Andre on Ajax

More than 50.000 elated people sang and danced yesterday with André, before the Ajax-Olympic Marseille game, to the tones of The Second Waltz and The choir of the Hebrew Slaves. It was an overwhelming success! Just as 15 years ago, at the game against Bayern München.
Ajax, the Amsterdam footballclub, celebrated its 109th birthday yesterday.
So even more reason to party.

The energy and the enthusiasm of these 50.000 people, all waving little flags was really fantastic. Right from the first tonesgoose bumps for everyone. I am glad to be coming back to the Amsterdam ArenA on September 5th, with the Schönbrunn Castle, said André Rieu.

What an exciting game this was, and to have Andre there to play his music with what looked like over 50,000 white flags waving, goosebumps really does describe the scene. Despite the loss of the game to the French, from what I could see, right to the very end it looked like they might win.
It might have been a bitter end to a great 109th birthday party but Ajax should be very proud of they way they played. Thank you Erol.

Hi Jeanine Ann and Hi to Joy, I too had problems getting this site to open. Also
the last few photos that you put on the blog Jeanine Ann, I got a blank box with a little box marked with a red X, so if it were of Andre, I missed out on a double dose of happiness. I also saw the post of some tickets becoming available at upcoming Concerts, I was eager to take advantage, BUT, how do you
suggest to your ticket buyer, who is kind enough to take me to a Concert, and say, please get on-line OR call and see if you can upgrade these tickets and not sound unapprecative??? I better zip my mouth, I will be happy with what ever ticket seat I have. That is the nasty work of the devil tapping into my brain saying "ask for more" OR better tickets. I have fought that demon, and I
am again supper excited about my getting closer to Concert - 31 sleeps before I see Maestro "Heart Throb", excuse the drool at the bottom of this note. HAPPY SPRING TO ALL !!!!!!!

Oh Judith, I know how you feel about seeing Andre for the first time.  I have been there and drooling ever since.  What date is your concert?
As far as the photos, there were three of them and I am seeing them now.  It must be something with your computer.  I will email them to you sweetie so you don't miss out on anything.
We upgraded our tickets in Toronto in the same price range by calling Ticketmaster.  Wherever you got your tickets you can call them to upgrade because sometimes they get cancellations.  You have nothing to lose and maybe something to gain.  Don't forget to try to get to the stage at encore time (if you can take being that close) : )   When we were in A.C. the lady who threw the broken balloons at Andre was standing right beside me and he started walking toward her pointing his bow at her (I was literally on the flowers at the stage) and he was so close I could not even take a photo.  My knees were turning to jelly.  So be careful!  Hugs
