Lost Heroes

Ocean bird, I wish to tell you
A story from a long time ago.
Oh ocean bird, I wish to tell you
A sad old song that you must know.

America, so many heroes
They left their homes and crossed the waves.
America, you sent your young boys
Oh ocean bird, how must I tell you
That sad old song? They came to save us!
America, so many heroes
They lost their lives and filled the graves.

America, we love your heroes
America, we are your friends
America, we’ll always love you
And keep you in our hearts and hands.

America, so many heroes
They left their homes and crossed the waves
America you die of grief now
Oh ocean bird, how must I tell you
That sad new song? They are in pain now!
America we share your sorrow,
America, let hope remain…

words by Marjorie Rieu

GOD BLESS those with God-like faith, for you lead us forward.
GOD BLESS those who still trust in GOD and Humanity!
May you always be blessed. May you always be able to move forward in acceptance, dignity, grace, fellowship and the desire to make our World a better place......for You and yours, and those who come after you.

This is one of those times you remember where you were
and what you were doing., watching in horror & disbelief, the scenes,
    burned into your mind forever.
A day of somber reflection, to mourn those lives lost and the brave actions of many.
To realize, once again, that hate & intolerance always destroy, but that good people everywhere
always unite to overcome the evil that would destroy us all.
That is where the hope comes in, out of the ashes, new life begins.
Let freedom ring, not only here, but everywhere.

I remember exactly where I was, when that horrible disaster happened. I was on the phone with my dear departed friend who died of Leukemia one year later when I saw it on TV. 2 days after we came back from Wetzlar an Open Air Concert with André and the JSO, we talked about this on the phone, but then I told her to switch her TV on and I was glued for the next 3 days on the TV and phoned my friend in NYC, she lives only a spit away from the twin towers, they saw it on on TV at breakfast when the first plane went in the first Tower, then they looked out of the window and saw the second one going in. I could only get through to them the next day, the first day every line was busy or just out of order. -- Also I saw then on TV that over a hundred people from 3Okm of my hometown died in the towers, they were from their firm sent there to attend some kind of a congress, all of them died, also a lot of Canadians died there. I cannot believe it is already 9 years and now that disaster with the Muslims wanting a religious center there a block within Ground Zero?????????

I was watching the news on TV which was covering the first plane crash.

I saw the 2n plane hit the building which seemed surreal, watched both building collapse & called a friend to tell him we were being attacked.

I went to work in the afternoon, however none of us did very much work.  We had a TV & spent a lot of time watching & listening to the TV, saying very little to each other all afternoon & evening.

    Seems like yesterday.

Here we are 9 years later & the only change is the rubble has been removed, still NO replacement building & in China they are building the equivalent of 3 NY cities each & every year.

I feel somber & disappointed at the wrong direction our Federal Government is going.

Flags at half mast today seem inadequate to the sorrow I feel

Hi Bill, I live at the other end of the world in Melbourne, Australia, and I watched exactly the same thing live on CNN Asia in the late night news and phoned my family as I could not believe what I was seeing. It was beyond belief that anyone could conceive of such a horror. Last week on national Aust TV we watched a documentary about 9/11 with interviews from Condolesa Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, brave firemen & sadly the widow of a brave plane passenger who was one of the heroic men to foil the terrorists plans - it was compelling viewing. Then, to hear the more than insensitive concept of a mosque on the tower site was almost as unbelievable. Andre's music "Lost Heroes" is a perfect tribute - so emotive.

GOD BLESS AMERICA! What happened on that aweful day 9 years ago, MUST NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. I shall never forget where I was when I heard the news. I know that mistakes are made by governments, but if America was not there, where would this world be!? Our thoughts are with you today.

This is a very beautiful page Jeanine Ann.
I think we all remember the exact place and time that we saw this tragedy unfolding. It was 6:30 in the morning when I had just got up, my mom and brother had the tv on and was watching this, we didn't know at the time that it was an actual attack on the Trade Center building, but my mom was thinking it was a possibility. Then when the second plane hit, we knew, and with disbelief we watched. I remember going to work and watching it, I remember talking with clients and it was being watched...it was everywhere. By the end of the day and for weeks, the tears and heartfelt empathy was everywhere. I remember thinking, wondering, how anyone could do this to another human being. How can hate be so large that you take innocent lives and destroy goodness and happiness?

This is my brother's birthday, and on the day this happened he asked, "Why did this happen on my birthday?" Instead of a happy day, it was a day filled with sorrow.

Our lives will never be the same...for America or the world.

To know that people could do this to other, innocent people, is beyond what I can imagine. When you do a tragedy to yourself then it's your choice...when you do it to someone else, then there has to be Karma's paid which can never be escaped.

For those who risked their lives to save others, for those who lost loved one, families, friends, neighbors...
I send my best thoughts and prayers that life deals you some just rewards for all that you lost.

God Bless America and all the people's of the world who only wish good and life and peace and happiness for everyone.

When I think that those radicals make those suicide bombers believe that they get into paradise for killing unbelievers, it makes me sick, because no God would reward a human being for killing himself and along with it others and reward him for that. If there is a Hell and a Heaven, than they roast in Hell for sure, no matter if they believe in Allah or Christ, Jehovah or the enlighted Buddha.

This page is not just my tribute but all those who visit daily or just once in a while.  Thank you for the kind comments.

I remember exactly where we were on that day.  It was a beautiful sunny day in Fort Myers, Florida and we had an appointment with a realtor thinking we might look for a smaller home in the area.  She called us just as we were ready to walk out the door and asked if we were watching TV.  When we turned it on we could not believe what we were seeing.  I immediately burst into tears and of course canceled our appointment.  I thought this could not be happening and I remember being frightened so I called my sister in Pennsylvania and she told me about a plane crash in Western Pa.  I remember thinking what is next?  I knew the President was in Florida but it was such a terrible thing which was happening and was so hard to comprehend.  We were glued to the TV for the remainder of the day just trying to make ourselves believe what we were seeing.  Our realtor was upset due to the fact that her husband had worked in the Pentagon and had probably lost friends there.  He was an Admiral in the Navy and also an attorney who worked in the legal department at the Pentagon.  I felt very sorry for them.

God Bless all the Lost Heroes and their families, not only on 9/11 but in all the wars in all the world.  I am sure there is a special place in Heaven for these brave men and women.  God Bless America and every country in the world. We are all united as brothers and sisters.

I had just woken from burying my brother who had committed suicide. I had arrived home on the Sunday night before the terrible events of 9 / 11 and was so amazed at the unbelievable things we were seeing on the television that day. All I can say now is that I pray that is God is helping all that suffered that day.

I lived in NYC then and could see the WTC from my living room window. I had accompanied an elderly friend to a medical appointment at 8 a.m. By the time we got out the streets were full of people walking. Most of them were very quiet. Thinking we would be taking a car service home, I had worn high heeled sandals that day. We ended up walking to her apartment - 40 blocks. That evening I managed to get a bus that was allowed to proceed as far as my street. Actually, I was impressed at the time that transportation was running that quickly. We had to pretty much stay indoors in my neighborhood because of the air quality. Was glued to the TV for two days.

With his smile all of a glow.
Ready to let his music flow.
    With his sounds so sublime.
He makes all his music divine.

As he stroke's the violin with his bow.
Across the strings it does go.
We enjoy the music by the Maestro.
