Andre Rieu SA Friendship Group - Letter From Lyndall

Hello everyone
I know I tend to refer back on numerous occasions to Rob and my trip
to
Toronto in 2007 and do so again, but for a much different reason.
When I first became involved with promoting André in Australia,
beginning at Easter time 2007, I started hearing from fans all around
the world. It soon became apparent not only how big, but how closely
knit the André family was.
When DaVinci painted the last stroke on the '/Mona Lisa/' or Strauss
wrote the last note on '/The Blue Danube/' something that was so
familiar to them became personal when they signed their name to it.
Meeting so many people at the Renaissance Hotel Toronto, in many
ways,
felt the same way. Having been in regular contact with these lovely
people over many months, their names and many details of their lives
was
familiar, but putting names to faces, finally made it personal.
Many of you will have been in the same position. When you meet someone
at
a concert, with whom you have corresponded with by email, or
'chatted'
with on websites, regardless of whether it's in your own state,
another
country, or for a large number of you, when making the pilgrimage to
Maastricht, the familar becomes the personal and another piece of
the
Andrè Rieu extended family puzzle is put into place.
Why all this psychological musing? Over the past week, I have had my
life put on hold as I awaited surgery on Monday. Facing the unkown, I
wrote to you on Sunday to say my Au'revoir's, not knowing if or when
I'd
be with you again. When I read the responses of you dear readers
yesterday, I was reduced to tears. I have had the pleasure of meeting
2
of you; Jeanine in Toronto and Susan in Adelaide last year and yet
all
of you had taken my plight and responded in the same positive and
extremely beautiful way.
Thank you does not come close to what I would like to say to each and
everyone of you, for your words of concern and comfort.
In reality, we are strangers, yet in so many ways we are part of the
same family group. We share the same love of Andrè and the JSO. Each
time we write into this, or any other of his sites, we share a bit
more
of our lives to each other. We bare our souls and hearts, as we put
to
print our thoughts after a concert or read a bit of news about The
Great
Man. How excited we were to hear of the marraige of Pierre and the
birth
of the Grandchildren. How we shed a tear when we read of the passing
of
Benny Neyman.
Today as I say thank you to you, as a member of this wonderful,
extended family, I also bare my soul one more time and beg you all to
take note. 7 weeks ago, I found a small lump in the genital area.
This
is very rare, with only 6 operations done in this area a year. Today,
I
found out it was malignant cancer, but because I'd found it so early
and
acted on it immediately, it was superficial and it was removed not
only
cleanly, but I will need no further treatment. I see the oncologist in
2
weeks for a follow up, but after he rang me today with the results,
he
has put me at ease for the first time in all these weeks So please,
all
of you, my Andrè family, please, please, be dilligent. Do not put off
till tomorrow, what you can do today, or there may not be too many
more
tomorrows.
Andrè is so health concious. We, as his 'children', should follow his
lead.
My special love and thanks to Jeanine and Sally, for their constinual
support, in what has been a trying and terrifying time for both Rob and
me.
Love to you all
Lyndall

Lyndall, I am so happy for you. As a cancer survivor myself, I know the anxiety you must have gone through, and the relief you now feel. You are right, live each day as if it's your last one because you never know when it will be. I think many of us have gone through times of testing in this last year or two & I know how much more we have to be thankful for this year.
You are a plucky lady anyway. I remember when you first starting writing in Andre's guestbook, begging him to come to Australia & I think you were one of the first. You Aussies have done a fantastic job of helping to promote Andre. I still have to watch the last dvd made in Sydney but I'll get around to it. I'm way behind on some already.
Well Lynn, here's wishing you the best always.

The power of Andre's JSO has been spread around the world and I believe that his message of love and healing and joy has been the best thing that could happen to all of us in these troubled world times. Best Wishes from Anne, in Perth Western Australia.

This is the BEST news. I can relate to it, as I have also had cancer and survived. Mine was in Nov. 1984, and I was fortunate not to need further treatment also. I did have five years of follow ups, as I was in a 20 year study. I love you, and hope you & Rob can relax and enjoy your lives.
Susan.

Dear Lyndall, I was thrilled to hear your fantastic news. All of us have been waiting and praying for good news and it would seem our prayers have been answered!!! It is sensational that no further treatment is required, so now we can all breathe a sigh of relief, finally!! Please Lyndall also remember to take time for yourself to recover from the emotional trauma that things like this can cause. Be kind and gentle to yourself and let others in to help you as you embark on this new phase of your journey. You were so right that we should never put off what we can do today till tomorrow. Especially when it involves our health. Andre certainly wouldn't. I'm sure Andre would be so proud of you for being so pro-active.!! Even though he jokes about his health on stage you get the very real sense that this is a issue which he takes extremely seriously!! Finally Lyndall take care and treat yourself to a bit of a celebration god knows you've certainly earned it!! WELL DONE

Your letter touched my heart in many ways Lyndall. I so much enjoyed what you said about finally meeting those we have only heard, or shared emails, wrote letters, or otherwise communicated with, without actually meeting them. It's truly an amazing moment when we actually do meet them in person. It was the same for me when I attended an André concert for the first time.
The thrill of both, is a fantastic moment.
The same goes for when our "extended family" needs prayers or good thoughts, for a health situation as yours was. there seems to be an "energy" we've built up in this "group" of people that goes out to all who are a part of it.
When there is a collective action that takes place, so much can be accomplished.
I'm so happy for your wonderful news Lyndall. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Lyndall, the best thing of all is you are getting better. And .. Nana got to share her love with a precious sweet baby!
It is your time to rest and recover, take it easy and let others take care of you as you build your super strength back up.
