ANDRE RIEU & A Circus Movie NEWS FLASH

“RED DUST TO COLOURS”
A Circus Movie In The Making

The "Red Dust to Colours" concept was originally created by Robert Bruce and Teresa Matvejs.  Robert was introduced, in May 2007, to Gold Coast Actor/Writer and Snow Business Productions co-founder Gary Mitchell.

Robert Bruce is the current Ringmaster and resident clown “Archie” of the Lennon Brothers Circus in Australia. He has spent many years associated with circuses in the USA, Mexico and Australia.  It has been his passion for some time to bring the story of Archie, and circus in Australia, to audiences worldwide. Teresa Matvejs is an accomplished writer and poet who is currently studying Film and Television at Bond University on the Gold Coast.

Together with his Snow Business Productions partner, Dennis De Cicco, Gary set about writing a powerful screenplay based in the Circus which brings to life a truly wonderful feel good story.  It traces Archie’s fall from grace and eventual triumph over tremendous adversity with the help and strength of his Granddaughter, Faith and a little Aboriginal magic.

"Red Dust to Colours" will surprise and move audiences with tragedy and excitement set in the outback of North West Queensland in Australia. The story takes place predominantly in the Cloncurry/Mt Isa/Tennant Creek area and will feature locations in California and South East Queensland.

The soundtrack* of the project will feature the beautiful music of Dutch violinist
Andre Rieu, the wonderfully Australian bush sounds created by Matt James didgeridoo (Previous resident musician at Australia Zoo), a driving rock number by George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers and a country classic from Willie Nelson (and more).

The production will bring to the screen an amazing array of colour, tragedy, drama, characters, and wonderful circus performances set in the beautiful landscapes that are the outback of Australia. With the help of the circus community in Australia a great deal of the infrastructure in terms of props/costumes/tents/circus acts that we need to shoot the film with will be on hand for us to utilise.  Stay tuned to updates on our News page.

Scouting and negotiation of potential shooting locations has already commenced and scouting for talent is well under way.  Our contacts in Los Angeles have already provided us with our lead female in the story who is an American teenager and Archie’s Granddaughter, Faith. Casting has now been completed and the successful actor chosen was Kara Peteresen from L.A.

We have been in touch with the Mt Isa Chamber of Commerce concerning the town as a potential location to base the story. The target audience is broad but primarily this is a G-PG family movie that Disney would be proud to have in its stable.

*Final permission for the use of these artists’ music is subject to negotiation with the music distributors in Australia, in particular Universal Music Australia. We would like to thank A. Printezis, the Licensing & Commercial Marketing Manager of Universal Music Australia Pty Ltd, for her help to date in our music budgeting process.
