Andre Rieu Receives The Karl Medal


 
                              

         

Médaille Charlemagne pour les Médias Européens

Tonight, André was decorated in Aachen (Germany) with a very special distinction: the"Médaille Charlemagne pour les Médias Européens". He was awarded this medal because he brings so many people together with his music.

The mayor of Aachen, mr. Marcel Philipp praised André by saying he"connects tradition and innovation, but above all he provides millions of people all around the world access to the European music tradition."

The laudatio was spoken by André's close friend, his Excellency Minister Camille Eurlings.
