Andre Rieu Productions Named Media Company of the Year
BUSSUM - André Rieu Productions, on Thursday (October 1), was voted the Bussum Media Company of the Year 2010 by the Broadcasting Convention. Pierre Rieu accepted the prize due to his father's illness.
The production facility in Maastricht, creates its own in-house docu-soap operas and concert recordings for TV and DVD and according to the jury reaches one million audiences worldwide. In the Netherlands, Rieu productions is broadcast by TROS. The broadcast from the Vrijthof in Maastricht attracted 2.1 million viewers.
Pierre Rieu said things are now somewhat better with his father but that his vestibular symptoms have not completely gone. "Our in-house production company makes everything in the studio in Maastricht. With the DVD's we reached 150 million people on every continent. The prize is a jewel in our crown. "
