JEAN-PHILIPPE RIEU
A member of an incredible, talented family
And brother of André Rieu

This I should have written, a very long time ago. About one and a half years ago, I purchased and listened to Jean-Philippe’s cd "Por toi" www.jp-rieu.com
. I fell in love with the romance and beauty of this beautiful composition he had written. "Romance" seemingly, a Rieu trademark with their music. This beautiful cd touched a romantic chord with me.Originally, I could not find an address to order this cd from,
so I emailed Jean-Philippe.
He personally emailed me back saying he would send me this cd.
And he did, very quickly! I was quite impressed.
"Your letter is stimulating me to create more and more."
I listen to "Por Toi" often, its very relaxing,
enjoyable and peaceful piano music.

I watched for any more cd’s from Jean-Philippe, I knew that if he composed more music, I would have to add them to my "collection".
Early last year, I heard that Jean-Philippe had released another cd, titled "ROnde". I immediately went to his site; however, my computer would not open it. I emailed him, telling him of my problem. He had his computer tech contact me and about three days later, and many attempts at various lengths, and with no luck, Jean-Philippe said that he would send me a copy. And again, he sent me a copy, very quickly. Jean-Philippe impressed me previously as to how dependable and attentive he was. I am very impressed with his words in that when he says he will do something, he does.
I was excited to have a second cd from Jean-Philippe. In this cd he not only plays the piano, but also sings, which I was pleasantly surprised. He is wonderful.

He just now has his third cd out titled "Azur". As promised, Jean-Philippe sent it to me, I received it today (12/21/07). I have already listened to it and it’s incredibly beautiful and relaxing. He put a lot of his heart and soul in this music and I’m proud and extremely pleased to have this new cd.

"The colors of love and of live, and the dialogue between everyone,
is the main inspiration of my new CD."
Jean-Philippe has impressed me very much with his honor, his promises and contact. This says nothing of his incredible talent; he takes the time and effort to put his all into his music and it shows with his compositions. When he and André made music together, they composed some of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard and they are among my favorites. The titles of some are "Autumn In Venice", "Lost Heroes", "The Hurdy-Gurdy Waltz", "Ballade", from the dvd/cd "Dreaming", and "I Love You", that romantic, beautiful melody from the dvd/cd "Tuscany".
Read the beautiful words that Jean-Philippe speaks:
(Ik word gedreven door de communicatiekracht van muziek en beeld. Mijn composities en pianospel, mijn teksten, mijn films en schilderijen zijn uitingen van mijn onophoudelijke zoektocht naar eerlijkheid, puurheid en liefde. Een constante beweging, passie, emotie, verlangen, schoonheid en energie. Uit de bodem van mijn geliefde Dordogne haal ik de ziel van mijn werk.)
Gelukkig voel ik mij, als ik mijn gevoelens kan delen.
I am floated by the communication strength of music and picture. My compositions and piano-music, my texts, my films and paintings, are expressions of my continuous search to honesty, purity and love. A constant movement, passie, emotion, desire, beauty and energy. From the floor of my pleased Dordogne I obtain the soul of my work. Fortunately I feel myself, if I can share my feelings.
Essentially, this is what he’s written to me in his emails. I believe the Rieu family to be an incredibly, passionately, compassionate family, unlike any that I have ever seen.
"I hope you will enjoy my music intensely, and will "spread the music"...
I hope that you all give Jean-Philippe an opportunity to impress you with his music. He calls them "compositions" which is very appropriate because he composes, orchestrates and arranges his music all himself.
Thank you for listening, thank you also for taking a side step into a few words about another member of an incredible family. Jean-Philippe’s site is http://www.jp-rieu.com// go there and be impressed with a very nice guy who has an enormous love and talent for music…music from his heart and soul.
Thank you Jean-Philippe for all you do for life and music! Your music compositions are most beautiful and romantic expressions of the heart. I am very happy to have all your works.

Please note: The cd’s I have received from Jean-Philippe, I’ve paid for. I don’t wish to lead you to believe that I received something that was not paid for.

Marlene, this is wonderful. You know, I had intended to order a cd earlier on but forgot all about it. I have heard the snippets of music on his site and it sounds so peaceful and moving, something to dream by.I like what he says about what inspires him. One thing I'd never even thought about, "astonishment". That was very interesting to me.I will make it a resolve to order asap. How were you able to pay, do you use PayPal?
Hi Marlene, this is really terrific! I didn't even know that Jean-Philippe was selling CD's until I started my "My Space" page and saw his page and added him as a friend. I go there a lot to hear his music because it is so beautiful. I am glad you reminded me that I need to get all three of his CD's. That is a great story of his sending them to you. These Rieu's are so talented aren't they!! Thank you Marlene.
Hugs
Yes, Shirley, you can go to his site and order the cd's through PayPal. The site is in French, so if you can understand it, it will be easy...if not(like me), well, I figured it out...and if I can figure French out, then anyone can!
Oh Marlene, what a nice man Jean-Philippe is..how great to know this.
I enjoyed learning how his music is formed, that it is personal to him, a part of him, he shares with us all.
I really like that Azur, listened to it on his site. Beautiful music. I felt as if I could 'see' the music. I must order this CD!

Dear Friends. I have been all over Jean Phillipe's site, listened to the snippets of music & I will order all three, once I recover from the Xmas shopping. Didn't do a whole lot, but the
limited income doesn't leave much wiggle room Ha Ha! I knew that he & Andre had composed, & orchestrated music
on Andre's cds & dvds. I think the whole family was immersed in music from the time they could walk, so the talent was nurtured from a young age. When my children were babies, I used to dance with them to folk music & even though to-day much of the music is just noise to me, they both still listen to what I call real music. At the very least they will listen to my music, which is varied, but I find I like instrumentals
the best & if they are the kind that also have lyrics I can sing them in my head. Happy New Year to all & I dearly hope that all who are ailing at the moment make a full recovery and have good fortune & Peace in 2008. Love Marianne
