Hi Elly, you are right. I think it could snow, sleet or hail and everyone would have a wonderful time at André's concert. I remember the DVD of the Berlin show and it was rainy and cold and people were laughing and moving with the music and having a great time. I am so happy that all the Aussies had such a wonderful time. They waited a long time and they were certainly ready. Now they have another chance next year along with New Zealand. I know we here in the United States look forward to our springtime concerts depending on where we live it may be April, May or June. André gives so much of himself and he is always expanding to other countries so all fans get a chance to see and hear him live. I hope this will continue for a long time for all his fans. Hugs to all

Hi Marguerite, yes the Dresden concert is beautiful. As far as I know André does not wear contacts at all because he says he cannot get them in. He wears glasses for reading I believe. His eyes are a beautiful blue. I guess it depends on the photograph and the lighting.
That is good Marguerite to share as much as you can about André with friends and relatives. He needs more publicity in the United States. I think Universal Music does a great job at that in Australia and other countries. I think that is where Denon is lacking. Thanks for posting. Hugs to you.

First of all Bob has terrible pain in his hip and leg from disc problems. Evidently they cannot fix it because they are sending him to pain management. But the worst thing is that their son Tommy who had stage 4 cancer a little over a year ago has had a recurrence and has a tumor growing from his chin to the brain area that is so wound around all the nerves that to remove it would mean massive collateral damage like loss of some of his face and tongue and probably loss of sensation in his upper extremities. So Tommy has opted to do nothing (I lost my bold type and cannot get it back) no treatments or anything. I feel so sorry for them. Tommy's pastor has been helping him a lot. He does a lot of work at the church so I am so glad he has support there. Please remember them in your prayers. I believe Bob can get epidurals so that gives him temporary relief. They have gone through so much lately. December 14 is the one year anniversary of their granddaughter's death (she was 24) so that will be a hard day for them. So they certainly do need prayers. This is so neat. I was shopping in a Walmart tonight and I went into the electronics dept. What should I find up Andre Rieu's DVDs Romantic Moments, Vienna Night and a 3 DVD set of Dublin, New York and Vienna! I bought them for relatives.

About the André Calendar...I LOVE IT! It's got mostly André's pictures, which of course, is fine with me! There are a few wonderful pictures of Mirusia, Carmen and the JSO too. I love the quality of the calendar too. I will be very happy to see this all year long.
I'm waiting for the Melbourne dvd. I'm behind in ordering...just have to take it one step at a time. My next purchase will be the Maastricht concert, then the Dresden, hopefully by then, I will still be able to get the cd of it too.

She has chronic renal failure but we are keeping her together with a new medicine called Azodyl which she must take twice a day for the rest of her sweet life. Would love to see your cat Clayton. So when tickets went on sale for Andre's concert next year I made sure I got a good seat!!! I really want to have a better view of Andre and the JSO. Even though Andre came to Australia last year (he went to Sydney and Melbourne only) on a promotional tour, the first time I discovered Andre was when he performed on "Dancing With the Stars". Since that time, he has changed my life!!!!!!!!!! When Princess Diana was alive, I collected every story/magazine/book that was written about her. Since she died, noone captivated my interest and imagination, but then I discovered Andre! Now I have an emormous interest, enthusiasm and admiration for Andre. I have to listen to Andre every day!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again for the warm welcome and I love reading all your comments. Happy Christmas!!

Same thing that happened with the other item last year. I am glad I had them send another one because obviously this is not usable and the violin necklace is gone, I guess it melted in the fire. You all know the value of the necklace and brooch so they are out one necklace and I am going to return the entire order as I received it. I am still wondering where the fire was! So I will not have my gift for Christmas but hopefully the second order will arrive shortly thereafter. I must now email the helpdesk and I don't know how to explain this one! Hugs to all

Hi Elly, you are right. I think it could snow, sleet or hail and everyone would have a wonderful time at André's concert. I remember the DVD of the Berlin show and it was rainy and cold and people were laughing and moving with the music and having a great time. I am so happy that all the Aussies had such a wonderful time. They waited a long time and they were certainly ready. Now they have another chance next year along with New Zealand. I know we here in the United States look forward to our springtime concerts depending on where we live it may be April, May or June. André gives so much of himself and he is always expanding to other countries so all fans get a chance to see and hear him live. I hope this will continue for a long time for all his fans. Hugs to all

Good Morning all. Today is the day!!! Thought it would never arrive. After 2 glorious Brisbane days, today has dawned perfect, it is going to be 88f and they have forecast a possible late storm tonight and tomorrow night, but I don't think they will eventuate.
We will be leaving home within the hour to go to the city, our hotel apartment is very close to the hotel Andre and JSO are staying at. Today we are meeting up for lunch after which we will only have a couple of hours to get ready and head to Suncorp to be there by 5pm to soak up some pre-concert atmosphere. Tomorrow will be a full day of JSO spotting (I hope) with time out for a lucheon river cruise on our beautiful river. Then off to Andre's final Aussie concert tomorrow night. So looking forward to it all now. Will be "off air" until I get back home Friday afternoon and will file my report. It is a funny feeling at the moment, I think I need to see the city or Suncorp, or something to make this all kick in, have waited near 10 years for this day, thats a long time on one dream. Berinda,I think Andre probably plays just the music as it was intended, without the lyrics. But I read that the first lyrics were not very fitting & they were written by Josef Weyl, I like the later lyrics by a Franz von Gernerth. They seem more fitting to that beautiful music. those are the only two versions I know of.
I just saw on utube Andre playing the Cinderella Waltz, then he danced with a girl. Is this on a DVD & if so what is the name of the DVD. Thanks, Marguerite
Marguerite, most of the you tube videos by that person, Fritz, is usually done on the ZDF, a German television station.So as far as I know, it's not on any dvd, at least not yet.
Her name is Simone. She is an avid Andre fan and you catch glimpses of her and her husband in the audience on many of the DVDs. The TV show people arranged secretly with her husband and Andre that the husband would bring her to TV show and that Andre would ask her to dance. I don't remember all the details but that's the basic story. I wasn't in Maastricht last year but I know a lot of fans met her at that time.

Thanks & anxiously awaiting the DVD from Australia. Loved "Dancing through the skies" & the Semper Opera is a beautiful place. I liked that he listed the JSO members in the program that was included with the DVD & CD.
Do you know if Andre wears contact lenses for his concerts? Sometimes he has the most beautiful blue eyes like his blue tuxedo/tails,(maybe blue contacts) then again his eyes look light brown, whatever the color his eyes always has so much expression. Since I found him on youtube, (you can teach old people, new things) I have shared many of them with friends to get more recognition for him in the USA. Now we need to teach the USA people to be on time and seated when the "Maestro" begins. Kind Regards, Marguerite
Hi Marguerite, yes the Dresden concert is beautiful. As far as I know André does not wear contacts at all because he says he cannot get them in. He wears glasses for reading I believe. His eyes are a beautiful blue. I guess it depends on the photograph and the lighting.
That is good Marguerite to share as much as you can about André with friends and relatives. He needs more publicity in the United States. I think Universal Music does a great job at that in Australia and other countries. I think that is where Denon is lacking. Thanks for posting. Hugs to you.

It's evening, but this will brighten it too.
This tape is similar to the one I sent you, Sally, he even wears the same suit, I must say the interviewer is better than the one PBS sent, but he also says a lot of the same things, only on the other tape are my minis, haaaaaaaaa! His age for his first concert gets younger, I have heard this with 5 years, 4 years and now he asked his mother and it is 3 years. I often wondered if his mother is still alive, in the book from Marjorie she is only mentioned to call André for practice, but no picture of her, or anything else. Where she puts in the hole rest of his family and her own plus Susan her friend, but not André´s mother, odd!
I wonder if she is even more private than Marjorie.
There was a picture somewhere, I thought in the book but maybe not, with several of the children around the table. Someone asked him once in an interview what his mother thought of something and his response was, "You will have to ask her." So I assume she is alive.
I loved it and heard Andre say this was the home of D'Artagnan who ate his last breakfast there in Andre's kitchen (the reporter had no clue of who D'Artagnan was) He was the Captain of the Musketeers.I went on the net and looked up D'artagnan and there is a statue of him in Maastricht and he died there at the seige of Maastricht in the Franco-Dutch war. He was not one of the movie "Three Musketeers" A novel which was written by Alexandre Dumas. So thanks for putting this up for that bit of info I had not heard about Andre's castle.

As you know Clyde has his treatments every day at the hospital and on weekends and holidays we go to the Rehab center. Well for two weekends I have been sitting there looking at a keyboard and a book of music called "Take Me Out To The Ballgame". I figured it would not have anything I would want but today I picked it up and paged through it. I have been looking all over for two songs by Franz Lehar "The Merry Widow" and "Song of Vila" and would you believe it, there they were! I was told they were out of print and could not be ordered. I asked the nurse if she would be kind enough to copy both songs for me and she of course was very happy to do that. Sometimes when you least expect to find something it can be there right in front of you. I am glad I looked at the book. Hugs to all

Helen,try looking for "OHNE SORGEN" in you tube, it's on one of those. Marlene did a review once about the cd & dvd of Love Around the World and this was on that dvd. I would imagine the riding took place in Holland.

I remember long ago when I was just a little girl, I was home and it was snowing outside. My mother thought it was too cold for us to go out and play, so we had to stay indoors. She bundled up and went outside and the snow was falling and I watched her stand there and allow the snow to fall on her shoulders. It was a dry snow, not the heavy, wet kind, and when the snow hit my mother's shoulders most of it bounced off. In a few minutes she came to us standing there at the door and showed us some of the snowflakes...each and every one of them was different. I thought that was so amazing. To have all this beautiful white snow falling, and not one of them were alike.

Thank you all for the lovely compliments about my writing from the heart. Yes it has been a while since I have been on the site. From August to now, I have been taking care of some work and have been placing my energies in other genres. Sometimes I am required to put matters of the heart on the back burner and use my matters of the mind, which I am not allowed to discuss here. I will for now, however, I have time to create a story each month for all who wish to read.
Getting to Andre and his wonderful performances in Australia. Isn't he just doing great. I am so glad his dreams are all coming true. His enire family, both biological and musical (and that includes his fans!) must all be so proud of this great musical endeavour.
God Bless The Moon is a song and God bless Andre for giving all his heart to the world.
God also bless the three Canadian Soldiers who recently passed away, as well as their families and friends. God also bless men and women from other countries who are fighting the war overseas. May they be home soon. God bless their Yuletime time away from home. I know so many have died from the U.S. and it is very saddening. Bless them all and their families.

Hi everyone, just wanted to say that I hope everyone had a great day. Busy day today but I finally finished my Christmas shopping although I have no decorations up outside. It has been so cold here. I do have the inside almost finished but this is an unusual year with Clyde's antibiotic treatments and going to the hospital every day until January 13th but as long as the meds work that is all that matters. We can hope that the winter goes by quickly and then it will be time for the spring tour! That is always something to look forward to. Hugs to all
Jeanine Ann, give Clyde a friendly hug from me. I know he will be much better once these antibiotics really kick in. He's already had a rough road of it & so have you. We haven't done much decorating here, just got the tree up this weekend, first time in all these years I had to take all the darn lights off three times, first it was the wrong end for the plug in,took them all off, started again, middle set of lights didn't work, took the all off again, started with new set of lights, (we're talking 450 lights here), finally!! Eureka!That took me most of one day, next day it's all the ornaments, today finished up with a few odds & ends.Next year, a table tree!!! Gettin' too old for this nonsense! We got a little snow & rain today, much colder too, but nothing like Kati. I'm ready for Spring already & it's really not even Winter yet. Did you know there's a full moon coming up on the 12th? BTW Jeanine Ann, did you notice that on Andre's web site he says "big hugs to all", speaking to the aussies of course, but hey, have you been coaching him? haha
I didn't realize that Clyde had to go to the hospital every day! You've done well to get shopping done. Mine is done also. I am not organized this year but shopping is done. I have only a small tree in the house this year because of new cat, Johann Strauss, who not only knocked it over but distributed every single ornament all over the house. He went to the vet yesterday for booster shots and was pronounced healthy. He is seven months old. Will get some new pictures soon.
Anyway, best to both of you. Do the powers that be know what caused the infection in the first place?
Hi Virginia, thanks so much for asking about Clyde. Yes he must go every day but we both see so many people who are far worse off and we feel blessed. No matter what the outcome of the treatments, there are still a lot of nice people there who are going through chemo and sometimes that does not work but sometimes it does and now we have a whole new group of friends to pray for.
I see that Johann Strauss has been a little naughty : ) Cannot wait to see his photos. It is so nice of you to take him in. I know he has a wonderful home. By the way the item I have for you will be in the mail tomorrow, certified so you will need to sign for it. I didn't forget but getting to the Post Office which is only open certain times of the day is very hard. They don't have regular hours so we try to time it after Clyde's treatment. Virginia, Joey reminds me of my Dewey. I once had to setup the Christmas tree inside a playpen to keep Dewey away from it. He thought all the ornaments were balls to be rolled all over the house.
I think Joey is celebrating his new loving home. He knows it's the best present he ever received.
The vet said that he is a full Maine coon cat. I thought he had some in him but if he's a full coon better get some good hairbrushes. He already has mats under his chin. He let's me brush his back but not the front (yet). He leaps from the backs of chairs onto the backs of the other cats which doesn't make him too popular. I sent a picture to Jeanine which hopefully she will post. I had sent it earlier but typed the address wrong so just sent it again. He's going to be a handful but he's sweet. I dumped a pile of clean laundry to be sorted into the chair and just saw my bra go racing across the floor.

Yes we are expecting a storm also. Supposedly getting 2 inches of ice. Although I am right on the water so sometimes we don't get hit as hard as inland a little. We don't lose power all that often but my sister who is about 20 minutes from here loses it all the time. I am going to follow your example and go take a bath just in case.
I keep you and Clyde in my thoughts and prayers. I know this is wearing on both of you, but it is also well worth it, as Clyde WILL get better.
Thank you Sally, I know he will get better too. I am also praying for those who will not get better and there are many of them. You remember our friends Bob and Judy. First of all Bob has terrible pain in his hip and leg from disc problems. Evidently they cannot fix it because they are sending him to pain management. But the worst thing is that their son Tommy who had stage 4 cancer a little over a year ago has had a recurrence and has a tumor growing from his chin to the brain area that is so wound around all the nerves that to remove it would mean massive collateral damage like loss of some of his face and tongue and probably loss of sensation in his upper extremities. So Tommy has opted to do nothing (I lost my bold type and cannot get it back) no treatments or anything. I feel so sorry for them. Tommy's pastor has been helping him a lot. He does a lot of work at the church so I am so glad he has support there. Please remember them in your prayers. I believe Bob can get epidurals so that gives him temporary relief. They have gone through so much lately. December 14 is the one year anniversary of their granddaughter's death (she was 24) so that will be a hard day for them. So they certainly do need prayers. The new DVD "Live in Australia" is out and it is fantastic. I brought it yesterday in the Netherlands and have now watched it twice. I just can not get enough of it. I am so happy for all the Australians that they have now finally had the chance to see Andre and his JSO live. A real treat and what also makes me happy is the fact that so many people are placing comments on internet. Andre and his music are creating a worldwide feeling of friendliness and togetherness. Carreras had the blood cancer 20 years ago, and now fights to help find a cure.

About the André Calendar...I LOVE IT!
It's got mostly André's pictures, which of course, is fine with me! There are a few wonderful pictures of Mirusia, Carmen and the JSO too. I love the quality of the calendar too. I will be very happy to see this all year long.
I'm waiting for the Melbourne dvd. I'm behind in ordering...just have to take it one step at a time. My next purchase will be the Maastricht concert, then the Dresden, hopefully by then, I will still be able to get the cd of it too.

Virginia, he looks like my Princesse. I cured my 5 cats from demolishing the tree. I took my water spritzer and showed it to them how it works and put it as guardian under the tree, they stayed away, now I have only 2 cats left, one is l9 and the other almost 12, she was still tempted, but she makes a big bow around the water sprayer, haaaaaaaaa. I won, but my cats have ruined me a lot of glass ornaments before I got that idea.

In one song to be sung by the blond Aussie soprano Mariska?, a fine lady in the audience was singled out by a camera in a close up of her joy, that Mariska was to sing a popular number from Phantom of the Opera. She clasped her hands and through the song she mouthed every word! It was if she was willing Marisca to get it right! and finished with tears of joy!
One wonders how the cameraman knew that this lady was so involved? No doubt Jeanine you will see this when the you get the DVD. However I could send as before, a couple of photos.
Also there was a comic scene when Suzan Aeron's microphone failed and she sheepishly told Andre that it was concealed in her volumous skirt. Hi David, I sent the photos to Sally because of the size. I went to put them on and when I enlarged them and looked at the properties I saw they were way too big for the blog so Sally is much better at resizing than I am. I can do simple resizing. I am wondering also if someone knows who she is. She is very pretty.
Oh yes I am a big cat lover, I have a calico and a long hair all white kitty. Their names are Patches and Cotton, I am sure you can guess which name goes with which cat. We have one little kitten outside who was born this summer named Micetro and he or she still comes every day to eat and drink. We started out with the mom and 6 kittens plus one other that may or may not have been hers so at that time we were feeding 10 kitties including our two. Now they all wondered off except for Micetro. I had everyone named. Still don't know what to do with her because I don't think our Cotton would approve of another kitten although Patches was a kitten when we got her but Cotton was not sick then. She has chronic renal failure but we are keeping her together with a new medicine called Azodyl which she must take twice a day for the rest of her sweet life.

OMG Shirley, you are right! Those photos are great. Here I sit ooh and aahhing at those closeups! You know me, I cannot get enough of photos of Andre. I wonder how many I have now! You see it all, don't you Shirley. That photo of Andre with red eyes really does say it all. That photo is taken at the end of "Waltzing Matilda". When Andre started that number he was visibly taken aback by the response of the audience when they burst into singing. As I said in my report, the whole night was filled with very emotional moments. I would loved to have caught a photo of Marcel Felize after Bolero, that was a moment. I think Andre may have filed himself a little note "Future DvD in Brisbane"

ho ho ho, life with a kitty! haha. My Jazz got into a little trouble herself yesterday.She was doing her "5 o'clock crazies", where she runs through the house like she's on fire. She made a jump for the coffee table, which I had just waxed & put on it a hurricane lamp with decorations around it. when she hit the table she didn't stop but slid clear across,taking everything with her. Broke the lamp & scattered the arrangment everywhere! Well, I should have thought to not put anything breakable on there anyway, but she doesn't bother the tree or anything else so I thought it would be ok. Didn't think of taking a picture tho', took me awhile just to get up all the pieces of glass. She was not on my "favorites" list for awhile!

Yesterday I received André's new DVD done at the Semperoper in Dresden. What
a wonderful concert! Lots of new songs,
and a new singer. The Platin tenors were in top form, as were CArmen and Mirusia.
Thank You Jolly for giving us the name of this beautiful lady. It rang a bell, and I believe I recall seeing her, but you are very up dated, and glad you are on top of the Orchestra. She has a very beautiful "smile"!
Thank You Jeanine Ann, for your posting of 12/13 of Maestro Andre. Lifted my spirits, and put a much need smile on my face. One dose of Andre medication is a whole lot better than the bitter meds our physicians give us. Slowly, very slowly perking up, and starting to feel a wee bit better. Happiness and Smiles to "all".

I have now seen the Austrlian concert and wow...what a BEAUTIFUL concert.
Thank you for the warm welcome. I'll tell you a little story about how I went to the Andre Concert in Brisbane. I discovered Andre when he was the special guest on the Australian "Dancing with the Stars" on 9 November 2008. Andre and the JSO performed The Blue Danube and Bolero. The next day I booked to go to the conert on 4 December and I got a good seat. However my 88 year old mum had to have a very serious operation at the end of November so I cancelled my ticket. I was so disappointed but at that time we were so worried about Mum's operation. The good news is mum made a fairly good recovery from the operation so on 3 December I booked again but the seat was not as good as the first one. I still enjoyed the concert. So when tickets went on sale for Andre's concert next year I made sure I got a good seat!!! I really want to have a better view of Andre and the JSO. Even though Andre came to Australia last year (he went to Sydney and Melbourne only) on a promotional tour, the first time I discovered Andre was when he performed on "Dancing With the Stars". Since that time, he has changed my life!!!!!!!!!! When Princess Diana was alive, I collected every story/magazine/book that was written about her. Since she died, noone captivated my interest and imagination, but then I discovered Andre! Now I have an emormous interest, enthusiasm and admiration for Andre. I have to listen to Andre every day!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again for the warm welcome and I love reading all your comments. Happy Christmas!!
Hello Helen, thank you for the wonderful story of how you found André. That was so gracious of you to give up your ticket for your Mom's surgery but then family does come first. My mum has been in hospital again with a very bad chest infection but she is getting better. Before mum went into hospital I would watch all the joyful performances by Andre but when she was in hospital and we were so worried, I watched Mirusia sing "Ava Maria" which was so beautiful. I don't think there is anything that was ever written about Andre and the JSO that is not archived here somewhere.
Many of us here are very long-time fans of Andre so collectively there is not much we don't know about the man. Please feel free to ask questions or to be pointed in the right direction. A bit of a revision is good exercise for us and also allows us to relive some of the experiences that have gone a bit cloudy. Welcome aboard.

For the first time André will be performing 4 evenings on the Vrijthof in Maastricht.
On July 10,11 and 12 the fifth anniversary of the Vrijthof concerts will be celebrated.
Now for the first time an extra concert will be going on sale coming saturday! 20/12/2008
In the past four years the concerts on the Vrijthof grew into an international happening for everybody.

Marlene, I would love to have a "White Christmas" just for once. I was about 40 yrs old before I saw snow in real life. My mother 89 yrs old has never seen it. Only a small area of Australia gets snow and then only for a couple of months in winter. Lynne and I took all our family for a snow holiday last year to Mt Kosciusko (2000km away) and it cost me about $8000 for the week. We had a great time but not something you can do every year. Christmas wishes to you.

My grandniece had a little baby boy last night and my sister was just informed she will have a rose, with her name on it, on the Rose Bowl parade Donate Life float. (She has been a recipient of two cornea transplants), the float will honor the donors as well as the recipients. What a blessing it is to receive a gift of love, and after all, isn't that the best gift of all? I'm wishing you all the gift of Love.

I love Xmas, too, but more the giving, I love when people open their gifts and like it much more than receiving some. I like my kids being here for Xmas and we do things together. Just came home from some Xmas shopping, I am dead, but I got my tickets for the André concert in April 2OO9 at the ticket outlet on the Bell center. Amazing, I looked last week on line at the ticket master from Bell center, the tickets on the balcony for 4l6.-- US $ for 2, I got the very same ones for 2O9.-- Can.$, so that is better, I could have had for the same price 2Ost row parterre, but I think we look at the JSO from above this time. WOW! Grayeme, when & how did you first hear of Andre? I know one thing for sure, Mr Cyrus Meher of Universal music is a great spokesman for Andre. I think between Universal and Ovation publicity he became even more known.What a great job of promotion they have done. That Leo Schofield likes Andre a great deal too, so it is no wonder that Andre caught on like wild fire! Kudos to all who have made him "Holland's greatest export"!
Shirley, I first saw Andre on the ABC here and I think it was around Christmas time 1998. I cannot remember which concert it was. Often when I am looking back at some of the older concerts I get flashes, but I can never be sure. However it was enough to hook me and it went from there. I collected things by visiting various obscure forums etc and when a DvD came out I would source it from overseas. I never really had time like I do now and that is why I never sort of got involved in websites like this. So much of the old video stuff I had has now been released here in Australia under so many different names I don't know where I am up to. Been lots of fun though.
Just add that you are absolutely right Shirley about Ovation Channel. As I have said many times on this blog, The success of Andre in Australia is solely due to Ovation Channel and word of mouth from there. "Songs From My Heart" was the one that really set things going here and now the rest is history.
Hi everyone, do you remember when I ordered the body lotion and framed photo of Andre? You probably remember the terrorist threats at the time and the whole story of how my order was held at customs for months because of the lotion. Well I can hardly believe it but today I finally received my Christmas order which consisted of the brooch and the violin necklace that was to be from my sister and Clyde. Well I almost died when I saw this clear plastic envelope in the mailbox and inside were the charred remains of just the brooch. The package was black with soot and I cannot even believe that they did not return it to Andre's site. I emailed them the other day and said I am worried about my order because it was a Christmas present and they agreed to send another out to me and if I get the original package I would send it back. Same thing that happened with the other item last year. I am glad I had them send another one because obviously this is not usable and the violin necklace is gone, I guess it melted in the fire. You all know the value of the necklace and brooch so they are out one necklace and I am going to return the entire order as I received it. I am still wondering where the fire was! So I will not have my gift for Christmas but hopefully the second order will arrive shortly thereafter. I must now email the helpdesk and I don't know how to explain this one! Hugs to all

Hi Shirley, the package was registered so I am sure they could track it. There was even a note on the one side of the package which was not too badly burned with a note to return if undeliverable. I would have considered that undeliverable. I cannot believe that our post office even brought it here. It is a rural post office and they are not always on the ball. I feel bad that the beautiful violin necklace was destroyed. I will see what I can find. Stay tuned! Hugs

Greetings from Snowy Maine. My little Johann loves the snow. I don't let him out by himself but he loves to go. Cookies are baked. Let's hope I remember to take them out of the freezer. I hope all of you had a great Christmas! Ours was good, sort of...dealing with snow, cold, getting stuck in snow...etc. Other than that it was good. I'm very happy that it's over. Next year...I hope to skip it. haha. But, I sincerely hope that all of you have a fantastic one!

Oh How Beautiful ! Clayton is so pretty, and his eyes are Expressive!! Wow.
What a gorgeous cat. Looks like my beloved Samson except Sam was more gray. Had him for 19 years until this past August. Is Clayton quite vocal? Samson was. Now we have Johann Strauss who is a Maine Coon. He is only seven months old so we have lots of unexpected events. His favorite bed is a large Christmas Cactus. Also have Benny (14) and Oedipuss (4).
Clayton, well, you are the master of the house hmn? You are certainly a sleek & elegant looking kitty,a regal prince.
Many thanks from Clayton and me for publishing those pictures Jeanine. Yes he is a wonderful cat or should I say person! Previously over the years we had female Abbysinians but this male one is very different. He asserts himself as one of the family, tells us when to go to bed and gets very anxious if we don't obey him. He doesn't love children, but likes all adults that like cats and he knows who does and doesn't.
By the way I wrote a reply on the Brazilian blog re Carla Maffioletti no longer being with Andre's troop. What a pity?
But I will always remember her stunning operatic performances, particularly when with a high pitched note they simulated her destroying a huge chandelaire, that rained down thousands of pieces. Also her portrayal of a singing windup doll. Again her performance with Carmen and Suzan doing their act of the three Chinese girls who were cheesed off cleaning dirty nappies etc
At least with DVD's we can look back at such wonderful performances and our Aussie Marusia, I suppose takes her place.

Oh my yes, I certainly miss Carla too! Her voice is amazing, no matter what she sings.My favorite was "the laughing song",(mein herr marquis),but whether it's a duet, or solo, whatever, her voice blends so well with others.She is exceptional. She does have a web site where you can keep up with what she's doing. She's been a busy gal, but I surely miss her with Andre.
My husband is so dissapointed that Carla is leaving as she was his favorite, also did Jo the piano player retire? He has been with Andre since the beginning and I loved his sense of humor as well as his music. How about Susan Erens as she hasn't been on the last two new DVD's. I am full of questions today. I read that the 4 million stradivarius was sold to a girl in Japan & the current Strad that Andre plays is worth 11 million. Did Andre say it cost that much or is that a misquote as I can't remember where I read that. I wish all a happy, healthy 2009 and to quote our Andre " And of course a lot of music"

Marguerite,Jo Huijts is now with the leudalzangers, a choir in the Netherlands. They just came out with a Christmas cd, their first I believe,name "Resonet in Laudibus". There is a web site, www.leudalzangers.nl. It's in Dutch but you can translate it. I miss Jo also as he was the first pianist of Andre's that I saw. I think he was with Andre for about 18 years, but as it happens, sometimes the different orchestra members choose to move on to their own careers. It has to be a challenge sometime to always be away from home so much. I miss the different ones when they leave, but I wish them all success in their own ventures. Andre always seems to find great talent so no matter the changes, we still get A-1 concerts. BTW, Stephanie Detry does a fine job as pianist too. To all I wish a Happy New Year. "fast away the old year passes, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la"....

Berliner Philharmoniker Launches Online Concerts
The Berliner Philharmoniker has launched it own Digital Concert Hall.
The video platform will be accessible to the public at www.berliner-philharmoniker.de. In the first live broadcast on Jan. 6, the Berliner Philharmoniker under Sir Simon Rattle will present a special concert featuring Johannes Brahms' First Symphony and other works.
Audiences in the Digital Concert Hall will be able to hear approximately 30 concerts live every season. After the concert, the live recording can be retrieved from a video archive. Documentaries about the orchestra's work will also be available
Visitors to the Digital Concert Hall may choose from various ticket options. For €9.90 ($13.80) they can either purchase a ticket for a single live broadcast or retrieve a concert from the archive and watch it as often as they wish within a
48-hour period.
There is also a season ticket for €149.00 ($207.53), which makes all live concerts and archive recordings accessible without limits. For the 2008/2009 season, which is already in progress, this ticket is available at a special price of €89.00 ($123.96).
Remote-controlled cameras deliver high-definition recording quality, while state-of-the-art encoding technology transfers images and sound to the Internet.
Olaf Maninger, principal cellist and a member of the orchestra's media board, is one of the originators of the Digital Concert Hall idea. "Our primary concern is to achieve presentation and broadcasting quality that meets our artistic demands,” he said in a statement. "We have installed excellent recording and studio technology in the Philharmonie in order to record our concerts as authentically and vividly as possible."
The sponsor of the Digital Concert Hall is the Deutsche Bank, which has been the orchestra's exclusive partner since 2002.
Sir Simon Rattle, chief conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker, added: "When the idea of the Digital Concert Hall occurred to us, I was immediately certain that this is the way of the future. I believe it is a marvellous thing for both the orchestra and the public. And it is a wonderful feeling to be able to welcome far more people to the Philharmonie than before."

Happy New Year Jeff Rubino, "YES", I sure did get mine, I was certainly so very happy and surprised when I got such a treasured addition to add to my very beautiful collection of André. I don't have many of these beauties, but what I have I will treasure with my whole heart, and remember the very special, thoughtful person who sent these to me at such a special time as Christmas. You lifted my spirits 100% and shore have helped put me back on the road to recovery. You are a true friend Jeff. May 2009 be very good to you. Happiness and smiles always......
