We've been sharing for weeks that Andre Rieu was to perform on Carmen Nebel's Gala for German Cancer Aid.  Here is a report of the show and the many performers who gave their time.

Duisburg, 27.09.2009, Verena Barton Andrews, 0 Comments, Trackback-URLZum 35-year anniversary of the German Cancer Aid took place on Saturday in the Rhine-Ruhr Hall to a Star-studded. The ZDF show "Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel" was a gala of generosity.

Viewers donated a total of 3.8 million euro during the live broadcast. Many stars took part in the TV show and called for support of the German Cancer Aid.

The opening of the three-hour broadcast DJ Ötzi did with his song "Sweet Caroline". The band inspired the Pur begeisterte die Halle with their hit "Adventureland" and music from their new album. One of the highlights were the performances by André Rieu and Howard Stern. No less top notch: Patricia Kaas, Sasha, John Miles and Mark Medlock. Tenor Jose Carreras, who himself fell ill in 1987 at leukemia, moved the score in the Rhine-Ruhr Area, with two of his operettas. Even Barbara Schoneberg proved with her song "Forbidden good" that it is not just acting. In the joint appearance of the Bundeswehr Big Band and "Riverdance" his feet did not stand still. The Irish tap dancers offered a dramatic presentation.

The glamorous show was moderated by Carmen Nebel who has committed himself privately to the fight against cancer. It supports a children's cancer clinic in Freiburg.

During the gala, there was a live link for food. There also has been busy collecting money. Werner Hansch sports reporter and presenter Miriam Pielhau celebrated 20 years at the feet of world cultural heritage Zollverein.

In addition to the successful performances of the stars, the real theme of the gala was not left out of sight. The fate of cancer patients has been shown by many personal stories. At the end of the show, the hostess was able to come up with a happy ending. A leukemia patient was cured for the first time the opportunity to thank his rescuer.

The balance of the collected donations shows that it pays a benefit gala like this. Apparently many people are willing to do something good from the couch.
