Andre Rieu South Australia Friendship Group, June, 2010

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FRIENDSHIP GROUP
On Monday June 28, we had the smallest gathering yet, which was most disappointing, with apologies from Lyla, still struggling with her knee, Ann, Jan, Ness and Betty.
It was a pleasure to welcome Colin, for his first 'in house' meeting.
We may have been small in numbers, but that didn't stop us from enjoying a delicious lunch and much happy chatter. After lunch, we watched 2 privately made videos I'd been sent. One was the concert in the cave in Limburg, in which André and the JSO played for Queen Beatrix. Another showed Her Majesty being entertained by all girl group "Reincarnatus" with JSO members Renate Dirix and Lisa Custers. Subtitled interviews with André made up the rest of the videos.
Some of the conversation of the day included the up coming cinema Maastricht link. I've made up fliers to be handed out at the cinema doors, with information about our group.
Our next meeting is on Monday July 26, 12.30 at the Directors Hotel
Lyndall and Robert

We meet on the last Monday of each month, at the Directors Hotel, 247 Gouger Street at 12.30-2.30, on the first floor, which is only accessible via stairs.
Lunches are available for $11.95 which includes a soft drink. The cuisine is Thai, but Schnitzels, toasted sandwiches and bowls of hot chips are also available.

If you, dear readers, are heading off to Maastricht for the concerts, have a tremendous time. To those attending the Maastricht linked Cinema Experience, like us, it may not be as good as being there in person, but we will have the best seats in the house. Whether seeing the concert in person or in the cinema - ENJOY!

On a personal note, Rob and I have been saddened by the loss of 2 wonderful gentlemen. We say "Goodbye" to Bill Bristow from Begal Beach in Queensland. Although never meeting him in person, we knew him through our friendship with his lovely wife Audrey.
Last night our dear friend Norma Akers, from Melton Victoria, rang with the sad news of the passing of her husband Mark. Mark was a warm, delightful, gentleman who will be missed by all who knew him and we were proud to call him 'friend'
To both Audrey and Norma, our heart goes out to you and your families at this very sad time. The chain in our André Rieu family has been broken. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you.

Finally, to our Netherlands friends, good luck in the finals of the World Cup. Go Orange!
