Andre Rieu In Baltimore - A Report From Martha

Every fan wants to stay abreast of the happenings. The Baltimore concert was by far a beautiful coming together of music, lighting and soloists. Kimi the South African soloist who performed in South Africa with Andre continues to perform with him throughout the American Tour. She sang Ave Maria (Bach-G) with a rich voice and a prayerful presence that was simply beautiful. She received a warm and appreciative applause and standing ovation from quite a number of those in the audience including myself and friends. I was very impressed with her and could already see how she blossomed just from watching the videos of her in South Africa. Yes, there were some sniffling behind me, Andre has a way of working with his singers to bring out the best and this case with Kimi is no different.
Mirusia, I've watched over the years as well and what power she has packed in her performances more beautiful and moving to watch each time. She sang a moving "Memory" from cats and her expression with a closeup of her big hazel eyes was an impression of this song.
Tanja Derwahl, the Cellist, did a magnificent moving solo of "Le Cygne." She was quite expressive and although it took moments for the second half to start because Andre wanted everyone seated, when the time was right and the mood was set Tanja layed and play she did! It was very beautiful and the audience was captivated.

Carmen will be forever in my mind with Andre, she sang the Michael Jackson "Earth Song" and it seemed much more settled in her although she did a fantastic job in Maastricht, it was even better in Baltimore. The children are always wonderful to watch and I thank Andre for including them in this tour.
The Platin Tenors had a show all of their own you might say and quite the showmen too. They sang "Torna a Surriento" and a couple of Italian Songs "La Danza" and another that escapes me at the moment. It was nice they had ample stage time in the first half, Andre played "Ben" and as always it's a treat when he does a solo. I think all will enjoy this "Celebration of Music Concert" who will be attending them. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me so no pictures, but there will be plenty forthcoming from others I'm sure.

Thank you Martha for taking the time to give us such detailed information about the music & performers in the Baltimore concert.
I can tell you with absolute certainty, that Kimmy knows about the kind words you've spoken of her.
Thanks Bill, she deserves it. Thanks to all of you.
