My Day With Andre Rieu - Elaine Burch
MY DAY WITH ANDRE' RIEU WAS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME DREAM AND WORTH EVERY BIT OF MONEY I SPENT AND IF I GET ANOTHER CHANCE TO VISIT WITH ANDRE' I WILL DO SO.
IN JUNE ON THE 12th MY DREAM CAME TRUE AT GM PLACE AT THE BOX OFFICE AT 4:30 PM . I WAS ON TIME AND NOT LATE. THE BACKSTAGE DOOR OPENED AND THE FIRST PERSON I MET WAS KERSTIN CORNELIUS, ANDRE'S RIGHT HAND LADY WHEN HE IS ON TOUR. WHAT A NICE LADY AND SHE MADE ME FEEL WELCOME AND AT EASE RIGHT AWAY.
THE SOUND CHECK WAS GREAT AND WHAT A MEAL THEY SERVE AT THE BACKSTAGE SUPPER. ANDRE' MAKES SURE EVERYONE HAS LOTS TO EAT AND HE KEEPS EVERYONE HAPPY IN THE JSO. EVERYONE IS SO FRIENDLY AND WARM AND THE CONCERT WAS GREAT.
ANDRE IS EVERYTHING I THOUGHT HE WOULD BE. HE IS THE BOSS AND HE DEMANDS RESPECT FROM EVERYONE. WHAT YOU SEE OF ANDRE' IS WHAT YOU GET. AT THE SOUND CHECK WE TOLD WE WERE NOT TO TALK TO ANDRE' BECAUSE HE WAS WORKING. WHEN I SAW ANDRE' HE HAD PUT HIS VIOLIN DOWN AND HAD HIS BACK TURNED TOWARD ME AND HE TURNED AROUND AND SMILED AT ME AND WAVED. I SAID ANDRE' AND HE SMILED AT ME AGAIN. THE JSO. PLAYED "I COULD HAVE DANCED ALL NIGHT" FOR US. THE SOUND CHECK WAS GOOD.
THE CONCERT WAS GREAT AND PEOPLE WERE OUT OF THEIR SEATS AND ON THEIR FEET AS SOON AS THE MUSIC STARTED TO PLAY. THE VANCOUVER FANS WERE GREAT AND SO WAS ANDRE'.
MEETING HIM AFTER THE CONCERT WAS THE ICING ON THE CAKE. YOU WILL SEE MY REACTION TO HIM. I HUGGED HIM AND LOOKED INTO THE CAMERA LIKED HE TOLD ME TO DO. IT IS A WONDERFUL PICTURE AND I WILL CHERISH THAT PHOTO FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
I WILL BE AN ANDRE' RIEU FAN FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. THANKS AND LOVE TO ALL OF YOU.

Elaine I can feel your excitement as if I am at a concert all over again. It is good to read about the sound checks, I've never been to one. It must be something to see the 'backstage' workings of the JSO. Thanks so much for tell us all about this and your meeting with Andre. Big Smiles!

seeing that picture brings bach good memories.andre' has brought into my life lots of happiness, iam thankful that iam alive to see this all for myself. alive to see what that man does with his music and how means so much to everyone around the world. and because of him i have met people from all over the world. thankyou andre'. elaine burch.

I'm so happy for you Elaine. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience in meeting with André, I'm sure it was a special moment. It's a dream that someday I will be able to meet him, but until that moment, if I can share in your experience just by reading your words, then it's the next best thing.

OH MY GOD!!! Elaine I have only just read your entry. I am so jealous. It must have been an awesome experience for you!! It's a dream of mine to eventually meet Andre, JSO and all the singers. It was fantastic to hear all about your encounter and see your photo. Thank you for sharing it with us. GOOD ON YA
