Nothing Andre does will ever surprise me again.
I can't believe that anyone would think it possible to hire two icebreakers and transport an orchestra and two people from every country to the Arctic and perform a classical concert for the Inuit and Sami. I bet the Inuit and Sami are amazed too.
I wonder how much the tickets to be one of "the couple" will be?
    Dream on Jill.
This man is trully unique. He must have great powers of persuasion too to be able to convince people this can be done, let alone getting enough people to help him do it.
    I wonder what Pierre thinks?

Yes Jill, Andre never ceases to amaze me.  Just when I think he has done about everything possible he comes up with something unique.  What a special man he is.  I don't like cold places but I would go to that concert if there was any way possible.  It would be very expensive because the logistics are awesome.  Cannot wait to get all the details.  Hugs

It shows how much he is into the environmental issues, climate change, solar energy etc. He always seems aware of everything that goes on around the world.

An interesting little article I found about Andre's North Pole adventure.

With a concert at the North Pole Andre Rieu is hoping to draw more attention to the melting of ice sheets and climate. The world famous violinist and conductor are seriously thinking about it. His son Pierre explains it further in De Telegraaf. "My father is very concerned about environmental issues."

The company has a commitment to "more progressive, green image" , according to Pierre. It is already considered a solar option for the company. Andre Rieu and his wife have been involved in a project in the African Burkina Faso, Since trees are replanted. According to his father's son Pierre, " "My father would prefer again play on the moon, but this is a more viable option."

. Of course there are also comment on the plans for a concert in the Arctic. There is the risk that the trip is harmful to the environment. . The cost of the trip will be very high, the trip lasts twelve days and costs 35,000 euros per person. The group itself consists of seventy people. At the concert, the audience consisting solely of the local population.

    35000 Euro(s) = 49992.9 US Dollar(s)   I guess I won't be going!
