Christmas comes early this year for fans of one of the world's most popular performers: André Rieu will be touring South Africa for the first time!
André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra will kick off their South African tour at the Sun City Super Bowl on 24 April 2010 and will be staging shows in Durban and Cape Town.
Known as the King of Waltz, André performs in sold-out venues all over the world, and is the Number One Selling male performer of 2009.
The chart-topping Dutch violinist and conductor has sold close to 30 million albums globally,and has broken all classical concert records, packing stadiums with over 700,000 adoring fans each year. André Rieu is renowned for the uplifting and festive atmosphere at his concerts, as he encourages his audience to get out of their seats and waltz in the aisles.

Hi! I am so full of excitement to know that Andre is actually coming to South Africa!! AND to get to know all of you wonderful fans of Andre!! My name is Sonja and my birthday is May 13th 1958. I was originally born in what was then known as Northern Rhodesia - now Zambia. My dad is Dutch, mother S.African, my twin sisters were also born in Zambia and my young brother was born in New Zealand!! But we are all moved to SA in 1970 and are proud S.Africans!! Welcome to South Africa, Andre. Marjorie who is very prominent behind the scenes manages to remain a total mystery ,appearancewise. We are guessing she plays the cello or a clarinet .Would very much like to obtain a copy of your biography written by Marjorie but appears it is out of print. We will be seeking copy of the childrens book just released once it hits our shores . Your shows provide the greatest emotional contentment , a haven of peace . In my 75years I have not been lifted to such fulfilment as when watching your DVD's. Thank you for this .

This is something we have really been wishing for, Andre performing live in South Africa. Your music is an inspiration and, as you have said so many times, it is pure energy. We certainly cant wait to experience your show in Durban, even my children are looking forward to it. Many Thanks to you and your Orchestra for your music, it is not just sound, it is an experience. The fulfillment of a longing dream to come true! Have every one of your dvds in my collection and thought that I would have to travel to Europe to experience a concert in person. Even my grandchildren pick up your dvds in shops to show me as they recognize your picture. I have converted many people to love your music and feel a part of your family - music family. I can't wait for Andre's concerts in SA! i have already bought tickets for the Sun City concert and hope to save enough money so I can attend oneof the overseas concerts too!! Big fan! See you in April 2010. This is the best thing that couldhappen to the people of South Africa!
