Happy April to all of you! I hope you have a beautiful month! Some of you will be attending the concerts...I hope you write us and tell us what a wonderful time you had. Take care everyone.
Happy April to all. It is a beautiful autumn day today! The anticipation is starting to build here in Australia. I'm off to Sydney on Friday to have lunch with some of my André friends. Lots to talk about.
Hi Bill, Yes, we do have April Fool's Day in Australia. You caught me hook, line and sinker with your Maastricht fantasy. Lyn
Hi Lyn,
Thanks for taking the time to read my Maastricht report, & for admitting that you got caught. You have no idea how much fun I had creating that fantasy.
I hope you took the time to read the replies.
Hi everyone, Bill thanks so much for getting the April guestbook on. I have really been out of it lately. First of all from the funerals and then on Easter Sunday there were two people sitting close to us in church with colds and yep you guessed it I really got it bad. So I barely got through the funerals and I have been so tired just fighting this cold. But I am alive and that is all that counts and I will be seeing Andre in three weeks so what could be better
I hear that Waltzing Matilda will be released on April 26. Maybe you already know this as I didn't have the time to look through the back posts. Will try to get some information on it if I can find some.
Otherwise I am eating chicken soup and watching Andre. This down time is not too bad and I still get my hour of violin practice in. We watched the New Year's Eve 2004 concert in Trier Germany yesterday and it is just great. It has now become Clyde's favorite since DJ Otzi is in it and he loves him. The music is fantastic and Carmen, Suzan and Carla sing "Carnival" while Andre plays violin - super. It is also the first time I had seen him play "In A Persian Market" which is a lovely piece and "Oh Mosella" which is so cute the way the audience keep on singing after he is finished playing.
Hope everyone had a beautiful Eastertime. Will be back later. Hugs
YOU CANNOT IMAGINE HOW MUCH I WAS WORIIED ABOUT YOU!!
Hi Shirley, are you talking about me? I am so sorry I worried you. I appreciate your concern. I should have emailed you but when you are busy and sick on top of it you kind of forget important things like keeping in touch with your good friends. It was very hard for me to even drag myself out of bed in the morning but you know you must. My Grandmother and Aunt are much better off now, neither one knew anyone and didn't know where they were so life was not good for them and I know that Heaven has two new residents now. They were both sweet, kind and good women.
I am so thankful that all of this did not happen at the end of April. Hugs to you Shirley for your concern.
Hi there,
Does anyone know if there is a cross stitch chart of André available? I would love to do one of him. Thanks
Margaret,I'm not sure if a chart is already available but there is a website, http://www.crosstitch.com/photo.html
They will make a pattern from any photo you might want.
Oh that is a great idea. Thanks Shirley. Thanks Margaret for asking that question. I did do embroidery work years ago and would love to do that too if I get the time. Hugs
Hello everyone and happy April.
Just read Andre has a new boxed 6 x cd collection released 31 March called "The 100 most beautiful melodies".
Hi Angela, Yes that is a real nice set of CD's. I bought it last year from Amazon France. I probably paid more but could not wait
WHERE IS THIS CD? WHERE WAS IT RELEASED? I DO NOT SEE IT NO PLACE! KATI
Hi Kati,
I posted this CD on the blog last year when it was released in Europe. I could not find it here so I went to Amazon.fr and bought it. I put a photo of it here on the blog but I don't remember what month it was. I will look now and try to find it. Each CD cover (6 in a box) has a different beautiful photo of Andre and has 100 of his best songs. Back later. Hugs
Many thanks Jeanine Ann. I bought the CD set today for AUD$39.95 at Myer Sydney CBD. It contains two boxes x 3 cds but just the one photo of Andre` on each of the two boxes. It does however contain a booklet with a few other photos and music repertoire. The music is truly beautiful. Hugs.
KATI,
Here is the photo of the 6 CD set. You can get it at www.amazon.fr
but you can probably get it cheaper from Australia since their dollar value is less than ours.
It sells for 40,69 euro dollars so that is not cheap. If I find it at a better price I will post it here. Hugs
Sally left a message on my answering machine earlier today.
She caught a cold & can barely speak. Sooooo, if you call her & she doesn't return your call, just understand she is temporarily without voice.
THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL JOKE!
Okay here is another 2-CD set called World Tour Edition. It has 36 tracks of a lot of great songs. I will list them here. Here is the address:
http://www.amazon.com/Andre-Rieu-Johann-Strauss-Orchestra/dp/B0006B7JIY/ref=sr_1_90?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1207101879&sr=1-90
It sells for $27.14.
Kati & Jeanine Ann, Here is a link to a Music Store in Australia that is selling the 6-CD set and will ship to the US. The price is in Aussie dollars so I don't know how it compares with your retailers in the US.
http://www.hansmusic.com.au/default.aspx?d=513406
You can get the set for A$42.95 plus postage from the ABC shop in Australia www.abcshop.com.au Hope this helps
Dear Sally, I wish you a speedy recovery, did not know you were in the hospital, because I have not been on this web for a long time. Please get well soon! Inge
Mr Bill, this day seems to fit right in with your character doesn't it?-) I didn't believe your Maastricht story but it was a good read. My dad was the practical joker in our family. One April Fool's Day he baked a "cake" for us, turned out it was cornbread, iced with plain cream cheese. YUCK! We kids were really put out about that one.
I like the quote of Mark Twain, "the first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year". But I always say, "no fools, no fun". Life would be pretty boring without a sense of humor.
Hi Shirley,
Actually, today & halloween are both my days <g> As a boy, along with my younger brother, we annually pulled the same April fools day joke on our parents....they just never seemed to catch on or be prepared.
Both mom & dad were coffee drinkers. They didn't begin to think until after they'd consumed their first cup of coffee, laced with cream & sugar.
Starting in grade school, we put salt in the sugar bowl. Our parents would pour their coffee & then proceed to add what they assumed was sugar & cream, in that order. My parents were creatures of habit. A teaspoon of sugar & a teaspoon of cream was the doseage.
Turns out, they added salt & cream to their coffee on April fools day, every year for at least a decade. "Oh no! Not again!", they would exclaim, tinged with disgust. As me & my brother were laughing hysterically at the consternation of our parents, they would thrown the coffee down the drain upon the first sip of the tainted beverage.
One year, we put a thin layer of sugar on top of the salt, in case dad moistened his finger to taste the contents in the sugar bown. That was the year he remembered. Dutifully, he moistened a finger, tasted the sugar, pronounced the contents to be OK, then proceeded to dip into the salt underneath & add it to his & mom's coffee.
Trust me, my brother & I laughed at our parents for the better part of a week, that year.
Bottom line! I really enjoyed composing my report. It truly makes my day when you confess to swallowing the yarn
AND WHERE IS YOUR Chartreuse
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I MISSED IT SOOO MUUUCH!! NOW, I DO FEEL BETTER. WE TALKED ABOUT THE 6 CD PACKAGE WITH ANDRE'S MUSIC. I ORDERED FROM FRANCE, AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL, IT IS AN ASSORTMENTS OF HIS MUSIC, THAT HE ALREADY RECORDED SOMEPLACE, MAYBE ON ANOTHER CD, OR DVD. VERY LOVELY TO LISTEN TO. KATI
Bill I am imagine that you were the practical joker when you were younger, you still are! I am one of the fans who fell for that trip to Maastricht. I was really jealous too at the time. In fact when I finally figured out it was not true I was a little relieved. I am usually happy for one's good luck but that was a little too good! I was really wishing I was you. It was fun though. I laughed a lot after I knew it was not true. Hugs
JEANINE, YOU SHOULD KNOW HIM BY NOW!! ALWAYS COME UP WITH SOME TALL TALES! THAT IS BILL! KATI
Bill, I too fell for your April Fool's joke completely. I was so intrigued as I was reading it, imagining what joy you must have felt and thinking you are the luckiest person in the world. What I would have given to have been in your shoes! Just as well, otherwise we would have swamped you with questions for months. Well done, you made me laugh.
Hugs to you
Hi Angela,
Thanks for taking the time to read & get a laugh out of my "report". If you took the time to read the replies then you know a lot of people were taken in by my sense of humor. Thanks for saying something.
Bill in Arizona
Thanks Bill. Yes I read all the comments. You have both a fantastic imagination and sense of humour. You should write novels. Keep smiling
Hi
I bought the 6 CD set today at JB Hifi for $34. It is fantastic.
Kirsten
Western Australia
Thanks Lyn and Kirsten. You both got good prices. I paid way too much but that is what happens when you cannot wait
Kirsten and Lyn, you would be better off to buy in Australia because you will pay more in American dollars. Hugs to you
I think the CD Masterpieces has to be my all time favourite. It is just brilliant and I play it over and over.
Masterpieces is one of the first CDs I purchased after I discovered Andre last year and I, too, play it over and over. Strauss Party, Strauss & Co., Meditation, Second Waltz, and all the other beautiful melodies on this CD keep me happy for hours. Others where I work come into my office just to hear my "happy music."
Hi Kay. I too really like this CD. I particularly love Londonderry Air (Danny Boy). I love the part played on that wonderful mellow low flute, no doubt played by Teun, followed by André on his violin. Also, Meditation and Largo(from Winter(The Four Seasons) - more violin solos by our Maestro. But the whole CD is great.
It's great to see all the different places to order.I guess we could order from Australia too, couldn't we? I'm wanting to get Mirusia's cd when it comes out. Usually I buy from Andre's boutique if I'm in a hurry, but then I've gone to Amazon a lot too. I like the Hansmusic place, but have never ordered from there. All you in Australia
are fortunate to have so many places available to get Andre's music. I usually have to order online for mine as we don't seem to have that much to choose from. Thank you all for all the different suggestions. I just need to win a big time lottery so I can buy everything I want!!!! Right now I'm listening to the In Concert cd. It has my Mozart medley on it!
JB Hifi is the best place for prices in Australia and they always have plenty of stock. Not long to our trip to Amsterdam and Maastricht now.
What a great day!! I received today my tickets for the Andre Rieu concert in Jacksonville on April 25th! Its only three weeks from Friday ( How time flys) I remember I ordered them last July. I am looking forward to meeting my new friends from Fan and Friends who are going to the concert!!
God is great! all my best to everyone
Bob Ruark (hooked on April 25th at 8 PM)
All I can say is WHOOPPPIIIIEEEE! We will be right there with you DJ! The time does go fast. Now if I can get rid of this cold that fast I will be in good shape. THANK YOU
I'm so happy for you & Robert, going to you concert. What fun you all will have.We expect to hear all about it. I see that Kati got Mr Bill to bring out the chartruese marker.
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I missed April Fool's Day, was too busy to comment. My dad was born on April Fool's Day.
Jeanine, hope you feel better real soon, wouldn't want to see André with a cold, but it should be much better by then.
I sure do wish I was going. I'm really going to miss not seeing an André concert this year...but who knows, if I hit the Lottery, I may see one anyway...yeah right!
Just a reminder, André in Wonderland, DVD & CD, should now be available at most Barnes & Noble stores, as of 1 April 2008
11 May 2008 , Mother's Day.....I wonder if André will surprise mothers all over the world with another live podcast. Let's all think positive thoughts & hope André surprises (?) us again this year
I just looked at Andrés itinerary; NO CONCERTS, are currently scheduled between 27 April & 16 May. This is a good sign!
I just read in the articles about André selling 1 million, that he is going to Australia next month for some work on the dvd he's going to be making down there...down under. I assume that's why he's not going to be doing any concerts next month.
It would be a nice surprise to have another live podcast for Mother's Day this year.
Once upon a time there was this girl. She seemed to feel the pressure of the world on her shoulders alot lately. Deaths of loved ones, near to death for others in her family, responsibilities of power of attorney and estate trustee for two people, both needing her help quite alot. A child to raise, work (although she enjoys what she does), her marriage on the rocks, relatives fighting over trivial things, her looks fading her as she is aging, the list could go on and on...
Then one day the Angel of Get Over Yourself came and paid her a visit.
The Angel said: The secret to being a successful human being lies not in concentrating on the outside and what others believe or think. The secret of success lies inside yourself.
The Angel said, "Go out and befriend as many people as you can. Be part of the world in making it a better place. Join causes and give of your spirit. You were given a spirit to help the world, yet not drain yourself of all your worth."
This girl was not uneducated or lacked smarts in anyway. She understood finally that what brings success to a person is the energy of love they are willing to take from within their soul and place out to the world. Bare their being as they truly are, without fear.
From this there is only love...
Love Grace
Thank you dear Grace. That is beautiful.
Much love and many hugs,
Jeanine Ann
Thank You Jeanine Ann. You are a wonderful addition to this site. Thank You for the Angel I love it.
Love Much
Gracie
xoxoxoxo
Chin up my dear friend. Everything happens for a reason. You are a precious human being and that's all you need to remember. The love you give will always come back to you.
Angela x x x
Grace, This is full of wisdom and truth. Thank you.
That's just beautiful Grace. It's so perfect! Thanks.
One of the things I love about this site are the words of wisdom and inspiration from so many contributors. Hugs to all. Lyn
Dear friends I am waiting for two of Andre's dvds which will come from KSPS,
Spokane, but it takes at least six weeks so have at least two more of wait-time. As always they will be beautiful
I am looking forward to the 6cd pack as soon as it is available on the boutique,
altho it may be at Barnes & Noble, who have a store in Calgary. I'm hoping that Andre will come again to Alberta but that won't be until 2009 or 2010 at
the earliest. The hand gets evaluated in
Sept as I had to reschedule, so it is more wait!! Doctor availability is very
bad right across the country, so all physicians are swamped with patients &
all are overworked something terrible.
My friend, Yvonne has to wait until mid-July to see a dermotologist, & that is one specialty that is not usually booked to the nines. No new concerts for the foreseeable future in my area, so
will have to depend on cd's & dvd's for
now, but will have a couple of new ones
to enjoy very soon. To choose a favorite
is impossible, but I really like the Bolero as done by Marc Falize. I have been fighting a case of depression since late January & had hoped to shake it out of myself, but on Monday, I will
see the doctor & get some picker uppers
It is hard to cope with & you just drag yourself around like a limp dishrag, so I hope a course of medication will alleviate the situation. I do believe it is a combination of long, grey winter
being stuck indoors & worries that just don't seem to have a solution. I have been coping with great difficulty, & having trouble sleeping so it is all the
same boat. I think I can make this better with a little help. Sure hope so
as it is sure not me to drag around & not care if I get up to face another day
Well enough of my troubles!! I hope everyone is well. Love to All
Marianne
Hi Marianne,
So glad you are waiting for two DVD's. You didn't mention which ones. I am always anxious to know what everyone is looking forward to.
I am sorry you are depressed. I know how that is. I think it could be the long cold winter because I feel the same way. I take meds and they help. Just keep those CD's and DVD's going. They are great when you feel down. Big hugs to you today and every day.
Grace, I thank you from the bottom of my
broken heart, to see the courage and strength you are sharing with many of us. I myself can not seem to snap to my happy-go-lucky self. I've been dumped upon, demanded so much from, and yet I am at the lowest possible place I said I would never let myself dare go again. Even with all the wonderful news about Andre, I am at such a lonely space in time. Each day seems to bring another road block for me. But, seeing that you believe in your self makes me think, why not me also? Thanks for the words of encouragement. Had I not seen your words I was going to log in and sing to anyone that was out there listening. So here goes - Smile, though your heart is aching. Smile, though it feels like breaking; well I think you know the rest
of this sad song goes. So, c'mon...there
must be SOMETHING to smile about! How about sending each other a smilie HUG,
whatever it takes to make us smile, I'll
do it, because that's what friends are for. Thanks again, my wise friend. :}
Something to smile about...........
A priest dies and is waiting in line at the Pearly Gates. Ahead of him
is a guy who's dressed in sunglasses, a loud shirt, leather jacket and
jeans.
Saint Peter addresses this cool guy: "Who are you, so that I may know
whether or not to admit you to the Kingdom of Heaven?"
The guy replies, "I'm Peter Pilot, retired American Airlines Pilot from
Dallas.
"Saint Peter consults his list. He smiles and says to the pilot, "Take
this silken robe and golden staff and enter the Kingdom." The pilot goes
into Heaven with his robe and staff.
Next it's the priest's turn. He stands erect and booms out, "I am Father
Joe, pastor of Saint Mary's in Pasadena for the last 43 years."
Saint Peter consults his list. He says to the priest, "Take this cotton
robe and wooden staff and enter the Kingdom."
Just a minute," says the good father, "That man was a pilot and he gets
a silken robe and golden staff, and I get only cotton an d wood. How can
this be?"
"Up here we go by results," says Saint Peter. "When you preached people
slept; when he flew people prayed!"
Smiles and hugs from me!
Dear friends. to-day has become a little better, so I sure hope I've turned the corner to a better frame of mind. Luckily I can lose myself in a good story, which I have on the go right now, all about submariners, who really have to be a special breed of man
to take the confinement & loneliness of patrol. The boredom must be terrible &
they are also separated from their wives & kids, even tho' it is peacetime
this defense duty has to be carried on in all the services. The only upgrade
has been in communications, with satelite connections, but they can't be used much for familial talking, as it is mostly the business of protecting our coasts from ememies, either real or perceived. I am very sure that the U.S.
will never be caught napping as was the case with Pearl Harbor. At the time, Canada was already in the field, ill-
trained, with antiquated weaponry. We are about a 10th of the U.S. population
and we share pretty much the same problems, just at a different level. We
at least are training our warriors, just in case & I do believe, if it comes
to the extent of WW2, we will be ready to face whatever threat comes our way &
& we do not dare to become too complacent, but we can still hope that a
world conflagration can be avoided.
for me it was WW2 & the Korean conflict.
so I am hoping for now more in the waning years, however long they may be.
I'd like to stay around & see my grand
kid, married settled, with my great grand kids. The first one is due in the next two or three weeks. Exciting, boy
or girl will be the surprise as long as
he or she is healthy. People talk about the fountain of youth, where you never age, but your real imortality comes from those left behind & they have memories of the things you've done to-gether, Many of my contempories have already passed this earth in my age group, but I expect I'll be around a while yet. If I can equal my Granny, I
could even have a double great grandchild by they, Only the Lord above knows your future. The only thing different with me is I go at a slower pace, & not the frenetic pace of even five years ago, & the arthritic hands don't function as I'd like, but I can still do accounting manually & hold a pen for 7/8 hours a day, so I can't do too much complaining. Love to all Marianne
Hi everyone, No I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth ... just trying to cope with everyday life ... working very long hours, had a bout of tonsilitis (which lasted 3 weeks) trying to cheer up my sister, etc etc just general stuff that makes life a challenge.... but rest assured I have been reading, laughing, crying at some of your gorgeous comments on this website.... my computer at home has been having an attack of the neglects, haven't been on there for so long... so I thought the only way was to get to work early and send one thru...
I have attached the Aussie Andre website if anybody is interested.
http://www.aussiefansforandrerieu-webpage.org/
It's quite interesting and has some lovely pics which kept me amused for ages.
I am so glad to hear that Sally is on the mend, I have sent her a card to cheer her up and I'm sure she would have received this by now ... Well I hope everyone has a great week and I will try my hardest to get back on the site soon ... but rest assured, I read every word ... Hugs to you all xxxxxxxx Les
Smiles to Les, sounds like you have been going through the same blah's down
days. It seems like a feeling a just can't shake off. Two weeks agao, I was in such great spirits, seems like if any
bad things happened, I just let it slide off my back. Not now - its gotta be cabin fever, and the disappointment in a pal cancelling on going to an Andre Concert. But this to shall pass, so accept all my smiles and hugs. I do have a question for you. I must have missed the updated hospital address for
our "MOMMIE" Sally. I have a card, but it sure is not doing her any good sitting here. Go 'back' a day or two and you'll
catch the "PUN WARNING" joke. Hang in and welcome back to the web we weave with 'happiness' for one another.
Hi everyone, the weekend and week have been busy again. Today was eye doctor time. It has been about three years so we thought we had better get checked. All is well except I need a new prescription but our eyes are otherwise healthy. My distance vision has been a little fuzzy so this should fix that up, besides I need to have my eyes focused right so that I can see Andre better in two weeks
Leslie I am so glad to hear from you. I hope you are well and also your sister Mavis, how is she? I guess you are so anxious for November/December and I cannot blame you. You are in for such a treat. I can hardly tell you what it is like when Andre walks on stage. The entire atmosphere becomes charged and it is like something magical happening. You will see what I mean when the time comes.
Hugs to everyone and I hope all the blahs go away soon. The only cure I have found is watching Andre. He always brings a smile to my face.
Hi dear Judith, I hope your blahs go away. I get that a lot. You are too sweet to have the blues. Does this help!!!!! Take care my sweet friend. Hugs to you and to all.
y
What a wonderful photo! Thanks Jeanine Ann for all the work you are doing and for these little added bonuses.
Shirley, I am ROTFWL, that was a real smile pleaser. I have a little something here to share. I was at a local nursing home this afternoon to have their Activity Director play Andre's Wonderland DVD. Ya should have seen their smiles, grovin wheelchairs,
and the disco walkers. Before this little event, the chaplin had Mass for my active groupies. Father Joe left us with a little joke of his own, which I thought was hillarious, since I've been in the dumps. So here goes. It also comes with a warning: PUN AHEAD:
{ Some friars needed to raise more money
for books for the school, so they opened a small florist shop to help raise some funds. Since everyone enjoyed buying flowers from the men of God, a rivial florist, 'cross town thought the competition was unfair. He asked the good brothers to close down their little shop, but they would not. He went back and begged the friars to close shop. The friars simply ignored him. So, the rival florist hired Hugh McTaggart, the roughest, bully and most vicious thug in town to "persuade" the friars to CLOSE UPSHOP! Hugh beat up the friars and totally trashed their little shop, saying he'd be back, if they didn't close up that shop post haste!
Terrified, they did so, thereby proving that "ONLY HUGH CAN PREVENT FLORIST FRIARS". } grone, aahh, are you serious,
I did warn you - anywho, hope you got a little chuckle. Guess I'm not up to speed with my merry making. With that I leave you with a song in your heart and
a couple turns around the dance floor.
Happy Sunday to all.
Judith, I love it!Not only the "florist friars", but the mind picture of the "groovin wheelchairs & disco walkers"!I'll bet the seniors did "get down".It's hard not to move when Andre plays.Judith, even if you're not quite up to it, you still spent your time making someone else happy. Isn't that what it's all about? I like the phrase that Marianne always says, "it could always be worse". Isn't that a profound statement? I think in helping others, we help ourselves. And a smile can sure change someone's day! Peace to you Miss Judith.
There is some movement in the person of the year voting. For the week Andre has moved up but if you hit on the overall standings Andre is still at no. 5 and needs 800 votes to move to no. 4, assuming no. 4 gets none, so I am trying to think of people to ask to vote. Suzan is no. 24 which is disappointing. So another reminder for everyone to vote.
Virginia, I have been voting on a daily basis. It is so sad to see some of our
favorite people only get 3 votes from the previous day. I have a list of 14 that I have been voting for like clock work - when I get to Andre, I talk to him a bit before I hit the 'Stem' - I also have been keeping a daily journal of how the numbers are doing. Thanks for leaving a reminder, your great!
"Board of Elections Divivion" Chip-chip

Hi Virginia & Judith, I have been voting daily as well so I guess I am the third person voting for those JSO members who only are only registering three votes per day. I have a list of 12 including Andre, Carmen, Carla, Suzan, Mirusia, Pierre and Marjorie but perhaps there are a couple whose names I do not recognise as being members of the JSO. Some days I do have a problem voting for Mirusia as the message which appears says that a vote has already been received for her from the ip allocated to my internet provider. At least that is what I have been able to translate from the Dutch using an on-line translator. On those occasions I have not already voted for that day so I am uncertain just what is going on. I would have thought it would be based on my own ip not the internet provider's ip. Consequently I wonder if everyone else who uses that internet provider is effectively blocked from voting. Most annoying especially as Miruisa is from my hometown of Brisbane! Enough of my grumbles though. Cheers. Lyn

I had scheduled two concerts to go with a friend. Just over the week-end, she backed out, left me devistated and in the dumps. So, looks like I'll have to wait for 2009, or just possible find a reliable concert person, as it's only me
going alone, where ever might be....
thanks again, I have made a copy and posted on my door, so when ever I leave
the homestead, maybe I'll hook up with a
friendly face willing to go with me. To bad we could'nt rent a bus and make it a grand slam Andre Concert Tour. xoxo
Judith, In what city were you planning to go to see Andre's concert?
DJ Bob
Hi everyone. Yesterday, April 7 Andre and his JSO were awarded the "Honor Medal in Gold for exceptional merits" by the Mayor of Maastricht. This is the highest decoration the city can bestow upon its citizens: the order of merit.
Congratulations to Andre and the JSO; it is well deserved!!
Hugs
Yes, Jeanine Ann,when I went to Andre's site this am, first thing I saw was his message.Mayor calls him the "best ambassador in the world". I always thought he was a great goodwill ambassador, not only him but the orchestra too. Before Andre I had never even heard of a place named Maastricht. In fact I didn't know all that much about Holland (still don't know a lot) but more than I used to. Anyway, we certainly congratuate them all.
I woke up early this morning to thunderstorms & rain, so I went back to bed for a bit.(something I rarely do). It was nice! As I've gotten older & retired, I find I can really enjoy doing absolutely nothing! and I'm getting so good at it!!
Andre Rieu Takes a Musical Trip to "Wonderland" on U.S. Tour
Monday April 7, 1:11 pm ET
"ANDRE RIEU IN WONDERLAND" CD/DVD in Stores Now on Denon Classics
Recorded at Efteling, a beautiful fairy-tale theme park located in central Holland, "ANDRE RIEU IN WONDERLAND" is a showcase for Rieu, his orchestra, dancers and special guest soloists. The DVD and CD capture performances taken from or inspired by classic fairy tales such as Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Swan Lake, The Magic Flute, The Old Castle and others. Accompanying Rieu on this unforgettable show are the Ballet of the Vienna State Opera, The International Dance Theatre and The Berlin Folk-Music Sparrows. "ANDRE RIEU IN WONDERLAND" is available now on DVD and CD formats.
Andre Rieu has earned the distinction the #1 pledge drive artist for PBS. With the release last year of one of his most successful projects to date, "RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL LIVE IN NEW YORK," the Dutch maestro known fondly as "The Waltz King" took U.S. audiences by storm with frequent and high profile airings of the DVD on PBS' pledge drives in the Fall and throughout December. Already established as one of the top performing and selling classical artists worldwide and a platinum selling artist in the US, Rieu's popularity shows no signs of waning as "RADIO CITY" debuted at #1 on the Billboard Classical Crossover chart shortly after its release on September 11. Rieu's worldwide appeal is as strong as ever having recently earned a Gold sales award in Canada and continues to sell out arenas around the globe as well as in the U.S. Rieu's U.S.-based label Denon Classics was the #1 Independent Classical Label for 2007 and #3 Classical Label overall for 2007.
Cities and dates for the Andre Rieu in Wonderland Tour are as follows:
The Savoy Label Group (SLG) features not only the historic Savoy Jazz label but also the Denon, Denon Classics, SLG and 429 Records labels. Savoy Label Group is the North American unit of Columbia Music Entertainment (formerly Nippon Columbia), the oldest music company in Japan. SLG is lead by Steve Vining and CME is headed by Chairman Strauss Zelnick, founder of Zelnick Media which owns interests in and manages an array of media companies.
I DO LIKE THOSE DAYS ALSO, SHIRLEY, FEELS GOOD, TO DO NOTHING! MORE WEATHER IS COMING, STARTS TO NIGHT, WITH HEAVY SNOW MAYBE RAIN FIRST, COLD, I DO NOT WANT IT ANYMORE. IT IS SO NICE TODAY, THIS CHANGE IS GOING YOUR WAY ALSO. KATI
Yes Kati, I know, we have sever weather forcast for tonite & tomorrow.
I just got a "funny" letter in the mail today.
Funny because it was from our Public Library & it was addressed to the Estate of Shirley Sue Kirk.
In a nutshell, they were expressing sympathy at my passing & wanted to let the estate know that I had a book checked out
& if someone could find it & send it back to them it would be appreciated.
I just called them & told them I am NOT the same lady who died this last week. We did get a good laugh out of it, especially since my daughter works down there too.
I had known there was another by that same name & I read about her passing in the newspaper.Luckily her picture was in the paper& we look nothing alike.
TOO GOOD NOT TO SHARE.
"Walk in the rain, jump in mud puddles, collect rocks, rainbows and roses, smell flowers, blow bubbles, stop along the way, build sandcastles, say hello to everyone, go barefoot, go on adventures, act silly, fly kites, have a merry heart, talk with animals, sing in the shower, read childrens' books, take bubble baths, get new sneakers, hold hands and hug and kiss, dance, laugh and cry for the health of it, wonder and wander around, feel happy and precious and innocent, feel scared, feel sad, feel mad, give up worry and guilt and shame, say yes, say no, say the magic words, ask lots of questions, ride bicycles, draw and paint, see things differently, fall down and get up again, look at the sky, watch the sun rise and sun set, watch clouds and name their shapes, watch the moon and stars come out, trust the universe, stay up late, climb trees, daydream, do nothing and do it very well, learn new stuff, be excited about everything, be a clown, enjoy having a body, listen to music, find out how things work, make up new rules, tell stories, save the world, make friends with the other kids on the block, and do anything else that brings more happiness, celebration, health, love, joy, creativity, pleasure, abundance, grace, self-esteem, courage, balance, spontaneity, passion, beauty, peace, relaxation, communication and life energy to...all living beings on this planet".
-Bruce Williamson, It's Never Too Late To Have A Happy Childhood, 1987
Dear Judith. It is sad that I am so far away from you, but you can go alone &
still be lost in Andre's music. It is good to be able to share but with my friends in the building where I live, you say classical or semi classical & they just cringe, as they think long, hair music, sit like a statue & be a mouse, which you can't do at an Andre concert as there is so much audience participation & is so much fun, plus the afterglow is ongoing for days. For me, I felt like I was six feet off the ground for many days after the 1st live
concert & I can repeat the depth of enjoyment any time I want as I have a few dvds & cds, which I can play in the car on a portable player, so if I'm in the dumps, a little Andre music is all I
need to lift my mood. I really love Live in Tuscany as that is where my maternal ancestry began & the rest were
Dutch Irish, plus a little smatter of northern Italian, so I have ties in many places. The ancestry research is fun as long as you remember that ancestry is all well & good, but recall
that they are like potatoes, the best part is underground, & who you are yourself is the important part. Always be the best you can be, and be kind to others. Love to all Marianne
Hi everyone, To Judith, I would not hesitate to go to any performance by Andre by myself. Once there you will see that all his fans are the nicest, friendliest people anywhere. You will meet very nice folks and you will be so glad you went. Seeing Andre and the JSO in person is one of the greatest events I have ever been to. You may even see some of the JSO walking around.
I am home with a cold, but still just thinking about all of you who will be attending the upcoming concerts makes me smile.
I have also been one who has dealt with depression, having been on meds for it since the mid eighties. I still have days I am down, but it goes away. I find that getting out and walking etc. helps.
I am anxious to hear from Sally again, and wish her a speedy recovery!
Jeanine Ann, you are doing a great job, and you have the best pictures!
Marilyn B, now W. Yes I got married on Feb 29th (leap year).
MARILYN, IS THE W MEANS WINNER?? I HOPE SO! YES, I DO AGREE ABOUT THE NICEST PEOPLE, I HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE OVER THE YEARS! MEETING ONE OF THE NICEST, YET TO COME, THAT IS BILL IN ARIZONA. ONE OF THOSE DAYS BILL, ONE OF THOSE DAYS!!! HAHAHA! I WILL SHOW UP IN CHARTREUSE !! KATI
Also. remember that André encourages concert goers to bring their camera & to take photos. And if the guy next to you doesn't ask you to dance, ask him!
I always see JSO members wandering around before the concert.....to see them you need to arrive at least 2 hours before the concert. Familiarize your self with the JSO members so you can call out to them by their name... go here to put names to faces
Congratulation to André and the JSO on the Ambassador Merit Medal! If there were anyone on this planet who deserves this medal, it would be André and the JSO! They accomplish an incredible amount of good in this world, doing so many good things, spreading happiness and beautiful music everywhere.
Shirley, thanks for posting that paragraph...it certainly is happy. I believe that if more children would grow up doing those things, there would be a lot more happy adults!
Thanks Jeanine Ann for posting the Press Release. I would LOVE to see the Wonderland concert in person.
Congratulations Marilyn! I wish you all the happiness in the world. I know this is belated, but didn't know 'til now!
Judith, I'm sorry your friend backed out, it's too bad because she will miss a wonderful event! I would go alone if no one else would go with me. I have always went with someone, but was always prepared for whatever. Trust me, there are so many friendly people at André's concerts, you can't help but be amazed. They are ALL happy and anxious, friendly and of course, are there to hear André and the JSO. You will love the evening!
Take care everyone. Be safe and happy, and know you always have a friend on this blog!
dear Friends, I've been on the meds since Monday & I am already much improved, so I am happy about that!! Mood swings from one extreme to the other is not fun. I am far from being alone in this but it is getting better
Go back to the Doc,May 5th for evaluation, which should be all good
Glad to hear Sally is getting better, she has had a real siege of downtime, which isn't fun for anyone. Constant pain really wears you down, like my right hand which is a mess. Still have a few weeks before the orthopedic surgeon
takes a look, & then we'll choose either
surgery or maybe some kind of physical therapy exercises. Will just have to be patient & wait for the appointment times
to arrive. & that is in Sept. I'm also coping with the memory gaps, by writing
everything down as I do them & I have a
list of things to do,o I don't forget
It's a nuisance, but as you age one has to make adjustments for the aging process. Judith, I hope you find a congenial companion to enjoy the concert
if not just enjoy your seat mates as no-one goes to an Andre without the will to enjoy!! Love to all Marianne
Hey every one,
Its been awhile.

Many thanks Jeff. At last we are able to see a full comprehensive listing of what's on the new CD.
Regards
Angela
Angela, if you look at the topic "Andre sells 1 million in Australia", you will find the complete listing also.
HI SHIRLEY, HOW IS THE STORMY WEATHER IN YOUR AREA? IT IS A BLIZZARD OVER HERE, WINTER JUST DO NOT WANT TO GO AWAY, KEEP COMING BACK. WE CAN USE THE MOISTURE, JUST THE REST, IS TOO MUCH ANY MORE. THE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS THE WIND, THE SLUSH, THE COLD, HARD TO BELIEVE, IN 2 DAYS WILL BE 70. HAVE A GOOD DAY! KATI
Good morning Kati,we did have some pretty good thunder & lightning last night & early this morning, about 4 " of rain in our part of town. we have lots of flooding going on, glad we live in a high area.We have friends who are not so lucky. Our total precipitation, since the first of the year, counting the latest,is almost 18". That's a lot!I saw that you had snow,we will have one night of possible frost. I've been guarding my Andre tulips like mad. Only got one, so far, trying to bloom, I take a picture every day, just in case we were to have a hailstorm & they get pelted. We've had that happen before! I've got lilacs blooming and my redbud is looking pretty, just wish SPRING would settle down a bit don't you? We need good weather for Andre! Won't be long now!It would be nice if all the flowers would bloom as a welcome.
HI SHIRLEY, I AM SURE IT WILL BLOOM ALL AROUND HIM! EVERYTHING IS COMING OUT SOONER, IS IT GOOD OR BAD? THIS WILL PASS FAST, UNTIL THE NEXT ONE. JUST STAY INSIDE TODAY, TOMORROW WILL BE A BETTER DAY. KATI
Tonight I am paying for an afternoon sitting in the sun. I knew I would burn but it's the first day of really being warm. Tonight it is really burning. And beginning tomorrow we are in for more cold wet weather for four days so the burn will disappear quickly. Except for a couple of large piles in the parking lot our snow is gone. My sister still has three feet of snow in her back yard. Some flowers are starting to peek up under my porch. I hope some of them are Andre tulips. Can't remember what I planted where. The squirrels usually get half of them anyway. Portland had over 100 inches of snow this winter -- Every Wednesday and every weekend. I don't see Andre until May 23 so hopefully it won't be cold - although last year it was pretty cool. Most of the orchestra had colds - Andre especially. To everyone going to the April concerts have a great time. I will look at comments but will not view any videos of the concerts because I want to be surprised.
The Red Violin
Once upon a time there was a girl who loved the violin. She played this music all through her young life and thought it was the most beautiful sound that any instrument could make. She never played the violin or even tried to play; listening to the lovely music seemed to be enough for her.
One day when she was older she saw a handsome young violinist and for this girl who loved the violin it was love at first sight. How could anyone she thought make such beautiful music with this instrument. She watched his face, not only because he was very good to look at, but because his expressions and his eyes were full of love for the music he was playing. He held his violin like one would hold on to a precious love in his life. She said to herself that no one could make such beautiful sounds unless he had a deep love for music and for this violin. As the years went by she was completely mesmerized by this violinist and his music, so much so that she wanted to make these beautiful sounds as he did.
She bought a violin, it wasn't very expensive and was not very good. She took it to the local country string shop and the owner made it as good as he could so that it would play reasonably well. She had never even held a violin in her life but it felt so right and she knew she had to try because she was so inspired by this handsome violinist. She looked at the violins in the shop and immediately fell in love with a reddish wood instrument. It was a lot more money than she had paid for her first violin. She thought ' I am certainly not worthy of such a fine instrument at this point' so she practiced on her first violin for several months. But she could not get the red violin out of her mind and kept wishing it was hers. Each time she went back to the shop she immediately looked for this violin to be sure it was still there. The proprietor told her he had a little better violin for her which came from Germany and had a better sound. She took this violin but still looked again at the red violin in the case.
She practiced on the new violin but it was not the one she had fallen in love with and she "felt" it was not right. She and her husband constantly talked about the red violin but it was more than they could comfortably pay. But she kept thinking that she did not have the luxury of 40 or 50 years to become a good violinist so why not have the one that she loves. Her husband, being the dear man that he is, agreed to go back to the shop and buy the red violin. It probably has not allowed her to play better but it has allowed her to have the same kind of love for her violin as her handsome violinist. She knows that someday whatever love she puts into her violin will come out in some way for her little world to hear.
Jeanine Ann
What a wonderful story Jeanine Ann!
I hope you enjoy your "feeling" and love for your new violin as much as for the great man who has inspired you!!!! Many thanks to you for sharing this story (and for your husband who fulfilled your wish)
Jeanine Ann,I love this "story". I hope you don't mind that I am saving it.Do you have a picture of this violin? Did you know there is a movie named THE RED VIOLIN? And you know, anything done with love put into it does come out and it makes for a symphony of the heart.
No Shirley I do not mind. Yes I am looking for the movie but haven't been successful. I think maybe my sister can get it for me.
Here is the violin!!!
Jeanine Ann, that is beautiful! Clyde is a very special husband too. Now I know you must watch the movie, the soundtrack alone is worth it. I was able to get the movie at one of our movie rental places.
Thank you sweet Shirley. I love this violin and you are right about Clyde too. The violin came from Germany and is Strad copy as far as the way it is made. I did not know that when I first saw it. I just knew that I loved it, just like the first time I saw Andre and heard him play. I knew nothing about him but it was love at first sight!! Hugs to you
Jeanine Ann,you echo the feelings of many. I was thinking about your violin & I knew it was a heart thing. It reminded me of a time when I was looking for a car, there were two I was interested in, one a red, sporty type and one a more sensible choice. i told the salesman that that I didn't know whether to follow my head or my heart. He said,"I've always found it's wise to follow your heart". I think that's probably true. To listen to the whispers in your heart is a special thing. You have listened to your heart.
HI SHIRLEY, JUST SEEN JOPLIN ON FOX, ALL THE FLOODING! HOW IS EVERYTHING WITH YOUR PROPERTY? HOW TERRIBLE! KATI
Kati, we are ok.We are in the north end and at a higher point with no rivers or water close by. There is a small pond out back in a field behind us but no threat to us. Really is not supposed to be a pond but I guess it's a low spot that, with all the rain, has turned into a pond.
I AM SURE GLAD, EVERYTHING IS ALL RIGHT! KATI
That is good Shirley, glad you are on the safe side. I really feel sorry when people lose their property from any kind of natural or man-made disaster. We are pretty safe here - our weather is mostly a non event. Now I am a real weather nut and I love thunderstorms but not the damaging kind. I wish there was a way to see them and not have them affect anyone but it usually does not happen that way. That is why I really feel for anyone who is in harms way. Florida was the place to live if you like T-storms. We had them every day but then that was it, the sun came out. Well anyway, we are going to get rain but I don't know how much. It is all part of this large spring storm. I believe we will get colder again for Sunday and next week. Well in two weeks I can guarantee it will not be cold where we will be and I can hardly wait!! I am so anxious to see what the spring program will be like. I know some fans who are going to Chicago so I will see if I can find out what songs are on the program for all who want to know ahead of time. One of these years I hope Andre will do "Meditation". That would be a perfect. I would love to hear some of the older music that he did in the 90's. Hope everone has a great weekend! Hugs
Hi Romantic fans, just finished reading
the latest news. Glad Shirley is safe and sound from the weather. We had 68 today so I put on a pair of summer shorts, Now at 8:50pm, brrr, I am cold and back in sweats. We are also having a
lot of heavy rain with the temps taking
a dip. Jeanine Ann, you just torn my heart strings with your absolutely love
story between violin and owner. What a
wonderful feeling that must give you, as
you see yourself one with the violin like an Andre warm, serene feeling. Always savor that feeling, they do not come to us that often. I am so happy for you, and just wish I could grab onto
something that would give me that very special warm and fuzzy feeling. Well all
YOU girls have a wonderful Friday evening. I will close for now, as mother
nature has been lighting up my rooms saving me on electricity; as she has been chiming in with some type of musical instrument. BUT believe me it is not as tranquil and lovely as Andre's
these are more like BOOM-BOX thunder bangers. Stay safe.
Hi Judith, thank you. For whatever it is worth you can always grab onto me as your friend forever because you are such a good friend to me. Hugs
Jeanine Ann, I loved your story. I know that you treasure both Clyde and your red violin.
Wow, I am not the only oldie Fan. I am fortunate to be attending the Brisbane 2nd Concert. I would love to meet any others who will be there. ELLEN
Hi Ellen, You may be interested in emailing the Brisbane Fans Contact Group, on bmobrien@iprimus.com.au.
Shirley, you said that one of your André tulips is starting to bloom? Mine are all only about 3" tall. They aren't even close to blooming. I presume that when we get this nice weather that we are promised(70), they will grow faster and then I should get some nice blooms. I've never been so anxious for a flower to bloom.
Marlene, yes I have the one tulip that is actually blooming, it's about 12" tall now, there are now several more coming up with the buds showing. we do have a couple of nights calling for frost or near freezing, I think I'll try to cover them. I think we need a page just for our Andre tulip pictures. Maybe Jeanine Ann could set that up since Sally is not yet available to do that. First tho', I need to figure out how to get my pictures off the camera to my computer!
That's a great idea Shirley. When we all get our André Tulips blooming, then we should take a picture for everyone to see!
Shirley, there should be a plug in for your camera on your computer. Just plug in your camera, and it should bring up a screen. You should be able to save them and print them. Your camera should have come with an instruction booklet. I'm not an expert, but I've saved pics from my camera.
I have been watching some television footage of the destruction caused by the bad weather in the US. I hope all the Andre fans and friends are OK.
Jeanine Ann, I loved your story about the red violin. I hope it will bring you much pleasure. Clyde must be a real gem. Cheers. Lyn
Hello everyone.
Jeanine Ann, I loved your story about the Red Violin. Interesting that just a couple of days ago, the movie "The Red Violin" was on. I had only a few minutes time, and when I saw your story and noticed the words "Red Violin" I thought you were speaking of the movie. It wasn't until just now that I had the opportunity to read your entire story. It was a beautiful story. It's almost like it was a movie being played and there was this very happy ending...as all good movies have.
I'm sure that when you do learn the violin, you will always remember that moment Clyde gave you the Red Violin!
It truly is very beautiful.
We are having an incredibly beautiful day here. A couple more on the way too. Finally...it's spring! There is nothing like the feeling of spring.
Have a beautiful weekend everyone.
Thank you Marlene, I always will remember the moment. The shop owner left me go back into a little room where I could be alone with the violin and see how it felt. It was wonderful and it didn't take me long to find that out. I must see that movie. Hugs to you
Jeanine Ann, speaking of the movie, THE RED VIOLIN, reminds me of a dvd you might enjoy,
THE ART OF THE VIOLIN. This is a two part documentary of the violin by a violinist. The first part of titled 'The Devil's Instrument' and is an examination of 20th Century violin as master Yehudi Menuhin passes away.
The second part is an examination of artists, playing styles and the instruments themselves. It is titled 'Transcending the Violin'.
This is a very good documentary for any violin student. Lorraine recommended this to me & I & Dan have really enjoyed it. Maybe you have already seen it?
Hi Shirley,
No I have never seen that DVD but I remember Lorraine talking about it quite a while ago. I will see if I can get it. I am sure Amazon would have it. Thanks for reminding me. Have a great day!! Hugs
Hi Jeanine Ann,
Did you ever see the movie the red violin or read the book? That was one of my favorite books that i ever read. you should get it. Good lucky with the violin lessons!!!
-Jeff
Hi Jeff,
We were just talking about the movie and I am trying to find it. I didn't know there was a book also. Thanks so much. Did you see my violin? Just scroll up the page and you will see it. Have a great day. See you on My Space. Hugs
Good Sunday morning everyone.
Only 2 days til Andre's first Spring Tour concert! (in Chicago)
He is here and I went to Holland, well not actually,
through the internet I went to the beautiful KEUKENHOF PARK.
If you have not seen this beautiful place, go to http://www.keukenhof.nl
I understand that this is one of the top 3 most photographed places
in the world. Someone once sent me a video of this place & I love it.
If you love flowers, especially tulips, this will really put you in a
Spring frame of mind. Try listening to one of Andre's cds while looking.
Now I really have Spring Fever, even though we have cold temps here,
I'm really there in Holland!
ALL THE FLOWERS MAKE IT SO SPECIAL, I DO NOT THINK, THERE IS ONE PERSON,. WHO WOULD NOT LIKE IT. PEOPLE IN HOLLAND REALLY KNOW HOW TO ARRANGE FLOWERS, JUST LIKE ORIENTAL PEOPLE, HAVE AN EXCELLENT TOUCH! KATI
Hello-is anyone out there? The weather seemed to have cooperated for most of the country. I even had the opportunity to be in the sunshine ALL day. I feel as if that sunlite acted as an energizer
it lifted my spirits, put back a smile on my face. But now I am fearfull, all my friends have been lost in cyber-space
don't tell me the internet is no more, and I'll never have a sould to talk with
please, if your out there, send me an SOS that you are fine and I have not gone totally bonkers. I have seen no chatter in several days. Y'all can't be with Andre. That would be real cruel to leave me alone. Hello, help, is anyone out there? Please, please, send a note,
I need an Andre "fix"....
I wonder what is going on today.
Anywhere from 2 - 4 times more people are viewing each entry today than is normal. Although there are only 4 comments on todays Guestbook entry, more than 300 people have viewed these replies. Normally there are 125 - 150 viewings of the Guestbook & the day still has 6 hours to go.
Just an observation that I thought might interest y'all
This time tomorrow, André & the Johann Strauß orchestra
MAYBE LOTS OF PEOPLE LEFT FOR THE CONCERTS ALREADY. I HOPE THEY DID, AND LET US KNOW ASAP, HOW WAS IT, WHAT IS THE NEW PROGRAM, WHAT WAS CARMEN SINGING AND SO ON. KATI
Judith, I had to laugh when I read your post. it did seem like a slow day, huh? Sunshine is good!Try taking about 1,ooo units of vitamin D, that's a pretty good mood enhancer too.
All you people out there heading off to André's US concerts, have a wonderful time. Wish I was there :o). Never mind, my turn will come in December. Cheers. Lyn
Thank you Lyn. He will be worth waiting for believe me!!
"Tis God gives skill, but not without men's hand: He could not make Antonio Stradivarius's violins without Antonio".
Thanks, Jeanine Ann. I love this. You come up with the greatest pictures. Hugs
Tickets for sale. I am not sure if I am allowed to do this on this list but I am sure it will be removed if not. I have two tickets for Tampa April 26th that I would regretfully like to sell. They are floor seats row 19. Asking $55 each, that is the price on the ticket.
Thanks,
Wendy

Hello everyone, I spoke with Sally last night and she said to say hello to everyone. She will be back soon!
I'll be so happy when she gets back, as I've missed her so much. She will probably be peeking in here slow to start...but who knows...Sally is quite a gal and she will be going strong in no time!
I am supposed to be getting ready for work, but I had to stop by for a minute to tell you what Sally said.
Have a great day everyone.
Thank you so much Marlene.Gosh, yes! Do we miss her! they say "absence makes the heart grow fonder"? Well my "fonder" has gotten way out of hand!
Girls, meet Andre the Cat!! He is adorable just like Andre. He is one of my friends on MySpace.
Okay that is the good news for the day. Here is the bad news. I and many others do not have our tickets for Miami yet! It is a real mess. We are leaving Monday and the tickets are still laying in the "ticket room" at PBS in Miami. We (and others I know) have been on the phone for days with them trying to get overnight delivery. They always say 'well I don't have the authority to do that'. They were going to send them UPS truck and we said no way. That will take a week to get up north and we cannot take that chance. Seems like they were still taking pledges up until March of this year and rather than have the tickets printed right away for the early pledges they thought it would be cheaper with one print job. Now they have this mess on their hands and we don't have our tickets and they have people coming from the West Coast who don't have their tickets. And you know who will suffer in the end is poor Andre. People will say if they must go through all this to get a ticket to see him they will not do it again. We fans know whose fault it is but some people are quick to blame the star. This happened to us years ago when we went to see Julio Iglesias at a special Mother's Day concert in the Poconos. They over booked the concert and so many people had no seats including us and they kept setting up chairs all the way up to the stage and we just took ONE and I had to sit on Clyde's lap to see the concert and people were so mad they took it out on Julio and that made him mad and he gave no encores after the show - just walked off. In the lobby people were so mad (those who could not even get in because of the over booking) that they were fighting and the State Police had to be called in. Now I look back and laugh about it but it was not funny for those people who brought their Mothers and family and could not see the show. This case is different but you see who gets blamed when people don't get their tickets on time or have no seats when they arrive. Oh I hope and pray this turns out ok. Will let you know. I am so nervous anyway and we don't need this. : ( Hugs
wow, does this bring back scary memories. We went thru a similar experience with our first concert. We actually did get our tickets a week before the concert, after much concern and our hair turning several shades of gray! I think PBS should handle the ticket situation much better than they do. They say that if they mail them too early we might lose them, besides they want to sell as many as possible before they print out the tickets. Don't you think there should be a better way?! What is the date of your concert? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I remember how I felt!
I can't believe that it makes much difference whether PBS prints 8,000 or 10,000 tickets or whatever. They need to set a date say, three weeks before the concert, to have them all mailed. This year I was told by CT PBS that we probably would not get tickets until a couple of weeks before the concert so won't start getting nervous yet. As I was the first one who called, according to the person who answered, we'd better get good seats. For New Hampshire we got the tickets months ahead. Who are they to say they don't mail them early because "we might lose them?" We're better at holding onto our tickets than they are at mailing them on time. I will call May 1 if I don't have them by then. Good luck to everyone who is on pins and needles. Let us know what happens.
OH MY, WHAT A SWEETIE! DOES HE LIKE THE VIOLIN? PURRS LITTLE ANDRE
Shirley I have never heard Andre purr but if I ever do I will let you know!! : )
Oh Shirley when I re read your remark I saw you said "little" Andre and I thought you said purrs LIKE Andre. I just had my glasses changed too
Tampa Tickets. Regretfully we are unable to attend the Tampa Concert on April 26th. I would like to sell the tickets, they are floor seats (2) row 19. The price on the tickets are $55. each.
Please let me know if you are interested.
Thanks,
Wendy,
Cocoa, Florida
Jeanine Ann...is it possible for PBS to email you a "Confirmation Number", just in case the tickets don't arrive in time for the concert? I'm sure there are more than a couple who PBS has done this to...I would think that PBS would want this straightened out before the concert date! Do you know where the PBS station is in Miami? If you go there and they still have the tickets, maybe you could knock on the door?
I cannot imagine them not getting this straight very soon.
Hi Marlene and everyone, PBS in Miami is in the city and Sunrise/Ft. Lauderdale is pretty far away so we don't even go near the city but the latest news is PBS will overnight the tickets (at our expense $23.50) so I will have the tomorrow but I don't know what time and one of us must be here to sign for them and Clyde must take the car in for a transmission problem in the A.M. and we have a church meeting tomorrow at 5:30 so I am hoping they come before we must leave or one of us will miss the meeting. They are arriving Fed Ex so they could come at any time. Then PBS said they will make all this up to us by giving us a CD or DVD of our choice but since we have every one that Andre has made that is no big deal and besides it is not free since we must pay for their mistake in not having the tickets out in time. I don't know what the people on the West Coast are doing. I hope they are arranging for box office pickup or they may not have them in time. We are going with Ruth Morgan and she arranged to have her tickets sent to her niece close to her sister's place. But she is nervous too, hoping that they remember to change her address. It would not be so bad but we are leaving Monday so we have time to stop in St. Augustine like we always do and then see the Jacksonville concert and visit DJBob and his wife either the day before the concert or the day after and then on to Miami. The Miami concert is Sunday which normally would be okay but PBS should not wait this long to get tickets out. I just hope everyone else out of state will get theirs in time or there will be a long line at the "will call" on Sunday.
Anyway I always worry about people not getting there and that will look bad for Andre. I did learn we have row 5 on the floor so that is some consolation. There is no center, they have two middle sections so both are in front of the stage and Andre will come down the side aisle probably on the left because of the location of the stairs. But I don't know if we are in section 1 or 2, I was barely able to get the row from the man we spoke to. But I hope all will turn out well for everyone.
Wendy I would love to buy your tickets but we will be on the opposite coast. Can you try to sell them on Ebay? That usually works. I wish you luck but I am sorry you cannot make it to the concert. I know how disappointed you must be.
I heard from Sally today as did Marlene. I think she told us both the same thing that she hopefully will get out of the hospital Thursday but she has a terrible cold and I could hardly understand what she was saying but she was concerned about her kitties because she was told that it was contagious and the cats and birds could get this "bug". I think that is what I understood. Marlene maybe can tell us more. She said "HI" to everyone and is very anxious to get home.
I will keep you up to date on all that happens tomorrow!! I need an Andre fix real bad and that is what I told Sally - she needs a good Andre concert to get her on the mend. Hugs to all
If you have the FedEX package #, I'd suggest calling FedEX in the morning & asking someone if anyone can give you a window of what time the package is likely to be delivered?
Dear Bill:
Call Fedex (1-800-463-3339)after you press 1 for English, the menu will come on, ask for customer service. When you are switched to a ''live'' customer service representative, ask them for a customer service advocate and they will help you anyway they can including tracking your package from start to finish and they have the authority to leave a package without a signature. This a very helpful extra service and they are very good at it. They will need a tracking number.
Sincerely
Joe Fabrizio
Hey all,
wow i cant believe whats going on about your tickets that terrible!!! I hope that you get it all sorted out!
-Jeff
Jeff, I'm thinking that everything will turn out just fine. You know how Jeanine Ann is before a concert anyway, like on pins & needles?
Jeanine Ann, you will tell us won't you? haha (gosh I hope so)
Hi everyone, well the tickets finally made it to our house today around noon. Boy was I relieved. I will sleep better tonight. I am worried about all the other people who maybe don't have their tickets. I hope they did what I did and told them to ship Fed Ex overnight. It cost us but it was worth it. No fair but life is not fair and I will do anything to get to a concert. Yes Shirley I am a mess before a concert. Even my butterflies have butterflies! We are having this big European dinner before the concert in Jacksonville and they will probably make a lot of money on my dinner. It was the same in Toronto. The food is so good but my stomach I think is upside down and does not want any food. We are in row F which I guess will be row 6, seats 3 and 4. We are section 1 (there is no center as such so l and 2 are the center) and I hope 3 and 4 would be toward the center of the stage. They are better than last year so I will see what I can do as far as photos. I heard from someone who was there and there are some surprises (which I don't know yet but I will find out). Mirusia is there, Suzan and Carmen are not. The Tenors still do Pavarotti song so that makes me happy. I will be sure to tell you all about it. I am taking my laptop so you will not have to wait too long.
Well it is bedtime here in the Northeast so I am beat. See you tomorrow. Hugs
Hi Jeanine Ann,
So pleased to hear that you have received your tickets finally. That must have a very anxious wait. Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful time at the concert. and a safe journey. How far do you have to travel in distance and time? What mode of transport. I have no idea of geography or distances in the US.
Hi Margaret, I just thought of something. You emailed me for some photos. I am so sorry. I will get right on that. It has been hectic here since Easter and I completely forgot. We are driving to Jacksonville and Miami. Miami would be over 1,200 miles from our home, Jacksonville is about 350 miles closer but all in all it is a long trip. So it will be driving over 2,400 miles and we must cross the state to get to Fort Myers where our doctor is. We really travel to see Andre!!! He is well worth it. Atlantic City is about 4 hours from here. The closest is Reading which is about 1 hour.
I hope all is well with you and I will be in touch with you. Hugs
Well, I just finished typing almost 1200 words explaining about Sally and comments on Jeanine Ann's concert tickets, etc. I clicked "submit comment" and it went into cyberspace. I will eventually learn to copy it before I click "submit", however, now...I cannot remember everything that I said, in the way that I said it.
So, I will short-form it now...
What Jeanine Ann said about Sally, is correct. I did talk with her Monday and she sounds really good (so much better than last time!). She also said that the doctors were talking that she could probably go home tomorrow (Thursday). The "bug" she got was while she was in the hospital, and she had to be put in isolation. She was quite concerned about going home and passing this bug on to her kitties and birds, which is a possibility.
I would be quite surprised if the doctors would allow her to go home if she was still contagious. I really doubt that they would do that.
So, I'm thinking that if she were able to go home tomorrow, she's no longer contagious.
Sally also stated that she was very tired of hospital food and that she was now (then) eating a pizza that her daughter had brought in.
She also wanted me to tell you hello and she misses you all very much. She's very anxious to get back.
She couldn't miss us any more than I miss her.
And, as Shirley so aptly put it...
"I want my Mommie!"
Jeanine Ann...did you get your tickets today? I hope so! You will have me on pins and needles if you didn't.
I hope everyone who had a concert tonight...will write and tell us all about it!!!!! We are very André deprived on the West Coast, and being that we are not going to have a concert this year, it's only going to get worse...so, the more words and descriptions you can say, the better it will be...pictures will be wonderful too!
If anyone has a specific, detailed concert report, I'll put up a topic devoted to that specific concert.
Bill I will have one on Jacksonville and Miami for April. May I will have Atlantic City and Reading. I should have photos too. I can hardly wait. I hear the concert is terrific! Hugs
While browsing this morning, I found the following:

Hope the site opens; there are pictues.
Joanne
dear friends I know what being Andre deprived of concerts is as we in Western Canada have the same problem, No
concerts, so that the Aussies & Kiwis,
New Zealanders can get a taste of Andre & the Viennese concerts. I kind of think that it is on the agenda to bring it to North America in either 2009 or 2010, which is a rather long wait. Wish
I lived closer to Tampa Fla, & would grab Wendy's tickets in a heartbeat. I'm
still waiting for my pledge dvds from
PBS in Spokane. All three concerts I've attended came from the pledge drives &
arrived in ample time with no problems.
I think it must depend on who is responsible for the collation of pledges etc & they do a good job so I can't fault them at all. I am glad to hear that Sally is on the mend, with a set-back from a cold she got while in hospital. Likely a super bug as that seems to be what happens in hospitals in
recent years. They can be very tenacious
& can leave you with anemia etc & you feel dragged out. No fun!! But it is Spring & you all have a whole summer to
recuperate. My depression situation is improving so I am thankful for that small mercy. It just isn't me to drag about like a limp dishrag, but I am over the worst of it, sort of no place to go but up!! I read all the comments on both Andre sites, & the Chicago concert was well enjoyed & there will be more comments to follow as the tour
progresses. Think the closest he will get is Phoenix AZ & that is just too far away for me. Now we have to have passports to drive into the U.S, due to all the events that have happened since 9/11, Heard someone the other day who said they didn't think that happened same as denying the holocaust. Sweep it under the rug & pretend it was a hoax.
Over the years since WW2 there have been many catastrophes perpetrated by
fanatics, plus the natural disasters that come when Mother Nature goes on a rampage. B.C. could very well have floods this year as could the Pacific Northwest. Last one was 1948, when the whole west coast suffered both the snowmelt, plus warm June rains. It was very trying, but we survived, even tho about half of my hometown was under water. What a mess, & most folks headed
for high ground until the excess water receded. Our local policeman, camped at our house for the duration, & we could hear the boulders roiling around in the little creek. It was very noisy & the boulders were as big as a small house, so everything in their path was pulverized. Where I live now there is no danger from high water & I live on the 3rd floor so I won't get my feet wet
Well I must run & do errands & clean out my car as I have to go to the Hat with a patient later to-day. Hope all is well with everyone. Like JeanineAnn's
new kitty & Shirley's comment about the paws is so true. Love Marianne
Hi Marianne Peters, gosh yo say you are
Andre deprived, that is what I first thought was wrong with me, but I believe
it's much worse. I need an immediate
"Intervention", I am addicted to Andre, and it looks like I won't be able to see him this year unless a ticket just appeared. But that is wishful thinking. I have to ask you to please explain to me how the PBS, buying CD's, etc, than you are entitled to a ticket. I tried that here in the Buffalo area, and the folks I spoke with thought I was making this up. Sue would appreciate anyone out there to 'splain to lucy, how to do this. Also, I read earlier that someone wrote a long e-mail and when she submitted, it went into cyber space. Well let me tell you, last night I wrote
at about 8:30pm, a wonderful pick me upper for all those awaiting tickets, I mean we are talking a l-o-n-g note, and when I hit the submit comment- ZIP-ZAP and I was completely gone, screen went
zip-zap, check your page and OFF..
Oh well that was yesterday, I wish you all the best for the evening, and I feel like such a baby, because I am crying here, repeating, I wanna go and see an Andre Concert; I'm telling you its like I need and Andre 'fix' NOW.
Hi Judith, Gee you better get "fixed" up right away or you may not make it. Don't you live in New York? You could get to one of the concerts in the Northeast? I am going to put a photo on for you. Maybe this will calm you down. It is sort of a mini-fix.
This is thanks to Iris
Does this help Judith? Check Ticketmaster I am sure there are tickets available. When you make a pledge to PBS and Buffalo is a good one you are pledging for a concert seat. They usually sell for $250.00 for two tickets. You can call them and tell them you want to make a pledge for the Andre Rieu concert in --- wherever you live near. They will give you the prices and you can decide which price you want to pledge. If you pledge the higher amount you will get a good seat. Last year in Reading, Pa. I pledge 250.00 and got first row center - I mean I was smack in front of his gorgeous face and I could hardly breathe right. This year they got wise and thought people will pay a lot to see this guy so they raised it to 450.00 for 2 seats but I could only go the 250.00 route because of all the other concerts so I will be after row 5. Doesn't seem fair to me but that is how they operate. But anyway there are always tickets available on ticketmaster and try Ebay, they sell them too but you will pay there too. Let us know what you can get. Which concert would you go to? I don't know exactly where you live. Hugs
I know there are some pictures on the web that people took at the concerts and so far I have been strong enough not to look at them. Comments have been that there are surprises and I don't want to know ahead of time what they are. We still have a month to wait so I may be in deep withdrawal by then. I am glad you got your tickets Jeanine. I will look at the guestbook and see if everyone made out all right but if they start describing the concert I will skip the description (if I can hold out). I guess we all know already that the "girls" aren't with him except for Mirusia. We will see Carmen in May as she will come to the US for the second half of the tour. So will wait for the surprises. Have a wonderful time everyone.
Hi Jeanine Ann, I am waiting for 10AM today to call ticketmaster in Rochester and Albany (not my favorite area's) but
do you have suggestions on where good seats would be. I have already placed an order with a "hold" till I call. I want floor - right or left side? center?
If Jeanine Ann is busy, any voice will be greatly appreciated. Big Hugs to all.
Judith, just a suggestion, if you are going to the Rochester or Albany concert, you can usually find a diagram of the seating of each arena, try going to the Blue Cross Arena for Rochester, and Times Union Center for Albany, they will have a "seat locator" on the web page, it will usually be an "end stage" layout. At least it will give you an idea of what to ask for, sometimes you just have to take "best available" Good luck.
I agree with Shirley. Do you have a seating chart available? I would try for floor center secion of course as close as you can get to row 1. If you must take a side seat I would go for a seat on your right and Andre's left because he always turns to that side while playing unless he is moving around of course. I will go to Ticketmaster now and see what is available. Hugs
Blue Cross Arena in Rochester
The best I could find was section 42 which is on the floor, row B, seat 8 It is the second section back. Better than way back. That particular seat is probably gone by now but you can something good.
I was looking on e-bay, just to see how many tickets might be for sale. seems there are several, at various prices.
I was shocked at some of the prices for the Australian concerts,$1000 +!? Even for two, that's a lot! Is this
a real price or just someone trying to be greedy? I know this happens anywhere, but it just leaves me with a bad taste!
Just like, on the tonight's news. As most of you know, the pope is here for a visit. Can you believe some are trying to make
a profit from his name? Really dumb things, like "pope soap-on-a rope", or "pope potpourri", even a cardboard cutout
so you can have your picture taken "with the pope". All this just really is a headshaker for me.
NOT AGAIN!!! ALL THOSE T-SHIRTS, I HAVE SEEN THEM SO MANY TIMES!!! I ADORE THE BEST COLOR ON EARTH, CHARTREUSE!! WHY DO NOT PUT IT ON, AND MAKE A PICTURE BILL? NOW, THAT WOULD MAKE MY DAY!! YOU LOVE YOURSELF BILL DON'T YOU? WE LOVE YOU TOO. KATI
Be very careful what you say about the socks.....Shirley gave some of the socks in the photo
VERY UNFORTUNATE, ISN'T? ANYTHING TO MAKE MONEY! I THINK THE AUSTALIAN TICKET PRICES ARE EXCESSIVE, I WOULD NEVER PAY THAT MUCH! I AM SURE THE AUSTRALIAN TOUR WILL NOT BE AN EVERY YEAR EVENT, MAYBE AUSTRALIANS ARE BETTER OFF THAN WE ARE? TO SEE THE CONCERT FOR ANY PRICE, IS JUST NOT FOR ME! IT DOES COST A FORTUNE, IF YOU ADD TRAVEL AND ALL THAT TO IT. GOOD LUCK EVRYBODY OUT THERE! I WILL WAIT FOR A LESS EXPENSIVE, HERE IN THE STATES! I THINK THE 450 PLEDGE IS OVERPRICED ALSO. KATI
NOW THAT'S A REAL HEADSHAKER! HAHAHHA
AND YOUR POINT IS WHAT????????
It took me 20 minutes to find those 2 images. I have a couple of friends that I've just directed to the photo via a link.
One of the individuals, is a very good looking & stacked young woman that would clearly look better in the shorts than I. I'm dying of curiosity to get her response to the photo. If she has an ounce of honesty in her bones, she will agree with me, about looking better in the short. <g>
Well,I'm sure she will at least smile! You are certainly a colorful character Mr Bill. This picture makes me want to burst out singing SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW!
"Snow White received a digital camera as a gift. She took pictures of the dwarves and the forest creatures. So she quickly filled her memory card. She didn't have a printer, so she took the card to a store to have the photos printed. Snow White returned a few days later. She was told there had been a malfunction and her prints would be late. Snow White was so disappointed that she wept. The store clerk tried to console her, saying, "Don't worry. Someday your prints will come."
I don't know how ticket sales are going in CT but I just checked out of curiosity on Ticketmaster and Section 1 row 7 is available. Hopefully someone gave them up and it's not an indication of how the sales are going. This is my first time in CT and it's a new venue so I don't know how it is. So far have resisted looking at any pictures.
I was wondering, since Andre has a concert in Oklahoma City tonight, and it's also the anniversary of the Oklahoma city bombing, if he and the JSO had a chance to watch the Remembrance Ceremony this morning. I think it would be neat if, tonight, they would play Lost Heroes. I'm sure it would be well received there.
MAYBE HE DOES, SHIRLEY, WHAT A WONDERFUL THING WOULD THAT BE!? REMEMBERING A VERY SAD DAY IN HISTORY! KATI
Hi everyone, I have been so busy getting ready for this trip to Florida I am exhausted already and I haven't even seen Andre!! I absolutely cannot wait to see his new show. I picked up a few hints from a friend of mine on My Space and I hear that there will be some surprises. I know some of the songs but won't list them here in case there are some who don't want to know. If you want to know, post it here and I will email you privately. I hate surprises myself. I am just beside myself until I know what he is playing, how is his hair, what does he say etc. : ) Of course I am crazy about this guy but you all know that.
We are leaving around noon on Monday. We will stop at St. Augustine and meet DJBob and some of his friends and then head to Jacksonville Thursday to stay overnight. I am taking my first violin along to try to get it signed. If I take my new one and get it signed I am afraid I will not want to play it. I will take it to every concert all year and whenever the moment comes I will take it.
I am taking my laptop so sometime on Saturday I will try to update you on the concert. We (Clyde and I and Ruth Morgan) are driving to Miami together and will stop by DJBob's place to see them again before we see the second concert. After that concert we will drive to Fort Myers, do all our medical stuff and then on our way home we will meet another fan who is going to the Tampa concert. We do not have tickets for Tampa but we would like to meet this fan. She is a friend on My Space and is a good fan. That is one of the nice things about getting to concerts. You meet so many wonderful fans. We hear from DJBob all the time and now it will be such a wonderful time to meet him and his lovely wife. We will be sure to take photos of all these anticipated happy times.
I really need this Andre fix. I haven't seen him for four months!! Poor baby, huh? I just wish all of you could be with me.
Okay will be back later. Hugs to all
YES!!!! I want to every single little tiny detail of each and every single concert moment...names of songs, backgrounds, SURPRISES, smiles, who sings, who doesn't, funny moments, soul-touching moments, André's solo moments ...E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!!
Ok, you must know by now that I need my André Fix!
I haven't seen him since October, and it really does seem like forever ago.
I wish that I could be with you too...so go ahead and email me with the details Jeanine Ann...you know my email address.
Interestingly enough, I feel the same as you Jeanine Ann...I wish to know every detail as soon as possible. I never care for the "surprise" moments...I'm just too anxious to wait.
I look at it this way...if I get all the surprises before I've seen the concert, then it would be like seeing the concert twice when I actually do see the concert.
Also..."hearing" about something is a lot different to me than "seeing" something. I feel like I've missed a moment if it's for the first time, if I've seen/heard it twice, then the second time around it "sinks in".
Hi Marlene. I agree with you. It's like rereading a book. I always pick up stuff the second time around that I missed the first time and end up with a new perspective.
I'm another one who likes to know what to expect so it can "sink in" better at the concert. Will you please email me at kayberman@sbcglobal.net with details? My first concert was last December in Oakland. I knew very little about André and nothing about the JSO at the time and was not familiar with any of his music. While I loved every single minute of the concert and am now a huge fan of his, I can only remember a few of the songs he played (the ones I already knew). I'm expecting the next concert I attend (New York in May) to be even better now that I'm more familiar with his music and have watched his DVDs and listened to his CDs every day since last Dec. 1!!
From what I've read, the concerts in Chicago and Kansas City were quite different so we may all be surprised anyhow! Thanks so much, Jeanine Ann, and have a wonderful trip!
Hi Jeanine. I would appreciate an email telling me about André's concert as I probably won't be going to one of his concerts this year as he is not coming to the West Coast. Hopefully next year. Have a wonderful time. It sounds like it's going to be a terrific concert. Hugs and thanks in advance for the information and all else that you do.
Hi Jeanine. Do you have my email address? Let me know if you don't.
Cheers and have a wonderful time.
Hi Shirley & Kati, In reply to your question about the price of tickets to André's concerts in Australia, the official price is definitely not $1000. The prices range from $A299-$A99,equivalent to about $US279-$US92.
I have said my piece about scalpers before on this site so I won't repeat it all but the unscrupulous people who are selling on e bay at these highly inflated prices are taking advantage of those who are foolish enough to be that gullible. Scalping is illegal here in Queensland and anyone who purchases a ticket from non-authorised agents at these highly inflated prices could well find themselves with a worthless piece of paper when they arrive at the stadium for the concert.
People who buy a ticket and then find they can't attend the concert for whatever reason are protected as long as they sell their ticket for no more than 10% mark-up to cover admin costs.
André's popularity in Australia is just growing and growing, considering he only receives airtime on one cable TV station and, in Queensland, on radio 4BC and occasionally 4MBS and I believe some radio stations in other states(the free-to-air TV stations do not show his concerts at all). A lot of his popularity is due to his fans passing the message on. Once people 'find' André they tell their friends and acquaintenances, some of those become André fans and tell their friends and so on.
Have a lovely weekend all. Cheers. Lyn
Hello all,
I would really hate to know there are two empty seats that I have tickets for next week for the Tampa concert.
If you know anyone who may be interested in these tickets please contact me at wjknine@aol.com.
Regards,
Wendy
Cocoa, Florida
Dear friends & Judith. Our PBS station
from Spokane has pledge drives, which can be paid via postdated cheques in the price range of 150.00 & up & you receive the pledge gifts, which the last time was Andre in Wonderland, dvd
& cd, plus a bonus cd with a lot of songs from other cds & dvds. You keep the programs coming plus get an appreciation gift. We are in the middle
of a spring snowstorm which covers all the west coast, no let up until mid-week
& so far we have had close to 20 inches of snow!! Phooey & its been cold as well
so I've been house bound since last Thursday. My grand-daughter in law is in hospital but no baby as yet. She's been moved to the Hat for a c-section if needed as they don't do any surgery in Brooks. Think she will be okay, but for the moment it is a wait time. Hope everyone is well Love to all Marianne
I guess I'm in the minority. But I still am trying to keep to my vow of not looking at the pictures etc. before I go to the concert. I hope I can hold out for a month. I think it's because the last couple of years I have felt "same old stuff." Not that I didn't enjoy it but there was nothing new. So this year I decided that I did not want to know ahead of time. I wish I had seen the last Vienna concert. Looks as if it was fabulous. I did not know what they would be doing for the Radio City Special and thought it was great especially because he did three solos. Yes the gospel choir was over the top but the for first couple of songs they were okay. And Sister Act was so cute. And of course Akim was there showing us how much he had improved. All very pleasant surprises. That's when I decided I didn't want to know ahead of time. Toronto of course was nothing new but to be in the first audience to see the set and meet so many people was not to be missed. Anyway, all of you who are seeing the April concerts have a great time. We don't get to see him until May 23.
To all those who will be at the Nokia Theatre tonight, please know that our thoughts are with you there. I sincerely wish we could have been there too. This is just not our year, maybe next year I can go to at least one concert. I really want to hear about everyone's concerts.I don't care whether the program is a repeat or not, each concert is special, so tell us everything!
Hello everyone. I just wrote the names down of all who want the news!! I have all the email addresses of everyone so don't worry. Sometimes I feel a little guilty when I have four concerts to look forward to and some of you have none but I promise you will share in them through my words and through my heart. Shirley I will tell DJBob all of you say "hello".
I have heard also that the Chicago and Kansas concerts were not exactly the same so I may be surprised after all! That is okay because I know I will love everything that he does. Why the differences I don't know because Andre usually does each concert the same. Of the ones I have seen, only the name of the city changes! : )
I have been watching another beautiful event over the weekend - the Holy Father's visit and it has just outstanding. To hear and see the crowds and watch the Mass in Wash. D.C. and Yankee Stadium which is going on now is incredible. I would have loved tickets for this event but only the very fortunate get those tickets. Luckily we have the best seats in the house in front of our new 42" TV. The Pope's visit to Ground Zero was so moving, so quiet and had a reverence to it. Luckily we were able to see it before church and got back in time now to see the Mass.
Take care everyone and I will see you soon. I will throw a kiss to Andre for you after I throw mine.
Hugs to all
Aw gee...I wanted you to throw him my kiss first!
Well, I'd rather have a HUG!!
And Jeanine Ann, please don't "feel guilty". Go to as many as you can while you can. My first time of concerts I went to 5 in one week and 2 of them were at the same place, each on different nights. I thought it might be the chance of a lifetime and I didn't want to miss it. Back then I never dreamed he came here every, or almost every, year. So I say, go while you can.He may not be here next year, or maybe could be we won't.
I admit I had never heard of Andre Rieu before my 83 year old mother asked me to take her to his concert in Milwaukee on April 16th. I am a fan of most classical music and thought I might enjoy this. WOW! I was truly delighted. Once I got past seeing more wheelchairs, walkers and canes than I have ever seen in my life, the music swept me away. The selection was impressive. Everything from Mozart and Strauss to John Phillip Sousa and even a broadway song, Memories, from CATS! the tenors and soprano singers were breathtaking. I can understand why Andre is an international star with so much talent and charm. I enjoyed his humor joking how he has traveled around the world just thinking about how much he wanted to return to Milwaukee!.....Yeah right!! I would definitely go to another concert.
.......Even a spring chicken in their mid 40's like me!!
......Dana, newest fan from Wisconsin.
I think everyone that sees Andre the first time has the same overall impression. thanks for decloaking & saying something.
Your participation on this website will increase your enjoyment of anything Andre related. You'll be kept of everything known & rumored about Andre & the JSO.
Please stay in contact. Undoubtedly, you will be buying some of Andre's DVD <g>
Sorry for taking so long to comment to you Dana...but a very enthusiastic Welcome to you to this blog where we are all friends here!
Yes, once you've seen André, I mean, really "see" him with your heart and soul, then you will never be the same!
Please come back often and share your thoughts and experiences, and of course, share the delight in hearing and seeing André Rieu and the JSO!
Hi Dana, welcome.I'm glad you found out that an Andre Rieu concert "is not just your mother's(or father's) concert".I think all ages are enjoying him now, more than ever.
Hi Dana. I'm so happy that you have discovered André and his JSO. It's always fun for me to hear how someone newly discovers them. It's been a long time since I first found out about them, probably 10 years more or less. So I feel a sense of excitement reading/hearing about someone else first realizing what a great experience André and his JSO can be. They can be addictive ! Enjoy.
Hello Everyone! After months of waiting Andre Rieu week has finally arrived. I have to keep pinching myself to make sure I am not dreaming!
I feel like a child being taken to Disneyland for the first time with so many wonderful things to see and do. Not only to see Andre and the JSO again but to be able to meet Jeanine and Clyde and to do things together and to be able to meet someone I have talked to so many times on Fans and friends I feel like my head is in the clouds. My only wish is that I could be able to meet all the wonderful people also that I have come to know on Fans and friends. If I could take a magic wand and make it possible for all you beautiful People to be able to be with us at this upcoming concert I would!
God works in mysterious ways maybe some day I will. I am sure between Jeanine and myself we will have many thing to show and report about.
My wish is that everyone soon will be able to go a Andre Rieu concert again and become lost in his magic!
Wishing everyone my best and may God bless!
DJ Bob
God bless you too DJ Bob. Go ahead and have the time of your life. I hope your dreams come true just like Andre`'s. Please tell us all about it when you get back.
Angela
DJ Bob, I hope you have a very wonderful time. I know that you will!
One of the many things that André does for us is to give us a special moment in our lives that is purely fun, musical and happy and where we can meet new friends who share the same joyous moments with André Rieu.
"Lost in his magic"...I love that!
Take care and have a very wonderful time! Say hello to Florida for me while you are there.
Hi Jeanine Ann,
I would appreciate anything you report from Florida.
Thanks, Julie
Heelloo out there, it is so quiet on this web, I can hear my hair growing. I
know all our 'pals' are on the road to a
happy place in time. Like DJ Bob discribed it, as kids all excited as if going to DisneyWorld. So, as I sit here in total silence, I'm having an idenity
crisis and I need your help! One minute I'm concerned that the Pope has gone home, next I'm concerned that the voting
totals are not moving fast enough. I have a problem with the Middle East situation, Global Warming makes me too warm to sleep. Than I sit up in bed and think about the "ozone layer", and the Rain Forest problems, than I worry about who is taking care of all the kitties that are left home while their
mommie's and dad's are on the road to have one heck of a time; and the next minutes I can't decide between a large chocolate cream filled donut, home made sour cream cheese cake, or maybe a bag of Hershey Bliss/or Dove Chocolate wrapped up little evil temptations, and lastly fixing a bowl of Raspberry Ice Cream, maybe two bowls. See what I mean?
Better stick to my regular cup of no buttered popcorn. Umm, yummie. Well at least I gave you something to think about, now start making some noise. Love and hugs to all.
Judith, you're always good for a smile or laugh! You know what?, you just are thinking too much! I know it seems like everyone's gone now, but they're not, just quite! When the "captain of the ship" is in distress mode, the rest of us just flounder about! "unbuttered popcorn"? yikes! no fun there. I've just been busy watching my Andre tulips grow, and waiting for the concert reports. BTW, how fast is your hair growing now?
Hi (to anyone who hasn't gone away to a concert). Does everyone know about the Dutch website where you can vote for Andre` as 'person of the year'? It's all in Dutch but if you click on the tab on the right hand side, it converts to English. After clicking on 'vote' or 'stem' if unable to translate, it asks for your email address(only initially)and then sends you an email so you can click and confirm your vote. Andre` is at no. 4 currently but I'm sure we devotees can soon get him up to no.1. The site is (you may have to copy & paste it)http://www.persoonvanhetjaar.nl/
You can vote online once daily.
Hugs to all
Hi Angela, not all of us are gone to concerts(DARN)!
I have mixed feelings about the "popularity contests". I have voted some, but wonder really what difference it makes.
Andre doesn't need a contest to know how many fans he has. As for "person of the year", why would anyone vote for a dead person?
And what's the prize for the winner? I really think it's just a site that wants to see how many "hits" it can get,and with each "hit" someone profits, and it's not the nominee!
Now I'm not saying "don't vote", just giving my honest opinion, because I do sometimes vote just for fun. Maybe I should look at it that way.
I'd be interested to know anyone else's take on this.
I tend to agree with you Shirley. I too, have voted many times. I also tend to believe that many people are feeling the same way too.
It's interesting that there are so many fans of André out there in this big world, and he only gets an average of about 100 votes per day. Last year he was getting about 150 average per day.
I believe that all of us know in our heart and soul that André Rieu is #1.
I also feel with all my heart, that André KNOWS how much he means to us all.
I agree with Shirley, that if this were truly a site that was serious about who is "Person of the Year", they would not allow people who are dead, to be a nominee.
I show André every moment possible how much he means to me, by buying cd's/dvd's, attending concerts, telling everyone about him and the JSO, and enjoying his beautiful music in my everyday life.
All that said, I do vote periodically, when I have a moment in my life to do so. I will continue to vote. It is fun. We got André the #1 spot last year, but André Rieu will always be #1 with me, no matter what
the vote is!
have a great day.nicolejoy.
dear friends, My grand daughter in law Cassia gave birth to a 7# baby boy Apr21, Both are doing fine, & they will come home on Wednesday. We have had close to blizzard conditions since Sat,
so we have more than 20 inches of snow on the ground. When it melts it will be a mess. I've been housebound since thur. but will have to venture out to-day for a few things. It did snow most of yesterday, but this morning the sun is shining. Worst thing about this storm is the steady north wind & that makes it a wind chill about minus 20 Brr. Received my wonderland dvd, plus a bonus cd, which has songs from other cds & is quite nice & listenable. My collection is growing slowly but I already have eight cds, plus eight dvds
so I have a variety of music to choose from. Hope everyone is well love to all
Marianne
Hi Marianne. It's been a long time since I lived in snow country (Northern Calif), but it didn't get quite so cold as what you have in Canada. Now, living in the Willamette Valley, we don't usually get much snow to speak of, just a few inches now and then. It seems we have gotten more cold weather this winter, tho. I admire your positive spirit. Being so housebound takes some doing. It sounds like you don't have a problem with losing power, which can be a major thing. Losing power was something that we always had to think about. My father eventually bought his own generator for emergencies.
I'm glad you got a new DVD and CD. Have you gotten "Live in Vienna"? That is a fabulous concert, and seems to be the favorite DVD of many.
Have a great day.
Hi Shirley
Thankyou for your honest response on the popularity contest. You're right of course. I have asked as many people as I could to vote but the voting numbers don't seem to climb very much at all. Andre` will always be #1 with us and that's what really counts. Have a musical day.
Angela, you know that not all the fans are voting, no matter what the reason. Taking into account the number of fans he has, if everyone voted he'd blow those other guys out of the water! An article I read, "Pollstar, the international newsweekly of the music industry, and one of the concert industry’s leading publications, released a report on ticket sales for the first half of 2007. André Rieu is ranked No. 9 for best ticket sales worldwide". Now doesn't that kind of give an idea about his popularity? And look at Australia, they, alone, could put Andre way over the top, in any contest. so, really, whether we vote or not doesn't really matter.(but of course, it's still fun. haha)Angela, I love your name. Keep a song in your heart.
Shirley, thank you for the compliment. You're right again. I am in Australia, and had asked all my Andre` fan friends to vote. I guess I just can't stand to see him anywhere else but no.1 where he deservedly belongs. It certainly is fun though. As the song goes...'when you're smiling'.
Hugs from down under to everyone
my dear mariann peters - "Congratulations" on becoming the happy
new (would that make you a great-great
grammie?) if so, how wonderful on the arrival of a little baby boy. Have they chosen any name yet? You musy be on cloud 9, having an addition of a healthy
brand new bundle of love and joy. I just
love when family have little angels given to us from Our Lord. May you have
many hours of smiles and love when holding the precious addition. Please let us know how things are going, and thanks for sharing your wonderful news of a new baby being born. Hugs to all your family.
For Judith - I did respond to your email. Did you receive it?? I can get my email while traveling if you want to respond. Thanks much sweetie. Hugs
Hi Shirley and our new Fan Friend Angela
I never thought of that voting business
in such lights. But it sure does make a
lot of real sense. But as you all know how addicted I have become with Andre, I
would consider that a mortal sin if I did not vote every day, and in that case, I would be in confession everyday,
the priest would probally tell me just stay home and vote and stop wasting his time. You realize I say all this in jest
but it helps me with therapy 101 which coincides with basket weaving 103. Guess I am just one of those people that will never grow up, and go for the gusto and have become the Official Andre
Primary Voting Election Officer, so as the time approaches for my regularly time to cast my "stem", I will leave you all with hugs, smiles, and again a very big Welcome to Angela. I have a joke, but perhaps I'll leave that for later. Concert Day 22nd - 27th, me thinks. Good wishes to all those lucky ticket holders (Willy Wonka winners)
going to be in the presense of Andre and
the JSO. Tomorrow I will be in the presense of my dentist, wanna beat that?
OK, I'm going already. xoxoxox :}
Hi Judith
Many thanks for the warm welcome and happy to see you're in the Andre` electorate as well
xoxo
This is probably the last chance I have to offer two tickets for the Tampa Florida concert on April 26.
Please let me know if you are interested. Floor seats, row 19.

Time again to give myself a damn good pinch to make sure I am awake and not just dreaming.
I have just heard that Helmut Lotti will be making a Promotional Tour of Australia (most likely in July. Can you believe it - Andre and Helmut, both in Australia in the same year. Helmut is coming to promote the release in Australia of his Blue and Castle series collection DVD. Ovation Channel here is currently airing his Red Album. I believe his people are sussing us out for a Tour by Helmut in the second half of 2009. Andre and Helmut have both made huge impacts on the Aussie music scene in recent times. And Andre's balloon is about to fly much much higher with the publicity surrounding his next visit in 2 weeks time. Truly blessed are we.
Hubba Hubba: Helmut Lotti
I enjoy his singing. This is a Good -- Double Wammy!
Andre Rieu Fans!

*From our friends at Universal Music.............
Hi Sally,
A special gift for all Australians from André Rieu! His new album 'Waltzing Matilda' will be released on April 26th.
Together with Brisbane soprano Mirusia, who now lives in Holland and is part of André’s entourage, his next release is an album called Waltzing Matilda. Given his deep and abiding love for Australia coupled with the fact that he is the undisputed modern “King of the Waltz”, this is a perfect offering. The album includes half a dozen Australian songs, sumptuously arranged for voice (Mirusia), solo violin (André), orchestra and choir – Botany Bay, Waltzing Matilda, I Still Call Australia Home, Home Among The Gum Trees, Tie Me Kangaroo Down... André will be including these tracks on not only the Australian leg of his tour but also in concerts he is giving worldwide and they will form part of a DVD to be released in time with the tour.
André Rieu is coming to Australia!
Come and meet André at a special event and get your copy of Waltzing Matilda signed! Andre will be visiting both Sydney and Brisbane this May, here are the details:
NSW
Where: Ticketek @ Park, Cnr Park and Castlereagh Streets, Sydney
When: Saturday May 10th, 10:30am
QLD
Where: Queen St Mall, Brisbane
When: Friday May 9th, 2pm
Pre-order 'Waltzing Matilda' now –
Sally, welcome back, I'm glad to see your name popping up here & there. We've really, really missed you! Marianne,I meant to congratulate you on your new grandbaby too.Have they named him yet? Hope you get better weather soon. We're still getting an overabundance of rain, which we'll probably be praying for in July &August. Grayeme, you certainly are fortunate to have both Andre & Helmut touring your country. And Judith, I'll be waiting for that joke you promised.
My wife, Maria and I had the pleasure of having lunch with Clyde and Jeanine Ann in St Augustine today to get to know each other the day before Andre's concert tomorrow in Jacksonville.
I made a very short photo show of our time together:
http://www.photoshow.com/members/_7132abfa4cec9bf/all/xd7Jx8by
All my best to everyone and we will be reporting to you soon about the concert.
All my best to everyone and may God Bless!
DJ Bob
Hi everyone, I am back and then I am going to bed. We are tired, tired, tired. What a great day though. Bob I am going to your photoshow once I am finished here. We had a great time with Bob and Maria. What a wonderful, sweet couple they are! Isn't it just fantastic that we have this benefit of meeting such great friends at Andre's concerts!!! We are going to "Wonderland" tomorrow night together and we are going to have a ball. Dinner with our friends (and hopefully come JSO members) and then the concert. It doesn't get any more exciting than this!! Our seats are fantastic so between Bob and I we should get some great shots. I hope Andre walks down our aisle. I think he will but not sure. I must prepare myself for that. I don't know whether just to look at him or try to get a good photo. I guess I had better calm down so that I can get a good nights sleep.
Hi Sally. So good to see you pop in now and then!! How are you doing?
Okay, more after the concert. Hugs to all
PS: Shirley, the cloud after the concert will be higher than the cloud bed
As you look at the stage, from the back row of seats, if there are 2 isles, Andre usually walks down the isle on the left side.
Even if Andre doesn't walk down your isle, you'll still see 1/2 the orchestra up close & personal. As the JSO members are walking by, call out to several of them by their first name......I guarantee they will look at you & smile as then walk by.
Here is the most recent article regarding Andre & Australia...24 April 2008
Thank you Bill! Here is the most recent photo of the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Stadium taken about 1/2 hour ago!!
I hope Sally will forgive the size of these photos but they are fresh off the card. Tonights the night!!!!! Hugs to all
Nothing to forgive. Very nice photos!
I love the tile work behind the seats. I bet y'all had a great time.
I, for one, am eagerly anticipating a link to your concert photo show & a detailed report <g>
mr bill, thanks for the article, always eager to see all those wonderful words. little does jeanine ann know, but i am the one hiding out by the cash register. i plan on tailing them as they leave to go see Andre; i'm gonna mingle close by, and stay soo close, then i am gonna run/jump/slither through
those tuff turn styles. yea-right. i need some one to bail me out of jail if i even try that stunt. by the way, i just remember'ed i can't jump that high anymore. dreamer, judith is such a dreamer. good try. smiles to all, and yes, i am sitting in front of this screen all nite, hope we get the music plug in....
HERE IT IS hot off the press: My photo Show of our night in wonderland at Andre's concert in Jacksonville, April 25th 2008:

All my love to everyone and may God bless!!
DJ (Lost in the magic of Andre & JSO) Bob
Great photos Bob. Thanks for sharing.
What kind of camera do you use and where were you sitting??
Dear Margaret, I use just a simple Kodak digtial camera, and we had front row seats. There were 16 people in our group.
All my best
DJ Bob
Hi DJ, must be some problem with my PC or I am not doing something right, I get to your page and can not get to see the pics, any suggestions on what this ditzy person is doing wrong. Heard you all had a wonderful time. I tried to get the reviews from the Jacksonville Times Union, Andre was on their site yesterday, but could not find a review for him today. Oh well. Modern tech.
Thanks for thinking about us, I'll just have to try and imagine what you all enjoyed. Smiles & hugs to all.
Dear Judith, I am not sure what your problem could be? ( Have you seen any of the other photo shows I have posted?)
Try this site again ( It should start by itself)
again:http://www.photoshow.com/watch/dG2Zm2kQ
I gave all my photos on a CD to Jeanine Ann and she will be posting them to this site soon.
All my best
DJ Bob
Hi Judith I found that I had to wait a few minutes for the photos to load, But the wait was worth it. Hope this helps.
Thanks DJ Bob. I hope I can get photos half as good as yours. We will be in the 5th row in Melbourne and a little further back in Sydney.
Nice as you are Margaret, I know fate (and ANDRE) is going to smile upon you.
Wonderful pictures! Great close-ups !
Thank you so much. It must have be an
unforgetable evening.
Thank you for sharing these with us DJ Bob! They're fantastic pictures...I especially like the last closeup of André. Looks like he was posing for you! May 24th can't get here soon enough for me!!
Dear Kay, I think he was posing because just after I took the picture he gave me a little wink!
DJ Bob
It is 8.00pm our seats in Tampa are empty. We are here in Cocoa and our thoughts are with you. If any one can send me a copy of the program I would appreciate it.
Enjoy every minute.....
Wendy

Howdy fans, I'm back again with a short little joke to make some noise on this web, too quite as our Concert goers are busily writing their reviews, so here goes, this one's for you Shirley. TITLED
* HOLY FAMILY IN A PLANE *
A Sunday school teacher asked her students to draw a picture of Jesus' family. After collecting the drawings, she noticed that one little boy's drawing depicted an airplane with four heads sticking out of the windows. "I see you drew three heads to show Joseph, Mary and Jesus," she said to the boy. "But who does the fourth head
belong to?".....Well, the boy replied,
"That's Pontius the piolt." @:-}
is all that new silence asking me not to
write anymore till tomorrow ?? :-#
One thing I forgot to mention, Jeanine Ann and I were standing next to each other when Andre and the JSO came down to the stage at the beginning of the concert and we both got high fives from Andre. I kidded with Jeanine Ann later that I would never wash my right hand again. I hope everyone gets that chance someday soon!
All my best and God bless.
DJ Bob
Hi DJBob and everyone!! Oh my gosh - I am so excited that I just don't know what to say!!! When Andre touched my hand I thought I was going to fall over. I didn't know what to do with my hand except to give it a big kiss. I guess I am really crazy now. I finally had to wash it though but I just hated to do it. Oh what a time we had. Front row seats almost directly in front of Andre thanks to my dear friend DJ. We are so very grateful to him and tomorrow I will tell you more about the beautiful concert and how we danced and laughed and took photos and danced for Andre and how we were dancing right in front of him and when he stops the music for a few seconds I looked up at him and for 5 seconds he looked right into my eyes and then gave that smile like he does and I did the same!! Then I stumbled over my feet and went on dancing. Oh what eye contact that was! This was on a par with Reading except for the fact that we had our good friends there with us. DJ and his lovely sweet wife and friends and my wonderful friend Ruth Morgan were all with us. We had a ball. I will tell you more tomorrow and will send some photos along. I am exhausted right now from our long drive from DJBob's beautiful home to Ft. Lauderdale. I will list the songs for those of you who want to know them and will right a concert report with all the photos - all 250 of them. Some might be a little blurred but I will send them all. I am on cloud 9 right now and never want to come down and tomorrow night we do it all over again. We won't have Bob and his wife Maria which is sad but we have row 6 in the center so that will be good hopefully for more photos. Oh I must say that Andre gets more handsome every time I see him and he must stop that because my heart will not take it.
So my dear friends I will see you tomorrow with a report. Hugs to all thank you and God bless you DJBob.
I'm eagerly anticipating your entire concert report. can't wait to see all the photos. Soooo, Andre kissed your hand.......lucky, lucky you!
When you do write your report, won't you please add it to the April concert topic. I think that is where most of us go to hear & see all about the April Concerts.
JEANINE ANN, I AM JUST SO HAPPY FOR YOU!
I am excited for both of you. It was really nice of you Bob to share your ability for tickets there and I know everyone was pleased. I'm pleased and I wasn't even there! Ha. But reading your stories, seeing the photos … ahhh … it is the next best thing. Thanks to you both for sharing
Jeanine Ann, i am all totally "semi"
unconscience with the very thought that
Andre high fived you. I would have found
a sandwich bag, put my hand in there and immediately after the Concert I would locate the nearest CSI office, and
begged/demanded they take prints of my hand like they do on the idiot box, than
I would have them BLOW up that hand-print, run to Walgreen's get a frame and put that print in there. BUT, before all that I would have the medical team put some type of preserver on my hand, and again demand they put it in a comfortable cast to allow for swelling and I would wear that as my
badge of Andre "honor", till that thing
decentegrades(?), when I finally meet you and DJ, I will humbly take your hands one at a time, and kiss it as a token of the greatness you were both
highly in his audience. Sending dreams of meeting you both and sending "Happy Smiles To Everyone." Help !!!, a strange
man in a white jacket with the name on
his uniform says "PSYCHIATRIST", says he is taking me to see Andre. Oh my gosh
what have I done? tee-hee (that is how bad it is getting).
Hello all you beautiful people. After Jeanine Ann and I received high fives from beloved Andre at the beginning of the concert I told Jeanine Ann that before I ever washed that hand again I would take a picture of my hand before I would wash that hand again. WELL (crazy me) I did it! Go to my web page at the following to see for yourself ( Also on the same page is a photo of Andre just as he was smiling at me.)
Life is short, let us live, love and share one of the most beautiful things we all have to give: Ourselves!
All my best and may God Bless all of you!
DJ(hooked on Andre) Bob
DJBob. I am so impressed. It will no doubt be given a place of honor in your home. Of course, I am very jealous, but glad you had such a terrific time.
Marilyn S.
Robert, I had to smile. So that is the hand, that touched the hand, that touches the bow, that touches the strings of that beautiful violin? Good for you & Jeanine Ann.
Shirley, You are quiet the poet and your message does show IT!
Take care and all my best,
DJ(Hooked on poetry of Andre) Bob
dear DJ Bob
I have to 'hand it to you' !!
are you going to Maastricht ?
if so, I wanna shake your hand, and hope that a 'a little bit of Andre' rubs off on me !
dear Adele, As of today its not in our plans to go to Massatricht, but who knows plans do change. I will be seeing Andre before that thou. You will be the first to know we have tickets to go to his concert on May 25th in Atlantic City along with a friend who lives in Maryland. We are going up to the Washington DC area for 2 to 3 weeks next month and added another Andre concert to our plans. The tickets are not as good as we had in Jacksonville but to be same room with Andre and the JSO is just fine with me!!
P.S.: Jeanine Ann will be at that concert also so we will meet again.
All my best
DJ Bob
So, maybe DJ Bob can make some copies of that now infamous hand and send it to everyone...then we could always see the "hand that touched the hand, that touches the bow, that touches the strings of that beautiful violin"...that makes the beautiful music we all love to listen to!
Hi Marlene, I know Bob will make a copy of that hand and so will I. I just wish I did not need to wash it but I had to do that. That was tough. But the beautiful memory can never be washed away! Talk to you soon. We will be home Friday.
Did I mention that DJBob is a great guy. Clyde and I just love him. His wife is so sweet and kind to us. Hugs
Yeah...that would have been hard for me too...to wash a hand that André had touched.
However, that moment he touched your hand, will always be with you.
Have a great trip back Jeanine Ann!
DJ Bob and his wife seem like very nice people indeed!
I sure hope someone puts some name to the faces in the photos <g>
Dear Marlene Warren: I have already done that just go to my web page at:
http://www.djbobphotos.com/id45.html
You can save the picture from there to your computer. You can then have a copy of the hand that touched the hand etc. etc.
My best to everyone
DJ Bob
It is understood that Andre will be making a personal appearance in the Queen Street Mall Brisbane Qld on 9th May,2008 is this going to happen
Thank you Judy

Hello all,
We are still upset about being unable to attend the concert at Tampa on Saturday, oh well, at 8.00 pm, I did shed a few tears thinking of you all.
So I am requesting again, and I hope it is not too much to ask if some-one could please let me know what we missed.
I would love to know what the program was. Please can some-one do this for me, at least I can then feel I was a small part even though our seats were empty.
I hope you have wonderful memories.
