Andre Rieu Opa of Linde & Lieke
For the second time in four months Andre Rieu has become a grandfather. The wife of Pierre Rieu has given birth to twins.
The adorable little girls were born on Tuesday, October 13 and are named Linde and Lieke. Mother Eefje and daughters are very good and the father Pierre is in heaven.
Andre Rieu In late June, first became a grandfather with the birth of grandson, Ivan, son of Marc & Andrea.
Opa Andre is extremely proud and can not wait until he is back on November 3 from Australia.
Until then Violinist Opa is busy with buying baby clothes. (and concerts)

Yes Shirley, now it is "official" which reminds me - it seems there has been some talk around the other fan sites that we posted a "rumor" on the birth of the twins. We just want to assure everyone that we do NOT post rumors on the blog. When Lyndall sent the information to us we knew it was "from a most reliable source" and we all have our sources. Lyndall would not send us a rumor so I just want to make that clear to those who are posting otherwise.
The same is true of the "Australian Adventures" DVD. After receiving the artwork late last night I worked until 11:30 to get it posted and Sally finished it up with the photos so when the word comes in we get it on the blog no matter when it is and in some case we may have information posted before others but that is the way it is. I always figure what does it matter who gets it first as long as we get it to you, the fans. Thanks

Hello Elizabeth, I remember, you had a beautiful son named Ben. when Andre played Ben I thought of him & my grandfather who was also a Ben. I am sorry they both are no longer with us but they do live in our hearts forever don't they? I hope you are well & happy. Welcome to the blog.

Hi Libby, no I wasn't at Maastricht. I just remember you from a comment you made in Andre's guestbook on year. at that time they showed our e-mail addresses. I e-mailed you a letter & you responded. My sister had lost a son also & I felt your love & pain at losing your Ben. I guess you were just one of my most "unforgettable people". I didn't know you had been in Maastricht, it must have come as a surprise & shock to hear that song, very extra meaningful to you. I'm glad you were there. Wish I had been too.

Hi Shirley I went to Maastricht last year on the anniversary of Ben's murder, about which nothing has been done.Adelaide University has a medal in his honour which is awarded to the top achieving person who wants to enter the entrepreneurial program.I would now be a grandma of 2 if he were not in heaven. We have twins in our family.My grandchildren would have had Aus,Uk,US,Dutch and German heritage-mini UN.Please keep chatting.It is great.Libby

Hi again Libby, I'm sorry that nothing yet has been done about Ben. Sometimes justice is very slow moving, if ever it comes. No one can take Ben from your heart, he remains there forever. I know it hurts to think of what might have been,so just try to think of what was, the time you did have with him, all the wonderful memories. Some day, some way, someone will have to pay, in one way or another. My sister has gone through much of the same thing as you & that is why you caught my attention a few years back. Whatever is good, whatever is true, think on those things. Libby, I think I still have your e-mail address if you would like me to talk that way. Altough I am glad to see you here too. it would be your choice.

I do have wonderful memories of Ben.He was cheeky, highly intelligent like Andre but only spoke 2 languages.He played the bass guitar in a band,keyboards,piano, and drums.I asked himt to come and cut the lawn as it was 30cm high.His response - another 100 before we lose you Mum. How exciting for the Rieu clan! As antsy? as Andre is, it must be hard for him to be so far away right now! I bet that the holidays will be wonderful and exciting for that family. I hope all Andre fans have a great holiday season as well.
