Andre Rieu - World Stadium Tour Started!
World Stadium Tour Started!
a report by Pierre Rieu
For more than 200 people it took a lot of blood, sweat and tears the last weeks, but in the end it was all worth it. The world première of the World Stadium Tour was a great success!

An audience of over 25,000 experienced a show never seen before, on the biggest stage ever used by any artist in the world. The full-size copy of the world-famous Schönbrunn Palace, the ice dancers, ballet, fountains and the 36 horses with 14 carriages… the many soloists, golden ballroom, chandeliers and of course André Rieu with his Johann Strauss Orchestra made a huge impact on the audience.

What the audience did not know was that until 5 minutes before the start of the show we were very insecure if it all could go on. A big power generator that supplied the energy for all lightning equipment let us down. If we couldn't come up with a fast solution the whole stage wouldn't be lit up properly. In that case we should have had to cancel the concert at the last moment. Luckily we managed to get another power generator from a nearby airport…

We are all looking forward to tomorrow night’s sold out concert and of course the shows in Australia, America, France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands in 2008.

thank you so much for all the great updates you let the fans enjoy
WOW!! How I wish I could have been there! I can't even imagine how stressful it must have been for everyone when the generator wouldn't work...and then to go on stage and perform as though nothing had happened. What professionals! To Andre, Pierre, the JSO, all the performers and crew, congratulations on a superb accomplishment.
WE WILL BE THERE, NEXT TIME! WE HAVE TO REMEMBER, WHEN IT IS RAINY, IT DOES CLEAR UP BECAUSE ANDRE HAVING A CONCERT. WHEN IT IS HEAVY TRAFFIC, EVERYBODY STOPS AND THEY GET AN ESCORT! WHEN THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY, THEY DO GET A GENERATOR! GET USED TO THIS? ANDRE AND HIS GOOD LUCK! KATI

Hi Jackie,
Thanks for sharing your photos with us. It gives us some idea of the logistics of the stage. I am sure you and your mum had a wonderful time!
Only 11 months to go till we have our turn in Australia. You had cold weather and we will have hot weather. How amazing!!!
Thankyou for a wonderful night in Toronto. It was an absolutely breathtaking evening seeing the concert live after watching many dvd's of previouse concerts over and over. The atmosphere was incomparable to any event I have ever attended. Worth every penny!..Thank you for chosing Toronto!
Enjoy your visit considering you'll be snowbound for a few days with the storm. (Which arrived after the concert thank goodness for everyone to get home safely)..Looking for the DVD or CD of the World tour..? Any idea when it will be out?
I have just got my tickets for the Brisbane concert, so exciting, there will be 10 of us going so it will be so much fun, this will be one year that I hope will go very fast
I just have to tell someone !!
Suncorp Stadium Brisbane Concert went on sale to general public this morning. I had already bought (Best Available)tickets in the 2 Pre-sales and my best was 27 rows from the front. Decided to try again this morning and "BINGO", I got FRONT ROW TICKETS in A4. I am still pinching myself.
Grayeme,
How wonderful for you!!!! Don't pinch yourself too much or you will have bruises for Christmas. I have tickets to Melbourne & Sydney but not in the front row. I'm sure we will all have a great time.
I am dismayed at how difficult it was to secure tickets for Andre's Sydney concert on the 29th Nov 08 Please let him know that we need another concert in Sydney asap! I know he is doing a second concert in Melbourne - please do the same for us!
I am still on cloud "40", my heart is still in Toronto. It was the most beautiful set I'd ever seen and sitting closer in I was in awe of the magnitude of the size of the set and stage, the beautiful fountains and lights. It was like another world. What also included in this wonderful experience was meeting AR fans for the first time. Thank you Jeanine, Ruth and Virginia for two wonderful days of dinner and meeting and greeting new fans, for me my experience was just what I expected it would be. Thank You!
I wish to be advised immediately when Andre Rieu's Australian Tour is announced for Perth, Western Australia. 6 members of my family would love to attend and would like great seats.
Does anyone know if there were any changes to the music program?
Did anyone see anyone new, or missing from the orchestra?
