Paste the URL into google and have it translated from German to English. The Amazon page will come up in English that will be good enough to buy the CD's. Someone on the blog had asked about the 5-DVD set released recently. I don't know who it was but I found this information at Hans Music Spot. In Australia the set is called "Be My Love". Hope this helps. Please note that these are previously released DVD's.
Love makes the world go round, they say. This collection includes some of
the most beautiful melodies ever written and performed from the heart by
André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra. The concerts and showpieces
are set in some of the most romantic cities in the world - Vienna, Venice,
Paris, Tuscany and André's own hometown of Maastricht.
We see the most moving moments from André's musical career and witness how
touched he is when he comes home after years of concert tours to find a
rapturous welcome in his own country. The collection features 5 of Andre's
previously released DVDs; Songs from My Heart, Romantic Paradise, Love
Around the World (Walzertraum), Love Songs and Dream Come True
(documentary).
Here is music to cherish in solitude or to share with friends. Radiant
sunset, soft breezes and dark, starlit skies - the perfect backdrop for an
invitation to Be My Love.

A Poppy Is To Remember:
Once there was a long and terrible war - a war some called the Great War. Many young men went off to fight, and many did not return home to their families.
But still, in the muddy fields where they fought, wild poppies sprang up, glowing brightly.
An army officer, weary from tending the wounded, wrote a poem about that war, and about those poppies.
In Flanders Fields In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely signing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fiels.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch, be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
Hi poem was read far and wide. When the war finally ended, on November 11, 1918, people everywhere celebrated the return to peace.
A poppy is to remember those far from home, crossing toubled lands and threatening waters and dangerous skies.
It is for the wounded, and those who cared for them.
It is for the dead, and those who carried on without them.
It is for the brave ones who remain, and their memories of battle.
A poppy is for peace.
Every year on Remembrance Day it blooms across our land. - Lest We Forget (or/mais) Nous Nous Souviendrons.

But don't get too excited because my photo gallery is kind of one sided. I must tell you that I have tunnel vision (not really) only photo-wise.
But seriously Jill I am happy that you received that email. She is such a nice person. I had my photo taken with her in Toronto. You know when I think back I could have had my photo taken with most of the JSO but I am so shy (really) and if it were not for an ex friend of mine I would not even have that. My husband took one of me with Bela but it was blurred. And even at the Meet and Greet I look back and cannot believe how many photo ops I missed because I thought that all this wasn't happening to me. I could not even eat. My plate had one little piece of meat and a few pieces of rice and Kerstin says "oh you are being so modest" but it was not that, I was just in this state of disbelief. But I could have had so many photos of everyone. Kerstin even said 'take all the photos you want - just don't approach Andre's table' - that is like someone saying take all the ice cream you want - just don't eat it. But I was glued to my chair anyway. I took about 3 from my table with the telephoto lens.
You were talking about the hot weather there Jill, does it stay pretty hot all spring and summer or does it vary a lot like our weather? Our July was terrible this year, not hot like usual and it was rainy. Our late summer is usually dry but this one was wet. I think I would like your weather. Someday I hope to visit. Big hug to you!

Next we saw Cord walking with Judith, and a few more. I would say there were 12 or so JSO member outside, in street clothes just walking about. All most no one recognize them. Marlene and I were amazed.
Same thing when Shirley, Rex, Sharon & I were in Oakland. Gary Bennett was in the parking lot, taking a walk. Hi there Maxine(Max), I was thrilled to see your post re our new Geelong Andre Rieu Friendship Group. As the name suggests we'll be a group of people who will meet on a regular basis. We will chat about all things Andre and JSO. The meetings are intended to be fun, informal gatherings that are both friendly and upbeat. In our meetings we can chat about Andre's c.d.'s, d.v.d's, concert tours or even fun experiences we have had re Andre in the past. And if you have that special JSO member, soloist or tenor that you are hooked on you're welcome to include them. First and foremost it is important that people have a great time together. Andre wouldn't have it any other way!! In the future I aim to try to arrange it so that people from our group can go to concerts together if they wish too and enjoy the experience even more. Apart from the obvious enjoyment of doing this I have been led to believe that Ticketek also gives a slight discount for group bookings. Every little bit helps right!! The meetings are planned to take place in a cafe or similar venue in the Geelong city centre that is appropriate. It would be nice to have the option to have a bite to eat if possible but that would be optional. The reason for the central location is to make it as accessible as possible(car, bus or train etc). We are planning the first meeting to be either in the last week of Jan or first week of Feb. A day and time for the meeting will be set when we know who will definitely be coming as we want to make it suitable for everyone or at least try our hardest too. The reason for it being so far off is to allow people to recover from Christmas, come back from holidays or finish getting the kids ready for the upcoming school year. We just want everyone to be relaxed when we meet, especially for the first time. Membership will not require any financial payment what so ever after all we need to save our pennies for all things Andre. Although we would love it if member's could attend regularly we understand that peoples lives are very busy these days and sometimes other commitments won't permit this and that's okay. Fans and Friends from anywhere will be welcomed. You do not have to live in the Geelong area you could even be a visitor from interstate or overseas who just wants to attend as a one off or more. It really doesn't matter who or where you come from if you share the passion for Andre and JSO that's all that matters. I have already had an inquiry from N.Z by a woman who wishes to join us when she is on holidays here which is fantastic. Also it doesn't matter what your age is or whether you are shy or outgoing you will be made to feel most welcome and included. I WOULD LOVE it if you could join us, the more the merrier. Please feel free to e-mail me on day61break@hotmail.com or on this fantastic blog. If you can't join us you can still contact me either way. I would really love to hear from you! cheRIEU JILL GEELONG VICTORIA AUSTRALIA

Ode for St.Cecilia's Day is a cantata composed by George Frideric Handel in 1739.The premiere was on November 22,1739 at the Theatre in Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.
" What passion cannot music raise, and quell? When Jubal struck the chorded shell, His listening brethren stood 'round. And wondering on their faces fell, To worship that celestial sound! Enrico Caruso is resonsible for my love of opera & classical music. We had a neighbor who had an old wind up Victrola & a lot of Caruso records. As a child , I would listen for hours, "Aunt Jett" & I, sitting on a porch swing, as the music played on. The quality of the sound was not like today, but for us,it was special, better than some of the music on the radio. And so it was when I first saw & heard Andre Rieu, I knew this was something special. With voices like Carmen & Carla, who are second to none, and a different approach to "classical",albeit light classical, I was thinking that "Aunt Jett" would really have enjoyed this too.

For Jill from Geelong. I bought the DVD from Andre's boutique. The title is in German and translates to "I left my heart in Heidelberg", which is a feature song Mirusia sings. The Platin Tenors are very different & wonderful & feature highly at the start singing rollicking songs (with actions) from "The Student Prince". Mirusia & Carla were wonderful. Carmen was not there & Suzan left last year of course. The Italians with Mirusia & a little Fiat 500 feature. Andre gives Mirusia a credit card to take shopping! Frank & his mobile carillon featured too & had a race with Marcel Felize & his zylophone - both ended in smoke. Pre-recordings about beautiful Heidelberg were cut into the concert & were brilliant. The German guests were the Berlin Comedian Harmonists who copy the style of the original & world famous Comedian Harmonists from the thirties. They were very different & we loved them - funny. Even the audience featured. But without doubt Andre was the main highlight. He played wonderfully, sang & jumped about. We just loved every bit of the DVD. Everyone will too.
Thank you so much for this info. This DVD sounds absolutely perfect and just what I am looking for.
I can't wait to see Mirusia with the credit card and Frank and Marcel, that sounds so funny. From what you have mentioned it would seem to have everything in it that I want.

To Jill from Geelong. It is impossible to select out recommendations as each DVD has its own wonderful and special moments that you will love. The Dresden DVD "Dancing in the Skies" is very different, very funny in parts & compliments Heidelberg perfectly. "The Flying Dutchman" was the first DVD we saw on Ovation (soon to be dropped by Foxtel & Austar cable/sat services) in late 2006 and it blew us away. "Dreaming", "Tuscany", "Gala Concert","La Vie est Belle" (Life is Beautiful) "Schonbrunn", "Live in Vienna", "New York" & Efteling's "Wonderland" stand out as showing different aspects, times & the vast breadth of music & talent in the evolution of Andre, JSO & soloists. Also any of Andre's documentary DVDs are warm, charming & share so much of him, his family & home with us, and they allow us to meet JSO members (Dream Come True, My Music My Life, On the way tpo New York, Fairytale, Aussie Adventures etc. Don't forget the Christmas & New Year DVDs that are each a big party. Also there are collection packs that include a good variety such as "Best of Andre" 3 pack (La Vie est Belle, Albert Hall & A Dream come true doc that was about his family & home & fantastic), "Be my love" 5 pack (Songs from my heart, Romantic Paradise, Love around the world, Love Songs, Dream Come True doc), and "the Castle box set" that is particularly good for new collectors as it has 10 DVDs for $99 that includes Dreaming, La Vie Est Belle, Love songs, Schonbrunn, New York, Wonderland, Fairytale doc, Maastricht II, Andre on Holiday (2 DVDs- Christmas with Andre & New Year's Eve Punch), & New Years Eve in Vienna (fantastic). Your only real concern need be that you don't double up on the DVDs as every one is fantastic.

This maybe off-topic; I read on the site that some members did go to Reading; does anyone have a song list from the show?
Thank you in advance! Christina in PA

Where do you live in Pa? I live in Cornwall near Hershey. Will wait to hear from you here and then I will email you if you wish. Thanks for posting. Hugs to you. PS: Do you have your tickets for WB? PBS in Harrisburg just ran the Dresden concert this evening. Watched it in high definition - wow!

Hello Jeanine Ann! Thank you so much for responding. Please go ahead and email me privately, that sounds good -- do you have my email address if you're a moderator? Let me know.
That would be very nice to meet in WB. No; I don't have my tickets yet; as I will wait for the Ticketmaster sale. I *almost* purchased tickets to the Boardwalk Hall performance in Atlantic City today -- but I just dislike the venue so much. Last time I was there to see another performer; I told myself I would never go back there... so I'm still debating. I know that one concert will not be enough.. as I wanted to see the show again after Reading last year!
PBS out of Philadelphia showed the Dresden concert this evening as well; and I guess that's what prompted me to search and found this website!
I live west of the Philadelphia area and about 45 minutes south of Reading... so you can only imagine my delight when Andre came to Reading last year!

Hi Christina, Fantastic to have you join us. I too found this blog recently and I think you'll find it as brilliant as I do. Welcome again!! Great to hear from you and I look forward to hearing more from you!
I didn't realize you were born down here. I come from Victoria about an hour out of Melbourne
How are you enjoying life in the US. I suppose you're used to it by now. I think the States would be a fascinating place to live!
You may be interested to know that in Victoria we have had the hottest start to November in 100 years. We are in the midst of a terrible drought to say the least. Some of our dams where I live are pretty much empty. Whilst the larger dams near Melbourne are only at 37% capacity and we haven't even really got into the full swing of summer. It should be a really hot Christmas
So while you are probably freezing we are sweltering. We have been told that it will be the worst fire season we have had yet!!
Anyway must go for now as it's 3.15am and my bed is calling out for me.
I would like to hear from anybody who has done the day with Andre package. I have heard that the only time you get to be with Andre is when you have your photo taken with him. Is this just malicious and nasty gossip or is it true?
I have heard that JSO members take time to socialize quite freely and are generous with their time. I would really enjoy that as the thought of spending my time with Franco and the others sends my head spinning. But I would have thought for $1,500 AUD you would get to chat with him even for just a few minutes.
This is most definitely not an attack on Andre at all. I just wish to know as I am planning a trip to Vancouver Canada and I intend to do the day with Andre package. I am curious to know what to expect when I get there.
3 1/2 hours before the concert We expect you at the box office of the venue. You will be met by an André Rieu representative and will receive your backstage pass for that day (a real collector’s item).
Immediately upon arrival you’ll go to the concert hall and can pick a seat close to the stage, awaiting the start of the soundcheck.
3 hours before the concert The tension rises as the various members of the orchestra take their spots on stage – you have never seen them like this before, in their daily clothes. Then André comes on stage and the next twenty to 45 minutes you can see the maestro at work. He will listen to the sound from various places in the venue. All soloists will sing. It feels like a private mini-concert.
2 hours before the concert After the sound check we’ll take you backstage and you’ll have a dinner (buffet style). You’ll have plenty of time to chat with members of the orchestra and fellow fans.
1 hour before the concert You’ll receive the program book and you’ll go back to the concert hall. Or you can head to the concourse to check out the newest merchandise or to get a drink.
Showtime!
Immediatley after the concert Our representative will pick you up and bring you to the afterparty. We’ll welcome you back with a glass of champagne and our European chefs have created the most delicious snacks. Feel free to catch a glass of wine, beer, or soda.
Then it is time for the higlight of the day. You will meet André himself! Of course we’ll have a professional photographer standby to take your picture with André. We’ll print the picture right away on large format and if you lik you can get it autographed by André. There is plenty of time to talk to the members of the Orchestra, to take pictures with them and to enjoy the cheerful post concert atmosphere.
Last but not least we’ll have a few special gifts for you, which, again, André will autopgraph if you like.
You’ll leave the venue with a bag full of live-lasting memories!
Thanks for taking the time to provide me with all that info I appreciate it. I hope it didn't take up too much of your time!!
Have you ever been been to one of the meet and greets and how did you find it personally if you did?
Maybe you might be able to help me out with something else. As stated when I am on holidays next year in Vancouver I will go and see Andre. However the problem I am having is trying to buy the tickets here in Australia for the Vancouver concert.
I am at my wits end I just seem to get the run around and the one place I found that would sell me the tickets wouldn't give me a straight answer about whether they were legit. When I pressed them they said not to worry they are 100% refundable.
That's a great help when I come half way across the world and look forward to the meet and greet to only be turned away at the door because the tickets are dodgy. But should I worry NO because at least I get my money back yeah right!!

Yes, and once again, they are starting with PBS. We've got a lot of information and are collecting more. Will update you soon.
Hi Sally, Great news that he is doing a USA concert. Please say where and when. I read somewhere that he would be on PBS the 27th of November but don't know where I read it. I haven't been on here for months so have a lot to catch up.
HAPPYTHANKSGIVING TOO ALL MY FRIENDS IN THE STATES. AND TO ANDRE' WHAT A SPECIAL MAN YOU ARE AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE MEETING YOU IN JUNE ON THE 12 IN VANCOUVER AT GMPLACE.THANKS ELAINE BURCH.
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.
With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.
The fires burn

And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring.

This is one person who makes Winter bearable!
Andre as he appeared at Derby Day in Victoria, Australia
Jeanine Ann, you are hopelessly devoted aren't you?
Look what my Australian fans gave me as a goodby-present. An Opal .thanks mates, see you next year!
That's a very appropriate gift, I understand the opal is Australia's national gemstone & it's also October's birthstone.
I didn't know many Opals came from Australia until now. Interesting! I had a 'Floating Opal Chips' from my Grandfather as a child and I have an Opal Ring my Aunt Viva gave me before she passed away. Her birthday was October 4, same as mine, and I cherish the memory.
I love Opals and that one is beautiful - a gem for a "gem"
copied from a gemstone magazine:"Numerous legends and tales surround this colourful gemstone, which can be traced back in its origins to a time long before our memory, to the ancient dream time of the Australian aborigines. It is reported in their legends that the creator came down to Earth on a rainbow, in order to bring the message of peace to all the humans. And at the very spot, where his foot touched the ground, the stones became alive and started sparkling in all the colours of the rainbow. That was the birth of the Opals".
My version of the November poem:
Winter comes
and Winter goes,
I hate the cold
I hate the snows.
The fireplace glows
But not enough
To keep the days
From being rough.
I sit and wait
For glorious Spring
And all the joy
That it will bring.
For Winter will
Have gone once more,
And the Spring
Brings Andre to our shore!
Jeanine Ann
Hate is certainly a strong word
It is merely to some a regular verb
To me, it is indeed more profound
To hear this words sends a sadness sound
I love to hear words of encouragement such as:
snow, white, pure and sure.
To me winter is nature's cure:
To enhance the love of nature's season,
Makes equalibrum to the earth's reason.

Look who was at the concert yesterday in Melbourne,
beautiful Olivia Newton John and John her husband
I would like to know their take on the concert. Olivia was my dad's favorite. He thought she was the best thing since sliced bread. I always enjoyed most of her songs too. My favorite of hers was as Sandy, in the movie Grease.
I just saw a live interview with Olivia..they did not ask about the concert and she did not comment...but I am sure she would have loved it.
Today is Melbourne Cup Day in Australia and Olivia has the honour of singing the National Anthem before the race.
A great day for us Aussies.

Ah, now I understand. She was not where Andre was but he was where she was! I was thinking she had been to the concert. Andre did seem to get out & about while there, didn't he?
Thanks for the lovely photo

I would love to buy the new CD set of "I've Lost My Heart in Heidelberg", so I tried www.amazon.de to order but it is all in German. Help!
Hi Marilyn,
If you are familiar with the regular amazon, they are all the same. You can usually find what you want but if you want English copy the web address, then go to Google translate. Paste the URL into google and have it translated from German to English. The Amazon page will come up in English that will be good enough to buy the CD's. If it does not work, just post here and I will do it for you and email the page to you.
Hugs
Jeanine Ann
Thanks, Jeanine Ann, I will give it a try.
Hi Jeanine Ann,
I tried and actually got a little in English, but not the ordering part. If
you could get it for me, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Marilyn
Okay Marilyn, I will see what I get.
Marilyn, I just sent the English page to you. I hope you are set up on Amazon.de
If not, put it in your cart and you will probably get an order form. It will follow through in English as long as you keep that original page I sent. I am logging out now as it is late here in the East so we can finish tomorrow if this fails. Hugs
Hello everyone and a very happy November to you all. I hope there are many pleasant memories for everyone. A month of Thanks to many.
Nice picture of André and a beautiful Opal, interesting that it's the gemstone of Australia and the birthstone of André's. Nice.
Sally, what's "Floating Opal chips"?? Just curious.
Priceless watching André choose the clothes for the twins! He looks so happy.
And, I enjoyed the picture of Olivia Newton John, her husband and André together. She's one of my favorite female singers. I have always enjoyed her music.
Have a wonderful November everyone!

Having just recieved another Andre newsletter, announcing the release of Live In Dresden, I have a question. How is this any different than Dancing Through The Skies?
It is the same Shirley. They are just releasing it in the United States. Hugs
I came back recently from a wonderful vacation to New York City and the surrounding area. I learned a great deal about Manhattan being New Amerstadam at one time. I also learned that famous people such as Washington Irving, Mr.Chrysler, Vanderbuilts, etc. are buried in a cememtary in a real village called Sleepy Hallow. Many Dutch people lived and died in New York and it was an amazing time learning all the history of this great area.
We stayed right at Time Square and saw central park, trump towers, ground zero, the united nations, the modern wonders of the world the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building, hershey shore, m and m store, radio city music hall, nbc station, cbs station, abc station, and much much more!
so here is to New York City and the history and wonder!

Flying through the rain in a heli to Hilversum to promote my new 5 DVD box "all André".u see the rainbow?
Hi Sally, I just got your 2 DVDs, I thanked you on your e-mail address and it came back, so I want to do it here. How nice of you to think of me, but I cannot get them working, neither on my computer nor on the DVD player, the DVDs look to me like the one you sent before and that one works but not these two, only the color is different. Do I do something wrong? But thanks anyway, maybe somebody else can get them working for me?
André comes back to Montréal June 25, 2O1O and PBS went back to normal prices for the first 12 rows, also available with backstage greetings of his orchestra for 5OO.-- $ without the backstage passes 35O.-- So, I might even pledge again.
Andre will one day perform in Israel? We have great audiences here.
Hi Shirley, are you there? I was just wondering if you could answer a question for me. I am trying to locate an Andre and JSO friendship group that meet on a regular basis. As you know I live in Geelong which is about an hour out of Melbourne in Victoria. If you don't know, is there any suggestion you could provide me with as to how I could locate one. I would dearly love to meet up with some other Andre and JSO fans!!

Hi Jill, this is what I call my "Mozart Monday", listen to him most of the day.Gosh I wish I could help you with the friendship groups. I've only heard Lyndall talk about them. I'm not sure which one she belongs to but she could probably point you in the right direction. I think it's a great idea, but here in the US we are scattered so far & wide it's hard to get together. I wish you luck in finding a group, I know it would be fun.
Hi Jill, where do you live? Lyndall's group is the South Australia Friendship group. That is the best one
Okay I just re-read your post and see you live in Geelong, how far is that from Adelaide? I think that is where Lyndall's group is but not positive.
Hi Jeanine Anne thanks so much for the info but unfortunately I believe that Lyndall's group is in the state of South Australia. Where as I live in another state Victoria. Maybe someone else will read my email and be able to steer me in the right direction. I am however very grateful for your help!! Hope all is well over there. Oh my god its 4.07 am gotta go. See what Andre is doing to me sleep is becoming non existent!! See ya next time.

Someone on the blog had asked about the 5-DVD set released recently. I don't know who it was but I found this information at Hans Music Spot. In Australia the set is called "Be My Love". Hope this helps. Please note that these are previously released DVD's.
Love makes the world go round, they say. This collection includes some of the most beautiful melodies ever written and performed from the heart by André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra. The concerts and showpieces are set in some of the most romantic cities in the world - Vienna, Venice, Paris, Tuscany and André's own hometown of Maastricht.
We see the most moving moments from André's musical career and witness how touched he is when he comes home after years of concert tours to find a rapturous welcome in his own country. The collection features 5 of Andre's previously released DVDs; Songs from My Heart, Romantic Paradise, Love Around the World (Walzertraum), Love Songs and Dream Come True (documentary).
Here is music to cherish in solitude or to share with friends. Radiant sunset, soft breezes and dark, starlit skies - the perfect backdrop for an invitation to Be My Love.Just booked my tickets for 2010 , July 25, 2nd row center, they promised. First row I do not like, the dancers on my feet is not a good feeling.
Just for those who have been waiting for an NTCS Version of Andre's Maastricht 3 DVD. I sent in a query to André's Help Desk to inquire about it, and they answered that they didn't know when a NTSC version would be made. That is so disappointing as I have heard it is a good one. Maybe I will try the PAL version and see if I can play it on my computer. Oh well.
I hope we who use NTSC are not forgotten.
My player plays both, as does my computer but many people in North America only have the ability to play NTSC.
Marilyn, have you checked your player to see if it might play PAL too? There are so many that now do. I am treating myself to an all region player soon, there are some very good ones at reasonable prices.
No, but I sure will and will let you know if it does. I have a new Samsung, so we will see if it does or not.
Today, the 11th, is our Veterans Day. please take time to honor & remember those who have served & gave their lives.
Please don't forget our Veterans. They have done so much for us.
For Remembrance Day:
A short story by Heather Patterson and Ron Lightburn, both of Canada
A Poppy Is To Remember:
Once there was a long and terrible war - a war some called the Great War. Many young men went off to fight, and many did not return home to their families.
But still, in the muddy fields where they fought, wild poppies sprang up, glowing brightly.
An army officer, weary from tending the wounded, wrote a poem about that war, and about those poppies.
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely signing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fiels.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
A poppy is to remember.
The End

ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE LIVING IN THE GEELONG AREA. I am posting this because their doesn't appear to be any friendship group here in Geelong. So in order to enjoy ourselves and all things Andre and JSO I am seriously thinking about opening one up myself. At the moment there are two others that are interested who live in the Geelong area but we need more people to make it workable. If you are interested you could post here or e-mail me at day61break@hotmail.com whatever is more convenient! Anyway must go for now hopefully there will be a few more of us interested in doing this!!
REGARDS JILL GEELONG AUSTRALIA :->
Hi Shirley, Jeanine Anne and Sally how goes it over there? It is so hot over here, its going to be long hot summer. Anyway that is not why I am posting this I just had to tell you all that I received an e-mail from Mirusia the other day. I was trying to find out if she had a fan club of her own. Being SO UNLIKE ME I stuffed up and ended up writing a message on a site that I think she uses for distribution. TRUST ME!! Anyway alls well that ends well and I ended up getting a short but sweet e-mail from her. I nearly hyperventilated SERIOUSLY when I opened up my inbox and there it was THE GENUINE ARTICLE AN E-MAIL FROM HER. I couldn't talk for about two minutes. As you have probably already realised that is quite a record for me. I'll never delete it. Is'nt she great to do that!! Just a pity I couldn't do the same with Franco oh no gotta go now I'm getting to excited just thinking about him. Anyway seeya all for now will chat again soon!!!
HUGS JILL GEELONG AUSTRALIA :->
Hi, Shirley here. Seems strange, you are into summer & heat & we are into fall , although we have had some beautiful days in Novemver, actually better than Oct. I have been raking all those leaves! Isn't Mirusia the sweetest thing? When I first heard and saw her I immediately thought of Lord Byron's poem, "She Walks In Beauty". Imagine my surprise when I found out she had a new cd by that very name. I immediately went to her website to order it, when I got it in the mail she also had sent an autographed picture, and it wasn't one of those stamped on things, it was personal, "To Dan & Shirley, with love, Mirusia". She not only looks like an angel but sings like one as well.
Andre is fortunate to have her. As for Franco,ha, Jill you are hopeless! haha
Hi Shirley, oh my god it has been really hot over here in fact the hottest start to November in 100 years. Our hot summer weather usually doesn't start until we are into December. If Andre had been here now I think he would have melted!! Never mind I could have wiped his brow with a nice cool ice-pack. See I am a selfless person Shirley willing to sacrifice my time for free without any ulterior motive of getting up close and personal!!(If you believe this I can sell you a great bridge. Sydney Harbor. SORRY Couldn't RESIST). I know as the saying goes I am hopelessly devoted to Franco after all he is HOT HOT HOT!!!(oh no I have to stop thinking about him it's driving me CRAZY). However don't worry Franco has not detracted me from Andre. Is it possible to be so attracted to the two of them at the same time? (oh no what am saying I must be going mad!!). Now back to Andre I went on to his own website which was brilliant. I had heard that when he is on the road he likes to read some of the e-mails and him or one of his staff choose some to post. Well you know me I couldn't resist, it was like holding a red flag to a bull!! So I posted one and low and behold after looking for a few days there it was. Yet again he has left me speechless (hard to believe it). Well as you are probably aware of by now I am starting up a new group down here. The support and interest I have received has been fantastic and things are really starting to move along!! I have also have had offers of support from other groups which is great. I want to thank you to Shirley for being so supportive too and also Jeanine Anne. Even though an ocean separates us you have still been there for me. Can you believe it I have also had an e-mail from New Zealand saying how excited she was watching the birth of a new group. She even asked if she could join us when she visits here I naturally told her we would welcome her with open arms!! After all any fan of Andre and JSO will naturally be an honorary friend of our new group. Oh Shirley I have to admit I am a bit nervous about all this I just want everything to go perfectly and for everyone to have a great time. Of course I'm sure I will be able to sneak in a mention of Franco it wouldn't be right not to at least this is my excuse!! Although naturally Andre and his concerts will be the main source of conversation. Anyway must go for now lunch and of course housework are demanding my attention (oh no it never ends). Oh yeah, before I forget my daugter finishes her exams in a couple of days so I will get those photos to you ASAP PROMISE!!
LOTS OF HUGS JILL GEELONG AUSTRALIA
SEE YA JEANINE ANNE TOO (will post soon)
HI SALLY
Oh Jill, you make me laugh!Actually I've been offered the Brooklyn Bridge before but I never bought it either.
Hi Jill, weather wise we are terrible here. You have it nice and hot which I love and we have cloudy, gloomy and cold - 40's, 50's and it will only get worse.
So glad you got an email from Mirusia. It is too bad you don't get more excited about it : ) Now an email from ANDRE now that I would hyperventilate over if I lived long enough. You seem to be a lot like me. We get excited over the big things in life. I am relieved though that you are so crazy about Franco, that takes some of the pressure off of Andre, he cannot take too much with gals like me being so crazy over him! : ) I am going to go through all my photos and I will send all my Franco photos to you.
I am on the opposite side of the States, and our weather is wonderful. Today was perfect for me. It was bright and sunny, not hot, not cold, but I wore a short sleeve shirt, and Capri pants. We are however at the end of our tomato time, I have only a few left to pick. It is said to be getting cold and wet for next week, so we'll see..
Franco is very approachable. You'll find him walking around outside before a concert. He likes to get some air and take in the views. Nice man.
Hi Sally, just read your post and the bit about Franco thats great to hear. I'll have to keep that in mind for next time. It would be great to catch up with him like that if he didn't mind. I would however be mindful that first and foremost the concert would be on his mind and he may need the solitude!! Hope everything is good with you.
HUGS JILL GEELONG VICTORIA AUSTRALIA
Jill, you would not believe it, but when Marlene & I were in Seattle, walking out side the venue prior to the concert, there were maybe 100 fans there already, just strolling around as we were. Who should come walking up to us, after passing 35 people who did not recognize him... Franco! How anyone can miss Franco I do not understand. He certainly stands out! So we talked a did a photo, then went on our way.
We said hello and visited then left him to go on his walk... some other car pulled up and thinking he was the parking attendant, asked him where to park there car! We saw Gary a little later and relayed that story to us. ... Now really.. to look at Gary if you don't know him.. you can tell he is intelligent and creative... I would guess something like Architect or Engineer ... but parking attendant? Well, we all laughed with Gary as we wondered what the people would think when they saw him on stage as one of the stars of the show!
Hi Sally, oh my god to run into Franco like that I don't know if I could control myself if you know what I mean!! Then to run into Cord who incidentally is pretty hot!! Not quite in Franco's league but very easy on the eye!!!! I'm suitably jealous. I think it's hysterical the story about Gary fancy being mistaken for a parking attendant!! I'm so glad you had the chance to tell Gary about it. I can just imagine how funny he found it. Us Aussies do share a pretty good sense of humor and enjoy things like that, we're generally fairly laid back. I'm with you the shock of them seeing him on stage would have been brilliant to see!!! Can you imagine it they see him on stage and realise they had actually asked one of the stars of the show where to park their car. Imagine if they had thrown the car keys at him and said park the car please my good man and walked off!! Thanks for telling me I was jealous at the start of your post and then I had a good ol fashioned laugh. THANKS FOR THAT I ENJOYED IT.
LOOK FORWARD TO CHAT WITH YOU SOON

You are right Sally, and it was very nice seeing so many members of the JSO just walking about in Seattle.
Out of the seven André concerts I've been to I've seen Franco and Bela probably 5 times. I've talked with both, briefly. Franco, I've met most of the time. He's always very nice and always has a great smile. I never try to take their time away from them, so I just shake their hands and say hello.

I see all these write ups for new DVD's and wonder when we will be able to get them in the US? Seems like they used to come out in both formats, and be available from the Boutique. Although I can play PAL, I prefer the other. Is anyone else getting anxious to get these new DVD's?
I also want to wish all the fans and their families a very Happy Holiday Season!!
Hello, Marilyn B.
Yes, absolutely, I have been waiting for Maastricht III in NTSC, so finally I wrote Andre's Help Desk and they said
that they didn't know when the NTSC version was going to come out!!!! So I did order the PAL version and hope that it plays on my Computer or new DVD player. I hope we in the US and Canada are not forgotten! I would love to get it as a present for my friend, but she can't play PAL versions on either her computer ( which is an older one), or her DVD player. I am really wanting to get the Heidelberg concert (I Left My Heart in Heidelberg), so am keeping my fingers crossed for an NTSC version.
Maybe we need to apply a little pressure in the form of letters to the Help Desk.
Hi Marilyn S. I was just about to write the Help Desk when I saw your entry here. I do hope some time soon we will get our "version" of all the DVD's.
Did you go to the Holiday Food and Gift Show this year? I did not go, but good friends Charles and Jeannine Suniga were there. Our model train club was there as well.
Oh, and yes the Heidelberg is on my list too, as well as the 5 part DVD he is just releasing. (Dear Santa....)
Take care.
Just finished watching with my hubby, Maastricht III, never cared for Michael Jackson, but I must say, André picked the nicest compositions of him, was quite moving. I guess M.Jackson was a genius, I just could not stand his life style, I thought of him more as a nut case, only as child he was hilarious.- Heino is about my age and I think he could stay home, was astounded that the younger people still reacted so enthusiastic towards him. - Carla made the Olympia still funnier and Carmen sang that song from Michael Jackson super, he could be proud of it.
Marseille, the beginning of our French tour. My brother Robert is cellist in the Opera here.
All Fans!!
I've Lost My Heart In Heidelberg is now available to order in Andre's boutique. PAL version only.
Hi Jeanine Anne, what a hot photo doesn't he look "fantastic" (as Andre would say). Wish I was there!! There's only one crucial thing missing otherwise the photo would be perfect. Yep you guessed it FRANCO, sorry I can't help myself!!

Hi Shirley,
Hope your having a RIEUlly great day!! Check out the photos of Andre above they certainly are brilliant!!!! But what about Franco he needs some more exposure don't you agree!!!!! Perhaps one of Andre and Franco wouldn't that be a sight to behold!!
Hi Jill, would I guess you really like Franco?
Especially for Jill (Geelong), Hello to everyone else.
I haven't been to this site for a while so I was happy to find out about Jill's Group.
I live in Hampton Park which is about 40 km from Melbourne near Dandenong. I'd love to hear more about the Fan Club. Max
Hi there Maxine(Max),
I was thrilled to see your post re our new Geelong Andre Rieu Friendship Group.

Isn't this a fantastic picture?! I love that André shares what he's doing.
Hi Marlene,
Andre seems to care more about his fans than other performer. He provides us with his own website, reads some of our e-mails and then takes the time to twitter us. Andre would be one of the few if not the only well known performer to do the m & g's. He cares about his fans and is determined to give us the time of our lives going to his concerts, meeting him or simply just watching/listening to his music. Could it get any better??

Hi everyone.
I've been away on holidays for the last three weeks and missed being able to check out what's happening on the blog each day. I was hoping to find a photo of the twins waiting - has one been released yet? We saw Ivan when he was so new.
I was surprised to find another Jill writing in - Hi Jill from Geelong. You sound like you've been very busy getting the new group going, that's a great idea. Good luck with it, hope you find lots of members. I'm in central west NSW unfortunately, so too far away to come along.
Hi Jill,
It's Jill from Geelong here. It's great to meet another Jill. Great name you've got Hey!!! Sorry you live so far away it would have RIEUlly good to have another Jill join us. Hi again Jill, wondered where you were! as you see we now have another Jill, who at first I thought was you.
Hello Shirley - and thanks.
I've had a look at the beautiful twins. They don't look identical, do they? Andre's three grandchildren all have such strong features. They already look 'special'.
I love the Ode to St Cecilia you posted.
I went to my class from school's 50th year reunion while I've been away and was really amazed at how much I enjoyed it. I didn't want to go but got talked into it. All things considered I thought everyone looked pretty good !!
Hi Jill, 50 yr reunion, that should be interesting, just to see how many you still recognize. Time seems to be kinder to some doesn't it? I still see some of the friends I went to school with & we don't think we've changed at all.
At first I was very pleased everyone was wearing name tags but after a minute or two the years just rolled away and the personalities were just the same. No-one had really changed and everyone had a story to tell.
We only have one teacher still alive - she taught us French and, as a teenager, I thought she was such a romantic person - she was a very petite, pretty, lady and lived on a pink houseboat that looked like an iced cake. She arrived at our reunion in a beautiful blue outfit and white hat, gloves and pearls. So even she hadn't changed.

Ode for St.Cecilia's Day is a cantata composed by George Frideric Handel in 1739.The premiere was on November 22,1739 at the Theatre in Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.
" What passion cannot music raise, and quell?
When Jubal struck the chorded shell,
His listening brethren stood 'round.
And wondering on their faces fell,
To worship that celestial sound!
Less than a god they thought there could not dwell
Within the hollow of that shell
That spoke so sweetly and so well.
What passion cannot Music raise and quell"?

Good morning Jill
I think I should sign myself Jill B to make it easier for people to recognise who's talking.
Of course I like Franko. I like everyone in the JSO. I really enjoy watching for the different ones on each DVD. They're all beautiful.
November 23,1903-
"Tenor Enrico Caruso sings for the first time with the Metropolitan Opera. His performance in Verdi's Rigoletto was so successful that he remained with the Met for the rest of his career. He would sing a total of 607 performances with the Met, the last occuring on December 24th,1920".Enrico Caruso is resonsible for my love of opera & classical music.
Hi Jill B,
How are you this fine arvo!! It's great to hear from you again. What a great idea to sign Jill B I'll make sure that I always use Jill from Geelong that should help out everyone. I even got caught out the other day. I was looking at the new posts and saw one written by you. For a moment I thought hang on I didn't go to a reunion then it clicked and I had a good laugh. As for Franco come on Jill he's the hottest of them all in JSO. His incredible smile no, no, no I won't get started. I think that the word HOT sums him up adequately. Anyway must go for now!!

Hey Shirley,
Guess what I finally got my wireless broad band it only took two hours to work out where to insert the modem!!! Then it took about another two to install the program, can you believe it. Don't answer that hmm. Oh yeah in between yelling at one of the tech support guys over the phone telling him he was useless. However guess what it wasn't him it was all me oh no. You wouldn't believe it when Alex got home from school naturally she wanted it so she could escape into her room. I quickly removed the modem and said I bet you can't work out to put it in. It took her a total of three seconds and only a matter of minutes to install the program. You think I was embarrassed you betcha!!!! See ya.

Sending all fans a Wonderful Happy Happy
Thanksgiving (if your celerbrating) the day. This year I have volunteered my services for the entire day to help make
and serve the so-many homeless people in our area. What with all these hard times, I feel this is just a little bit I can offer those less fortunate than myself. I am catching up on "all" the new 'news' and photo's. W-o-w- it's been a while sine I chimed in. Miss you all - will jump in again after this Thanks-Giving project. Ah, just had to add, Andre looks wonderful and proud as he takes the twins for a spin.
Hi Judith,
Happy Thanksgiving.I think that's it's a wonderful and generous thing to do to help out the homeless people where you live. If everyone did this around the world what great place it would be. A fair while ago I was at the train station on my way home and a homeless person approached me and asked me for some money for cigarettes. I said have you eaten he said no. I said well come with me and we'll have something to eat and then I'll buy you some cigarettes. We sat down over a nice meal and chatted for about an hour. He had been through a very tough time!! I then bought him the cigarettes and got him to choose what he might like for breaky the next morning and I made the arrangement with the owner and paid him. We said our goodbyes and off he went. It was the best day and date I have ever had. Everyone should do their bit for our homeless people after all you know what they say "there for the grace of god go I".
CHEERS JILL GEELONG AUSTRALIA
Hi again Judith, I think it's wonderful that you have chosen to spend your Thanksgiving Day serving others. I believe that's in the true spirit of the day. I also want to wish everyone a beautiful day of counting your blessings as you gather together with family & friends on this Thanksgiving Day.
Pretty good, except: Ich sah einen Teil davon u. ich bin gespannt auf den Rest der DVD. But very good to understand.
A wish to all of those who celebrate, a Very Happy Thanksgiving day tomorrow!
I hope your day is peaceful and happy.
Judith, my best to you for your works in helping the homeless. I hope your day is as beautiful as you make it for others.
Tomorrow is a rare moment that I have a day off, so I'm going to take advantage of it as much as I can. Dinner will be cooked by my brother.
Life is good in so many ways, may we all be thankful for the good things, thankful for the friendships we all share and thankful for our blessings.
A very Happy Thanksgiving to all my wonderful friends on the blog. I hope you have a beautiful day celebrating with friends and family. Big Hugs to all.
Happy Thankgiving to you all. I'm sure you're going to have a wonderful day Judith. What a nice thing you are doing.
Happy Thanksgiving To all
A time to remember, a time to share
If you have been blessed then pass it on.
An "attitude of gratitude", not just for today
but every day. I'm especially thankful for
my family and friends. They are the energy of my life.
Happy thanksgiving to all

The following is a short letter from Lyndall Freeman of the South Australia Friendship Group. I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag so to speak but Lyndall went on a short trip last weekend after her surgery because her daughter was expecting a baby! We wish the very best to our latest Grandmum.

Congratulations on Ella's arrival Lyndall.
Have you noticed how something good always happens after something awful?
I hope you'll be feeling much stronger soon. Best wishes.
Happy for you new "nanna"! Just rest for a bit & you'll be good as new.
Hi Lyndall,
What a wonderful gift after such a difficult time you've had lately. Now you have another thing in common with Andre, a granddaughter to cherish. I'm sure with you as her nanna it won't be too long before you introduce her to Andre's music and the joy it brings!! Don't forget to rest and take it easy.

Hi to all Andre's American fans,
Hope you have a fantastic and happy thanks giving day!!
JILL AUSTRALIA
Hi Jill, we enjoyed our day very much .I was lazy this year so we made reservations for us & our daughter & new husband & his brother & newly retired father. Ate at a local place called "Granny's", has a really great buffet. After our meal everyone but Dan & I went to see a movie,we came back home to relax & eat pumpkin pie later. I had made the pie earlier because I'm always too full for dessert right after a meal. It really tasted good much later in the day. I guess just about everybody but us is out shopping on this "Black Friday" day. Won't catch me at a mall or shopping the day after Thanksgiving! We're due for a nice sunny day today so may see what I can drag out of the storage shed for Christmas decorations. I may just go with a Charlie Brown Christmas tree this year.
We would love to hear a CD of Susan Boyle with your orchestra *Andre Rieu & JSO* especialy her song I Dreamed a Dream.
For Andre: After listening to your dvds countless times, we love the music of Strauss and your selections, however, as a suggestion... could you please include some of the ballet music such as DeLibes, Coppelia, some of the famous works of Tchaicovsky (nutcracker, swan lake), maybe some Faust and Gizzele? Just to name a few. These are all beautiful music that would complement the Strauss orchestra.
This is what I am wearing when I dance for Andre next June. What some people will do for a hug!! Too bad it probably will not work.
Hi Jeanine Anne,
Truly inspiring can I have one!!! However have you thought of another one for special effect. Something like this 'Hug a soprano or tenor and reach new heights'!! What do you think? I know it's probably a bit tragic but that's me desperate when it comes to all things Andre and JSO. I'll have to think of something inspired for Franco. You know I couldn't leave him out DON'T YOU Jeanine Anne!!!

To Jill from Geelong. We watched the Heidelberg DVD last night - guess who features? Yep, your are correct - Franco. The DVD was wonderful - so different.
Hi Helen,
Thanks heaps for letting me know about the Heidelberg DVD. Oh my god to have Franco feature on this is a dream come true. Andre, Franco and JSO who could ask for more!! Could you also please tell me if Suzan, Mirusia, Carmen or the Platin Tenors appear. Also could you please tell me the full title of the DVD or is it that. It's just that a family member is going to buy me one of Andre's DVD's for Chrissy. They are novices when it comes to Andre can you believe it!! I am so grateful for your info I can't wait to see it!!!
CHEERS JILL GEELONG AUSTRALIA
Hi Helen,
Thank you so much for this info. This DVD sounds absolutely perfect and just what I am looking for.
I can't wait to see Mirusia with the credit card and Frank and Marcel, that sounds so funny. From what you have mentioned it would seem to have everything in it that I want.
Have you seen any of the Aussie DVD's if so could you recommend any particular one or perhaps another Andre DVD that would be similar to the Heidelberg one.
Once again Helen thank you I think others are going to buy me Andre DVD's so I am going to have a very merry Andre Christmas. What more could anyone ask for!!

JILL GEELONG AUSTRALIA
Hi Shirley,
I'm so pleased you had such a wonderful thanks giving day. Celebrating with all your family must have made it extra special. You probably did the right thing in avoiding the 'Black Friday' sales. We have a huge shopping day on what we call Boxing Day which is the day after Christmas day. Can you imagine the day after why would you want to!! It's insane with every man and their dog in search of the ultimate bargain!! People gather around the department stores doors to race in when they open up. It's like 'the charge of the light brigade'. Every man, woman and child for themselves. I would rather sell my soul than go!! Well maybe that's just a bit over dramatic but you get the picture. Now come on Shirley forget what you call the Charlie Brown tree as you call it. It just won't do!! After you read this grab your tree and the decorations bring them inside. Go straight to the kitchen make yourself a hot chocolate (or something stronger if you like) put on one of Andre's d.v.d's and start decorating. I won't tolerate the thought of you and that Charlie Brown thing' so lift your game girl. Be inspired, I'm sure that Andre has an incredible Chrissy tree so if he can do it I'm sure you can manage it too. Come on Shirley, just remember the elves are out and about looking for those who are not in the spirit. Hang on that's whether your naughty or nice. Good luck to you and a very Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

Hi ya Shirley,
When I read your post I was laughing so much I had tears rolling down my face!! I could just picture you going down to that dumb shed, getting out the dumb tree, dragging it up to the dumb house and getting out the dumb ladder just so you could put that dumb angel on top of that dumb tree along with those dumb lights and getting ready to finish decorating the dumb thing tomorrow!! Am I happy now, you betcha. Oh Shirley I'm so sorry that you are so sore as a result of doing all those dumb things. My heart goes out to you!!! Am I happy now? Hello -- just found this website
This maybe off-topic; I read on the site that some members did go to Reading; does anyone have a song list from the show?
Thank you in advance!
Christina in PA
Hi Christina, I was in Reading also in April. I am also going to Wilkes-Barre next year. I think I have the program and will list the songs here for you. It would be nice if we could meet in WB next year. I will email you privately if that is okay with you.
Hi Christina,
Fantastic to have you join us. I too found this blog recently and I think you'll find it as brilliant as I do. The people here are the friendliest and always ready to answer any questions. It truly is the best website in the world. I'm sure you will enjoy this site and don't forget to post regularly I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Hello Jill!
Thank you so much. I was reading alot of the blogs prior to posting and found it quite friendly.
I was born in Australia, lived there until I was 8 years old.. then my family immigrated to the US. I lived in Newcastle, NSW.
Thanks again for the welcome!

Hi Christina,
Welcome again!!

HELP ANYONE!!! (A DAY WITH ANDRE)
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Hi Jill, here is what will happen!! hope u like it!
take care
Jeff
3 1/2 hours before the concert
We expect you at the box office of the venue. You will be met by an André Rieu representative and will receive your backstage pass for that day (a real collector’s item).
Immediately upon arrival you’ll go to the concert hall and can pick a seat close to the stage, awaiting the start of the soundcheck.
3 hours before the concert
The tension rises as the various members of the orchestra take their spots on stage – you have never seen them like this before, in their daily clothes.
Then André comes on stage and the next twenty to 45 minutes you can see the maestro at work. He will listen to the sound from various places in the venue.
All soloists will sing. It feels like a private mini-concert.
2 hours before the concert
After the sound check we’ll take you backstage and you’ll have a dinner (buffet style). You’ll have plenty of time to chat with members of the orchestra and fellow fans.
1 hour before the concert
You’ll receive the program book and you’ll go back to the concert hall. Or you can head to the concourse to check out the newest merchandise or to get a drink.
Showtime!
Immediatley after the concert
Our representative will pick you up and bring you to the afterparty.
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for taking the time to provide me with all that info I appreciate it.
THANKS SEE YA JEFF

Hey Jill,
Can i have your direct email, so we can go back and forth on that with the tickets, i will help you look up stuff for buying them. If you dont feel comfortable with that, thats fine, we can do it on here, it just makes it easier that way! Thanks
take care
Jeff
