A few months ago Andre Rieu asked on the internet and Dutch television for 400 Brass players in the Nederlands.

I was born in Limburg and started playing on the trumpet when I was five years old and I live now near Utrecht and have my own music chapel ( www.herrieindetent.nl ) together with my wife.
 

We have a chapel with 18 people  and we play popular music for all kind of events in The Netherlands. This year we also started with a music chapel for only Brass players (40 people) and play two performance in a year with brass players from all of the Netherlands. Our first performance was in Groenlo music chapel event and on September 6, 2009 we play in Poeldijk on a big music chapel event. ( http://www.niehoutnie.nl/ )


Andre wanted to give five concerts in Maastricht with 400 brass-players and his JSO.
I play the trumpet and I sent an email to his staff.  After a few weeks he responded that I was one of the Brass Players 400 players.

The first two practices were with 50 brass-players together in the Studio of André Rieu in Maastricht and afterwards we played with all the 400 Brass players in Genk (Belgium).

The last two day’s we came all together 400 brass-players in Kerkrade in the Football stadium to practice everything, the walking together and all the music numbers.

We play in one week to practice with his JSO, that was a heavy time but also a nice time.
I drove that week for more then 2000 km to the practice .

Andre is a very nice men, he wants to have a good concert, so we play very much the day’s before the concerts.
 


The day before the starting of the concerts we practice is Maastricht a long time 11 hours.
The concerts starting on July 10, 2009 at 21.30 till 0.30 .
We played five days. This was a beautiful time for me and the other brass players.

Every evening there were 10,000 people to listen to the concerts.
For me this was a great time and experience! And next year September 2010 André Rieu  asks all of the brass-players if they also want to play with Andre Rieu and his JSO in the Arena in Amsterdam.


I hope that the DVD is great and that everybody likes it.
