Dallas Students To Sing At Wilkes-Barre Concert

When Dutch violinist, conductor and composer Andre Rieu brings his“Celebration of Music” 2010 North American Tour to the Mohegan Sun Arenaat Casey Plaza on Monday, he will share the stage with some localyoungsters.
The singers, primarily fourth- through eighth-graders from the DallasMiddle School Select Chorus, will perform Michael Jackson’s “EarthSong” as a tribute to the late pop artist.
Directed by Hollie Major, the Dallas Middle School Select Chorus hassung at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins games, Scranton/Wilkes-BarreYankees games, the state Capitol building, local nursing homes andduring Wilkes-Barre’s Fine Arts Fiesta.
Monday’s concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will showcase Rieu’s55-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra.

Jeanine Ann, if this is a local group, do you know why they have the name Dallas? I thought Dallas was in Texas. Just curious. At any rate, what an honor for these young people.

When I watched him on TV the other day I just couldn't help but tear up. made me want to go to a concert sooo bad.
It's just not in the cards for us this year. Husband doesn't get around so good anymore so we may have already seen our last live concert.
