Thank you for these Al. She was so pretty, most of all in heart. How were you able to get so close? Is there a story behind these photographs?

I was shooting for television news and was able to sneak a few photos with my personal camera when the video camera was locked off on the tripod. I've been on several Royal tours . . . Prince Charles before he was married, the one where I took these photos, the Queen Mum, Princess Margaret, The Queen and the young princes, and the Crown Prince and Princess of Norway. I've been invited to three Royal receptions where I met the Royals, and I've been in several Royal motorcades which are incredible.

Wow, what an incredible picture this is. We lived in Vista, long, long ago, before we moved up here to the Northwest. I was born in Escondido. My brother and I were wondering what was happening in Vista during all the fires last month. We just hadn't heard, and never saw anything on the news. Interesting, but there is always a soft spot in my heart for the place I grew up in, well, until I was eight years old. Thanks for sending this photo Hermina, it certainly is an awesome photo.

        Good Evening, Marlene!
Thank you for your kind comment! But I did not take the picture. I received it from a friend in Vista, where the fires did fortunately NOT burn.
Where are you living now, Marlene?
        Best regards,
        Hermina

Hermina, thanks you for sharing these. I watched in horror as the news was full of the California fires. What a dreadful thing, and to see how dry everything is sad. Here we and many other places had an overabundance of rain & others had none.

Hi there: Thanks for sharing such lovely photos of Princess Di with all of us. She was a very beautiful and gracious lady. Thanks for the sun photo too. We have a son in California so we do worry about the fires when they start. Thanks again

ooohhh, she's so sweet! I love her already! Lucky you, lucky Jeanine Ann, who gets to pet her all the time! Our Jazz is due for her yearly shots this morning so we must get out the dreaded carrier! I think she must know because she's hiding somewhere. I wish we could afford several more fur babies. I would have dozens. But they now have a city law that you can only have 4 animals in the city. Humane society is overloaded. That is sad to me that some don't take the right responsibility for their pets. One of my "pet peeves"!

This will be under my "FRIENDSHIP TREE" I put up at Christmas. A good place for it I think! Look how beautiful this is, and the artistic work of the embroidery.

Sally, this is beautiful. I wonder if this is a dying art anymore? I have done much needlework, embroidery, chrochet etc that I have now in my cedar chest.I wonder if anyone will ever want it as it seems not many do this kind of thing anymore. We used to have a Christmas tradition, for several years, that all the gifts must be handmade, but with a time shortage it quickly became obsolete. We were taught needlework of some kind, but guess that's too a thing of the past too. Thank you for sharing this.A "friendship tree" is a lovely idea.

That is beautiful Sally.  I too like the idea of a "friendship" tree.  This year my tree will be a violin tree.  I went out and bought all the violin ornaments I could find, even found one on Ebay with bow and in a black violin case about 5 inches long.
I used to do some embroidery work when I was in my 20's but now I have so many other things that must be done.   Hugs

I love this embroidery work! It's so beautiful. I didn't do too much embroidery work when I was young, was more into crocheting and knitting...but always wanted to add it to my agenda.
Now...no time to do anything, but I still love it very much.

I actually have a minute to go through the blog to see if I've missed anything over the last several days, and it seems I have. Yes...I'd like one of those mugs too, please!
That would be a nice conversation piece!

    Hello, Shirley!
Where could I see your needlework?
I almost finished two large blankets which I crocheted(?) for my grandchildren.
We have to keep needlework alive!
    Cordially,
    Hermina

Hi Hermina, you know what, I never thought to ever take pictures of anything I ever did, that would have been a good idea as some things took quite awhile to make. you are making blankets? I never made any blankets except yarn baby blankets and I've done a lot of edgings on blankets. I've made tablecloths, doilies, anything croched with yarn or the crochet thread. done some embroidery on different things, a few crosstitch things and I loved to sew.Made a wedding dress and 6 bridesmaid dresses for my daughter's friend. All this before my eyes got worn out!A lot of stuff I've given as gifts. I guess I might try to take pictures of some of the stuff I've got left. might take awile though.

Shirley, was that your needle work or was it Sally's?  I was confused there for a while trying to do several things at one time.  I thought it belonged to Sally.  Hugs

I like to see them myself! I am crazy about Southwestern design, I made several ones, because they are so expensive. I gave some away for Christmas to my Stepson and Wife, I have some beauties in my house. I will make some pictures and send them to Sally. I have another finished, just have to take it to frame it.I made some large blankets, croched, i do not know, how to knit. Kati
