Andre Rieu, the world's most popular classical musician known for his energetic and festive live concerts, has added a second leg to his "Celebration of Music" 2010 North American Tour. The fall leg will start on November 29th at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ, and includes concerts in Los Angeles, CA; Las Vegas, NV; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WA; Ontario, CA; and Tampa, FL; as well as previously announced concerts in San Jose, CA and Vancouver, BC.

The aptly titled "Celebration of Music Tour" describes what fans can expect to experience during Rieu's 2010 North American performances. These aren't ordinary concerts, but celebrations of music in all its wonderful and powerful aspects featuring Andre Rieu, accompanied by his 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra.

"Music is the most wonderful thing in the world - it triggers emotions," says Andre Rieu. "I want to bring joy with an ode to waltzes, polkas, romantic ballads and many more beautiful melodies. It will be a very special night."

"His fans in the USA will love this new show," says Marthijn Graafland, Director North America at Andre Rieu Productions and the promoter for this tour. "Especially since this tour is in the midst of the holiday period, it is not to be missed. In Europe, his Christmas concerts attract over 20,000 fans a night. Andre is known for creating the perfect holiday show atmosphere."

Advanced tickets will go on sale to American Express(R) Cardmembers beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29th through 10:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30th. Tickets for the new dates for the "Celebration of Music Tour" go on sale to the general public beginning May 1st through all Ticketmaster outlets, charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000, or via Ticketmaster.com (except the concert on November 30th in Las Vegas, NV).

Tickets for the November 30th Orleans Arena concert will be available by calling 702-284-777 or 888-234-2334 or at orleansarena.com/event-calendar.

Tickets are already on sale for the previously announced tour dates through Ticketmaster except the June 25th Centre Bell concert . Those tickets are available at evenko.ca/fr/show/event/4058.

Andre Rieu is one of the best-selling live acts in the world. Billboard ranked Rieu's 2009 tour as the sixth best seller of the year, with 835,000 tickets sold worldwide. In 2008 and 2009, he toured the globe with a replica of the Viennese Schonbrunn castle, to which he added fountains and two ice rinks to make it the biggest stage in the world. Rieu, who has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, travels with his own Johann Strauss Orchestra, and an entourage of more than 100 people in total. His concerts are known for their festive atmosphere, where fans are encouraged to get out of their seats and waltz in the aisles. His latest album reached #2 on the UK pop charts, and he is been certified 100-times platinum in Australia, while he also has his own television series in the Netherlands. Due to the recent eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull, Rieu himself chartered a plane for more than 100 employees to fly to South Africa, rather than disappointing fans of his current tour there.

I have purchased tickets to the concert in Toronto on June 26th not knowing it was the G20 weekend. Due to the extremely heightened level of security (reported 1 million dollars in cost) and the amount of closed street (red zone) surrounding the Air Canada Center I feel that it is extremely unsafe for me my my husband to attend as well as most of Andre Rieu's fans and himself. There will, as usual, be many protesters and what better place to protest then in the public transit areas witch is the only access point to the ACC, and so recommended by the ACC. The ACC has confirmed that there will be a very large amount of security surrounding the ACC, but do not know how people will get access to the parking lot due to street closures. Also, most people attending are older and will not want to take public transit. I hope you will support us in postponing the event to a safer date for the fans and Andre himself, or issue us a refund.

From one of Andre's best fans,
    Anne Laalo (613) 745-6509 - Ottawa.

      Dear Anne,

Since this is a fan site for Andre Rieu and we do not control his scheduled events, I am listing the link for ACC contact use.  Please fill out the form and list your concerns as you have done here.  I cannot forward it because it is an on-line email.  I wish you good luck in whatever the venue and Andre's people decide for this concert.

Thanks for your concern for the safety of everyone and please come back and visit us if you want to chat about Andre and the JSO.  Hugs to you
