Simone's Concert Report - Cologne, 2009

New Year's Concert in Cologne
My parents and I left Bad Hersfeld around noon to drive for the 7th time to the New Years concert with André in Cologne.
When we arrived the Arena was already filled with many people. I met a lot of fans I already know, and a lot of people came to me and asked me if I am the girl from the TV show. Unbelievable, That was 1 ½ years ago. It was nice to speak with all the people and the time went fast until the concert started.
Exactly at 4 the lights dimmed and André and the Orchestra came in to “76 Trombones”. He recognized me very soon and smiled at me. He was in a very very good mood. I rarely saw him like this. He joked and laughed the whole time.
The new program was a “Best Of” from the last 30 years, and so I knew most of the songs he played and things he did, but that did not matter. I liked all and he played many of my favorite songs. After the break only the guys were on the stage. Then came the girls dressed as “Dutch Girls” and did the “Clog Dance”. While the girls again dressed into their concert clothes the guys on stage had a big party. It was very funny.
My favorite song was “Time to say goodbye”, and Mirusia’s rendition was so fantastic and she looked so nice in the red dress.
The time went by so quickly that I couldn't believe it was time for the “Radetzky March”.
During the encores he again had a big Party on stage. He played many songs from Cologne and the whole audience sang.
And then it was over, but it was very nice.
After the concert my parents, Stefan and I went to a restaurant and had something to eat and some beer and talked again about the concert.
Then we drove home. Of course we have the tickets for our 8th New Years Concert.

If I were to choose the "Best of the Last 30 Years" in regards to André's music, it would be very difficult as there is so many "Best".
I love the song "Time To Say Goodbye" and would love to hear André play it. I hope I get the opportunity.

Simone, ich sehe an euere foto André R.. Ist schon und Zauberfoto wie di sind allzusammen und vor allem selbst André wie ist fuhrt. Ich kenne nicht Orchester, welcher wurde bei eine wurde tanzen so sehr der Zuseher. Viel Sie danke und ich gruse Sie Simone, Sally Chaney und die andere Fans.
