Andrea congratulates André Rieu on his 60th Birthday

Andre Rieu is 60 and he celebrates with us. Andrea met André Rieu for an exclusive interview. Andre recalls for us his childhood and youth, looks back to the beginnings of his career, and he speaks of the difficulties he had to struggle with and the role of his wife (Marjorie) in his life. Andrea also visited Andre's hometown of Maastricht, and his favorite places in the city.

  Above Andre is talking about his 3 Grandbabies and he shows Andrea a photo of Ivan he keeps on his mobile phone.

Andrea brought us a wonderful special.  She is a good interviewer, speaking of interesting things.  She allows Andre time to tell us of his musical beginnings, as well as to bring us up to date on his 3 Grandchildren.

This show also featured C. Hans-Karl Schmidt, Andre's Master Bow Maker and Lucas Wecker a young violinist and fan of Andre's - a name to remember as we will be seeing more of him in the years to come.

    This Lucas Wecker is a very talented young violinist. I have seen some videos of him playing in the 2008 supertalent show in Germany.
    He was only 12 at the time. He is German born & started violin instruction at the age of five.  He has already won several awards. He is an exceptional musician.
