To André, JSO, and family, and all friends and fans around the world, wishing all of you a very Happy New Year!!! May it be healthy, happy and prosperous for you.
It's amazing how fast the last ten years have gone, and so much has happened, personally and in the world as well. We cannot change the past of course, however, the future is ours for the making...let us build a future of happiness and good will toward others, including ourselves. Sometimes we are pretty critical of ourselves and when we fail at something we sort of give up and leave behind our goals for a better life. We should never give up.
Every year I set myself some goals and I never get them accomplished, but I'm quite determined to fulfill all my dreams and actually live up to my expectations this year.
Thanks for listening. I wish you all lots of happiness. And may André's music always be in your heart and soul!
At the sound of the tolling midnight bell a brand new year will begin. Let's raise our hopes in a confidant toast, to the promise it ushers in.
May your battles be few, your pleasure many, your wishes and dreams fulfilled. May your confidence stand in the face of loss and give you the strength to rebuild.
May peace of heart fill all your days may serenity grace your soul. May tranquil moments bless your life and keep your spirit whole.

I just finished the Live In Sydney concert today and it was wonderful. Great music and a lot of good closeups of Andre : ) But I wanted to tell you about Heidelberg. I thought of you when I saw Mirusia sing about the two Italians. I know you like Franco and he and Vincenzo were interacting with Mirusia during the song. It was cute and you will surely like it.
The concert was beautiful with all the lovely scenery. Heidelberg is so gorgeous and certainly a place I would love to see one of these days. They must have had my favorite photographer there because there were many good closeups of Andre. (well we all have our obsessions) : ) The only thing I did not care for in the concert was the Berlin harmonics group (sorry I forget the name) and that is just a personal preference. I like choral groups but not the barbershop quartet type. There are probably many who liked them so please do not be swayed by my impression. The Drinking Song from The Student Prince sung by the Platin Tenors was for me one of the highlights of the concert. I saw that movie many times and just loved it.
I thought the Sydney concert was better than Heidelberg. It was certainly longer at 2 hours 10 minutes. I was very curious about the controversial Dame Edna and I found her/him to be very funny and Andre was really having a good time with her. In my opinion the remarks he/she made were not crude, just suggestive, and most probably would have gone over the heads, so to speak, of all the children. Her Grandson is a very talented boy on the violin and I think he has a good future as a violinist. Dame Edna's act was a little too long; would I like to see her/him again - no but it did not take anything away from Andre's concert. He has such a good sense of humor and to have an act like this once is a while is fine. I think she is pretty popular in Australia. Oh, wanted to mention the beautiful scenery during Intermezzo Sinfonico with some nice closeups of Andre. Did I mention I love those closeups? : )
So overall both concerts were beautiful each in their own way. You will love both of them. I hope this gives you a little preview Jill and everyone who did not see the concerts. Jill I hope you get your copy soon. Big Hugs

Hi all Had to have a chuckle to myself tonight, as I read a report from Ben Leach (Telegraph.co.uk) who was reporting on the success of Andre's album "Forever Vienna" in the UK. It has overtaken Susan Boyles wonderful album and is no. 1 on the Classical chart. The reason for the chuckle was Mr Leach's calling Andre "the world's best kept secret". Huh? It appears as though the Mother country is finally coming out of the Dark Ages. I was told a couple of years ago, by an ex-pat, that he rang the BBC to find out why Andre hasn't been brought back to the UK. The answer. Because he's not popular enough. Perhaps since the "worlds best kept secret appeared on the Royal Variety concert they might just invite him to come back with open arms. Anyway for Andre's dvd to hit the number one he certainly is not too much of a secret for a lot of Brits. Come on Brits your buying his dvd which is fantastic but you really have to see this man live to truly capture his sheer and utter genius. An Andre concert is something that has to be experienced it just blows your mind!! JILL GEELONG AUSTRALIA ) Reply to this

True, he is more well known than a few years ago, but still there are many who haven't heard him. That's why they are always surprised when they do & they wonder why they hadn't heard. It's all in the publicity. I suspect that after the Royal Variety Performance people not only heard, but saw, and they liked! Good publicity! Any time I have loaned a dvd to a friend, or actually gave them one, they have all said the same thing, "this guy is great, how come I haven't heard of him before"? Same thing I said when I first heard. And a lot of people may see him on our PBS channel but still don't know he does concerts here in the USA. Isn't that a bummer! The name of the game is PUBLICITY. Hi girls I thought Celine crucified my most favourite Strauss song "The Nun's Chorus" or choir as Andre calls it. Her diction was dreadful. Probably many would disagree with me, but as it's been my favourite for many, many years (my kids know that it's to be played at my funeral) I thought I'd just air my opinions. Lyndall Reply to this

Thank You Sally...I could not quite work out where this thread was supposed to be going. Suzan had had 10 good years with Andre's organisation coming up from the chorus. As far back as Radio City, when Suzan was still with Pierre, she was talking about a direction change, and that was with both Pierre's and Andre's blessing. Nothing is ever forever and eventually we will see Carmen and Mirusia both move on, and the Tenors as well, that is just how it works. Carla still comes back from time to time but she too is doing what she wants to do at the moment. If the Artists, Andre and the JSO did not continually evolve it would soon become very "old hat". Like Sally says....Suzan is where she is at the moment with her husband and doing what she wants to by her own choice. I was lucky enough to see one of Suzans last appearances with Andre in Brisbane and there was certainly no problems there. I don't know when...or indeed..if ever...we will see Suzan on the big stage again. Her and Mitch may decide to start a family and "live happily ever after" in Norway....that is entirely their business and good luck to her whatever she does. Suzan has certainly brought many hours of pleasure to countless thousands of fans over a long period and has certainly earned the right to a bit of "timeout". Reply to this

There are 16 members to the choir in those 2 numbers, all are dressed in white gowns. It is impossible to identify which person is which on the DVD because the camera never showed any good close up.
I have confirmed just a few days ago, that Carmen, Carla, & Suzan, along with Heidi, Nicolle, & Resie are all part of that choir. Resie is the only one that can be identified positively.
2000 is the year the 3 soprano soloists first met each other.
The choir toured with the JSO all during 2000 - 2001 when Andre decided to dissolve the choir. No choir appeared in the Royal Albert Hall DVD. Waltzertraum a choir again appeared, 7 all dressed in white, & merely swayed back & forth.
Since that time, Andre has incorporated the role of the choir to be as important as the musicians in the JSO.

Andre seems to prefer to pick his soprano soloists, from the choir
Kalki & Laura, are both in the choir & both, at different times have been pulled & put out in front of the orchestra as soprano soloists.
It's possible, some future soprano soloist will be pulled out of the choir.

After reading your interesting tidbit of information about Kelly God being the unseen vocal in Lost Heros - Live in Dublin DVD, part of the BONUS track; I was able to listen to the #3 Lost Heros & for the very first time was able to visualize the face belonging to the very beautiful voice.
Kelly has a lot of JSO musician friends on Facebook.
What you really did, Gary, was to cause me to realize I'd completely overlooked all of the BONUS tracks on all of the DVD's, which means, just for openers, that I've short changed & not added any of the following to several musicians MUSICOGRAPHY, ....yet!
Carla - Bonus Track on Live in New York - The #1 song which is a duet with Akim Camara
Ward - Bonus Track on Live in New York - The #2 & #3 musical numbers where he performs solo's on the Organ in front of the entire orchestra
The #1 Bonus Track selection - Magical Andre Rieu on the Live in Dublin DVD, discovered the only decent footage of the choir 2:22 (2 minutes & 22 seconds) as they originally appeared on the La vie est belle DVD. With this footage I was able to easily confirm that Celine, Suzan, & Resie are part of the choir on La vie est belle DVD, the #10 & #11 musical numbers. I've been told, that Carla, Carmen, Nicolle, & Heidi, were also part of the choir, but they were all standing in a different group on the left side of Mireille (drums) & there is no clear footage.
I've got my work cut out for me, to now go back to each DVD & look to see how many other BONUS TRACK selections I've overlooked.

Although it is impossible to look at the La vie est belle DVD & identify each & every of the above choir members from among 16 choir members, CARLA, told me, DIRECTLY that all of the above are on the DVD & that is when Carla, Carmen & Suzan first met each other -- all originally were CHOIR members
The camera never did clearly focus on the 9 members on the left side of Mireille. The best footage of the choir members on the La vie est belle DVD is footage that appears on:
Live in Dublin - Bonus Track #1 - Magical Andre Rieu - You can clearly see Celine, Suzan, & Resie in this footage of the choir, as they appeared on the La vie est belle DVD

There is no footage that can confirm Carla, Carmen, Heidi, Nicolle are part of the choir on the left side.
Carla, told me....I'm taking Carla's word that she gave me accurate info. Carla certainly should now when Carla, Suzan & Carmen first met.
It was prior to the filming of the La vie est belle DVD
Footage does exist that you can see showing Celine, Suzan, & Resie in the choir - on the Live in Dublin DVD, Bonus Track #1 (Magical Andre Rieu)- watch that closely, you only have about 2 seconds to see Celine, Suzan, & Resie.
Hope this answers a few of the questions. The photo website, hopefully, will have the info you need to answer any other questions Reply to this

At this point I don't really care who came first! I think a lot of the choir members are multi-talented anyway. One of my favorites was always Nicolle Steins. I understand she can play piano & sax as well as sing. I would like to hear some of these ladies do a solo from time to time. They've gotta be good if they sing in the choir. In fact there is mult- talent among many of the JSO members. Remember the Andre sisters? That was always one of my favorites. Reply to this

Lots of talk about the choir the last couple of days. I love the choir and always enjoy seeing the familiar faces and watching their animated expressions and actions, as well as the wonderful costumes.

At the age of 9 months my granddaughter and I was listening to the recording of the concert held in the Royal Albert Hall and La Belle Est Vie. For 1 hour Talia was completely captured by the beautiful music. She listened attentively without a blink of an eye. I was speechless. At the end of 2009 she got a Report card from the daycare center she attends which stated that she has natural susceptability for music. We add a 9 month old girl to your fan club. Now becoming 1 year old on the 14 th January 2010 we are thrilled to see Talia enjoying your music. Thank you for coming into our homes and our children's homes with your talent and exceptional music, because in this way our grandchildren are exposed to the classics in a awesome way.

Symphonic playing Gershwin´s American in Paris, then the New years concert from Vienna with Julie Andrews and on top of it in between we watched : the New years concert from André in Vienna 2OO1 and in Hanover 2OO3, we have enough snow that we just stay home and enjoy our old DVDs.

You put in your email address, vote, and then wait for an email to bounce back where you click on the link. That makes your vote official. He won a couple of years ago, last year a couple of dead people were first but he did well if you took them off. Right now he's at no. 7 for the week. Mirusia is 30 something.

And didn't we have an article a few years back about an interview Andre did in Mexico? So if he is planning to go in November, just shows how sometimes it takes awhile to iron out all details of a concert. I can't even imagine. I know we all get anxious when Andre says he will come to this or that place, and we immediately want to know when, when, when! Believe me, good things are worth waiting for.

Hi Shirley, I know I am in the minority here but I will take 105. I have been freezing here and the wind chills are so bad. We have snow on the ground and it will never melt in this weather. We are at a little higher altitude here than some of the towns around us so we always get colder and the freezing rain down in Lancaster will be our snow. I am ready for Spring for several reasons : )

Jeanine Ann, I am sooo ready for spring(I think). With all these weather extremes it could be a very stormy time for us. I've read about the global warming & how it affects the weather. very interesting. We haven't had these cold of temps in over 20 years. Unusual for us, whose "normal" average hi is about 43°, to have singe digit hi's with -14° wind chills. Can you believe we still have our Christmas tree up?

An other addiction of mine, collecting the hand painted glass ornaments and this year I have all our 9 cats on the tree, 8 are in heaven, one is still with us, but I think day after tomorrow I will take him down. Vic switches the lights on every morning and every night. Lets hope spring is here soon, the temperatures are sure upside down. Florida has freezing ones and here up North we have above O C which is unusual, here in Mtl. we have today minus 6 C, not to bad.

What a season of extremes. Whilst most of you are shivering with the freezing conditions, here in Adelaide we've just gone through a week of 40+, the last 3 days, 43o C. That's well into the 100'sF.
On the day we reached 43.9, Scandinavia had -43.8. How extremely different can you get?
Let's hope the Rieu buses are safe on the German roads.
To you all, please stay safe and keep warm. Or cool, depending on locality.
At least the temp has dropped today and we even had a phenomenen this morning - something called 'rain'.
The gardens and lawns are still sighing in relief. Well those that are still alive.
So much for Global warming. The lead story in today's paper was about the coming of the new Ice Age, which should be with you for the next 20-30 years.
Whilst we fight bush fires , one which is getting very close to my best AR friend's home, you can make snow men or angels, whilst we fry eggs on the pavement.
When I went to put on my lipstick this morning, it was melted.
Bring on Autumn (your fall)

Hi Lyndall,
From your neighbouring state of Victoria. This weather we are both enduring is unbelievable!! I feel for our friends on the other side of the world enduring their freezing conditions. Wouldn't it be nice if we could do a bit of a swap with them we could send them some sunshine and they could in turn send us some much needed rain and heat relief. And boy do we need the rain the two dams near my home are completely empty!! Good luck Lyndall with your garden most of the plants in my garden have burnt leaves after the other day when we had 44.5 degrees. Never mind the lipstick, I thought I was going to melt. I've never tried this before but could you perhaps try and put your lipstick in the fridge when you are facing your next heatwave. I don't know if that will help but in these conditions that we are experiencing anything is worth a try.

G'day Jeanine Anne,
Have you got a copy of "I lost my heart in Heidelberg" and if so did they show much of Mirusia, Platin Tenors and Carmen etc. Look forward to a bit of a review if you have the time. I have been having trouble getting a copy here but am very anxious to get one. It's always exciting too get another one to add too the collection.

Hi there Jill, I am sorry I have been a little elusive lately but I am busy with cleaning the house and getting Christmas things packed and ready for next holiday.
Big Hugs

Beyond great and beautiful is this music. That he composed these 6 symphonic poems when he was already deaf is amazing to me. He & Beethoven, having had this deafness problem, wrote some of the world's most beautiful music.

Hi Everyone,
RE THE ANDRE INTERVIEW I found it impossible at first to hear and then I mucked around for a while. I hope this helps others out who wish to listen to it. Good luck!! First Google - 'andre rieu and tracy grimshaw interviews a current affair'. Then enter the first title that comes up 'exclusive interviews' and click it on. I could listen to it at a fairly reasonable volume but I did prefer to use my earphones. There was also access to other interviews with Andre from other Aussie reporters. There was one with Andre trying to demonstrate his cooking skills which was quite amusing. Another was with both Andre and Pierre and last but certainly not least an independent interview with Mirusia which was brilliant. She discussed how she first met Andre and what he was like to work for and a bit more.

Hi all
Had to have a chuckle to myself tonight, as I read a report from Ben Leach (Telegraph.co.uk) who was reporting on the success of Andre's album "Forever Vienna" in the UK.
Maybe now he has appeared on the Royal Variety concert, they have finally discovered what the rest of the world has know for years.

Hi Lyndall,
After reading your report it also gave me a laugh. From what planet does this guy come from! I didn't think there was anyone left who hadn't heard of our beloved Andre and JSO. Mr Leach obviously doesn't possess much classical knowledge at all. You would think it would be his job to promote what he so laughingly refers to as "the world's best kept secret". Ones life is not complete with out Andre's and JSO's music or a concert or two or even more!!

Actually Jill, believe it or not, there are still lots of people who,ve not heard of Andre Rieu. I run into them all the time. But it is getting better.

What happened to soloist Celine Saleh?
We are fortunate to have super, Chicago
concert seats for JSO and probably won't
seek other locations due to 2010 concert
reductions. Would like to see Suzan again. Maybe Sharon Brown who founded
Celtic Woman & Celtic Thunder could help
Suzan since Sharon moved to New York.
It would really be a blast to see Andre
and Celtic Thunder do a joint special.
We love both groups and Celtic Thunder
has hit the top of the charts.

I know Celine has sung some and taken some classes. My impression is that she is spending time with her daughter. I never saw her with Andre again after Radio City where she was great. Suzan is living in northern Norway and is singing some there. I am pleased to see that she is doing that because I was afraid she would "let it slip." Carla and Carmen are quite successful in their own areas, as well as sometimes appearing with Andre. Hopefully Suzan will be too. She has two concerts coming up. Of course, there aren't many people in northern Norway.

Hi girls
I thought Celine crucified my most favourite Strauss song "The Nun's Chorus" or choir as Andre calls it. Her diction was dreadful.
After hearing Andre play it as just an orchestral piece in Albert Hall, I wrote to him suggesting Carmen as the Mother Superior. It would suit her voice much more that Celine.
Probably many would disagree with me, but as it's been my favourite for many,
many years (my kids know that it's to be played at my funeral) I thought I'd just air my opinions.

John: I'm possibly a troublemaker,but am
guessing family politics may be one big
part of Suzan's problem since Andre is
only one of three votes in his family.
Almost mother-in-laws can be a power
either positive or negative. And, there
was the microphone malfunction at Suzan's last performance in Australia.
Reply to this
I'm pretty sure there is no problem. Suzan like the other girls, wants to spread her wings and go on to new things.
They all come back for specials and such. But no singer wants to spend their entire career with Andre. They want to have some individuality on their own.
This is a non-issue.
Now for us fans, of course, ... we want to see Suzan as we love her and her voice !

Sally I think Suzan is working harder now than she did with Andre and not getting half the benefits .I keep in touch with her through emails and i know she puts in long days.I not ready to say this to her now. I think the worst move she ever made was to move to Norway.I don't have enough info on this yet But if i was to give her some fatherly advice id tell her to go back to father Andre .When these people leave Andre will he take them back .She seems very capable.I once used the term frustrate on Facebook and she wrote me back please don't be mad at her and i though how nice that was of her .That made me think that maybe she to easy going to out there on her own in that type of business .She needs someone to watch her back and right now i don't think she has that. But i wish her all the luck in the world

Hi John, I watch Suzan via her other sites too. And I can tell you are missing her and miss hearing her sing. Nothing wrong with that. But she is an adult and she moved to Norway with her husband Mitch.
I'm sure we will be hearing more of her as time goes on.
That was kind of Suzan to write you. I think she appreciates those who are her fans and friends. She does seem to be a special young woman.
Won't it be nice when she has her own CD? I know I would love to have it.

She has to work twise as hard because there's less oportunity. She belongs in a place where there plenty of exposure .I think what she needs is someone to watch her back and right now i don't think she has that

John,

Suzan is a grown woman. She moved to Norway with her husband. She is happy. That's good enough for me.
No one "put" Suzan there, she chooses to be in Norway right now. She is working on a CD.
I agree with you that Suzan is beautiful. She is a wonderfully delightful young woman with a beautiful voice.
There is no blame to be placed anywhere. Suzan and her husband Mitch are happy and I am happy for them.
Reply to this
Thank You Sally...I could not quite work out where this thread was supposed to be going.

La vie est belle, Andre's first DVD included a choir on song #10 & #11, only.

Drum rollllllllll, Glenn, if you please! <I prefer Glenn's drum roll over Marcel's>
I predict Andre will unveil his new, revamped, website on Valentine's Day (14 February 2010), it will be Andre's Valentines Day present to everyone.
The major improvement will be nice large, high resolution, photos of the current members of the JSO.
The photo update of the JSO musicians is long overdue.
I will most certainly welcome any & all improvements Andre incorporates into his revamped website.
Andre will also announce that you can special order Blue Ray DVD's. You place your order, & Andre will then burn a Blue Ray DVD, for you ....at a premium price, of course.
I have no inside information, this is merely my educated guess.

Bill, you really do your homework, but I have to tell you, I do not really care for the choir. When I go to an André concert, I am electrified by the musicians and the soloists, what made me look at the choir ladies for the first time, when the guys danced "Tea for two" and those ladies played the instruments, that I thought was super and André should include them in his orchestra. Background singers are a must for those pop artists, but in the JSO????? I would not miss them. I have no idea of their names.
Lyndall Freeman, the reason why André chose Celine for the mother superior in the nun´s choir was, because she looks like the spitting image of the nun from Woopy Goldberg´s Sister act.

HI Inge,
Just remember, Carla, Carmen, & Suzan were all in the choir to begin with.
Andre seems to prefer to pick his soprano soloists, from the choir
Kalki & Laura, are both in the choir & both, at different times have been pulled & put out in front of the orchestra as soprano soloists.
It's possible, some future soprano soloist will be pulled out of the choir.
Mirusia is the ONLY soprano soloist that WASN'T, in the choir to begin with

Was very busy to watch Figure skating today, this weekend the US championship and last week the Canadian, some good quality, Sasha Cohen is the skaters skater, too bad that she did not complete her triple jumps, the artistic is outstanding and her flexibility, she is my favorite, but it took a lot of guts to come back after 4 years.
To your question Shirley, I have no idea, as I never gave the choir a second look. If Carla and Carmen came out of the choir, good for them, because I would have never noticed them there. But if they were in the choir, for sure not long. I remember André telling, that he discovered them performing at the hotel and he said, they must be soloists. About the bonus tracks, I have only looked at the one from New York and was mad at André, that he put Carla and Akim on the bonus track instead leaving them in the show where they belonged. I never forgave him that, haaaaaaaaaaaaaa, now stone me!

Hi Shirley. Yes, with the exception of Mirusia the others Suzan, Carmen and Carla were in the choir. You can see them in some of the old videos.
Reply to this
Carla, Carmen, & Suzan were part of the choir in the very first DVD, La vie est belle.
2000 is the year Andre first brought the 3 together & all were in the choir although you can't identify them on the DVD because the camera never really focused on the choir on the left side.
Andre didn't have a choir for a couple of years.
He finally revived the choir & eventually pulled Carla & Carmen out of the choir & featured them as soprano soloist.
A year or 2 later he also pulled Suzan out of the choir & made her a soprano soloist

Thanks Bill & Virginia. I wonder why a choir at all? And to my thinking, Carla & Carmen are too good to just be in a choir anyway so why wouldn't they be hired as soloists?

Dear Fans,
Both Rob and I have been laid very low for a week by a dreadful stomach bug, with has left us in a pretty awful state health wise, hardly seeing the outside of the house, in fact rarely seeing anything except the little boy's or girl's room and bed. Therefore I haven't opened this pc since Tuesday last week
I nearly choked when I saw how many outstanding emails I have awaiting attention. I haven't looked at any of them, so apologise if there are any from you. It really will be a case of getting to the backlog when I can.
Getting to them is also going to be compounded by the fact that on Monday morning, I have surgery on the right thumb which will also put me out of action for a few days.
Hopefully in the next couple of days, I'll start to feel a little more like spending a few hours before the computer screen.
Love,
Lyndall

Tonight I will play Andre's Song To The Moon.Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights. I hope most of you will be able to see it. I'm not sure we will be able as we are having a winter storm warning.Anyway, I will send a song to the moon.

Bill, I just mailed you a news paper clip from the concert here in Montréal May 11, 2OO2, "la vie est belle" on tour. You can read for yourself, that Suzan Erens sang two songs solo , one of them the Australian girl as an angel last year and she also sang a song from Phantom of the opera, that was her soloist debut, Carla and Carmen came one year later in 2OO3
Reply to this
Inge you are probably right but "la vie est belle" was recorded in 2001 and "royal albert hall" in 2002 and I saw Suzan in the audience during that concert (unless she has a look-alike there) so how could she have sung in 2001 with the tour?
Reply to this
Jeanine Ann, that is why Susan was not on the DVD la vie est belle, because the tour is called also like that for a hole year. I wrote 2OO2, yes I saw Suzan also in the audience in the "Royal Albert Hall", I even noticed Marjorie in the audience in Hanover 2OO4, try to find her!

Is that the Trier concert? Thanks

I DID NOT SEE HER SINGING SOLO THAT EARLY, BUT I HAVE SEEN HER EARLY ON IN THE CHOIR, BEFORE ANY SOLO SINGING.I THINK, CARMEN AND CARLA JUST STARTED OUT, WHEN THEY WERE WITH THE CHOIR, WITH THE BRASIL SYMPHONY PLAYING AS AN ENCORE! THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME, AND LATER THEY DID APPEAR ON ALL DVDS.THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL CONCERT, SUSAN, HAVE BEEN JUST IN THE AUDIENCE WITH CELINE..

INGE YOU ARE RIGHT!
JUST PUT ON THE LA VIE EST BELLE DVD, And he had a large choir, like 15 members including Susan.they are playoing the Bolero!

Carla, Carmen, Suzan, Heidi, Nicolle, & Resie are all part of the choir on the La vie est belle DVD
If you go to the photo website, & look up the names of any of the above you will see exactly which DVD they each appeared on.
All of the above is part of the musicography of CARLA, CARMEN, SUZAN, RESIE, HEIDI, NICOLLE,
they all appeared in the choir on the La vie est belle DVD and Live in Dublin DVD, however there is no footage to prove it

YES, INGE, YOU ARE RIGHT.
I HAVE SEEN SUSAN IN THE CHOIR ON THE 2002 DVD, AT THAT TIME IT WAS JUST ON VHS, THWE WALTZERTRAUM, NOW ON DVD ALSO.
I DO THINK, SHE BECAME A SOLOIST FROM THE TIME SHE STARTED TO GO WITH PIERRE.

I THINK, IF YOU LOOK BACK ON THE FIRST DVDS ANDRE DID NOT HAVE A CHOIR!!

Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me who will replace Suzan if anyone. Will one of the choir members step up to the plate as has previously been done. And now with Suzan gone will we know longer hear that magnificent rendition of 'The Rose'. I certainly hope not it's one of my favourites !!

Jill: Am about 100% certain that Mirusia
is Suzans replacement to keep in balance
with three Platin tenors - three female
soloists [Mirusia, Carmen & Carla]. Also, THE ROSE was/is a nice song.

What a commotion, hardiharhar! Bill, the choir I believe you, because I never looked at the choir, I am only 100% sure, that Suzan was a soloist before Carla and Carmen. I think the two Brazilians started even the same year as Susan, only a little later, I think Kati is quite right there.
Reply to this
Carla & Carmen became soloists before Suzan <g>
Live in Dublin, was the first DVD Carla & Carmen sang solo
Suzan appeared in a trio with Carla & Carmen on the next DVD Tuscany aka Romantic Paradise.
Suzan first solo'ed on the Flying Dutchman DVD, 2nd part of the concert, Song #6 Over the Rainbow

All of the information about who was in the choir on the La vie est belle, is very recent information, within the last 10 days.
Footage does exist that you can see showing Celine, Suzan, & Resie in the choir - on the Live in Dublin DVD,
Bonus Track #1 (Magical Andre Rieu)- watch that closely, you only have about 2 seconds to see Celine, Suzan, & Resie.
Hope this answers a few of the questions. The photo website, hopefully, will have the info you need to answer any other questions

Kalki, is usually standing in the middle of the choir, & she is blond.
Look near the bottom of the photo page. If you click on photo, that says CHOIR, you will see a photo of everyone that is or has been in the choir.
Let me know her name, when you identify her & attach a name to the face of the beautiful blond in the choir

I can't find a photo of the choir

Lots of talk about the choir the last couple of days. I love the choir and always enjoy seeing the familiar faces and watching their animated expressions and actions, as well as the wonderful costumes. They always look gorgeous, one or other often seem to be pregnant and I worry about them falling off the platform. Thank Heavens that doesn't happen.
There's a blond girl stands on the inside end who is particularly beautiful and vibrant I think.

Bill, you have it your way, Carla and Carmen are my favorite anyway, but I know what I believe , amen!

I JUST WATCHED THE ANDRE SISTERS LAST NIGHT, LOVE THEM TOO. YES, ALL BEAUTIFUL VOICES, HEIDI IS SINGING ON ONE OF THE DVDS, I THINK, ROMANTIC MOMENTS, WHAT A SOPRANO??? BEAUTIFUL.

The original Andre sisters consisted of Lin, Manoe, & Renate. Song #15 on the Royal Albert Hall DVD is when they first appeared.
There is another trio of singers on the Christmas Around the World DVD with Stephanie, Manoe & Lin; song #17 Winter Wonderland

wrong again Bill, the André sisters sang for the first time on tour l998 and there was a video made in Philadelphia: " André Rieu in concert", if you have this video, it is not on DVD, than you can see for yourself: Manoe, Lin and Renate!!!! Also in "Celebration" the new years concert of the Millennium 2OOO they also sang in that one. Both before Royal Albert Hall

Hi Dan, so glad it is getting warmer down there. I lived in Fort Myers for 10 years so I know how nice it is over the winter except for those cold spells. Are you going to any of the concerts this year? Would love to have you tell us all about it if you go. Big hugs to you.

Jeanie Ann, Brr! Brr again! Cold here in central FL! I keep looking for a new American violinist named Elaina Cook w/2010 JSO & Andre Rieu? Have you seen or heard of her yet? Guess we will have to wait for Dec 10 &11!.

No Dan have not seen nor heard of her. Maybe I will see her in June! I will be in Ft. Myers March 4th. I hope your weather is warmer by then. It is cold here with 3 feet of snow on everything. That is from two storms. Getting tired of it now. Stay warm down there. Hugs

Jeanie, We promise GOOD Florida weather in March. Right now rain is coming down in pails! Try Elaina Cook on google or some other good search engine. 3' of snow! Wow! Sounds like Duluth, MN! We will see JSO in Tampa or Orlando. In June our granddaughter will see JSO in Boston. She is a young M.D. at RI State Hosp in Providence but right noe is "snowed in" in Vancouver!

Kati, I have seen André the first time in Germany on TV in l997, came home and he was advertised on TV for the Molson Center (at that time Bell Center), my daughter went too late to get tickets and we missed him , but he came back in l998 in March and I saw him on PBS Plattsburgh and we got tickets in the bleachers, in l999 I saw my first open air concert in Wetzlar Germany, in 2OOO I pledged for the first time tickets on PBS. I have my first Videos from Germany up to 2OOO plus tapes that my daughter made for me. I had than to buy a uncoded video player and later an uncoded DVD player. My daughter was then in 2OO5 working for her firm in Paris and she taped me there an interview from André, here I got one by accident, my husband watches the French channel, I do mostly not, he found André in an interview and I put a tape in the video recorder.

YES, INGE, WE DO NOT KNOW ALL!! ESPECIALLY FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!!
THERE ARE MORE VHS TAPES OUT FROM THE VERY FIRST CONCERTS, THAT ARE NOT PUT ON DVDS.
I DO HAVE SOME, I USUALLY WATCH THEM, WHEN I GO TO EUROPE, WITH MY FAMILY.

The JSO choir would not be the same without Nicolle to add life and colour to any number. She was a great find - one of the best looking females on stage. Great facial expressions and those eyes !!!! See all this in (DVD) Champaign Melodies - Morgenblatter track as an example. What a happy performer. John - Australia.
