Andre Rieu To Play In The Presence Of Queen Beatrix
André Rieu will play during the opening ceremony VVV 125 years, in the presence of Queen Beatrix on March 26, 2010
On Friday March 26, 2010 in Valkenburg will be celebrated the official opening of the Tourist Office in the Netherlands 125 years. This year is the fact that exactly 125 years ago in South VVV Valkenburg Limburg was founded. This was the first OT of the Netherlands and known in Europe formed the basis for the current tourist network widely spread in our country. The festivities are attended by Queen Beatrix also the national symbol anniversary of the Tourist Office on the castle ruins in Valkenburg.
The visit of Queen Beatrix was Anya Niewierra, managing director of VVV Zuid-Limburg and Kees van Wijk, CEO of Tourist Netherlands, Andre Rieu was approached and ask him whether he would play a musical interlude during the opening ceremony. The Tourist Directors said the Limburg world star was the perfect person for this special afternoon with his presence adding extra color.
Andre Rieu has responded positively "It seems like fun to do," was his spontaneous reaction after a visit to the Roman room in the municipality of Valkenburg Caves. When asked what songs he will sing during celebrations to bring, he could not answer. "Something I will think about but I will in any case, be playing the Limburg anthem."
The whole opening ceremony will be broadcast live by L1 and the NIS, a report of just less than one hours making the same evening between 19.00 and 20.00 hours on 2 Netherlands is broadcast.
If the weather allows, residents and guests to the festivities on both the Castle Ruins and the Cave City followed by a live big screen at Grendelplein.
