Maastricht – There is a new website to come.  This is the link:

The site is about the known and the less known of Maastricht.  One warning: The site is in dialect, so it will be difficult to read for those who do not speak & read dialect, but it is definitely worth a visit.

Maastricht reaches the news regularly.  The name that then emerges is usually that of Mayor Gerd Leers.  There is one name that has become known much more.  His name is linked to Maastricht, as is his music.  Of course, this is the world famous Andre Rieu.

The webmaster himself wanted to know more about the famous and familiar of Maastricht.  That was easier said than done.  Eventually he took the decision to build his own website.  Over 30 people are now described.  There are actors and the big industrialists, those famous in the city and beyond.

Andre Rieu has been mentioned, and Benny Neyman comes soon to the site.  Pieke Dassen is on the site.  He became a TV celebrity in austust when the children’s program “De film van Ome Willem”, (The film of Uncle William). There is also such Minckeleers , the inventor of the “combustible air’ as he calls himself.  Petrus Tegout is described.  He is the founder of the current Sphnix. 

The site is very informative.  This site is for every Major Maastrichteer to have a place of honor.  The webmaster sill has more to come.
