Concerts

Annually the Staar gives about 20 concerts at home and abroad in the form of an all-evening performance. Its repertoire is versatile and covers almost all styles of music. Thanks to its extensive archives the Staar can choose from more than 3,000 works of music. Among these are religious, classical, modern works, opera, musicals, waltzes and pop music. The repertoire is renewed by adding modern works especially adapted for the Staar. In more recent years the Staar has been on tour to the theatres with theme concerts. The Verdi concerts and the from Bach to Beatles concerts were visited by tens of thousands of listeners. In the 2008-2009 season the Staar will be giving anniversary concerts.

The Koninklijke Zangvereniging Mastreechter Staar has a rich history. In 2008 the society has been in existence for 125 years. This will be celebrated in a grand way. In 2008 a number of performances have been planned in collaboration with the Limburg Symfonie Orkest, who themselves are celebrating their jubilee. Besides three New Year concerts and two mega-concerts in Limburg, two gala-concerts are planned. In the autumn of 2007 the Staar will be on tour with the programme: Mastreechter Staar 125 years.
This is also the title of a CD which will be put on the market. Before long the live CD from Bach to Beatles will appear. More new CDs will follow, rendering a cross section of the complete work of the Staar.

Mastreechter Staar was invited to perform at the inauguration of Queen Beatrice. They have performed in the Notre Dame Cathedral, The Royal Albert Hall, Amsterdam Concert Hall, Radio & Television, and the Opera House in Vancouver. They staar is proud to have no less than 8 Golden Discs.   And now, they have been invited to perform with André Rieu at his 2008 Vrijthof Concerts!
