Andre and the JSO if you go to
{{website redacted at the request of ZDF}}, as the 'you tube' does not show all of it.
So, Sally, what is the mystery? I am confused..clarification please .
Hello Adele: I have many correspondences I do not publish. In this case, I was told a little about this upcoming event where Andre was to surprise Simone. I kept it private, because it is Andre's surprise to give, not mine to put on the internet.
Now that the event has come to pass we can all share in the excitement of it.
As for the other site, ZDF has requested I not post a link. I respect ZDF's request and will not do so. Here is a part of their email to me::::
(of course the correspondence is much longer and more involved but this is the only part I will share)
Sometimes we have to do what is right, vs. posting information. I’m sure all Fans agree we need to show respect to André and his entire crew. They work so hard to bring us the best entertainment in the world, and we should respond in kind with our thanks.
Hi Sally
thank you very much for the clarification. Sorry, I had not understood the context of your posting. Now all is clear. Thank you again.
I thought this was so beautiful.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w54ZDzrsSjg
Sally, i must say that i think its a bit strange that you won´t post a link to the `other site` but you do post the youtube video which is exactly the same only a bit shorter. Seems a case of double standards to me.
Hans
Hi Hans: Well, ZDF did not write me about any other site. I'm not worried about what anyone thinks about it, as I am showing ZDF the respect they requested. It's simple unless one looks for a problem. This is not open for discussion -- as I said in the Terms of Use.
I'm so happy ZDF is working with me, and by this association, there are new doors opening up.
My turn
The ultimate surprise was when Andre went over and danced with this beautiful girl...isn't she the lucky one! Wow...what a great video!!!
mmmmm!
This is a wonderful treat, Sally. Thanks to you and to Terezie for making it available.
Thanks Terezie, I had heard from a German fan that this was to take place, but as Andre wanted to keep this a surprise, I had to not post about it. Now that it's been broadcast and youtubed, we can all see and enjoy it.
Thanks Terezie, maybe one day we will see YOU waltzing with Andre?
wow that was a great show i cant belive that they danced how cute i love the cinderella waltz i cant wait to hear it on the new dvd!
-jeff
Hi Jeff,
Wasn't that great!! I too cannot wait for the DVD. Did you order the CD? I ordered one from Amazon.de and then I saw it was on Andre' site and got another one. I think the Cinderella Waltz is so pretty. I think that was so appropriate because I am sure that is how she felt - just like Cinderella. BTW are you going to Toronto?
Hugs to you
Hi Everyone, I have just purchased a violin signed by Andre Rieu when he was here in Australia. I will have it professionally mounted in front of a block mounted poster in a display cabinet, This will be completed by Christmas, I asked for ideas from the many fans on the official site and got a flood of emailed this morning of suggestions and people wanting to buy. Sorry but it is not for sale as it will take pride and place in my fathers lounge room as it will be a Christmas gift for him. I have saved all the email addresses and I will send several photos of this once it is completed. I will be working this week with the cabinet maker to design the most special cabinet. If any of you true Andre fans would like me to email them the finished product or have suggestions please email me on (email webmaster@andrerieufans.com and she will give Gary your request) and I'll send you photos once completed. I will ensure that the finished product is of the highest quality in an original design by true Andre fans. Bring on the Brisvagas concert. Gary
Hi Gary, that is a kind and caring thing to do. I image your father will be so happy to have this gift from you. (a thoughtful son!) Of course we want the story and photographs about this to add to the site here. All of the fans will enjoy seeing this and it sounds like you know how to make something special. Extra Special! ~Webmaster Sally~
i know it was great no i am so sorry to say that i will not be able to attend that concert conciquently i have 2 shows on the 14 and 15 lol so i am sick over not being able to go.
-jeff
wow i was reading on this blog that somepeople give away andre rieu autographs as present! that is most likely the best gift in the world! i would die if someone ever gave me one lol
have a good night
jeff
Dear Friends Just finished the family history. Almost three full typewritten pages. Now G/S Andy can read a bit about part of this family. Gary I hope you will post the finished cabinet with the violin, for all of us fans I can receive E-mail, but the sending is not
working. Jeff, are you in the music business that you will have to mis concerts the 14 & 15th of Dec.? I really
loved the current video of the Cinderella Waltz and our Andre dancing with a young lady. I hope I can find it on the next dvd. Still sunny here but is chilly and expect more of the same as
winter approaches. Love to all Marianne
Ovation is telling Aussie Fans to keep time open for Andre Rieu this December:
DECEMBER HIGHLIGHTS
AT HOME WITH ANDRE RIEU in this Special Television Event Leo Schofield pays an exclusive visit to Andre Rieu at home in his hometown of Maastricht in The Netherlands. This is a rare glimpse into the private life of one of the world's most sensational performers.
Screens Sunday 16 December at 7pm
RE Andre signed violin
I just came back from the master cabinet maker and we worked out the design. I have ordered 2 posters from AR website and one of them will be block mounted The case will be thick enough for the violin to be mounted with an external brass handle so you can spin it around to look at the front or back were the signature is. The trim around the poster is Royal blue velvet and the outer frame is old roman style marble with beading. The glass is preservation glass, non reflective and repeals 99% uv rays.
Dad loves him so much and I explained listening to him through tv speakers does not do him justice so I bought him a full 5.1 amplifier sound system told him it was for Christmas, now he gets this. If anyone can let me know how do I preserve andre's signiture on the back of the violin it will be greatly appreciated or should I leave it and risk fading. It is in thick black marker. Thanks again everyone for your help and I'll post the finished masterpiece in mid December, 2007.
Wow Gary. That sounds so exquisite. Like a Dream Come True. I think you are going to have a priceless moment when your Dad sees your gift.
Very nice Gary! You put so much into this, I'm sure your father will certainly love it. What a great gift for someone who enjoys André so much!
WOW!! Your dad is in for a heck of a surprise.
Since Andre probably used a Sharpie pen to sign the violin, why not pose that question to the manufacturer?
https://www.sharpie.com/enUS/ContactUs/default.html
Now that is thinking Al !!
No wonder I couldn’t come up with it
As I had previously mentioned, we went to see the Vienna Boys Choir last night. They were outstanding, angel voices, beautiful harmony. The program was in three sections, sacred music, international folk songs, and Austrian & German folk songs. The auditorium was packed and the audience was most appreciative. At the ending was a standing ovation & so they came back on stage to sing Amazing Grace. wow! There wasn't a dry eye in the house! Just more great and beautiful music to hear! And I especially loved the Weiner Blut by Johann Strauss Jr. Who does that remind you of?
Hi Shirley, you must have had a beautiful time. I knew they were wonderful singers and I would love to hear them again. Glad you enjoyed it. Weiner Blut - let's see now who does that remind me of
Dear folks It's nice to hear of your trips to Branson Mo, Shirley
for the Dan O'Donnel show and now the Vienna Boys Choir. I used to have a long play record of them dating back some 40 years. It is a very old & well established group. Of course the singers today are not the ones that were on my record. I wonder how many continued to sing after their voices changed. Also heard Paul Potts on Oprah last monday. His lst cd went gold so that is quite a phenomenon. Kind of reminds me of Jim Nabors playing a role as a hayseed and then opening his mouth and the voice was awesome. You just never know where a huge voice may be found. Another singer I like is Josh Grobin, another tenor He sings a song called "You raise me up" and it's a good song & a good melody. 1st heard him on Oprah and went out & bought the cd, which I quite enjoy. If I have a blud day it is either an Andre cd or dvd or Josh and even sometimes John Denver, so I like all kinds of music. There are a couple of cds that I will dance around my apartment. Boy that is good exercise!! Also like anything by Mantovani or James Last. If i am having a sleepless night, I sing the lyrics in my head and soon I'm off to dreamland.
Much better that sheepcounting Ha Ha
Gary's violin is lovely and since it will be a showpiec and not played a coat of varnish could be the way to preserve the autograph. That was Jeff Rubbino's suggestion. If it is going to be played I would ver very wary of adding anything to the instrument. Hope
everyone is well Love Marianne
Jim Nabors.
What a voice. Now there is a man who made millions by playing dumb, when he is anything but. Thanks for making me think of him Marianne
Marianne my dear, you have excellent taste in music!!!! Love all the ones you mention too!So much beautiful music...so little time!
hi marianne
thanks for telling them that it was my idea i really appreciate that you did not take the credit for it. thanks so much
every one on this blog are such nice caring people who are herejust to have fun and share there intrests.
thanks!
-jeff
Have all of you watched this YouTube video of André playing Ave Maria? Never have I seen such reverent emotion on his face or as much emotion as he shows here.
Yes, the expressions...you can feel the music by his expressions! I love those expressions
Okay - who can tell me what instrument Roger is playing on that video?
What instrument
Al is that a Picolo trumpet? If not then I just know it is some kind of trumpet.
It's a flugelhorn
Hi all,
I contacted some violin makers and repairers and they say varnish is the way to go to totally preserve the signature so the entire violin will be done for preservation next week. The guy asked me what autograph I had on the back and when I told him it was Andre Rieu, I think he fell off his stool LOL. He went from professional voice to "how the bloody hell did you get that" Thanks again for everyone's help.
Hi Gary, just an opinion but varnishing the entire violin will change the originality of the instrument and I do not know how it would affect the fingerprints which you certainly would want to preserve as they are. I really think just encasing the violin would preserve it and it would not be altered in any way. Just my opinion. Hugs
Gary, I am so excited for you, I feel as if I have been there the entire time you are doing this. What a wonderful memento & special treat.
Go to a good art shop and get a spray can of a sealer that artists use to spray their finished work. Photographers also use the same product to preserve their prints, but before you use it on the autograph, do a test somewhere else to make certain that it won't do damage to the varnish.
Here comes the bad news!! Today i got jury duty summons!! I am ready to die! It is for Dec. 3rd!! My concert is on the 2nd in Sacramento! I have to call the Friday before, and they will let me know if i have to show up or not! This is terrible, i will not know, 2 days prior my concert if i am able to fly there or not?? What a luck! Sally, you better call me on the weekend! OK? Saturday, will work til 2pm. Kati
Kati, carefully read the summons in it's entirety....including all the small print.
Usually, somewhere on the summons is a website address or a phone number to call if you want to be rescheduled for a different day.
Kati, usually the courts are very good about working with you to schedule dates that are convenient for you. I am in Maine now but in NY when they changed the rule and decided doctors and lawyers, etc. could not be exempted, they had to become very accommodating to work with them. It has made the pool of jurors much more homogeneous, as it should be. They were more than nice when I changed my date.
I will figure out someyjhing! Just like you said, it does worth a try! I will! I have to be in Sacramento!! And I will!! HAHAHA! Kati
Thanks for the beautiful color Bill, I love it. One of my favorite. Yes, you people were right, I wrote an E-mail and postponed the JURY DUTY! HURRAY! This way i can go toSacramento! Kati
Kati, so sorry to hear about your jury duty news. Here in Lane Co., Oregon, we have the option of for one time delaying our service to sometime during the following year. It might be a good idea to check to see if you get one optional delay.
My other unbelievable news is that I received my André in Wonderland CDs today (Thurs), after order them on Nov. 1 (one week ago!!!), they were apparently shipped Fri., Nov. 2, and I received them today Nov. 8. I was stunned to see them in my mailbox today. I ordered them sent by Priority Mail, and boy is it great. Anyway, I am now playing them. The music is great. Lots of new songs. Yippee !!!!
Thanks, it is worth a try! I had another posting before this one, never showed up. I got my CD also, so fast, so lovely! It does sure worth the little extra to get it so soon. Beautiful music collection, I just could do nothing but listen. Hardly can wait for the DVD! Kati
Hello everyone, I have been very busy doing dances lately and have not had much time for my computer. I hope everyone id fine. I talked to Tim at the PBS Station in Jacksonville about the concert there in April and he says sales are doing great! Hope to be able to get back to doing Photo shows etc.
Wishing everyone the best
Bob Ruark
Hi BOB! Good to hear from you and know all is well.
Dancing is such good sport and a grand way to enjoy company.
Hi everyone. I hate to say this, but although the green print is a lovely color, I think it makes the print harder to read. Is anyone else having a problem?
This Green text is very hard to read - not very compatiable with "old eyes"
Cheers
Ok, who's putting all this chartreuse color in here?? May I guess?
I hope that my eyes can take this, but...I just can't guarantee it.
Yeah, Bill...gosh that neon greenie color bled onto everyone else's comments. While it looks good on you, I've never looked good in that color.
I love green, I wear it all the time - not the neon green but all shades of green. In fact I just got a green dress for Toronto but it is a hunter green. Looking for a red one too. Just hope André doesn't have the bull at Toronto!
I would look like, i am dead!! Kati
Dear friends. Expect everyone going to Toronto is on pins & needles. Wish I could go too, but that is just out of my reach. Hopefully next fall there will be a concert in Calgary & I will go
to town for that. Watched Oprah yesterday, with some fashion guru, showing how to dress for your age. Everything up to your 60ties, so I guess if you're in your 70ties, you should run around in the nude Ha ha. I dress in what is comfortable for me and I don't dress like an old lady. I can wear any color except bright yellow, which washes me out. I can even get away with pinks & reds, which for an auburn haired person is a no no, but it suits my skin tone so I don't worry about it. Wear some black, but more white with color accents. then I can get away with a little lipstick & eyebrow color. Lashes & brows are so blonde they don't register so I wear a medium brown and silver grey mascara which accents the eyes. Don't really want to waste too many hours on make-up.
have better things to do. Woke up this a.m. to Andre's adagio for violin concerto #6. It is a long one, so I just dreamed to the music for 20 minutes
& then hit the floor. We were supposed to get snow overnight, but nothing so far, but the sky is that gunmetal solor which usually precedes the snow. Its -1
& should get to 11 this p.m. which is okay as long as we don't get a north wind, which freezes your bones. Anyone with arthritis can sure feel this coming
My hands ache like a toothaches but once the precip starts it does ease. Very odd disease to say the least. Expect Marlene is getting the usual grey weather with rain rain & more rain!! When we moved to Hope in 1953, I
couldn't believe just how it could rain,
like someone has up-ended a bucket. Hope too is a windy place being at the junction of three valleys, so you become used to having your hair windblown. Forget fancy hair-dos. Hope all your fur babies are well. I like the prayer list Sally has for the pets.
Anyone who love animals & cares for them has to be nice people. A rule of thumb for me, has always been, sort of don't trust a person with no love for our furred & feathered friends. There is something missing in their personality
& it usually shows up in their other actions with people. Have to get back to the books this a.m. Have been busy with other things. Retired Ha ha, seems
that I am busier that when I was gainfully employed. The Osmand family lost their patriarch last Monday, & though it is sad. he did have a good long life, with many descendants, & they seem to all be decent folks, who have had the knocks that life deals out to all of us. No life is perfect so one just has to take the lumps and be happy
with the good times. Concentrate on the positive and it does make you a better human being. Hope your knee is better, Shirley. Our joints don't take much abuse as we age, so we have to be extra careful. With arthritis you learn to live with it, take painkillers if needed & just carry on. Love to allm Marianne
Hi Marianne, did you say it is 1 (one) this morning?? Oh gee that is terrible. It was in the high 20 here over night and I thought that was bad. I think I would freeze, but it is coming. I wish you were going I would dearly love to meet you. Hopefully one of these days! Right now I am watching Andre at the Zenith in Paris. It is a real nice concert. He just played the lovely "Ave Maria". This concert has no sub titles and he speaks French which I love but can only understand a few words but you know what he is saying from the other concerts. He also plays Chopin Opus 3 which features Jo a lot. You would like this Sally. It has taken me a long time to type these few words because I am constantly stopping to watch the TV screen.
We had a few snow showers this morning and now it is just cold rain. Hope everyone is having a good day. Hugs
Hi Marianne. I enjoyed your newsy posting. I agree that we all have to figure out colors, etc. that work for us and what we are comfortable with. Yes, the weather is starting to get rainy here too. I kind of enjoy winter weather tho and it is important that we get the rain and snow we need.
I wanted to ask you about André"s Adagio from Violin Concerto #6. What CD is that on. It sounds like a good one to check out. Maybe I have already heard it but didn't realize what the title was. Have a great day. Hugs, Marilyn
Hi guys & dolls....just taking a bit of a breather here. What with first being sick for a week & then hobbling around for about a week,I've gotten way behind in the household stuff. You wouldn't believe the cat hair and ghost pooh! All that is getting sucked up! Kind of into a fall cleaning mode now, good thing with the holidays coming on too. You all mentioned your weather, we are having one of those beautiful sunny fall days, hi in the 70's, worked outside yesterday so inside today. Wish I had a cleaning lady but drat, I'm it! Won't be long before the Dec. concerts, Toronto seems to be the place to be, but alas, I'm like Mariannne. I'll just have to wait to hear about it. I do have the Vienna dvd so guess I can watch that one again. I really prefer the theater type setting myself instead of the big stadiums but I'm sure many will enjoy it and the fan dinner sounds like a fun time. Jeanine Ann & Ruth are very good organizers. The fan get togethers are like icing on the cake, you will meet some very nice people. Well I best get back to work before I
settle into lazy.Just wanted to check in.
Glad to have you back and better, Shirley!
Is your house like mine, where even if no one is there to mess it up, it still gets dirty? (I never can figure that out...or I'm in denial)
Hi Shirley, I am also glad you are better. Don't worry that you have some dust and cat hair, that is in abundance here
YES. It never stops. Granted I have three cats. I guess I am naturally sloppy. Every time I turn around the kitchen floor is dirty, the bathroom floor is dirty, etc. and I just did them! I used to live in NYC and was spoiled - I worked all hours and had someone do the kitchen and bath once a week. Now that I'm in ME and semi-retired I can't justify it. Although maybe I will some day. I have been pretty good about keeping things picked up because I have a cat who has gone blind and want to make it easy for him. The real problem is that I have too many things! I say I am aiming for a sparse look but it will never happen. When I came to ME I moved into an apartment complex - My apartment is right on the water and was a good choice. One of the apartments I looked at was very nice but was carpeted throughout including the kitchen and bathroom. I knew that within a week that kitchen carpet would be a horror. At least I have hardwood floors here. I have yet to be able to tell myself that it will never be perfect and that this is the way I live. I want it perfect (and it will never be)so it's a constant I should clean, I have to clean, I can't relax, etc. etc. Anyway, enough.
Hi everyone, We were talking about Kim's portrait of Andre. I found it!
http://laketrees.blogspot.com/2007/09/flying-dutchman.html
excellent portrait, excellent site.I will have to go back often just to read and look. She's very talented.
I opened this site and saw Kim's wonderful portrait of André and then it popped up a window saying it couldn't be run, and it closed it immediately. I had to re-open the blog. Interesting. Why would it open it, then say it couldn't run it?
You people will melt, when you hear on the new CDs, Andre is playing the 1812 overture! Just so beautiful, one of my favorite, also. Kati
Good morning, everyone. Hey, Kati, what piece is it you are talking about? You are right, the new CD is fabulous.
I was wondering about the new bass soloist Brian Dickerson. He definitely adds a new dimension to André's music. I thought he was terrific. Does anyone know anything about him. It seems like I heard that he came from the Harlem Gospel Choir. Hugs, Marilyn
I love Tsaykowsky's 1812 Overture, I love the Girls singing on Chopin's Solveigs Lied, I do have the German version of the new Cds, from Andre's Store. I have not received the French one yet. Hope, that will come soon also. It does sure worth to pay a few extra dollars! Thanks to JSO and the Company, that they do take extra work, to send these items Priority! Kati
haha...I just clicked to "submit" button, accidently, before I wrote anything at all...it came back giving my a whole list of things I still had to complete...like the number, name, email address, yes, even the words.
Marianne, yes, the rain has started...today. We had a nice run of great weather, now it's the grey, winterish cold rain.
Jeanine Ann, you said you had a dvd from the Zenith in Paris, it's in French, which dvd is that?
I just wanted to stop in to say hello. Have a great weekend everyone.
Hi Marlene, yes I do have a French DVD but it is PAL so you must have an all region player. It is called "Andre Rieu and JSO au Zenith de Paris". You can get it at www.amazon.fr It is a nice one; it includes Ave Maria, Chopin Opus 3 (or10), Second Waltz, Emperor and Blue Danube waltz's, Salome. They don't have a track list so I am trying to remember the songs but they are the usual songs but he speaks in French which I love and to tell the truth you can tell what he is saying just by picking up a few words and you can tell which song is coming up.
We have had two days of cold dreary rain. I guess winter is coming. Hugs to you
Thanks Jeanine Ann. I won't be able to play it now, maybe someday I'll be able to get a PAL player. Right now, my regular one is giving me problems, but it's part of the tv. Sounds like a really nice dvd.
I wanted to let people know that Bentley seems to be ok now - no limping.
i want to take it slow in getting him back on our walks. Maybe some short ones for a while. Thanks for the prayers. I hope other furry friends are hanging in there too. Hugs
Hi Marilyn, so glad that Bentley is doing better. Prayers do work. Honi is hanging in there but we have a sad chore to do, we must prepare her place in the garden before the ground freezes. A lot of sad days ahead. I just thank God I still have my other two babies and in just about a month two André concerts.
Hugs to you and Bentley.
Lest we forget;
At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918, the guns fell silent, and World War 1 came to an end;
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
89 years later, the slaughter continues.. great pity we did not ALL learn a lesson...
True, Adele, and although we'll not forget I'm afraid that George Bernard Shaw was right when he said "We learn from history that we learn nothing from history".
The love affair of Australia and Andre continues. Andre continues to dominate the Australian DvD Charts with 6 in top 10 and 11 in top 20 again this week.
http://www.ariacharts.com.au/pages/charts_display.asp?chart=1V40DVD
Thank you Grayeme! This is interesting and good to know.
Dear friends. Think I might have gotten the Opus 3 incorrect & it may be the Adagio from violin concerto #3 in G major & is on the Romantic Moments cd.
Thanks Jeanine Ann, for the pics of Andre & Susan on their press conference. I liked the detail I could see on the coach,Fantastic workmanship
Also our temp is in celcius so minus 1, would be just at the freeszing level, that is bearable as long as the wind doesn't blow from the north, then it is brr time. I noticed that all the venues in the cities of Australia, seem to be footbal stadia, & I heard somewhere that there will be two complete sets of 125 containers enroute to Oz. Maybe one for west coast and one for east coast.
Even if is is only one set of 125 containers, the logistics will be a holy terror, but Andre seems to have a most excellant crew so once they get accustomed to the travel, set-up & takedown, it will go smoothly with no glitches. Australia does seem to be a long way from everywhere & the distances within the country are pretty big too. Hope everyone is fine Love Marianne
So true about the logistical holy terror of the Australian tour Marianne.
By comparison,it is the equivalent of doing a tour of - Los Angeles - Houston - New Orleans -Washington DC and Boston all within 20 days. I would think that Andre and JSO would have to fly between venues as well as the distance between venues are a minimum of 1000km and almost 3000km between Perth and Adelaide. Also, our population is very much centred on the major cities and the East Coast. Away from the East Coast there are huge distances of unpopulated nothingness. I am guessing that Andre will bring a minimum of 2 setups and perhaps 3 as there is no way he could cover all the venues with one set-up in the time frame. But I am sure it will all work like clockwork once here. Cheers
Today is Veterans Day in the US. A day of remembrance, for all those who served and are serving our country I say "Thank You". I've been reading the story of Jerry Stover, in the "featured fans" . To Jerry, I say "thank you". As General MacArthur once said,"It is the SOLDIER, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the SOLDIER, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the SOLDIER, not the campus organizers, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the SOLDIER, who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
AMEN Shirley. I plan to visit our local cemeteries today as well as my father's grave. Today is a day for those special prayers for those who keep us free.
Every Day of Freedom is Veterans Day
I just signed a beautiful card for our soldiers, who are in Germany, in the hospital, try to put their lives back together, suffering, and i want to let them know, how much i do appreciate their work, sacrifice, and hurt, for our freedom! I want them to be able to talk to their loved ones, on the holidays! Nobody knows, what freedom is, better than i do! Kati
Yes, we owe so much to those who give their lives, not to mention their families, to keep us free. Many thanks.
And we need to take care of them when they come back home.
Amen to That. We need to take care of those, who take care of us.
I was very sad yesterday, to hear it on national television, that 25% of Vets are homeless!! How, on Earth is this possible in the greatest Country in the Whole World?? Where do they stay in a cold winter, where do they eat, how do they take care of their health problems, how do they shower and shave, or just let their beard grow as long as it does grow? How, do they celebrate holidays? Maybe in a homeless shelter? Kati
Good point Kati. With all the base closures, I wonder why we can't have that housing for our vets. There is a lot of housing locally to me. Many bases were closed. If we could get good laws, so we can govern the use of these homes, why not? We owe this at the least to our vets. This and health care. (I'm certain every country feels this way, so it is time to do something about it.)
RAISE THE FLAG
Yes Kati I agree with you. Why is it that in this United States of America should our Vets be homeless and uncared for. We prayed for them in church today and we will always be grateful to them for their service. Thank You and hugs to them all.
Hi Jeanine Ann: I sure agree with all that is said her about our vets. If it were not for all of them we would not be able to be doing what we are doing right now and have the freedom to voice our opinions and be able to stand up strong and free. Really more should be done for these boys and men who put their lives in danger in order to protect us from harm. God bless them all and everyone should remember them in their prayers not only today but everyday. Hope you all have a really nice day and God Bless. Hugs Aud
In the meantime they do suffer!! I just got on my roof,I am not climbing mountains, like somebody we know! I had to clean the leaves and junk from my gutter. It is like mountain climbing, isn't Bill? Kati
In Canada, it's called Remembrance Day. The following poem is special to Canadians
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
That poem has always touched me too. And no matter where, to all freedom loving people, there are those who helped to preserve this freedom. Those of us who share the values of democrocy, human rights, & the rules of law. Thank you Al
I agree Shirley, it is a beautiful poem and yet very sad also. Thank you very much Al for sharing this.
Hugs
Hey everyone!
I just saw the new andre rieu fairy tale and boy this was my favorite one.
"CHIN CHIN PU PU" that cracked me up! i could not stop laughing!
I cant wait to see what the final results of the signed violin will be.
nice to talk to you all agian!

No matter what I feel about the war, any war for that matter, I have an extreme compassion for those who are serving in the military. They leave their families and the comforts of home and the people they love, and go off to foreign lands and fight, whether to bring peace or democracy, or to help those who cannot fight for their freedoms.
I think of these men and women and I get this feeling of total compassion for them. They are so brave.
I could never leave my life and go off to foreign lands and do what they do. Why is it that some are so brave and some of us are "chicken"? I think it's the backbone or "stuff" we are made of.
These men and women who serve their country...is there some way to express how truly proud we are of them? Is there a way to make them know that what they do for us is appreciated more than anything?
It seems that throughout life, we have had some kind of wars or strife in so many places of the world, and I can only think of those who serve. I send them my love and heartfelt thanks for all they do.
Please come home safe and sound, and know that we think of you each and every day!
Dear friends. Yesterday was the day for all in North America to remember our military who paid the ultimate price so we can enjoy our freedon. Yes we do have the laws to be obeyed, but we can congregate & discuss the problems of the day without fearing that someone will turn us in to the Authorities for treason or such. The fact that so many servicemen & women are not properly looked after is a real blot on all of us. Think the VietNam Vets got the worst of that as so many were mentally damaged and nothing was done to alleviate their circumstances. Quite a few of the homeless we see on the streets of our towns & cities have come from that venue. Just recently I saw a news broadcast about the brain damage done to service fok injured in Afghanistan & Iraq and they are also being shovelled under the carpet & forgotten. This is shameful on the part of our respective gov'ts. Canada has service men & women in both theates of conflict & we are losing people often enough that it makes the news. I remember the Flanders Fields poem very well, had to memorize same when I was 8 yrs old. There is another poem written by a fighter pilot. who flew high."Slipped the surly bonds of earth & reached out and touched the face of God". I can't recall the whole poem but it is one that brings tears to the eye.
Also watched a program last nite about who actually shot down the infamous Red Baron. Turns out it was an unknown Aussie infantryman, Evan Snows, & there is no photo, & he died in 1925, unknown & unsung. One old man 104 yrs recalled the where and with to-days forensic capabilities the reconstructed the whole
incident, & by process of elimination were able to determine just who fired the fatal bullet. Another thing the ammo, used by both the ground troops &
the aircraft mounted machine guns was the same calibre. 303British. We in N/A have been lucky in that we haven't had a steam roller of war upon us, altho we've had our share of conflicts. Revolutionary war, civil war, 1812, & many various conflicts with the aboriginal peoples, who were also trying to defend their way of life. It is peculiar that to-day the American has respect for their aboriginal peoples & we in Canada are beginning to see the light. When I went to Hope, B.C
as a newly wed, the natives were categorized as drunks & no-accounts & yet I met lots of decent native folks
Now the pendulum has come full circle. Not yet perfect but getting there & that is progress. I think "fear" is the underlying cause of pretty much all the racial, religious prejudices we carry about with us. so the more you learn of different cultures the less fear and the more tolerance you can attain when
dealing with your fellow man or woman. If we can develop a sense of compassion toward each other then we can build a better world & maybe find a better way to solve the huge problems we are facing in the world to-day & global warming is a bit thing & our children & granchildren will reap the consequences.
Love Marianne
Andre's new DVD with track listing
Once upon a time…
André Rieu writes: As a child I had only to hear these magical words and I would find myself transported to the land of fairy-tales. I would dream of a beautiful princess with long, golden curls and myself as the prince waiting to carry her off on his white horse, away to his castle. Fairy-tales… even the word is magical, and even for us adults it calls up a world in which you can float away on romantic dreams. I let this be my inspiration for this new CD. Together with my wife Marjorie, I have searched out the most beautiful fairy-tale music for you from all over the world. So come with me to Fairy-tale Land, gently close your eyes and dream of princes and princesses, shimmering castles in the sky and strange and wonderful things. Enjoy the lovely music, and may you live happily ever after! With love from André Rieu.

I can't wait!! Oh I want to see it all now.
What a fantastic CD, Jeanine. I can hardly wait for the DVD. It's less than 2 weeks and then it will out. Right? I think André really outdid himself with this one.
Yes Marilyn, I hope it will be out in a few weeks. I heard a date of November 24 and also a date in December so keep checking Andre's web site and if we hear anything here we will post it. Hugs to you
Oh yes, this is the one I'm waiting for! Believe it or not, I haven't ordered the cd yet because this is one I want to see. I'll get the cd later, but this one has to be seen! I'm really dying to hear Tara's theme, but the whole program sounds delightful.
Oh Shirley how can you wait. I ordered the CD when I first saw it on Amazon.de, couldn't even wait until it got in the Boutique. I don't know how many times I played Tara's Theme but almost know the song in my sleep. The entire CD is great. We listen to it and say "wonder what is happening as they play this song". We will soon see.
Jeff I get around and I just found the tracklisting
Good Morning. I ordered the CD right away off of Andrés website. It is really worth it, but of course the DVD will be a whole new experience. I am really enjoying the voice of Brian Dickerson. He gives a whole new dimension to André's music. Have a good day, everyone.
I have just received my cd. Am really enjoyingit. I have it up really loud as there is no-one else home. Certainly adds to the WOW factor. It sends tingles up and down my spine!!!!!. Can't wait for the dvd and concert tickets in Australia to be released
Hi Margaret, just wait and see His DVD, that is coming soon! Kati
Hi Margaret, That is the way I like to listen to new CDs! As long as it is just me....up goes the sound system!
Oh at long last the moment I have been waiting for to see Andre' and his wonderful orchestra in AUSTRALIA! .. It was at the top of my "before I die" list ...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!I own every DVD made and have told so many people about his great concerts.... One question Could you please tell me when they will be in Melbourne and when and where do the tickets go on sale & the cost??...I have to start saving as we live in the country and have a four hour drive to the city to see the concert. Many thanks
Have patience Gail. Nothing finalized as yet. But keep checking here.
HI all!
how did u find out the track listing ans also is andre making a romantic vienna night that he shot in vienna a couple months ago? I wish he would make that dvd too! OK best wished to all
-jeff
Have you any idea whether Andre will be performing in the U K in the foreseeable future?
Dear friends. Just a reminder to vote for Andre as man of the year.
Persoonvanhetjaar.nl (Dutch site)
Person des Jahres.de (German site)
At the moment Andre is leading but he could be overtaken if we don't register our vote. Once you have voted goto your
E-mail click to confirm. Have been sharing my Vienna concert with a friend, who neede hair detangled. It's
hip-length, so it was quite the job to get all the knots detangled. Stilll no snow here, but it has turned very cold & windy. Just a couple of weeks before the Dec concerts begin. The big one is Toronto, which will a massive effort, that may make the Guiness world record.
Hope everyone is well. There's been flu around here, but so far have escaped the bug. Between vitamin regimen & flu shots I manage to say well. Love to all
Marianne
Glad that flu bug has missed you Marianne, and that you stay well. We want to keep you around !
After all these years, I would think they could cure the flu, but it is a tricky as the cold and just as difficult. Guess we are far better off than those who were before us. 100 years ago I shudder to think of the flu in a crowded city.
hey everyone andre rieu put new pictures on his website and he has had his first showing of his new dvd in a private party!
-jeff
Hi Jeff, thanks - aren't they great! Wish I could have been at that party. Cannot wait for that DVD. Hugs
Hi Jeff. That must have been some party! I can't wait for the DVD either, but it shouldn't be long. Marilyn
Dear friends, that must have been quite the party, I've watched all the road show episodes & enjoyed them very much
Pierre sure has his Dad's smile & looked so nice dressed up in suit & tie. He's usually working at top speed to fullfil his Dad's fantastic dream.
The wonderland dvd will be awesome, as will the cd which is already available.
My music station is playing Romance from the dreaming cd. They do play a lot of Andre's music which is nice & our
weather & news channel also picks up the same music track, so I can get instrumentals from three sites Lucky me!
After a bit of drought on Andre's site, it is beginning to have some new items, but I frequently watch the side videos.
That was some champagne bottle!! It looked like it had been close to emptied, but there is a lot of musicians
staff & crew and they are like family or the whole thing would not work so well. The food display was also looking lucious, hadn't had my dinner & that made my mouth water. Had a chicken/shrimp noodle dish my daughter had made the prevous nite, so I ate that and it was very good. Part of the schonbrunn set is enroute to Toronto!!
Over 100 containers with what isn't yet completed will come by air. I can only marvel at the effort by Pierre & his staff, for following his Dad's dream. It is away over the top!! Love Marianne
Marianne, guess what we had for dinner last night? A chicken/shrimp and noodle dish that my brother made! I just find so interesting.
I JUST GOT THE FRENCH COLLECTION OF ANDRE'S MUSIC. 6 CDS, I HARDLY CAN WAIT TO HEAR THEM! EACH CD IS A DIFFERENT TYPE OF MUSIC COLLECTION. I ORDERED IT FROM FRANCE, IT DOES GIVE ME GOOSEBUMPS! LATER! KATI
Hello everyone. I got my Wonderland cd last night, but was unable to listen to it until today. OMG what an incredible cd! I love it so much. It's nice to have new songs and even some of the favorites we've heard before. You are right Jeanine Ann, Tara's Theme is out of this world!! I am driving down the road and smiling as I listen to it, and hope that no one thinks I'm completely around the bend or something. I cannot wait for the dvd!
Hi Marlene, I do remember, when Tara's Theme was forbidden in Hungary, the whole movie, all the music. Isn't something? I have seen Dr Zivago, in the US, never in Hungary. So sad. I love all the music also, hardly can wait for the DVD, the beautiful colors, the dances, the Amusement Park, I am waiting to be a child again, and feel great watching it. Today, I got the French CD collection, 6 Cds, out of this World!!! I really mean it. Each CD is a collection of certain type of music, separated, what a great idea! Whoever came up with it. Kati
Hi Kati, isn't that 6 CD set a great one! I love it! Hugs
I think it does really represent Andre and the JSO. You find all the favorites and more, new ones playful ones, the ones, want you to dance on, the once you just want to sit back and enjoy, this is much more than just Johann Strauss! Much more, Chopin, Mozart, the great operettas, operas, the greatest light classical from musicals, just such great variety, this is truly for everybody!! Kati
My husband and I are looking forward to Andre's concert in December at the Honda Center in Anaheim. We've been fans for some five years. Hope Carla Maffieoletti (sp) is there for this one. We will miss Carmen Monarcha if she's really left. Andre's music takes us to a world we would like to live in - enchantment and peace.
Andre's music takes us to a world we would like to live in - enchantment and peace.
Very Well Said ! I totally agree.
Hi everyone ... no I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth, I have just been so busy, have had quite a hectic schedule at work and when I get home in the evening I get on the phone to my sister, (as some of you know, she is caring for her husband who has dementia) well poor girl is having such a tough time of it lately, I actually babysat him last weekend, he is so demanding, I literally don't know how she does it day in/day out. She has been struggling lately so I have hopefully, been her support. Sorry to ramble everyone.
Well I sent away for Andre's CD, via his website, on 5 November and I still haven't received it, I'm getting a little worried as I paid for priority mail.... hmmmm will keep waiting and hopefully my lovely surprise will arrive soon. I read that everyone that has received it is thrilled with it... I am so excited.
We had a scorcher of a day on Monday here in Perth Western Australia... it reached 39.8 celsius... sorry I don't know what that is in farenheight????? But believe me it is incredibly hot.... very unusal for Spring weather... it's cooling down a wee bit now, thank goodness..
I do hope everyone is well.... sending my famous hugs to all xxxxx Les
Hi Leslie, So good to hear from you. We did miss you. I know that what you and your sister are doing to help her husband is a wonderful thing. Bless you both.
I ordered my Wunderland CD about a week ago and I got it already and I didn't even order it priority because I had ordered the same one a few weeks ago from Amazon.de (I guess they released it early in Germany) and it would come first which i did. So I guess I was just lucky. It said Economy on the package so I guess it got in the right stack of mail or something. Yours will come soon Leslie and you will love it. Wait until you hear Tara's Theme. Andre plays it so beautifully. I cannot stop talking about it.
Please send me some of your heat. It is cold here and to get colder (40's right now). It has been gloomy and cloudy for the entire week. I thing I saw the sun come out one day for a while. We will get windy also so that will bring down most of the leaves which we have in abundance.
You and your sister take care and have a beautiful day (I guess it is night now) tomorrow. Hugs
{{{Leslie & Sister}}} = hugs
It must be difficult on your sister (and her husband), and you too as you care so much about your sister.
Does the husband respond at all? Mike Connelly shared with us that while playing an Andre Rieu video, a man who had not responded in quite a while, started to respond and even knew the song.
I just received the new CD. It takes longer to arrive on the West Coast, but the wait is worth it.
I will pop a little something in the mail to you because you need a lift too.
Your Friend...Sally
On November 17 Saturday Andre Rieu will be putting out a Christmas dvd for all of his friends in Australia ( i don't know how to spell it sorry!) but it will be a new release but i wonder if it will be formated for the U.S.? thanks all
-jeff
Hi Jeff, It is called "Andre Rieu On Holiday" and is probably a combination of two that have already been released here in the U.S. So we probably already have them but I don't know how many DVD's you have. If you need a list of all the DVD's I can get one together for you. I think I have them all and then some I found in France. Hugs to you
Dear friends. I haven't ordered the Wonderland cd as yet, but it brings to mind a statement that was made to me some years ago. That is, we all have that small child within us, that sees
the world & new adventures with wonder &
you should nurture that little child as that is what keeps us young at heart.
This goes for both men & women and it does make sense. Hope Kati was able to reschedule her jury duty. Had a similar
situation after my sister had passed away & the circuit court in Clarke county Las Vegas Nev, had her down to appear and the time of the request was so short I had to phone them to get it cancelled. Successfully I might add, but I remember talking to four or five different people, & I finally told them
that if they could bring her back from the beyond they were welcome to try. I did send them a copy of her death certificate and eventually received a very nice apology, but it was a bit trying at the time. Didn't know Gone
with the Wind was once banned in Hungary
as was dr Zhivago. Gues it was a case of not letting their people have a freedom of choice. Pretty sad when you think about it. We are so fortunate to live in N/A & have the freedoms, we so take for granted. Maybe the system isn't perfect, but the alternative is unacceptable. Nice to see you back Lesley M. Your sister has a difficult job to do, only thing worse than dementia, is alzheimers. My late husband
had some brain damage, & couldn't walk
but he was a very undemanding patient &
that made my task a bit easier. Love to all Marianne
thanks Jeanine anne!
I have about 24 or 25 andre rieu dvds so i must have those to.
-jeff
Hello everyone. I'm enjoying the new cd so much. Margie, you are so right
when you say that André's music takes us to a world we would like to live in
which is enchantment and peace. As I listen to "Wonderland" the enchantment is there...it's wonderful! The peace follows because when we are happy, there is peace.
Kati, I'm just curious, and maybe the reasons are obvious, but I cannot understand why "Dr. Zhivago" and "Tara's Theme" would be banned in Hungary? Freedom of choice...I never saw Dr. Zhivago, but I did see Gone With The Wind, and I guess there is that element of independance that dictators wish to keep from their people.
Leslie, nice to see you back. Your sister needs a gold medal, and I'm sure you give her much support. I took care of my husband for five years before he passed away. He had dementia, and the first year, well...I went through some miserable times. After I got him on some "calming" drugs, it was better...the last year was good, but tuff also. Anyway, my thoughts go to your sister, she deserves lots of love.
I was driving home a little while ago, listening to Wonderland, and the thought came to me that André is the most perfect maestro ever!
Well, I know there is more I that I would like to say, but I have a very early day tomorrow.
Take care everyone and have a great day tomorrow! ♥♥ ♫♫ Happy music!
There were a lots of things illegal under the Communist regime, I should write a book about it, things people, who always lived in freedom, would not believe! Lots of other music were on the black list also. I only can imagine, they did not wanted any uprisings, like in 1956, that wa a revolution, but the Communist called it anti-revolution. Today, the leaders of 1956 and all who died, because wanted freedom, called Martirs today. All it took a regime change, so the old Sovietunion could not tell the Eastern Europian Countries what to do and how. Kati
That is so sad, it is hard for us to imagine what it would be like to live under those circumstances. We are so unbelievably lucky to live in the US, even with all of the problems that we now have.
thanks to everyone involved in putting together this great newsletter.we appreciate receiving all the goodies you send.always looking forward to this.regards to all
Dear Marilyn Smith the song Adagio fr,
violin concert #3 in G/molle, but I do think there is a opus #6 as well, We
will keep the eyes open for that one &
pass it on when it turns up again, It's 5 a.m. & even tho I/m still tired. sleep has fled, so I'll play here until
I/m sleepy emough to go back to bed. One thing it is very quiet in the building as everyone else is in dreamland There is a new book, just out called Rhett Butler's family & friend.
it's written under the auspices of Margaret Mitchel's estate. Have ordered it so I am quite looking forward to seeing howe it compares to the original.Just finished "Amber Glass" which I found to be book 3 of a series which began with, "The Golden Compass",
Book 2 is "The Subtle Knife" A movie is to be released this coming weekend, so I hope to track down the two I missed. The author is Phillip Pullman, so I will first check in the local library. although it could be in any one of the other four villas, which make up the complex where I live. Am still trying to unknot my friend Joan's hair, At the base of he head, there is a lump like a mattress, so my next thought is to rewash the whole head. Finish off with a leave in conditioner,
& hopefully get thru it. Wil have to get access to the hair-dressing sink, which is used by a once a week hair-dresser who is away for at least another two weeks. Once I can get it all flat, I'll be able to trim off the
excess, which at present falls to her hips, so I have a lot of length to play with. First of all I have to get the use of the room, which I will do this morning, The staff comes to our building for their a.m coffee & the planning of the day. Yesterday it was
an hour plus to take a friend to the doctor. She has a hard time walking, with her badly swollen feet, ankles &
lower legs. She is in conestive heart failure but is still trucking on. Last evening, she came back to the car with the wheel chair, so I am hoping to convince her to use it to-day, when she goes for some tests at the clinic. I am
so afraid she will take a tumble & I don't think I can pick her up, so it is a bit of a quandry Anyhow the doctor doesn't seem to be too concerned, but is
I were her doc, I's have had her is hospital for the tests and immediate remedial care, which would be logical to my mind. As a person who is slowing down a bit, I am aware that having to give up some of your independence is a
hard choice, when you've always been able to do for yourself. I will convince her to use the wheel-chair when necessary, but will have to be most diplomatic so I don't ruffle too many feathers. I can't do the runs for cancer, MS & the like but I can do small things to help folks who need a bit of help. Perhaps one day I will have to depend on others for help, the slowdown is coming & will have to accept limitations
Love to all Marianne
pas
Hi Marianne. Thanks for the info about the Adagio from Violin Concerto #3.
I think it is so good of you to help out your friends. When my shelties get mats behind their ears, the only way to get it out is by untangling it with my fingers. If the mat isn't too bad, I can do it that way, but otherwise I just have to cut it out. Good luck.
I WAS RIGHT!!! Andre rieu just put a new dvd out today its called andre rieu Live in Vienna, a concert with André Rieu on the square in front of the imperial Hofburg Palace in the heart of Vienna, just as i questioned about before to see if he was giong to tape it. my question was answered!!! i cant wait to get it i ordered it but it is not in stock as of yet! hoep i am a help to you all!
-jeff
Yes Jeff you were right! I said he just might and he did. I must confess I heard about it but was not sure until I saw the pre-order. Just ordered mine. You will love it. Hugs
Jeff,
I've got my pre-order in as well.
The newsletter looks like a great idea. I am disappointed that I can't see the video. I have always been able to see the various videos that people send in. I hope I will be able to see the ones to come.
One of these days, I'll put a player right on the site, as soon as I get that ever popular never enough of .. spare time.
Happy Friday, everyone. Check André's website. There is a new DVD (it looks like this is a pre-order). "Live in Vienna". This is the concert in front of the Hofberg Palace this last summer.
Are we to be innundated with André CD/DVDs ! (Wouldn't that be nice ! )
Were you be able to pay for it priority? Kati

Thanks Joanne! Aren't they lucky to see this wonderful work on television? We are always waiting. {sigh}
I know right! thanks sally!
-jeff
This new DVD looks like another great AR production. Anyone know when it will ship? Perhaps before Christmas? What a great gift!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all and belated birthday to Suzan
Marilyn
I just ordered "Live In Vienna". I was happy to see there is another dvd out, I didn't order it "priority" because the "Wonderland" cd got to me in a little over a week. I didn't order these priority because the longer I have to wait for it, the more anticipation I build up! I know it's on the way, so I get all anxious. ha
I'm assuming that "Vienna" will ship before Christmas, it's just a guess though
Maybe you should have ordered Vienna "priority". It is outstanding! (from what I have heard) But I got my Wonderland CD in a week also so maybe service is getting better.
Does anyone have a "My Space" page? I just did one but it is still under construction. Address is: www.myspace.com/andrerieufriend Hugs to all
Hi Jeanine Ann: I also have a my space web page as you know and would like to share it will eveyone also. address is www.myspace.com/audie5. Would like to see you all there also. I am also new at my space and still working on it with some goofs and then again no goofs but it is fun to do. Love and hugs to all. Aud
hey everyone as jeanine ann said she has a andre rieu myspace. so do i!
its www.myspace.com/andrerieuandthejso
please add me as a friend if you have one! thanks for the great idea to put it on here jeanine ann!
-jeff
Yup that me jeanine ann!!! what a small world is right i saw that u have me on your top friends and i want to say thank you i put you on mine also!
talk to you soon!
-jeff
Those are nice sites you both have.
Thank you Sally, these sites are so much fun. I found a site with a parakete singing "row, row, row your boat", it said Andre Rieu site but then I scrolled down and found so many beautiful photos of Andre - I was having a ball!! Hugs
I just watched episode 6 of Andre's Fairytale, and all I can say is "WOW!"
There are some tears, problems, triumphs, laughter and a surprise at the end.
I sure hope Andre and company will release a DVD of the soap as they did with Road to New York
That last episode of the soap was just outstanding! I guarantee you will be crying at the end, as I was. Hugs
I love these inside looks at Andre Rieu & his JSO. We used to have the year end "highlight" CDs. Now we have these behind the scene DVDs. They started with Welcome To My World, but the soaps are really hot and a great look at how all of the Rieu Crew works, and their world. I think they are Terrific!
hey sally,
its funny that u mentioned the dvd welcome to my world i hav ebeen looking everywhere for that dvd. do u have any idea where i can buy it???
thanks
-jeff
Jeff, I was given the DVD by PBS as a thank you for purchasing the top-level tickets for an André Rieu concert. I have never seen it for sale. Unlike the Road Soaps, Welcome To My World/Just For You takes a closer look at André in his personal life and has a feature of sons Marc & Pierre. It is intimate. I am certain it would be another bestseller should André ever offer it for sale.
i just read andre rieu's little message on his front page and is he giong to be putting the dvd on his website for sale or not i dont see it there but i did see it on amazon.com. i am confused lol!
-jeff
Do you know when Andre is coming to Brisbane and when the tickets will go on sale.
Regards
Hi Trish,
At this time we have no information on specific dates of concerts nor do we know when the tickets will go on sale. Keep checking back with us because we will post the information as soon as we have it. Hugs to you
Trish, I would suggest you go to www.ticketmaster.com.au and register now so that it will speed things up when you try to buy tickets.
A couple of weeks ago when ticket sales opened for the July 4th concert in Maastricht, ticketmaster.nl almost went into meltdown due to so many simultaneous requests. And popular concerts sell fast. Here in Edmonton, the Celine Dionne concert sold out in 13 minutes.
I can see the possibility of two concerts being produced on DVDs in the next year - Toronto and Australia. What do you think? Am I correct?
Yes I can Al, especially when Andre has asked that the concert goers dress "stylish an fancy"!
Hugs
I think you are on to something Al. Look at this month. 2 new DVDs from André. One from Vienna, the other from Efteling.
I think a DVD of Andre in Australia would be wonderful. And Toronto has always been kind to Andre. Wonderful location, great people, scenic landscape. That would certainly make a good backdrop for a DVD.
That and everyone keep your eyes on Central Park!
Hmmm. Wonder what that could be. It seems like I have heard something about Central Park before! Will stay tuned.
Hi Jeanine Ann, Sally & Marlene, thank you for those lovely messages, it makes me feel like I have some special people out there that REALLY care. I pass all you good wishes, hugs and prayers onto my sister, Mavis.... I went to visit her yesterday (Sunday) I took her a beautiful bunch of spring flowers, she cried when I gave them to her .... dead give away that she is feeling fairly flat at the moment, it tickles me pink to do things for other people... I get more joy from doing this than receiving. I am definitely a giver...
I ordered "Live in Vienna" yesterday, from Andre's official website, so I have 3 things on order now... I can't wait to receive them.
I also purchased "Andre Rieu on Holiday" from JB HiFi... it's a fabulous dvd to have in your library. Think I've got over 25 dvd's now ... if anybody is interested in all the titles I have, I would be more than happy to provide these, although I probably suspect that all of us have each and every copy ha ha ha....
Well my darling friends, thanks for letting me ramble on and on... Will be back online soon xxxxxx warmest hugs Les
Hi dear Leslie, you are such a kind person to help your sister. I truly hope all will be well for you both. I am praying for all of you.
Hope you get your Andre items soon. You will love Vienna. It is a beautiful concert. Glad you got Andre's "Holiday". I know you will love it.
You take care of yourself and I wish only the best for you, your sister and her husband. Hugs to all of you
We sent this to Andre. I hope we hear from him, and hear him play this. Does everyone have a song they would like to hear him play?
Dear Andre,
Early last February we sent you sheetmusic for one of my favorite songs,"Minnesota Morning"composed by Jeff Brooks, a local musician. I have liked it since back in the 80's and thought it would be perfect for your Minnesota concerts. We received a letter back stating that it would be put into your music library.
Since then it has had a giant come back. I last saw it on 2 different CD disks 150 miles from St. Paul , advertized on a huge billboard on a major interstae freeway, also played on WCCO radio, a major radio station here.
I have nothing to do with this recent revival but I do think this is the perfect time to perform it, the opportunity is now!
I hope you will agree.
My husband John and I are looking forward to your concert.
Your friends in peace,
John and Mary
from the "St Pauls
Hi John and Mary,
That is so nice of you to write to Andre. I hope too you hear from him and it would be wonderful if he could play that song. I would like to hear it myself!
Please keep coming back to post here. We would love to hear from you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Hugs to you both
I have only recently discovered André by accident down in New Zealand
So ar little hope of getting him here, but thought you might be able to help
me with obtaining a postal address so I can request an autographed picture
until i try to catch a concert live in Europe or the States
Thanks
Ken
Auckland, NZ
Hi Ken, so nice to have you here with us. Is there any way you can get to a concert in Australia next December, 2008?
In the meantime, contact Andre's web site at: www.andrerieu.com and see what they can do for you and check out all the CD's and DVD's and fan items in the Boutique.
Come back often to post here. Hugs to you
HI KEN. I'VE SENT YOU A PRIVATE EMAIL.
hey ken,
you can purchase an andre rieu autograph in his botique there really nice. they are a little pricey but for andre its worth it. go cheack it out there really great!
-jeff
hey everyone!!! i just got my andre rieu ambassador supplies and my concert is not until may! it is so cool they give you catalogs and 2 andre rieu buttons. wow i am so excited!
-jeff
Hey Jeff - join the crowd - mine came today also! Yippeeeee I am excited too!!!
Jeanine Ann, Good for you. A lot of Andre Rieu fans and Friends are becoming Ambassadors.
All my best
DJ Bob
I have just today my packet also to be a ambassador for Denon at Andre Rieu's upcoming concert on April 25th 2008 in Jacksonville Florida. I am really looking forward to this concert!!
All my best!
Bob Ruark
Robert, you didn't need a packet to become an André ambassador! You already are one! You went to Russia didn't you?
Shirley, I guess you are right, but its a big world out there to continue to spread the word!!
DJ Bob
Ok...just lost everything I wrote. Will try again.
I guess there are a lot of happy André Ambassadors today! I got my packet today also! I'm so excited. I couldn't wait to rip it open and see what they had sent me. The catalogs are great, and they sent enough to keep me busy for awhile...and I love the buttons, and will wear them proudly. I have already been to my concerts this year, but can pass the catalogs out all year.
I didn't even have to open my packet Marlene - I couldn't believe the packet was completely open and there were two packets of brochures and luckily the buttons were there at the bottom. Everything was stuffed in the mailbox but I think one packet fell out because I think we should get one packet per concert and I am going to three next year (maybe four if Central Park works out) so maybe I can get another packet for the third concert. Maybe they will send us a mug later! Hugs
Well, mine arrived today also open. I don't think anything was missing. I got two packets and I had told them Toronto and Bridgeport to start. Does anyone know if we can use them in Toronto? I will be going to more but don't know where yet. Jeanine Ann, do you think there is a real possibility of Central Park? It's taking an awful chance with the weather. I believe it was one of the soaps where Andre said that if it rained the audience could just put up their umbrellas and watch the screens. I'm sorry, but I do not agree with him. I feel there should be no umbrellas. If I decide to sit in the rain I don't want umbrellas in front of me. Ponchos or raincoats and rainhats, ok.! I don't disagree with Andre on much, but I do on umbrellas!.
Hi Virginia, I think Andre just means rain gear like ponchos, etc because as I understand fans in Maastricht had umbrellas and people could not see so he told them to remove the umbrellas. But if and when there is a Central Park concert, and we do not know at this time, lets pray for a sunny day. Hugs
Mine arrived yesterday. Everything was intact. Did you notice the postage? $15.80
Only 21 days till I get to see André for the 3rd time on 8 Dec 2007 here in Phoenix, AZ. And I can assure you I will proudly display my Official André Rieu Ambassador button.
Bill in Arizona
I DO WANT A PICTURE OF YOU BILL, WITH YOUYR AMBASSADOR BOTTON! REMEMBER, I MADE ONE OF MYSELF? HOPE, TO HAVE SOME MORE, SINCE I AM GOING TO SACRAMENTO, THIS COMING SUNDAY!! I HAVE MY PACKAGE ALREADY, SOME TIME AGO, THEY DO KNOW ME VERY WELL! I DO NOT KNOW, IF THAT IS A GOOD THING? WHAT DO YOU SAY MR. BILL? KATI
Hi fans! I also got my packet today, wow it is heavy. It was not torn though and everything made it just fine.
I am so excited. My friend Vernice and I are flying to Sacramento for the Dec 2nd concert. Last year was so much fun with Sally and all, we can hardly wait. I am thrilled that I don't have to drive that far this year. I am looking forward to meeting Miss Kati, and thought maybe she would lead the conga line, since I did it last time. I sure like the road soaps and the new dvd from Efteling, at least the first part, WoW they did a fantastic job. I am totally amazed.
I hope you all have a super Thanksgiving
Marilyn B
YOU CAN COUNT ON ME FOR SURE!! I WILL BE THERE. SNOW IS COMING AGAIN, MAYBE MAKE AN EXPRESS PACKAGE FOR MR. BILL? KATI
Oh yeah...a mug would be nice!
Thanks for the email Betina. If you liked that puzzle, you can go to the Webmaster page. I've had puzzles there for over 2 years. I think I started a trend in them, and it's great everyone is getting on board!
Wow how exciting for you all to be getting your Ambassador packages. Do you think I could become one for his Australian Concerts.... What do I have to do please?????
I am getting so excited for all of you attending concerts soon ... I am so ENVIOUS!!!!
Hey wouldn't it be fun for some Aussie fans to attend some concerts in the USA/Canada ... that would be a dream come true to not only meet some of my new warm friends but I get to see Andre as well .... what more could a girl wish for?????????????
How could I ever feel alone knowing you are all out there thinking of me just like I am thinking of you ....
Have a lovely day ... wherever you are in the world and please know... I AM THINKING OF YOU ... warmest hugs Les xxxxxxxxx
Hi Lesley, your excitement is certainly contagious! I think the Ambassador thing is only for the US people. But my goodness, all of you in Australia have shown us all what an "ambassador" is really all about & that is helping to spread the word about André. Look at what you have done in helping with record sales to explode. I would say we all could follow your example. You all impressed André so much that he is willing to come to your country. If that's not an "ambassador" I don't know what is!
Hi Leslie: This promotion is from Denon, Andre's American Label. I think Universal is the Label for Australia, but you can check on that as I am not 100% certain. This is an US promotion only.
I would love it if you could attend a concert or two or three here! Bring your Aussie Flag, Friends and Smiles. It would be great.
I think this is a great idea and maybe Universal will pickup on it and have something similar.
I am going to send you a package this weekend, and put a little something in it.
Oh Shirley & Sally, you are both angels without wings ....
I adore that you can make me smile and cry at the same time..... it's called happiness. I suppose you may have gathered that I am a very emotional person, I can look at a tv commercial and cry, if it's touching.... silly me.
Sorry this is such a short message, but I have just got home from work, it's quite late and I haven't eaten anything .... so off to make myself something to eat.
Nitey Nite.. sleep tight xxxxx famous Les hugs xxxxx
hey all!
not that i care what the special gift is for being an ambassador beacause i would do any thing for andre for free. but i wonder what the gift is?? does anyone have any ideas??
please write back.
-jeff
Hi Jeanine Ann,
Do you have my email address? Can you email me so I can send something to you.
Thanks
Marilyn
Yes Virginia I do have your email address so I will email you. Hugs
I am sorry - I meant Marilyn I do have your address. Hugs
Hi Gabrielle from Garden Suburb. I haven't heard from you yet. I hope everything is OK with you. Please contact Sally the webmommie and she will give you my email address so we can arrange to have coffee and discuss our favourite Maestro.
Hope to hear from you soon
Good Morning all, please keep good thoughts for us as my sister has her second corneal transplant today. We wish you all a blessed Thanksgiving.
Dear Shirley, my prayers are with you and your sister as always. I know all will be ok for her and you both will have something special to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Special hugs

-jeff
That is strange Jeff, I have 4 concerts and didn't get enough. I only got two stacks and 2 buttons. The buttons are ok but I must request 2 more sets of brochures. I don't know what they are doing! Hugs
Have you noticed the message on Andre's site? The dates and ticket sales for the Australia tour will be announced in about four weeks.
I just may go.
Hello everyone. I just want to wish all of you a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING tomorrow! I hope it's a wonderful day for you.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD ----
TURKEY!
Don't forget to give thanks to God for all you have and will have! Holiday Hugs
Hi everyone - On Andre's site there are photos of the rehearsal for Toronto!!! Great photos of the JSO and Andre all working hard to make us happy! Another reason to give thanks. Hugs
Hi Everyone,
I have just watched the dvd "Andre in Wonderland". I bought it just over 3 hours ago from my local ABC shop. They rang this evening to say that the copy I had ordered had arrived. I went straight up to the shopping centre (thank goodness for late night shopping tonight). I bought home & put it straight on. It is truly amazing. The cd was great but this is...."WONDERFUL".
I will have to watch it a number of times to take it all in. Mirusia has done us Aussies proud. Brian Dickerson has such a powerful voice. The camera work is amazing. There is so much I could say but I will let you see for yourselves!!!!! Can't wait to read what others think.
Thank you to Andre and Marjorie, Pierre, JSO, soloists, Crew and the Effeling cast for a truly wonderful experience.
Happy Thanksgiving to All Fans & Friends Around The World
Happy Thanksgiving
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU! SALLY, I LOVE THIS PICTURE, I HAVE A SIMILAR PICTURE IN MY MIND OF MY DOG, CENTA! KATI
Dear Friends. Just finished watched all six episodes of the recent road soaps &
I was impressed by the content & effort that goes into making the dvds & cds.
That's just regular stuff, so one can imagine the work that has gone into the stadium tour, which begins with the Toronto concert Dec 14th/07 A lot of the sets and equipment is already enroute by sea. Five days to assemble,
which is not a lot of time. Our friend
Grayeme wrote earlier that the logistics are almost to the undoable & I agree. When the dream becomes reality
the kudos should be to Pierre, his staff
and the crew who also do yeomans job.
I would like to know what Sprookijesland actually mean. Think I misspelled the word, but I think it may be Dutch for fairyland
Efteling is quite a wonderful place to visit. Much like Disneyland/Disneyworld
The fairy tales are old world, Hans Cristian Anderson, the Brothers Grimm etc, but the stories are those which I grew up with & still have a copy of all the tales in one book, except Bambi, which was written by Felix Salten. It is strange just how much the recent movie trend is going to the fantasy realm."Enchanted" which comes out to-day
& the "Golden Compass" which will be in theatres next week. This last is part of a trilogy so there might be two other
movies to come. I do think this kind of fare appeals to folks as we have all had enough of stark reality the past few years and a bit of fantasy to lighten the heavy load of sorrow in the world, is a welcome change. We just lost
a long time resident in the past week,
wo died alone, unsung, & neglected by his family, but his friends will remember him. His special friend is a chum of mine & she is totally upset by the way his family has literally swept his passing under the carpet. This was a man who served his country as a naval rating, in WW2. He ran away from home at age 12, & spent his life on ships sailing around the world. His stories told to me & his pals were fascinating, so I hope to write a small history of what I know for posterity. Next project
We had our pot-luck last Tuesday, What a day!! Took an ailing resident to Emerg
Tuesday a.m, waited a while, then came home to put the ham in the oven @ 1p.m.
It wasn't heated thru by 4:15 as my oven was not working right. Also went to G/S Andy's volleyball game & stood around until the old back told me I'd better go & get flat before dinner. Over
did the effort so yesterday I managed to catch a miserable sneezy cold, first on in ages, but am better to-day. Constant sneezing just exhausts one!!so
I will pop some vitamin c and eat a couple of oranges which whould clear this all up in a hurry. Hope everyone is well Love Marianne
Hi there: Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving. Hugs to all. Aud
happy thanksgiving every one only 2 more days until andre rieu in wonderland comes out on andres site i cant wait!!!!

Help please!! Are you able to tell me on which discs Andre has recorded The Anniversary Waltz? I have searched everywhere (Ithink)without success. Your assistance would be really appreciated. Many thanks Tony
Before you begin your search, try to recall if the music has a name different other than Anniversary Waltz. The real name may be in German or French.
The best place to look would be on Andre's website /enter his website/click on Boutique/click on CD/then individually go down through the list looking for the sound track of each CD.
If you don't find it on his CD's, then you must repleat the process looking on his DVD's.
hi Tony. the Anniversary Waltz is called 'Waves of the Danube' and I think you will find it is the 2nd number on the DVD 'la Vie est Belle'
I think the Anniversary Waltz is also called "Danube Love". Hugs
What I really wanted to tell you is Andre's DVD Wonderland is now available in the Boutique as a pre-order. I just ordered it!! Hugs
Jeanine Ann, I know, I ordered it the moment I received the email for them. His other DVD in Vienna is also a pre order also. I hope they are sent before Christmas.
My best to all
Bob Ruark
Hi Bob and everyone, I hope too we get them before Christmas. I put the Wonderland on Priority but not the Vienna so I will see what happens. Hope everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving. Hugs

Official André Rieu Ambassador
Mr. Bill AZ, thank-eeee, just received my envelope from thee-eee. You are too much, now I am wondering how and where you managed return lables. I also rec'd mt CD in Wonderland, also a Poster of André which came too me "crushed"/cracked open, and the poster is damaged, so looks like I will be contacting somebody. Has anyone ever dealt with "damaged" goods?? Also ordered my DVD also. This PC is becoming dangerous for me, as the past three days I have just said "Charge"....also, Sinterklass was a very nice site which I ran across last year. Spent Thanksgiving at a "homeless shelter" this year passing out meals to some incredible wonderful people who are down on their luck. I came home with a song in my heart and felt soo "blessed". Thanks again........snow-balls and hugs to all.
Hi Judith, Just email the help desk and they will see that you get a new poster. They are very nice to deal with. That was a wonderful thing for you to do on Thanksgiving. I would love to do that and have never had a chance. Maybe I will just find a shelter next year and do it. Good for you. You should feel "blessed". Hugs to you, snowballs later!
JA Many thanks for your reply. I obviously didn't look hard enough!! I don't why the Perth radio station insists on calling it the Anniversary Waltz. Anyway, to all that showed me the way, thank you. Tony H
Thanks Adele: That’s what I like about this blog… All the fans share and help other fans. I think Andre would be happy with that.
(and I know Tony will be)
Thanks for this great site on the maestro. I dont think I'll ever get enough of him
Hi Jess,
It looks like this is your very first comment on this blog. I'd like to extend a hearty welcome; participation on this website will greatly increase your enjoyment of André & the JSO orchestra.
You'll find everything that is known about André the JSO will be discussed here.

Good morning loyal André fans. This seems to be the day they call "Black Friday", the shopping day after Thanksgiving. I, for one, do not ever venture out on this day to fight the crowds, so imagine my surprise when Dan says he is going out to the mall! Some of the stores open at 4am or 6am and here it was 7am. I tried to tell him that there would be a mess out there, but he went out anyway. About 30 minutes later I hear the front door open & here he is back, with his shopping bag. He had found what he was looking for. I couldn't believe it! I've never been that fast a shopper in my life, especially on a day like this! Seems he got a choice front door spot right off, as a car pulled out of the space, he goes in, finds what he wants, 2nd in line, pays and leaves. I am still in shock! Anyway, I stayed home and shopped in the boutique! Preordered my Wunderland dvd & a couple other things. But Dan got his done before I did! I still can't believe it!!!!
Some stores opened midnight!! I never go near them either! He is one lucky man! Kati
Well, ding dang dong… I wish I had sent Dan my list! He is an excellent shopper!
Dan would give them a run for their money!
I think they have people who are paid to do that.
Hi everyone,
I recieved my AR poster yesterday so I've taken down the shop with the AR signed violin to have it all mounted in a display cabinet. The final touch was to put a gold plaque on the base and I don't know if I should just have "Andre Rieu" or include something else. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. The bad news is it won't be ready for Christmas to give to my father. It should be ready in mid Jan 08. Thanks again for everyones help.
Gary
Hi Gary, If it were mine, I would have the plaque inscribed: Signed by Andre in Australia, September 22, 2007 (check that date Gary, going from memory) or use his full name, whatever you think. You could also mention Eastland Mall, depends how large you want to have the plaque.
Hi everyone, has anyone ordered the December issue of Limelight with the Andre DVD inside? I am not sure what is on it and wondered if anyone else knows the contents. Thanks. Hugs
Hi all, who was looking for Andre's DVD "Welcome To My World"? I just noticed that it sold on Ebay for $122.50. Hugs
OMGosh.. Wow Wee. That’s a lot of moola. Just shows how us fans are hungry for all things Andre.
Wow. I can't imagine selling my copy.
hi everyone
got the limelight issue this morning played the dvd its great .
have a great day
Wow Dora, That’s Great!
How cool to have the DVD Andre made especially for Australian fans.
All of you out there Fans, Andre in Wunderland DVD is available for preorder! Kati
I was following an audction on ebay for a "welcome to my world" DVD with the intent of bidding, but in the final hours there seemed to be a bidding war. When all was said and done, a person called Andreslady won the DVD for $122.50.
Thanks Jeanine
Heres another one but I might sit on it till christmas

Gary, are you putting on this...in a plaque or otherwise that this is a gift from .. son Gary to his Dad on Christmas 2007? something like that?
I think as nice a gift as this is, the best gift is that it is from you.
Just a thought.
Hello everyone. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I DID NOT go shopping today...no way. Never have gone shopping on Black Friday, it's just not worth it to me. I would rather catch a few more z's in my nice, cozy home...peace and quiet, warm. I will shop..in my own time
I just ordered my Wonderland dvd. Can't wait to get it!
I would have loved to have "Welcome To My World". I thought for sure that I would be getting one, but I guess not. Maybe someday. I'm happy for the person who was able to bid that high to get it.
It's very cold here tonight. I have an early day so I will be defrosting the windshield in the morning. brrrrrrr
Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
My husband & I are avid fans & attended the concert in NYC about a yearand one half ago..would like to know what DVD we can purchase that contains the 3 lovely ladies in black singing a segment from Beethoven..sorry we cannot give more info, but if you could help & maybe even tell us where to get the DVD that would be great...thanks...hope to see Andre in Reading PA next May
Good morning, Joan. It sounds like the piece you are asking about is "All Men Shall Be Brothers" (Ode to Joy) from Beethoven's 9th symphony. It is on André Rieu in Tuscany and his "Live in Dublin" DVDs. They both can be purchased on his website and I've seen them in US stores like Barnes and Noble and probably anywhere that sells CDs and DVDs. Good luck
Thank you Marilyn! I could see Carmen, Carla & Suzan in my mind but was far too tired to think of what concert it was.
I will email Joan with your comment to be certain she sees that you helped her with her question.
Greetings. May I suggest you try
www.deepdiscount.com
In search box key in Andre Rieu and search the Entire Site.
There are about 4 pages of DVDs and CDs.
Total price for each is listed; postage is INCLUDED.
I think the DVD you want is New York Memories.
I have ordered from this company several times and each time my purchase was correct; I have had zero problems with the DVDs and CDs.
Hope this helps; have a great holiday.
Joanne
I've used DeepDiscount many times without problem too. I check to see who has the lowest cost for BallyKissAngel. I love that show and now have every DVD made of it. I even have the BallyKissAngel Trail, a short behind the scene look.
I am really a mushy movie and tv watcher. My favorites are:
1. All Creatures Great & Small (British)
As for American TV, I would say I enjoy the comedies over dramas2. BallyKissAngel (Irish)
3. Road To Avonlea (Canadian)
The Dick Van Dyke Show (anything with Dick Van Dyke)
What about everyone else?Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond
Two & a Half Men (but it's getting stale)
I don't watch a lot of TV as I am more of a reader. I love books. But I remember watching All Creatures Great & Small. I just loved it as I really love the book series. I think there are 4 or 5 books in the series and they are jam-packed with the Dr. Herriot and his adventures with the animals he treated. They are wonderful books and I have read the whole series 4 or 5 times over the years. I highly recommend them for animal lovers.
Hi Marilyn, Yes, that is how I came to watch the series. I loved those books too!
Here are a few sites:
James Herriot . org
Books by James Herriot
Thanks, Sally. That is a great story. Thank you for the links. I will check them out. Happy Saturday.
Gosh, favorite movies, books, tv shows? So many! Movies? I always liked anything musical or romantic. Books? Always loved reading, when our daughter was quite small, always bought the Golden Books, so she's an avid reader also.( Guess that's why she loves working in the library), we went thorough the Little House series, the Anne of Green Gables, the Secret Garden, etc. I like to read just about anything, especially like John Grisham books, even the non legal ones, anything about animals, people, you name it. TV is a little harder, especially now. Loved the Walton series, lots of older Walt Disney, comedy shows(older ones). Sally, I haven't read too much of James Herriot's, except the Cat Stories, didn't know about Bally Kiss Angel either. Anything anybody mentions that I've not seen, read or heard, I'll always check out. Who was it that had mentioned the book about sparrows? I really enjoyed that one, it was certainly different.
Hi Shirley. It may have been me who mentioned a sparrow book. The one I mentioned was "Providence of a Sparrow".
Another reason why I liked the Herriot books was that he not only talked and wrote about the animals, but also about the people, and his partners in their practice. He was a great story teller. Right at the moment, my favorite books are either historical mysteries , cozy mysteries, or any mysteries that are interesting, fun, funny, or otherwise entertaining. Some of my current favorites are Aaron Elkins (a forensic anthropologist who ends up solving mysteries in various places around the world), Nancy Fairbanks, Susanna Gregory (she has a terrific series about a 14th century physician Matthew Bartholomew), also Donna Andrews, whose first 2 books "Murder with Peacocks" and "Murder with Puffins" I particularly enjoyed. All of these authors are skilled writers and know how to write in interesting and entertaining ways. I am really a bookaholic.
EVERY BOOK TEACHES US SOMETHING, AREN'T THEY? KATI
THESE ARE ALL CHINESE TO ME. JUST A VERY MUCH DIFFERENT TASTE IN TV PROGRAMS. THAT DOES NOT MAKE ME A BAD PERSON, LIKE MR. BILL WOULD THINK, AND WOULD LOVE TO SNOWBALL ME. LUCKY FOR ME, THAT WHEN NEXT TIME, I AM PLANNING MY CONCERT IN PHOENIX ARIZONA, I WILL HAVE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR MR. BILL! KATI
Great site, its' worth to check it out. I already have all those DVDs. Kati

Link from TROS-TV - Andre Rieu in Sprookjesland.
Hi Jeanine. This is the link I have been using to watch the first half of AR in Sprookjesland. However, it's not listing the second half to watch. I'm wondering why not since one also has a choice of watching the 6 installment of the soaps. Have you been able to watch the 2nd half of AR in Sprookjesland? The 1st half was so terrific I am really wanting to watch the 2nd half. Is anyone else having the same problem?
No Marilyn they did not list the 2nd half that I saw. I am dying to see it too. Loved that 1st half. If I find it, I will post it. Hugs
Marilyn, I just saw that the 2nd half would be aired next Friday which would have made it yesterday Friday, November 23rd but I am not sure now. Will keep checking. Hugs
Hi Jeanine. Yes, I thought that yesterday, the 23rd, was when they were supposed to air it. Hugs
Dear friends. I didn't realize that "Ode to Joy" & "All men shall be brothers", were one & the same melody.
It is also the official theme song of the summer & winter Olympics. so we'll
be hearing it often in 2010. Belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Canada
celebrates Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October as the weather is usually still okay & the mountain passes not yet full of fog, snow & black ice. Love to all Marianne
Won't you all please join with me in sending this to Kati
She richly deserves them <giggle>
Hey Mr Bill, I did this thing but I am so ashamed!
Cause Kati first threatened to throw snow balls at me. I decided to get her, before she got me <g>
Bill, I will get you one day!! When you least expected! Kati
HI MR. BILL! I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH SNOW BALL YET, JUST VERY COLD, BUT MAYBE IN A WEEK OR SO MORE COMING, I WILL COLLECT A BOX FULL, AND WILL SEND IT TO YOU PRIORITY OVERNIGHT, MAYB IT WILL BE A LITTLE YELLOW OR MAYBE CHARTREUSE? OK? JUST REMEMBER, I DO KNOW, WHERE YOU LIVE! KATI
Hi Marianne. The way I understand it is the "Ode to Joy" is the name of Schiller's poem, which contains the phrase "All men shall be brothers". Beethoven always wanted to set that poem to music and that he did in his magnificent 9th Symphony. Best wishes, Marilyn
We know Andre loves animals. Andre will again be working with horses!
Read Article
Of course, we have seen horses in a number of André's videos and concerts. After Andre and his JSO return from the December tours, he will discuss this new venture further and at that time we should learn more.
That's Andre, always bringing something for us to look forward to....
This is very interesting. In what capacity would he be working, the music part? A horse show would be nice to have a bit of music, such as the lipizzaners have. There was a lot of Strauss music played. This will be great to see how this progresses.
I remember loaning The Flying Dutchman DVD to a coworker of mine who loves and owns horses. She said when she saw the horses 'waltzing' it made her cry. She loved it. She could not believe such a famous entertainer would bring horses into his concert. She became a fan of Andre Rieu & his JSO and of Andre Rieu the man.
dear friends. I just learned something new. Johann Schiller (1759-1805) was a
contemporary of Beethoven(1770-1827) so\it is quite possible for them to have been know to each other, & no matter how it came about It has made for a very beautiful sentiment and a very lovely song Love Marianne
Hey, Marianne, that's an interesting bit of information. I love these little musical facts. Thanks for looking it up. Hugs, Marilyn
Hi everyone, Sorry I haven't been on for a number of days, I have been at the hospital with my Sister, her husband was taken in by ambulance on Friday evening. I have some news for those who know that my sister(Mavis) is a carer for her husband he has dementia. They are now keeping him in hospital until a permanent placement in a nursing home becomes available. Very sad situation but best for him and also best for my sis.... he can get the one on one care that he needs and my sister can have a bit of a rest... anyway enough of that ... I have read all your lovely comments about fave tv shows ... I must say Sally I absolutely adored All Creatures Great and Small also BallyKissAngel.... what wonderful programmes they were. Did you ever watch Darling Buds of May with Catherine Zeta Jones, that is how she actually started before she made a HUGE name for herself. If you can get hold of the series, you wouldn't be disappointed ... lovely series.
I still haven't received my CD of Andre in Wunderland which I ordered from his official website ... I ordered it on 5 November.... think I may have to send them an email...
I read with very much excitement on Andre's official site that tickets for his Australian concerts go on sale in approx 4 weeks.... Yipppeeeeeee!!!
Well my lovely friends, it's Sunday night here in Australia and I have a very busy week ahead, so gonna say nighty nite, sleep tight xxx talk thru the week.. Hugs from Les xxxxxxx
Darling Buds of May with Catherine Zeta Jones
I have never heard of this before. Thanks to the suggestion, I will have to see if I can find it.
dear Jeanine Ann. Just tried to join your My space site & it tells me my E-mail is already in use. Since it is the first time I have tried the site I am a bit puzzled. Can you E-mail an answer?

RENE, YOU HAVE TO KNOW, THAT YOUR DOG DOES NOT SUFFER NO MORE. MY PREVIOUS DOG'S NAME WAS ASTA, NEVER WILL FORGET HER EITHER, SHE WAS JUST 7, A GOLDEN RETRIEVER, SHE IS WITH MY HUSBAND NOW, BOTH IN HEAVEN. MY CURRENT GERMAN SHEPHARD IS 11, CANNOT EXPECT MIRACLES, SHE WILL GO ONE DAY ALSO. THAT IS GOING TO BE THE SADDEST DAY OF MY LIFE. MY SYMPATHY GOES TO YOU! THINKING OF YOU! KATI
Hi René. Being a dog lover and dog owner for many years, I can totally sympathize with you. Remember the gift Asta gave you with her companionship and just being there, and all of the other things we learn about life from our dogs. Hugs, Marilyn
Dear René, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Asta was a beautiful dog and I know you will miss her very much. We have all lost a precious pet and it is not easy in any way. They say that time heals, but it is still heavy on our hearts.
I'm sure you were a perfect friend to her, you loved her and cared for her all her years. She will be missed but she will be waiting for you and someday you will see her again.
My best to you René, take care and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. With love and hugs, Marlene.
Hi Dear Marianne, Just go to www.myspace.com/andrerieufriend

Hello Jeanine Ann, I just visited your "space" - W-O-W, how do you get such life like photo's of the "Boss"? Trying to print would not do "him" justice. Sorry if I am drooooling on this page. You tease me Jeanine Ann. I have PBS on, they have a Boy's Choir from the south of England on - "Angel Voices", a concert from Holland. I am sure we will see them in one of André's Concerts - they are angelic of course, not to mention the talent/charm/poise- they are ages 9 to 14 years old, with as they tell the audience, more little voices are at home in training. The name of this absolute wonderful group is: LIBERA.... PBS has their CD's and DVD's. Classical little wonders whohave been touring Europe. Title of CD/DVD's is: "ANGEL VOICES"....remember, you heard it here. Hugs with Angel Voices.
Hi Judith, thank you Judith. Glad you like my page. I hope you did not drool too much
Me again Jeanine Ann, just to get this right. They recorded this at St Peter's Church in Holland - they come from the south of London - first appearance on the PBS station - recorder 2007 - Say good nite Gracie: "Good-nite".
Hi Jeanine. I just visited your website. What terrific pictures of André. Some real good ones I hadn't seen before. it will be fun to check out again. Hugs, Marilyn
René, it is so sad to hear about your beloved friend, Asta.As animal lovers ourselves, we feel your pain. Peace to you.
My dear Leslie (Mitchell) I am so sorry that your sister's husband was taken to the hospital but he will be in a good nursing home soon and they will be able to give him specialized care that your sister cannot. I know they can never give him all the love and special feelings that went into the care that Mavis gives but she can get some rest so that she can visit with him and that will be wonderful for him and for her. Please tell her that they both (and you) have great friends here who pray for all of you every day. Please keep us posted and you take care. I hope your Wonderland CD comes soon. Did you order the DVD? I know they will bring you happiness. Hugs from me
Amen. I am thinking of Lesley today and sending a little care package her way. Nice as Lesley is, I know she will share with her sister.
Lesley, I am thinking of you and your sister, as well as her beloved husband. May you all be well.
~Sally~
I DO HAVE A HUNGARIAN SAYING TO YOU ALL! THE BEST I COULD TRANSLATE IT, PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE'S WOLVES!ISN'T THIS TRUE? KATI
Amen to That. I think I can name a few!
Dear Fans & Friends: Today we have a Question:
Who is the bigger draw, Andre Rieu or Led Zeppelin?
Auf noch 50.000 Zuschauer kam bei SAT 1 in der Nacht zum 26. November "Music Special: Led Zeppelin - Live".
On November 26, 50,000 spectators watched: Led Zeppelin-Live
"Unsere Besten – Musikstars aller Zeiten". 940.000 Zuschauer begleiteten "Andre Rieu auf seinem Weg nach New York" am 25. November im WDR.
Our Best Music Star of All Times: 940,000 spectators watched "Andre Rieu On The Road To New York" on November 25th
Sally, when I first saw this question I knew what my answer would be.
OMG Shirley I did not think about the age being the same. Yes they are around the same age!! Wow, what a difference. I like L Zeppelin. Even have a few of their albums, from long ago, and bought one on CD. But they are no Andre that is for sure. Now that you mention this, I cannot get over the difference.
Hi everybody, hope you have all had a lovely day wherever you are in the world. Sally I have been onto ebay and found a complete set of the series "Darling Buds of May" if I am the successful bidder, I will send them your way. I wonder if anybody else saw the series. It was shown on the BBC English television.
I passed on all your good wishes to my sister Mavis ... she got very teary and thinks it's wonderful that people who don't even know us say such wonderful things and send lovely wishes our way. She does not have access to a computer so I read all your comments out to her over the phone when I speak with her each night. She is feeling very lost and guilty for putting Bill into hospital, but I am hoping this will pass. Probably not used to having all this free time up her sleeve. She went to the movies with a friend today which she hasn't done in years ... think she enjoyed it.
Well my darlings, this was just a quick message to you all to say hi
I still haven't recieved my CD Andre in Wonderland and DVD's, Vienna and Andre in Wonderland, I get off the bus each night after work very excited only to be disappointed when there is nothing at my doorstep... Oh well, you know what they say .... "All good things come to those who wait".... Hugs to you all xxxxx Les
Hello Leslie, I can sympatize with your sister about putting her husband in a hospital. I took care of my husband, who had dementia, for five years, and it was not easy in any way. I couldn't put him in a home because I loved him too much. We'd been through too much together. Anyway, I almost had to place him the first year because he was so combative with me, and it was challenging to say the least, keeping him from getting the car keys, his hallucinations and health situation, all combined made for quite a time. Had it not been for my mom and brother, I just don't know what I would have done. Your sister is alone, and it would have gotten increasingly harder for her...so she did the right thing. Let her know that her decision was the right thing to do. Even though it's extremely difficult now, he's better off with those who can care for him 24/7, and it will save on her sanity later on. The guilt and sense of loss, will probably take a while to get through, but she will do it. She can visit him often, and then go about her life the way she should...with control and some peace.
I haven't received my Wonderland dvd either...I'm so anxious to get it. But as you say Les, "All good things come to those who wait"! Hugs back!
Andre Rieu
My dear Les,
Marlene is absolutely right. It was the correct decision for your sister. Our neighbor in Florida had the same situation and she had to do the same thing and she visited him every day until he passed but in the end she was so glad she did what she had to do because she could not have managed any more. My heart and prayers are with you both. Always know that you have good friends here praying for you. Love and hugs
Dear friends. We have an arctic low, plus snow!! It had held off until overnight & I have to go out in this so I guess I'll be wearing my coat with hood. Brrr. There is some controversy
about the movie Golden compass. I'd only read the final book & it is full of fantasy as I expect the 1st two are as well. I don't really think it is a slam at any church per se. but some might view it that way, just as the DaVinci code etc was a little out of the ordinary. As humans, we operate from a spot of finite reasoning, so it is no wonder that we have a time trying to understand infinity. Some things we have to take on Faith!! Then the other thing we need to do is treat our fellow man as we wish to be treated. Still have the sneezies, which have gone on for a week, & that is getting to be a bit much. Our Alberta Clipper will be hitting Detroit sometime to-day, after it dumps snow on our area. It's not so bad as we don't get the north wind which
is nasty. Rene, we are devastated wne we lose our pets as they are so much a part of our lives. My thoughts & prayers are with you. Have to plug my neighbors car in, so it will start easier, when I clean off my own car, so I can take my son to work, so had best get moving Love to all Marianne
Yes, Marianne, I have read where the book was written by an atheist, who is very active in his anti-belief. To each their own, but I will not go to that movie. (but support everyone's right to do so)
Movies cost a good deal of money. Don't most of us have memories of when we could go to a movie on Saturday afternoons for about 50 cents? Billy Mackie and me would walk to Fairfield with $1.00. We would have a movie, soft drink, popcorn or a candy bar. If we were lucky there would be a double feature and we would watch two movies. Billy & I had a deal. He would watch the Disney movies with me, and I would watch Hercules & James Bond movies with him. Worked out well.
More than movies, every Saturday when we walked (walking - another thing going out of fashion) to Fairfield, we would stop by the library on the way home to check out our week's worth of books. I saved my first library card. I remember being so proud when I got it. To have a card one needed to be able to write their own name, and at 4 years old, I signed my name after reading a book to the librarian. To this day, I love books and reading.
Want to add: Stay Safe Marianne! Snow & Freezing weather is difficult to drive in.
Gosh, there's several things to read this morning!Lesley, we do empathize with you & your sister. I'm sure what she is feeling now is normal, but really she has no choice. She needs to keep herself in good spirits as much as possible. Marianne, you be careful driving around in the snow.Sally, those movie days are long gone! As for the Golden Compass, think I'll pass on that one. I am a big fan of Lord of The Rings. I think that is where I first "fell in love" with Orlando Bloom! As for the "first" movie I ever saw(dating myself here) it was called The Bluebird of Happiness, back in the 40's I think.Movies were then a dime. I-yi-yi. The thought makes me feel old!!! Oh yeah, I have a few old Led Zepplin tapes somewhere, probably in the 70's.
We, also aged a few years also? right? those times never will come back! I do remember the few dollars we had with my brother, on arrival, and remember, the cost of the gasoline also, not just movies. Kati
Dear friends. The driving this a.m. was not too bad. Just go 10m.p.h. slower as there are so many lights & stop signs.
Didn't have any trouble either with my own car or Pat's van. It's the 1st winter so it was kind of fun to find all the controls for the wipers, defrost, etc. Managed quite nicely, & got home to the parking lot with no mishaps so I was pleased with myself. Would not like to be responsible for a fender bender with someone else's new vehicle. Love to all Marianne
Hello All,
Happy Belated Thanksgiving to everyone. It has been a LONG time since my last post. Work and family commitments have required all of my time.
I was thrilled to see a new video available in the Boutique. "Live in Vienna" was a pleasant surprise. I had been watching for "Wonderland" for several months. I have ordered both of these wonderful DVD's and I can't wait to get them. I am looking forward to seeing them. I have just about worn out my Andre collection. I have bought everything that I could get my hands on. I am especially looking forward to hearing Mirusia (sp) for the first time. To my knowledge, she has not appeared in any of the DVD's so far.
Hope this note finds everyone here in good health and happy. God's richest blessings to all of you.
Does anyone keep up with Jan Baruschke? He is one of the former violinists from the JSO that has his own orchestra now. His website is not in English and I am lost trying to interpret it.
Love to all,
Macky
Hi Macky, nice to hear from you again. We missed you. Would you please confirm your email so we can get your post on sooner. Thanks. yes I do keep up with Jan. He is one of my friends on "MySpace". Did you see his page there? If not just go to my page www.myspace.com/andrerieufriend and you can pick up his site from his photo. Hugs
Hi Jeanine Ann,
It's good to hear from you and thank you for your response to my message regarding Jan. I checked out your myspace page and I was very impressed. Jan just struck me the moment I saw him as such a pleasant kind person. He and Cord seemed to have a good comradery going as well. I miss seeing him with our beloved Andre, but I am glad he seems to be doing so well.
Another friend that I saw from Jan's link was Joja Wendt. I just loved him in the DVD where he plays "Flight of the Bumble Bee". I love his laid back approach to performing, although his skill and talent are INCREDIBLE.
Do you remember the male percussionist that played next to Marcel in some of the earlier DVD's such as Live at the Royal Albert Hall, Gala, etc. He had black hair and wore glasses. I think Ronald Gerards replaced him, but in Dublin he and Ronald were both there. If you can identify him, please let me know.
Thanks and it was so good to hear from you. I'll try to pop in a little more often.
Macky
Hi Macky: I will have a new page up for him soon. What a nice and talented young man.
I will email you later with information on how to use babblefish to translate webpages. It does well enough where we can understand the meaning. Then just change any word that is not quite correct and presto, you've got the article where you can understand it. We do it here all the time.
I like to use it as it also helps me learn languages.
Hi Sally,
Thanks so much for responding to me. I hate that I haven't been around more often, but between work and caring for my parents I don't have lots of time on my hands.
I would greatly appreciate the information that you spoke of. I have tried to figure out parts of Jan's website, but my lack of foreign language skills keeps me from getting very far. I would also like to translate Joja Wendt's page. I just loved him in "Gala". He is quite the showman.
Thanks again for the Thanksgiving card. You are so sweet to remember all your friends in cyberspace.
Best Wishes,
Macky
Hi There!
I have my wonderful Denon packet of info. but I have one question that maybe someone could shed a little light on. In my area we have Barnes & Noble and I walked through 2 of them sometime ago but did not see as much on Andre music as compared to Borders. I would like to leave some brochures there (of course by asking management)and also think about asking to set up a display of Andre's music to promote him a little bit. There were no rules sent by Denon on what is accepted or not accepted except not to distribute before the concert.
I'm only attending the Baltimore concert this year in the states so far. Would like feedback especially from those who have already done this. I want to make sure everything I do is acceptable.
Hi Martha,
I am not sure about Denon's rules so I am going to let Sally answer your question. I would like to do the same because we have Borders and Barnes and Noble in our area. I would not know why they would not allow it but let's see what Sally knows about it.
Glad you got your packet. I am going to email you right now while I am thinking about it. Aren't you going to Reading this year? Gee I sure hope so. Hugs
THE RULES COMING WITH THE PACKAGE! YOU MUST NOT DISTRIBUTE ANY BROCHURE ABOUT ANDRE'S MUSICAL CDS AND DVDS, AND LISTS A FEW MORE FROM DENON, UNTIL THE CONCERT IS OVER, IF YOU ATTEND TO ONE! IF YOU ARE NOT AT THE CONCERT, JUST PASS THEM OUT OR MAIL THEM, WHOEVER YOU KNOW! KATI
Hi Katie, I forgot to thank you for your response as well. This is exciting.
Martha
Hi Martha, how many brochures did you get? My package was opened and half of them fell out. I am going to 5 concerts and I only have two packs. Hugs
Hi Jeanine!
OMG I didn't count them but they were two packs I would guess at least 100 and two buttons. If some of yours got lost I would be happy to share some of mine. The only one so far in the states I'm going to is Baltimore, let me know and I can send some to you.
Hi Martha, thank you sweetie , just bring some to Toronto and we will see how many we need. I thought maybe you had more than 2 packs. I don't know if we can give them out in Toronto or not but there will be so many Americans there. I will email Denon but I don't know if they can get any to me before we leave for the concert. Will go get your email. Thanks so much. Love and hugs to you
Hi Jeanine Ann,
Just checking in on the site, I'm getting all my odds and ends together now for packing and will include the brochures.
Thank you Martha, I am getting my things together too. We will have a van full of stuff. Bringing a card table for the room entrance in case they do not supply one plus all the other goodies that Ruth could not bring since she is flying. See you soon. Hugs
Hi Jeanine,
Thanks so much and I replied!
Martha
Hi Martha: You will be a GREAT Denon Andre Rieu Ambassador.
I wonder if Borders will allow the catalogs, as it lists a toll free order number for Barnes & Noble, but you can email Denon with your idea. I'm certain they will know. Most likely Joe or his assistants would answer your question.
I've seen many marketing promotions in the US for Andre. And the numbers seem to be increasing. Yet .. it is rare we find Andre's works! Frustrating! In Portland, Marlene took me to a mall that had a very nice selection and display of Andre's products. It was so refreshing to see.
Thank you Sally, I will email them with my question and see what happens. It's a shot in the dark but no harm in asking though. Thanks for all you do.
Martha
Hi everyone, just received my "Andre Rieu Eine Musikalische Traumreise" from Amazon.de It is a 3 piece set with lots of great songs. I posted it on the Guestbook somewhere this month I think. I am sure some of you have ordered it. Hugs

Hi fans, Just watched Andre's Christmas DVD with Kyleigh, it is one to have if you have not seen it. He makes Jingle Bells sound awesome, best I have ever heard it. Also my favorite, Sleigh Bells. Manoe has a great vice and her solo's are super.
2 more "sleeps" and I am off for California, and I sure hope it is warmer and sunnier than here in Oregon.
I was saddened to hear that Rene lost his beloved pet, that is so hard. I do hope everyone is careful if you have to drive or walk in snow. Happy Holidays to all!
Marilyn B
I AM COUNTING THE DAYS ALSO, BUT LOTS OF SNOW COMING FOR SATURDAY, GOES OVER SUNDAY, I HOPE MY PLANE CAN TAKE OFF ON TIME! THIS WAY I WILL MAKE THE CONCERT, OTHERWISE, YOU PEOPLE HAVE TO ENJOY IT WITHOUT ME, WOULD BE A GREAT LOSS! KATI
Kati I hope your plane takes off. That would be horrible. I am counting days too - 16 days to Toronto! I hope you and Marilyn and Sally all have a great time. Will be thinking of you. We could have snow too in Canada or upper New York, you never know. We are driving so we don't have to worry about airplanes not taking off on time. Hugs
Kati, I am crossing my fingers you will be here this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing you! It may snow around here too, but it is the ice that I don't need. Have a safe trip!
Marilyn
It's hard for me to comment on everything that I wish to comment on,
But there are a couple of things that I wish to say...one...I have to thank you Jeanine Ann for all your work that you do for André, on this site and everywhere else you are. Your efforts are commendable. Five concerts this year and you put up sites and stories and you send in comments and work so hard to please everyone. I only wish that I had the time to be able to do the same. I think that André would be proud of the way that you promote him, with no selfish motivations. I can only say that the world needs more just like you!
I sit and read the words that so many write in, and say to myself that I'd like to comment, but I have no time. I think I'm getting on the downside of having to work so much, so maybe I can improve my writing.
Also, The Wonderland dvd...I cannot wait to get it, as I'm sure most can't, it's so exciting just thinking about it.
We are getting into the time of year where the weather is cold, wet, snowy, icy, whatever...please be careful everyone.
Some of you lucky people are going to concerts very soon...I only wish that I was with you!
André is an incredible guy...I watch the short videos of him, the dvd's and cd's that I have, I watch him on PBS and I wait for upcoming events and even concerts that he's going to be at, and I think of what he does for everyone. The efforts he puts into his music and to entertain people...to bring us the beauty of the music. Music is quite a story for us...it enchants us, yes Margie, I remember your wonderful description of André's music, "enchantment and peace". I believe with all my heart that he encourages us to be happy, unselfish and romantic souls. Those with André truly in their hearts are considerate and forgiving people. It's his music and his love of music that brings out so much goodness in people.
I'm rambling on here, but I haven't been able to talk too much lately, so I'm just filling in the gap!
Thanks Sally, you certainly do have a great site here...thanks for all your work you do to keep us happy!
So many friends in one place...isn't life great!
Take care everyone, and have a great Holiday Season. ♫♥♪♫♪♥♫♪ Enjoy the beauty of the music!
Dear Marlene, you are so sweet to make those nice comments. Everyone on this site does so much to promote Andre. I know he would be proud of all of us no matter how much time we have to put into this work. The little that I do is done for fans like you and so many here that I cannot possibly name them all. I sit here at the computer every day and from the control panel I see every comment that comes in, so many, day after day, hour after hour and most of them are praising our Andre and his JSO and the others are wishing all the fans and friends either a nice day, a safe trip, a wonderful concert, tears and sorrow at the loss of a beloved pet or loved one, happiness for birthdays and so on. Most of us (including me) cannot attend as many concerts as we would like either for work, health or financial reasons but we sit at our computers and promote Andre just the same. We write letters, we try to find more people who have never been fortunate to hear his music, we contact record stores in an effort to have these stores display Andre's music in a more prominent way, we buy every CD/DVD that we can get our hands on, we spend our time when we are ill or in a blue mood watching his DVD concerts; in other words we "Think Rieu" every day. You are right Marlene, Andre's beautiful, happy, romantic music cannot help but make all of us beautiful happy, romantic and unselfish souls as you so beautifully stated.
Sally, you have created a wonderful place here that has gathered in so many beautiful people and I too thank you. All of this - for
Hello all, I am enjoying all of the inspirational thoughts that André inspires in all of us, as well as to untold others. It's hard to believe he will be back in the US in just a few days. I am envious of those going to the upcoming concerts, but hope they have a great time, as I am sure they will. I hope the weather won't be too difficult. Southern Calif. shouldn't be too bad. I am anxiously waiting for the Vienna and Wonderland DVDs. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer.
Have safe travels, everyone, and enjoy the concerts. We will be waiting for your reports.

That is great Marilyn. I am going to my mail box now to see if got the same message. I would imagine that we both ordered them the same time. Hugs to you
Marilyn, I received a notice about the Vienna DVD but not the Wonderland one. I ordered both also.
Let me know, Thanks
Bob Ruark
Same with me Bob, I only received notice about the Vienna DVD so I am going to check tomorrow to see if it is off of pre-sale. Hugs

offical andre rieu ambassador-jeff
Thanks Jeff, I guess mine is coming too then. Been out all afternoon and haven't checked the email. Wanted to check the blog first. Hugs
I took another look at the shipping confirmation, and although the Wonderland was also listed, it was marked as Paid. The Vienna DVD was marked as shipped, so they still aren't shipping the Wonderland DVD yet it looks like. But what the heck, the Vienna DVD will do too
Yes they do! I got confirmation Today, that my Wonderland and Vienna, both been shipped! Do not forget, the Vienna one is in PAL! I hope, they will make NTSC also, i ordered it to give it to some friends. Kati
I RECIVED AN EMAIL FROM A QUESTION THAT I ASKED FROM THE HELP DESK OF ANDRE RIEU AND THEY SAID THAT THE WONDERLAND DVD WILL NOT BE SHIPPED UNTIL NEXT THURSDAY. SO THAT STINKS BUT I CANT WAIT TO GET THE VIENNA DVD I JUST BOUGHT THE CD AND THE 2 DVDS NOW SO THAT THEY COULD COMBINE THE PRIORITY SHIPPING I HAVE 8.98 ON DISCOUNTS SO I JUST USED THE DISCOUNTED MONEY OF THES SHIPPING INSTEAD SO IT WORKED OUT WELL
HAPPU MUSIC EVERY ONE. o man i just relized that i was useing caps sorry and i am not re-typing what i already did lol thanks bye
offical andre rieu ambassador-jeff
Hi Jeff, maybe you got something today? They did confirm both of the DVDs Today, saying they were shipped. Kati
Hi everyone,
This may not be a good thing to say, but if you can play PAL, the new Wunderland DVD is available to order from AU and is much less as the dollar value is much different than the euro so it ends up costing less than the listed price. I do not think the Vienna DVD is available there, but just thought I would pass this on. Also I see 64 degrees in Sacramento today!!
Marilyn B
Hi Marilyn, I guess all of us have already ordered through the Boutique and it probably would take too long to get to us. I am wondering how they got them so early when the official place has not even released the DVD. Of course I don't understand the distribution process. I was hoping to have it before leaving for Toronto but I guess not if it will only be shipped next Thursday. I did order it priority though.
I wish it would be 64 here in Pa. today Marilyn. I guess we reached 50 which could be worse. Hugs
THERE WILL BE A LOTS OF SUNSHINE BY SUNDAY! THEY DO KNOW, I AM COMING!! hahaha FIRST I HAVE TO COLLECT SNOW FOR MR. BILL!? I HAVE TO SEND IT, PRIORITY OVERNIGHT!! PRAY FOR ME, THAT MY PLANE WILL TAKE OFF!! KATI
Dear Kati, prayers will be going up for you for a safe trip and that your plane takes off on schedule. I know you will have a great time. I have 14 days to go!! Love and hugs
kati,
the andre rieu in vienna is not just for pal it is also in NTSC. becasue i ordered it and i recived an email thins afternoon from the help desk and thats what they told me so i dont know only time will tell. thanks
offical andre rieu ambassador- jeff
Hi Jeff, the Vienna DVD is available in NTSC but is not in stock but the PAL version is in stock. I think it usually goes that way with pre-sales. I can use PAL but I just automatically order NTSC unless it is something not available for the United States. Hugs
I also checked with them and the copy I ordered was in NTSC also and has been shipped already.
Bob Ruark (alias DJ Bob)

Dear friends A very quick note this a.m.
it's almost 7:30 a.m. & it is cold minu 25 celcius, but at least no wind as yet. My hands are a mess Between arthritis & carpal tunnel, both hands go numb, right one worse than the left &
even the finger pads are tender when I try to use the calculator. Offer it up as there is no way I can take enough painkillers to alleviate same. Think it has to do with cleaning the snow & ice off my car the past few days. Am waiting for a nerve test which has been on the agenda since Oct 1st. Four month for an appontment in Lethbridge which is one & one half hour drive from here, but at least the roads should be in good shape by then. Not like last January when it was a skating rink when
son Alan & I went for his consult on his finger. He just turned 45, Nov 27th & all his injuries from work & sports are\devloping arthritis, the osteo kind
Such is life if you've been active in your younger years. It seems than any place you've had even a small injury, the arthritis is just waiting to attack a weak spot. Heard the other day than CT
scans have extreme radiation, but still have to have one in about June, just in case that aneurysm has enlarged. The radiation is cumulative so you run a risk of a cancer forming, & since I've had a breast, nose & side of neck with surgical removal, plus many pre-cancerous lesions burnt off my back, the back of one hand & the middle of my left arm. The last one was yesterday. Not too comfortable. but the alternative
is not acceptable. The lesions get really itchey, & as long as you're clothed, they don't bother, but as soon as free air is involved it is very nearly unbearable, & you even scratch in your sleep & there is no cream or lotion to alleviate the discomfort. That is all sun damage, from when I was a kid & didn't know how harmful sunburns can be. Andre, the JSo & crew will be on the road Dec 1st, with the Toronto stadia concert on the 14th. That will be a most marvelous concert, which all of you that are able to attend, will enjoy to the fullest. I'll be there is spirit, but will have to forgo any trip to Toronto. Just beyond my budget. Finally seem to have shaken the sneezy cold, which was more annoying, with the nose dripping at the most inconvenient time. My grandson, &
his girlfriend went to the ulta-sound clinic yesterday. The support group besides Dustin, was two prospective Grandmas & one Gt. Grandma (me)!! Also visited my friend Ruby, whom I had taken to hospital Nov 20th. Sadly to say she is not improving much, although since she's on oxygen she is less confused, Met her sister Jean, who is Mom to the car repair shop owners where
I get my car repaired, buy tires etc.
Jack & Billy are avid big game hunters & Jack spend a lot of time in Tanzania
as a big game guide. So little old Brooks does have its share of intnl travellers. Reading an old book on the partion of India, which was a disaster of the time, intersting but slow going
Holiday season is here. Love Marianne
Good Morning, everyone. I just got a shipping confirmation from André' and Co. saying that BOTH the Vienna AND the Wonderland DVD have been sent. This is an updated notice from the one they sent me yesterday. That should make my day.
Have a good weekend, everyone. Marilyn S.
My Wonderland DVD was shipped on Monday 11/26. I usually order the PAL version because the quality and color seems to be better and luckily my player plays both. I will probably order more in NTSC for gifts here.
Hi Virginia, just received notice that my Wonderland DVD was also shipped - yippeeee! Maybe I will get it before I leave for Toronto. Only 13 days to go for the concerts. Will see you there. Clyde and I will be meeting you at 5:00 along with Martha.
I didn't realize that PAL was better quality and color than NTSC. I guess I should have ordered PAL but I usually only do that when it is not available in NTSC. Thanks and hugs
To everyone who is attending concerts in December have a wonderful, wonderful time. Travel safely, enjoy good food, good company and above all have fun with Andre and the JSO. Our turn will come next year.
Thank you Margaret. I know all of us will have a wonderful time wherever we are going in spite of all the weather threats. Your time will come and you will find it will be well worth the wait. My first concert was overwhelming. All I could do afterward is cry, cry, cry. Hugs
We Australians know we live in the "Lucky Country" Look at this from "Ovation"
LEO SCHOFIELD IN CONVERSATION...WITH ANDRE RIEU
Wednesday 5 December at 7pm
World Television Premiere
In this Ovation exclusive, Leo Schofield visits the sensational Waltz King of Europe at his Maastricht castle. Also dubbed the Modern King of Waltz and the King of Romance, Andre Rieu is adored by millions and is set to take Australia by storm when he brings his show to town next year. With Ovation audiences being the first in Australia to discover and embrace Andre and his Johann Strauss Orchestra, they will also be the first to be allowed into his home in this World Television Premiere.
Aussie Fans with Foxtel should check the programme guides for "Ovation" as they have another big month of Andre all through December. Concerts and the 6 part series "On the way to Wonderland" and more. To much for me to list it all here. Cheers

Only 10 days until Andre is in Albuquerque. I can't wait. I have 3 batteries (fully charged) for my camcorder and many blank tapes.
My Christmas wish list includes almost all of the Rieu DVDs (Except for New York which I thought was one of his poorest shows.) Been downloading his CDs from Amazon. Got his christmas CD. Missed it on PBS but will keep looking for a repeat.
Merry Christmas to all of the Rieu fans around the world. I hope you will be as lucky as I will be. I am having Christmas with my Sons and their wonderful wives and all 4 grandchildren. Who could ask for more?
Grampa Mike.
Hi Mike, nice to hear from you. I find it interesting that you did not like New York which I thought was really one of the most beautiful he has done. Is there anything in particular you did not care for? There are some I like better than others but none that I do not like at all.
I hope you will have a great time in Albuquerque, and that you will get great photos. Take care
Hi Mike,
I know cameras are permitted & André encourages the audience to take photos.
Recording equipment, that records sound, is not permitted.
You may want to consider taking a camera in place of the camcorder

Sounds like Grampa Mike is indeed going to have a wonderful Christmas.
