Once a time , the first time I heard him playing, I HAD a plate of food on my hands...It fell down!

Janice, if you will go to his web site you will see that most of January,2011, he will have concerts in Germany. Some of his people have gone to Brazil to make plans for a 2011 tour there, but I don't know exactly when yet. I'm sure he will let us all know when the plans are finalized. But that;s good news for the Brazil fans, yes?

Hi Everyone and a Happy November
I have just watched dvd from Amsterdam Arena (2009). Has anyone experienced problems with this dvd as sometimes the picture quality is not 100%, it may of course just be my disc.
Also,out of over 20 Andre dvds I have this is the only one with no subtitles. I always like to know what the Meastro is saying in between songs, and on this dvd there is some great interaction with Andre Van Duin. Everyone seems to be enjoying the comedy routine and he even @breaks@ Andre's priceless instument. Shame dont know all the dialogue.
Still, despite above its very watchable.

Hi Steve, I have this concert although I only watched it once I do not remember any degrading of the picture quality. I would need to view it again. I loved it! I will let you know. I knew when I bought it that it had no sub titles but I figured we all know about what Andre says between songs. The only dialogue I could not get was that between Andre and Andre Van Duin. It was very funny though to watch. Big Hugs

Thankyou Jeanine Ann for the lovely photo and good start to November.I hope Andre's first concert in Belgium will go as planned for 18th.Nov.
As well as loving Andre and his music I also like many other kinds of music.We are lucky to have an excellent concert hall here in Leicester (DeMontfort Hall) and last Saturday I went to hear Karl Jenkins conducting his own work "The Armed Man" A Mass for Peace.Played by the wonderful Philharmonia orchestra and a very large choir.It was absolutely FANTASTIC!Very moving - a large screen showing scenes from wars over the past century.If any of you have the chance to see or hear it then it's well worth the effort!
Not quite the light happy evenings with Andre's music but very enjoyable all the same.You can listen to it on Amazon and YouTube.
I also really love Baroque music - Bach, Vivaldi and Handel especially.I believe Andre started out playing baroque music himself.Happy listening!!

Hi everybody! When I made my inventory of André stuff, I decided to get my 9 Videos from his beginning transfered into DVDs, he has never done it with those 9, so it cost me l52.--$ but it is a backup for eventualities, should the videos give out. I found a guy who does it for 15.--$ a video, where before I had videos transfered for much more, because that shop charged by the minutes the video run, so much better.

Oh that is a lot of money Inge. Wish I had known because we could have helped you for free. We can do that here at home. It takes time but it can be done. I put "The Vienna I Love" on a DVD or I should say my husband did it. He is the video expert, not me. Like I said it is very time consuming but I don't know how these companies do it - maybe they have high speed equipment. We also did "A Dream Come True" but then it came out in Australia (I think) on a DVD. That is my favorite non-concert video. It shows so much of his life and his rehearsals and I just love the way he plays "Jealousy". : ) Big Hugs

Steve, I think that would be against the law, I have not done it myself, had it done and it is quite expensive, haaaaaaaaa. Yes I could do it, have the equipment, only do not know how and I find it to complicated. No business for me.

Thanks Jeanine Ann for the offer, but you know, we have all the equipment to do it here, too, but neither I nor my husband are good at this. My son-in-law used to do that for me, but they live now in Germany and when they come, I do not want him to mess up all the wires again in the back, I am glad I know how to play the stuff, haaaaaaaa! I can burn CDs, but I forgot how to duplicate them, have to wait until one of my kids comes again.

Inge you make me feel so good lots of technicial stuff I can't do, yet the young ones today can run rings around me, then I did'nt grow up in a computer age,we read books wrote letters, I still like to ring friends on the telephone & talk & talk; I cannot go to sleep if I don't have a book to read,I usually read for at least an hour then listen to a very nice Man who plays A Violin, He soothes my daily worries away, I can't think of words to explain what it is that Andre's music does for my inner self, I don;t sleep because its boring, His music has a quality that is just so good for ones soul , maybe someone else has the right words; ??: I always like to look at the faces in Andre's audience there is a man who always attends His Maastricht concerts, the camera always goes to him He looks so much like "Schultz" from "Hogans Heroes" has anyone else noticed???; Jeanine Ann, how is Cotton doing I think about you & Her a bit, did you like the dog & the dolphin, a priest friend sent that to me I noticed on the credit at the bottom the letters NL which I think relate to the Netherlands am I correct, have a lovely day everyone

Hi Fay, sorry I did not get to read what you sent but I will now. Had to get that news on the blog right away about Andre and I am working on something else. I guess working on the blog is not the way to wind down for bed but sometimes it is necessary. I could never watch a concert but Andre gets me too worked up to sleep but I can listen to his CD's. That beautiful music is so soothing to me. I listen to a CD every single day.
Cotton is doing okay right now Fay. Thanks so much for asking. She is eating but we had to have a lot of her fur shaved because she was so matted from not grooming and when we would brush her she would hurt due to the arthritis so we could not get the knots out. Now we can brush her softly and that works. She is such a sweetie. Thanks for all your thoughts and concern. I am sure she got through this last infection because of all the friends like you and others here who are praying for her. Thanks to all. Will go read your mail now. Big hugs to you.

Fay, I did not grow up with a computer either, but our kids did, the computer is for me a necessity to communicate with our kids in Germany, that way we see them on skype and can talk to them and see our grand children and we write every day, but otherwise the computer will always stay a mystery to me in some ways. I just do not feel I want to learn all about it, I still love to read books like you and I do like communicating with my friends on a personal level much more than with a computer. On the other hand the computer is a great thing to talk to people like you across the ocean in just a few minutes, amazing, but shopping is an other thing, I do only shopping on line where I am sure they do not steal my identity , otherwise I still like to go in shops and see the stuff and feel what I buy. cell phones are a complete NO to me, my daughter gave us one and I never had it activated, i threw it out. I find it aggravating when I see the kids everywhere with a cell phone growing out of their ears, in school on the street, in the Metro and in the theaters they are forbidden also in cars, but they still do it, annoying! So much for gadgets, I like to be up to date but only to a certain extend!!!

Inge, you feel about cell phones the same way I do. haha I can see where they are good for traveling but to see these growing out of the ears in so many people, no matter where they are, well it just leaves me cold. But with computers, like everything else, it can be overdone.

Shirley, I should have had a cell phone in my car when I was still judging just for safety, but made it without, so I did not need one after I retired from judging. I find it specially annoying in restaurants or stores , when people talk loud on those things and think they are in their private office, I was at Costco the other day and a guy phoned his wife right when it was his turn for the cashier, I could have kicked it off his ear, because I found him so rude towards the cashier and to the people who had to wait until he was done. Nobody said anything, I was just about busting, but I was a good girl and kept my rage under control.

Jeanine Ann, I'm the same I go to bed watch a dvd,& am so up in the air,I have to read & then listen to Andre's cd before I can go off to sleep; I tell you honestly He has been the saving of my sanity[thats if I was ever sane] especially at the moment because Narelle is so often in pain,she too finds relief by listning or watching, if she can't sleep I wake to hear her laughing boy thats extra music to my ears, an update on her is she has to have major surgery ASAP. Andre's music has saved my sanity , I really mean that; Today in Australia we have had The Melbourne Cup run its a race that stops the nation, it was won by a horse called Americain, born in America, trained in France, ridden by French jockey, but owned by Australians, hows that for sharing ;We are'nt betting persons but always have a go on cup day , my horse ran 2nd. most of the way but came 4th. oh well such is life;have a great night all; where is Jan McG.????

Hi Fay, So glad you enjoyed your Melbourne Cup, maybe it is something like our Kentucky Derby, I am not sure. I am so sorry to hear about Narelle. I feel so bad for her. I will be praying hard that everything turns out okay. I can understand how Andre has been saving your sanity. He does the same for me. Don't know what I would do without him. Speaking of that his calendar arrived today and I am really tripping over it. It has some beautiful photos of Andre. One closeup looking right at us in sunglasses with a sort of dark background and one of his gorgeous profile on the Brooklyn Bridge! I don't know if you saw it yet but please get it.

I've heard of that race but don't think I've ever watched it. We don't usually follow the horse racing that much, except for our Kentucky Derby. That ia tradition! We have the Breeders Cup coming up this Sat & i may watch it. There is a horse named Zenyatta that has won my heart.This is to be her last race & so far she is undefeated, but win or lose, she's magnificent. Not since Secretariat have I loved a horse so much. There's something about the way she holds her head, very magestic.

Regarding shots of audience on the dvds I do ilke to see some during concert, just felt more than normal on lateset dvd.
I especially loved Cortona where the audience participation was amazing. I love to see people reacing to a very emotional peace such as Song of the Volga (could watch Andre play this 50 times non stop).
So I took on board what you said and watched concert a second time, and must admit enjoyed it more. I must learn not to make quick judgement I think.
Great to hear Andre is rehearsing again, what a great reception he will get in Belguim.

I do happen to have "New Year's Eve Punch" (Silvester Punsch). It is region code NTSC 0. It is my understanding that PAL is used in England. My DVD player plays both NTSC and PAL. You can have it for the postage to send it to you.

Hello Deidre, Mirusia's cd, on the back cover says,Andre'Rieu presents, Mirusia Always & Forever,The story of Mirusia's "dream come true"told in 14 exquisite songs, all performed with Andre Rieu & His Johann Strauss Orchestra, further down near the bottom, it states Mirusia Louwerse, Andre Rieu And His Johann Strauss Orchestra & Choir;!, I think that should answer anyones queries, it is a lovely cd & has gone to the top of the classical music charts here in Australia, I hope that answers all of your questions

Sylvia I have that dvd under the title, Andre Rieu on Holidays, its a 2 dvd set of the one you want & another of an early concert perfomed in a "big barn" for Christmas that is a beautiful dvd, it has live animals just a very intimate audience, the other one you want with Russel Watson, also has Bond , 4 very sexy girls I might add, Sylvia I assume you are in the UK, try Amazon,or if in Oz try Hans music or Ovation, I have given up on the retail shops they are not reliable ,wont try to get it in if its not a new release, & as Jeanine Ann says Andre's own site they are reliable; now I will have my breakfast I usually look here early & often get a bit involved, sorry if I've rattled on; Have a lovely Rieu Day, you will if you think about Andre'rehearsing, whoopee!

ANDRÉ RIEU ON HOLIDAYS that , Jeanine Ann, are the CDs or DVDs I do not buy because I have them already . I have bought everything that André brought out, but I do not buy gift packages with 2 or 3 with a different name, I check first and when I see I have them as singles, I do not buy them.

Inge, I bought that dvd nearly 2 years ago I think it was the 2nd . one we bought, after Andre' in Australia, with the castle;as I said the retail outlets don't carry very much at all & don't want to order, I was once told " that stuff" to say I was angry is an understatment, I've been either going through Ovation here in Oz, or Andre's web site ever since, I did buy a set from Amazon only to find out I already had them as singles,though I did find the Radio city concert had a few extra bits added to it that my New York Memories did'nt have, they were under The Denon label, whereas the ones we get here in Oz are from Universal, also I note The Midsummer nights Dream has more to it than what we saw live streamed into the cinemas, which was a bonus, as I cried a lot at the movies, don't know why may be because Andre' was bigger than life, but the dvd is great, & I don't cry anymore, just drool;

Fay, funny that you mention this with the bonus . You will laugh when I tell you that I did not even see some of the bonus, until my daughter came and told me there is one, haaaaaaaaaa. Next time I watch a DVD or a Video, I will look if there is a bonus on it.

Inge I looked all over the internet the other day for over an hour for Champagner Melodien for I guess it was Elizabeth who asked about it and could not find it. I got it back in 2008 but I thought maybe they would still have it. If I do find it I will let you know. Hugs

Jeanine Ann thanks for your thoughts they are soo appreciated, as I said earlier Andre's dvds have been such a life saver, at the moment Narelle has a strong pain tablet, but we've found that if she keeps to toast noodles yogurt & boiled potatoes , not all together, little & often seems to work, we are just waiting on a bed , So Andre's music has been our salvation , I don't say that lightly either, I hear her laughing away, which is music to my ears also, I wish I could tell Himself Just how much He has Improved our quality of life, I know it sounds strange to read a body say this about a persons music but it is a definite FACT don't know how or why , but it works for us, May God always Bless This Lovely Man & His Family;

Believe me Fay, Andre does know how much he is appreciated and loved by his fans. Just believe me. I will keep praying for Narelle and I know all will turn out well. Andre's music has been my salvation too or I would not have made it through the move back to Pa. from my beloved Florida. I have been back six years now and the only happy days I have are related to Andre, his concerts and this blog. I have found that physical pain is not the only kind of pain a person goes through. paid them with my debit card over the phone. It cost me 40 New Zealand dollars. I think it took about 2 weeks
to arrive. You can also pay over the

Attention all UK Andre fans!!
There is a full-page article in today's Daily Mail all about Maastricht.
It mentions Andre as "local-boy-turned-global-superstar".It tells about what an interesting place it is to visit - how I would love to go there next July and attend one of Andre's concerts.Does anyne know of any "package tours" from UK to include coach/Eurostar and hotel and concert ticket?There must be many of us single people who would like to go with a group.
I have pre-ordered " Moonlight Serenade" and look forward to getting it on 15th November.

For people in the UK the Classic FM magazine is in Tescos. It features Andre on the front and inside has a feature by Andre on the Waltz. There is also a CD of waltzes but it is not Andre and the JSO. Didn't buy it as I was in a hurry!! Will look tomorrow.

Thanks so much for telling us about the Classic FM magazine December issue with
photo of Andre Rieu on the cover (December issue) which had the most glorious Strauss waltzes and polkas played by our famous and lovely Halle
Orchestra (which used to be conducted by
Sir John Barbirolli). I know it is not Andre. a CD is fine.you have to have dvd's to really appreciate Andre. The
Cuckoo Polka is just magnificent.

Hi all. I have missed loads of chat as I have not been getting all Andre emails again so will have to re subscribe.Just checked Andre's new Promo site Bill posted. Looks as if it will be interesting when fully up and running. I must admit I do carry a mobile phone with me all the time in case of emergencies especilly when I am driving alone in the car. But I always switch it off in a restaurant and never answer it if I am in a queue say in the bank or supermarket. Drives me nuts when people do that. So rude I think. There is a time and place to use it.I don't want to hear people bellowing down it in a public place.Call me a miserable old bat if you like!! Hey ho. How times have changed. Progress !!xx

Jeanine Ann Thank you , your words & deeds are very much appreciated, my children at times are my biggest worry in life , I suppose we are all the same when it comes to it; Re Champagne Melodies its a combination Of concerts at Kerikade, Maastricht Dublin, & somewhere else I'm not sure of Europe somewhere, maybe Hamburg, what is so fascinating is how they jump from one venue to the next in the middle of a piece of music, not missing a note, it will keep you on your toes; Jeanine Ann I ordered Andre's Calendar, its "on the way with Andre"; if its anything like this years it will be beautiful, I really don't use mine as a calendar, the photo in the middle which takes up 2 leaflets hangs for all to see as they walk in my front door, I have words with Him every day if anyone other than Narelle heard me, they would say I was crazy, then I am about Himself & His music as well,especially lately I ask are you feeling a bit better ,is the giddiness going, now don;t do too much too soon, & a bit more it helps to talk to Him; I told you befere I was crazy last week in vinnies a Lady was saying she comes in to browse on saturdays because we always have lovely music on , I asked the usual do you know who etc. my son piped up & said he'd had a phone call about a lady who brain washes people with classical music, did he know this person, silly me I asked was it a survey, oh yes he said they wanted to know whose music, silly me caught again he was only having a lend of me , hope you understand what having a lend means, if not ask & I'll explain, have a beautiful Andre'Day all; xxx oool miow!

HELLO, good thing I did a scroll through before I went for my 2nd. earl grey, lovely photo a bit dark but who cares its about Andre being up & about & doing things, aint modern technology great; like a lot of others I have a mobile phone i can only ring out or answer it mind you its hardly ever on I only need to recharge it every 4 weeks Narelle is always telling me off about it ,its only ever on in the car & for emergencys I don't know how to text or much else for that matter;

Hello all just a little idea for all who buy over the internet, we are only on pension & need to be careful so I went to the bank & got a credit card with a limit of $5oo.oo, that way you can't be robbed , also if the site you buy off starts with HTTP/ it should be safe, & there is always paypal, not too sure how that works, I do agree one has to be careful, I find Ovation & Andre' site good Jeanine Ann says Hans Music too ; Life is a gamble anyhow eh;

It's very nice to see a photo of Andre up and about.
I've been having troble getting posts to go through this month. I wonder if anyone else has too. I miss all the daily emails to see what everyone is talking about.

I did get your photo Jill and it is a great one! Thank you so much. I will try to get the photos on tomorrow or Saturday. Getting our new stove and fridge gave us a lot of unexpected work since we didn't know we would find one so quickly. When they said next day delivery I almost fell over. Usually you wait a week or so. But now that is done and I can concentrate on the important things - Andre and his wonderful fans! Big Hugs to you

It will take you to a main page, at the bottom of this page is a section called "featured fans". If you click on this you can see what a lot of the fans look like & maybe where they live.

hello all the above message was meant to be from me ,but we spent 12hr. at the hospital with Narelle in pain & on a drip did'nt get home till nearly 11pm. & looked here for relaxation & escape, she is ok today ? Jasper's howls had to be heard as soon as He hears the car He starts,He's very sooky with Nelly at the moment, even sits on the toot to watch her shower, life sure is a bucket of laughs if we could'nt do that we'd go slowly mad, Andre' is really our lifeline at the moment, without His music , I don't know were we'd be, to lay in bed & just let His music wash over you is soooooo good, Nelly loves to watch She went off watching Andre' with Christmas Around The World, so children & the snow He's surely got a sence of humour. take care all 'Have an Andre' Day;

Hi Fay, so sorry to hear about Narelle. Hope she is okay now. I presume they were giving her medicine for the pain. I just feel bad that she, and you, must go through this. For one thing, it's a very good photo. I think that it gives that feeling that Andre is looking straight at you. (meaning anyone). Do you think that when you took this picture he was thinking there's that little lady who "fell" for me?

looking directly at someone! At the
Reading,PA,(USA) concert Apr. 09, near
the end, I had gone up near the stage as people do. I was about 20 ft to the
Maestro's right. There were very few
people up front compared to other
concerts. The way Jeanine Ann talked
previously, she was seated on the left
side too up front. The way I remember
there was a lady with a camera. I've
seen a picture of Jeanine Ann with Andre' and she wasn't Jeanine Ann.
Anyway, there was a pause in the music
for some reason. I would say for 8-10
seconds he looked off to the right at me
sort of like an inquisitive look. Maybe
with the "Dutch" in me as in
"Pennsylvania Dutch", He thought I was
from MAASTRICHT. With all the people in
the audience, I thought it strange he would look at 1 person for a length of
time like that! In my mind, it was complimentary, but the occasion was
mysterious. The Maestro really is quite
a guy!

ill it seemed I ran out of things to say
in the GB. I noticed lately a lot of fans are saying how much DVD's and CD's
they have of the Maestro. I can't match
that. Trouble is I have so much, I could
just about start a combo video and music store of my own. I don't know how
it is with everybody else, it's been ages since I've bothered with a lot

point about the Maestro focusing on the Blonde. If you remember, I said there was a lady with a camera up front. She was not unattractive. If I was the Maestro, I would rather have focused on her more than me. It was quite elating
the way it went. When I got back to my lady-friend, I said: "did you see that,
he looked at me, he looked at me"!
Floating on air was the right phrase. I had to get new hats, too, my old ones
were too small. Your right in sitting
up front. After my 1st time up front
in Reading, I wouldn't want to sit anywhere else! But about the Maestro, he
is "THE MAESTRO" in more ways than one.
He certainly has made a difference. I
don't think anybody in the whole history
of the world has done what he's done for
a lot of people. I'm really surprised he
hasn't rec'd a Presidential Appointment!
Or should I be? Oh, well!

He was looking at me Josephine!! I don't know how I kept my cool. No my name is not on it and I don't care about that stuff. Andre deserves the accolades, not me. He is the one who does all the work and makes us happy. I just feel honored that they used the photo - whoever "they" is. I really try my best to get all these photos for you and the fans who may not see a live concert or have yet to see your first concert. For some who are older or sick or cannot travel the DVD's and photos are great to have. I know I will look at the concerts over and over for the remainder of my life, whatever that is. Andre's music is like a medicine which makes you feel better as soon as you hear it and especially when you see that face haha! I just never get tired of hearing or watching him. I never go anywhere without his CD in my car player. Well I have talked long enough. Big hugs to you!

good for you Maureen I just love all the music Andre plays, some of the pieces really seep into you soul, You Raise Me up does that & I found how to play that while I do this I felt really clever about that, I'm a slow learner at this but I love it, I find being on the computer stops my old brain from freezing,& listning to Andre' is the icing on the cake; Thanks for you thoughts & prayer Jeanine Ann I'm sure Our Ladys Ears must be burning I said so many Hail Marys on My fingers maybe thats why we have ten fingers they worked overtime yesterday its a waiting game now;

Jeanine Ann I have just found Andre's new dvd Roses from The South, on the ovation site $19.99 Australian on pre order, no sign of Moonlight Seranade??/, I look nearly every day for that, that new cd with "your photo on front" looks like it would be a pot pourrie of all His different pieces, its a great photo advertising A Great Musician eh:!

liked Florida better than PA. With me it's the opposite. When I lived in FL
and somebody would tell me they were from some other State and liked Fl, I would always say: " If they like FL, they must have had a hard life wherever they came from"! FL isn't the way it looks on the post-card! I spent 5 yrs
in Tennessee. They tell me I had a
Tennessee accent. I also spent a year in
Kyushu, Japan. Just a note, Japan is the only place I've been to, I could

Hi Deidre, I only discovered Andre in 2008 when he came to Australia. I live in Melbourne Australia and I am 70 years young. Funny story, back in the 70's [I think] I heard this piece of music on Classic Drive program and loved it so much I taped it. Many, many years later I hear it again, Toselli's Serenade played by Andre, the first time it was The Maastricht Salon Orchestra and Andre. What a coincidence. Cheers

JEANINE ANN AND JOSEPHINE: I,m still around, just watching the GB from afar. I usually scroll the GB once or twice
daily. It's now 10:40 AM, Nov.5th. The
1st time I saw your texts about Jan and me was at 8:35 AM, but duty beckoned elsewhere. Since they were on the 2nd and 3rd, I thought it was strange I
hadn't seen them before. As it is, this
time I scrolled from the beginning,
which I don't usually do, since I presume they are "comments" which I already saw. Other than that, whether I
would ever have seen the "comments"
about Jan and me, I really don't know! I
did notice a few weeks back Jan was among the missing. I went back to her last "transmission". It didn't look to
me, there was anything "peculiar" in
the "offing". As for me, I have sort of
a unique "life-style" that keeps me busy
6 days a week. I saw a "billionaire"
once said: "a person should take 1 day a
week to just relax"! It is a good idea!
That recharges your battery and gets
you ready to go with "gusto" the next 6 days! It was sort of a cross between not
having anything to say that was worth
anything to say and there were some "carpentry" projects I started in
So. Florida. I've been here for a yr and
a half, I've reached the point, it's time to get them finished! Which since I like everything done a certain way,it'll be some time 'til they're
finished. On the MAESTRO, I notice his
Tour-Schedule is the same. 1 day here,
1 day there, 1 day here, etc.etc.! I
thought all that was supposed to be
changed! I guess he knows what he's
doing. Myself, I try to learn by my
mistakes. I think I have a PhD. It's
starting to get cold in Reading. With
the way my ap't is situated, I don't
think I used $10 of electric for heat
last winter. I have 3 large windows
facing the sun during the day. They're
just like having 3 radiators, and this ap't holds heat like "crazy"! I've heard
of some out-of-sight electric bills here! Another time, EVERYBODY!

Welcome back Michael. Good for hear from you again. On the subject of the comments, if someone replies to a comment, that reply will go up under that original comment so you would need to scroll up to see it, or you can click on the most recent comment on the left of the blog page. I know we all have a life (other than Andre) and sometimes we must take care of things in that life. For me it tends to interfere with my "Andre life" because I could work on this blog or anything pertaining to Andre full time. Of course that is not possible because my family comes first. But sometimes we are all M.I.A. so to speak. I don't post a lot simply because I am behind the scenes maybe working on comments or an entry or searching for stories to post on the blog as do the other moderators. I have a difficult time taking a day to relax. Even on Sunday after church we go to Starbucks and then do the antique stores or walk around the malls. So I don't know which day I could pick to relax. But it is a very good idea. Come back soon Michael and have a great weekend.

Mexico City is a very beautiful place, I'm sure Andre is well aware of any potential problems,
anywhere in the world. None of our countries have a monopoly on "perfect".

I would like to leave a comment on the letter of Woody Fitch. I am lucky to have all André's DVDs.Each one has its own special character. I think that Maastricht 4 caters for everyone's taste, the most versatile of them all. The cleverness of the Maestro to let us, his fans, share the feeling with the Dutch crowd's excitement of being one of two countries in the world to play in the final of the world's greatest sports event.
Perhaps I love this DVD because I am a South African and André made me proud to be one.
Thank you André that you gave through this DVD a dream to the kids of the Hout Bay Project. Most of André's fans know the background of these kids and ONE man changed their lives. I think these kids didn't even know where Maastricht is when André announced in May that he is going to take them to his Hometown. Perhaps they thought it was just another township outside Cape Town. These kids performed in Maastricht as they are. No fancy clothes, no pretention. André, you are not only the King of the Waltz, you are also THE KING OF HUMANITY.

Oh Woody why don't you like Maastricht 4, its such a moving concert the music & those lovely new back drops I found it Quite emotional, with Kimmi & the African Children watch it again you might get a pleasant surprise, The Halleluj'ar Chorus blew me away, we saw a screening of it at the cinema If I could have bought a second ticket for the afternoon screening I would have , alas they were sold out, & we waited very impatiently for the dvd, Now we wait for Roses from the South, thank you for the preview Jeanine Ann that has made my day, I can understand now why the cd had a name change eh!The Music On the Island of Mainau sounds similar, its good to have matching pairs, we also have cds of the Sydney 2009, also Melbourne 2008, I did'nt take Him with me to Vinnies today many comments of why , 2CH. a radio station I like Has a Neil Diamond week-end on I enjoy His singing so left Andre' at home, am now going to put my feet up & listen to a Man play The Violin. xxx ooo Miow;

Deidre I live in Toongabbie N.S.W. Australia, we are about half way between the City of Sydney & The Blue Mountains, that will be as clear as mud but its the best way I can explain, Toongabbie was the third settlement when the convicts started to come to this country, Sydney First, then Parramtta[ means place of the eels], then Toongabbie third [means where the waters meet], there are a lot of small creeks here, & a lot of produce like fresh vegetables & sheep were raised here, what an awful time to have lived in we have a lot of violence in our history; sorry cant put pictures on at the moment will have to wait for my grandchildren to visit ; if you want a great dvd documentary try "My Music My Life" it will show you another side of Andre' & Pierre & their emotions, also has a clip of Andre's Father Andre' senior you'll love it I'm sure;xxoo

André's brother, Jean-Philippe, said about a year ago that their mother is still very healthy, still lives on her own in Maastricht and is still driving her car. She must be around 90 - 91 years old. What an incredible family!

I read somewhere, that André´s grandmother lived to be 103, in Marjorie's book is a picture where André and his Salon orchestra play for her 100st birthday.

Shirley, a year ago I almost believed it, but if he goes ahead with his crazy schedules, he will not make it, that proofed his illness and that can come back, the doctor on the Dutch TV said, it had never been cured completely.
I was often wondering, why there is no picture in Marjorie´s book from André´s mother, the father is in it, the siblings, the parents from Marjorie, even her best friend, the grandmother from André, but not his mother??????????????????????????

I am so worried when i look at the ammount of concerts he is packing in again.I hope he is strong enough to cope.Yes,I agree also. there is never any talk of his Mother.I would love to know about her.Is she alive still as has been suggested. If so oh my goodness how proud she must be.No reason why she shouldn't be around just strange she never gets mentioned.Mothers and sons are normally sooooooo close. xx

As of last summer Andre's mother was very much alive and living on her own. Someone said she still rode a bike in the town where she lives. In Marjories book there is a picture of Andre playing for his grandmother on her 100th birthday. Of course, don't know whether the grandmother was on the mother's or father's side. His father died relatively young. A few years ago in some interview Andre was asked what his mother thought of something -- His reply was "you will have to ask her." I think she is in her late 80s.

Gosh ,Andre' is 61 & I think the 3rd. child, If His Mother was still alive I think Andre' would have mentioned Her, she would be a good age, at least in Her late 90s, He mentions members of His Family a lot ,I've only heard Him speak of Her relating to His childhood; Jeanine Ann has known Him a long time no doubt she will know ?????

I always listen to ClassicFM every day - I have done since it started in the mid 1990's.
Which of Andre's UK concerts are you going to? I am going to Birmingham as it's nearest to me from Leicester.

Hi Brenda!
Unfortunately, I am disabled with chronic arthritis and a haematoma caused
by my heart bypass on which I have had
2 operations but still it comes back, so
it stops me from walking more than 2 minutes. Also I burnt the back of my leg
from my ankle to my thigh 8 months ago and though much has healed up, the back of my knee is taking so long to heal and leaving me in a lot of pain. I used
in my single days go to the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall
once a week. I must admit the prices were affordable then. Then when I married Keith we went once a month. Now
we are pensioners and both disabled I
just cannot get to places. I tried going to the Kenneth More Theatre in
Ilford twice, but I cannot sit for long
without putting my feet up. You wouldn't think after all my complaining
that I ran the Greenwich section of the British Red Cross for 17 years. I gave
lectures, ran the Youth Group with my husband, did fundraising, tracing for the International Red Cross, ran our
charity shop etc . Am a translator by
profession. Now look at me. Without
Andre, Keith and you lovely people to
keep me going, I don't know where I would be. I am so sorry to bore you to
tears. I am just having a really bad day. Do forgive me. I hope you will enjoy the Andre concert you will be going to. Hugs Sylvia

Sylvia, you are not a horrible person. I believe that everyone has their own stories, challenges, heartaches, illnesses that they face every single day. Because you/we speak of them, or "complain" as you say, doesn't make us a horrible person.
You see, we all come together here because we all have a special, unique, wonderful subject…Andre Rieu...we come together here to share our experiences our love of his music, how we came to hear of Andre and all the wonderful moments that Andre has brought into our lives. And we enjoy our Friends we’ve made here.
We also chat…we talk about this and that and everything in between…
If we could only speak when we didn't have pain, when we were happy, when everything was perfect in our lives, if we could only speak when we didn't have challenges...then most of us wouldn't speak at all!

My dearest Sylvia. Please don't concern yourself with having a down day. We all have them. It is good that you feel you can talk to us ,your friends. A problem shared is a problem halved.
It would be so good to meet you and Keith before Andres concert in April. I am however coming with my other half.We will be driving to London and have booked an hotel in Greenwich so maybe you could meet us there or at the O2 before the concert or anywhere else to suit you. We don't know that area too well so are open to your suggestions. Maybe if Gloria is going she could meet us too. Don't know how Jeanine Ann goes about giving out email addresses but I am happy for her to give you mine so that we can sort things out by email as it will be easier. Well "my" horse only came in 2nd but she gave it a good shot. Earlier today I was listening to my NPR radio station & heard an excerpt of an old radio & TV program, Sergeant Preston of The Yukon. I had been looking for a song , or piece of music for years, & there it was! Never knew the name of the piece or where it came from. Today I found out, it was the theme music played on this Preston of the Yukon. I found out it came from an opera I'd never heard of, Donna Diana. I love that piece of music!

Sylvia Of London, now thats a great title, thank you for sharing your problems, it says so much about how you feel, we are all friends here,no doubt most of us have a problem of some sort, I know I do, but it makes you feel better I hope sharing & caring, I think I've said this before, Andre' is more than a musician, I think we could give Him the title Phyciatrist,airing our feelings is so important, my Son who is not an Andre' fan like we are, He says He likes Him a bit But I hear Him singing along at times; well we were discussing Andre's music, & came up with the thought That Andre's arrangements of Music must touch a part of the brain that triggers good feelings, this is not medical science but maybe on the way to it?????????

Deidre I should be so fortunate, we were at the Sydney concert but not that close to the stage,it was a good concert, I have a laugh every time I watch it, the Man from Belfield he made that suburb world famous, & when The Dame dropped Andre,s violin the gasps from the audience, I think that dvd was recorded on the second night ; to get close to the stage is a bit more than we could afford, it was nice to be there, but because we had seen Andre' on His promotional tour earlier in the year at Blacktown,& got 2cds autographed,we had just a table in between us, I said to Narelle now I can die happy to look into those lovely eyes, words cannot describe my feelings, to tell this Great Man that He does so much for others was a privilege, there are moments in time that we live forever, thats it for me it was a super day, We also have Mirusia's Autograph she seems to be a very down to earth person she has worked hard but I feel she is very fortunate person to be nurtured by Andre', I wonder what History will say about all this 50 or so years down the track, life is interesting eh; Madam Butterfly love your words could'nt say better myself thank you !!!

KAY, lovely poem- wish Andre could read it.The legend Neil Diamond is performing in South Africa next year for the first time ever. I guess the World Cup Soccer did us good. More performers are now more informed about out beautiful and developed country and what it has to offer. We all live here in peace and harmony and are "music crazy"! Can someone translate Gehaktballen, I imagine its something to eat, if Andre' is cooking thats good news He must be feeling much better, I know He loves to cook, I remember Him saying in an interview, that He cooks as Marjorie is not fond of cooking, & as a boy He used to cook for the family, He can come & cook for me anytime ha Ha I wish!! Good for Neil Diamond I have always liked His music last year I bought a dvd of His concert at Madison Square Garden , very good His music is infectious, many moons ago I worked for King Gee, they used one of His pieces as an advertising theme "Forever In Blue Jeans" I heard it every day & went looking for His music, different from Andre' but very good , likewise I heard this guy singing the theme song to Star Trek Enterprise looked up the name & who did I find but Russell Watson, His range of voices amazes me, He can sing a bit like Rod Stewart & then go into either tenor or baritone I have a cd where He recorded with one voice & recorded on top of that another voice tone clever man;

Fay, Gehaktballen means most likely : Meatballs, I translate ltterally, I do not speak Dutch, but Dutch is a lot like the German dialect "Platt" , gehakt means in German Gehacktes, mince or ground beef in English

Andre's brother wrote that his mother is very much alive and the grandkids love to go visit her. He said she still drives and came to visit them in France, this was last year, first time she was mentioned that I heard in an interview from Netherlands where we visit each year.

Ovation is an all round excellent company to deal with, from watching their fabulous programmes (which they show with no interruptions from advertisements) to buying from their online shop. I might be biased as I've won two of their competitions! First was a backstage pass to meet Helmut Lotti and second was two free tickets to see Daniel O'Donnell's concert in Newcastle. Besides Andre, Helmut and Daniel are my other two 'obsessions' and they both talk about their mothers often. That's what prompted me to ask if anyone knew anything about Andre's.

year. Hardly any bangers, so no dogs
barking. Was much relieved.
As I am feeling much better today, Keith
is taking me out to the Pizza Express (of which we are members) tomorrow. I
usually eat the Veneziana as some of the money goes to the Venice in Peril Fund and Keith has Pollo al Forno (chicken). They only use free range
ingredients and stick to authentic Italian pizzas, i.e. no stuffed crusts,
or fruit like pineapple on top, etc.

Sylvia You sound a little Happier take life a day at a time, this is not a site for advertising BUT a few months ago I bought a bio magnetic underlay for my bed, after a few weeks I was so pleased with it I bought a king single for Narelle, I can recommend them lying in bed on one & watching a dvd of Andre' of course is as close to Heaven on earth as I'll ever get, by the way Sylvia my cat Jasper will only allow me to watch or listen to Andre' do you think He has good taste;????? was the meatballs an answer to Gehaktballen :???? meatballs is easier to pronounce for me any way; & yes Susan Boyle not only has a lovely voice I think she has a nice personallity she can laugh at herself which is refreshing, as someone we all know says "Music is good for your health", The Man who plays The Violin knows;

I have just rung up Channel 5 TV. The
documentary is called "Andre Rieu:The Man,The Legend". They said they only have dates of programmes 2 weeks at a time and suggested I ring them on 22nd
November to find out exactly when it is
going to be transmitted. I did try to
wheedle them into letting me buy a copy
when it is shown, but they can't.
By the way, I told you Keith is taking
me out for lunch today, well it is pouring non-stop and there is a forecast
of 50mph winds and structural damage.
However, we shall be intrepid and brave
the elements! The forecast is bad for
c.2 weeks. Forecast for tonight is temperature below freezing -2 celsius.
Thank goodness we live in the South-East.It will be much worse for people in the North.

I was just thinking of something, when you guys talked about André´s cooking, well my dear friend who died of Leukemia in 2OO2, she saw André in the 9Os on a German cook show when he cooked his famous dish: Stampftopf with Grapkes, she said to me:" I have to tell you right away, André plays better the violin than he cooks, his Stampftopf looked to me like eaten before, the way he mashed the salad under the potatoes for 2O min.!" When I saw it myself, I agreed, haaaaaaa, I rather eat the salad next to the mashed potatoes, everything else is just like my grandmother made it , too.

Hi all. Do you know what. I wouldn't care a bit what the food tasted like. Just to have Andre cook a meal for me would be a dream come true. I would eat it whatever.Just been doing my ironing watching 'The best of Andre Rieu Live'The first song. You are my hearts desire( I wish) is fantastic. Andres beautiful twinkling eyes look sooo blue with the reflection from his blue tux. I wonder if he realised how handsome he was/is or if like me he looks in the mirror and thinks OMG. I wonder what he thinks of his looks. Do we see ourselves differently to what others see. I suppose we must as the saying goes'Oh to see ourselves as others see us' I suppose that refers to looks and personality xx

That's really good Shirley. I don't have pets but a friend of mine finds it really amusing that whenever I stay with her, her pets,whether dogs or cats always head straight for me and won't leave me alone. They even forsake her bedroom at night an end up in mine. So they must see something in me they like xx

HI to all: During my birthday my friends and I watched several Andre dvd's. My one friend just told me today that she and her hubby bought their first Andre dvd: Live in Australia, and they are now totally hooked! They said that Andre is a wonderful performer, has excellent interaction with his audience and that they have never experienced anything like this before. Each month they are going to add another dvd to their collection. One more fan added to Andre's list of millions. COOL!!

Hi Steve, Not quite sure what to make of that, in an interview he said he wasn't cutting concerts but would stop other things such as opening buildings etc. Another interview he said something like he was cutting back on performances to give him time to rest i was thinking he might mean the length of time of concerts...

Kay, I think you are right about length of concert. Refer to the "Andre Rieu Resumes Concert Tour".I read it as if he still plans to do the tours but maybe just limit the time. It doesn't sound like he is cutting any concerts already planned.

Hi Steve. When did Andre say he wasn't going to do as many concerts as planned? Now you have got me really worried in case he cancels the UK ones again. I don't think he intends to do that though because he is promoting himself here on several shows soon which I feel sure he wouldn't be doing if he was thinking of cancelling. I do worry though as he has a really heavy schedule again. Lotsaluv xx

Inge, to my cat Jasper I am his servant to do his bidding as he wants, Siamese males are very demanding, & I guess if you love Siamese as I do you must accept that as part of their being who they are, I think The males are beautiful but typicially male, the females are a bit different, I prefere a female, when I rang to let the breeder know that my last cat had needed to go on a trip over The Rainbow Bridge' he very kindly offered me a kitten free, { they usually cost from $500.oo upwards] we are happy with our lord & master, for he surely is that, I can live without a dog, but not a cat, maybe its the witch in me, I find the love a cat gives really is something to be treasured, mind you the orders he gives are something else, but thats The Siamese, I like all cats but am crazy about The Siamese, ;

My son gave me a kitten for my birthday. Her breed is a Mocca Bajimbi (related to the Siamese breed) and she is beautiful. I'm actually a dog person and little Lulu is my first cat. She fills my heart with so much joy and is such an amazing little creature. She is now seven months old and I had to take her in today to be spayed, for she is driving us crazy!My life will be empty without her and my "pet" Andre. Give Jasper a kiss from me.

Re suppositions about Andre's cutting back. I don't think he can (or will) make the concerts shorter. Maybe they will have some days off on long tours or will do shorter tours. But now that they have to make up what they missed this year, I don't see that happening next year. I am afraid he won't be here in the spring of 2011 as he always is because he has too many to make up. My own opinion, and it is just my opinion, is that rest doesn't have much to do with it. Vertigo can strike at any time and is caused by either inflammation of the nerve or by crystals in the liquid hitting the nerve. A sudden move, getting off a plane, etc. can cause it. It's possible he may have an episode once in awhile and he will have to be prepared for that, but I don't think the number of performances makes any difference. It can happen wherever he is and whatever he is doing, even sitting up in bed quickly can set it off. Mine went away but it took 1 1/2 years. There may be a time when he has to step away, or have someone take over for a couple of numbers. I don't think the audience would mind, but that may make him too uncomfortable. It's putting himself and his problem right out there. I'm sure the audience would understand completely.

Hi all. Well the way I see it is, we all need to balance our 'work' amd 'rest' time, which Andre has not been doing. So vertigo aside, whatever caused it,he still works far to many hours with not enough time off so even if he didn't get this rotten virus he still needs to slow down,but as we can see from his schedule he isn't.But then we can give our opinions and worry all we like. In the end it is Andres life and he makes his own decisions.We must just all hope and pray they are the right ones. We love him so dearly and only wish eveything good for him and of course his lovely family xx

I agree with you about "balance" Josephine. Remember how we all were amazed
& wondered how Andre kept up with it all, he seemed invincible, & then remember
we all remarked at how tired he looked lately? When you are tired & stressed
you are more susceptible to any little "bug" out there. Well one finally caught him.
We've also agreed he might should slow down a bit, but do you think he will do that?
He, who always believed "the show must go on" has found out that it can't always.
But hey, he's had a good track record hasn't he? I really do hope he slows down a bit.
Like Inge said, better fewer concerts than none at all. But I have to believe that Andre
will do as he likes anyway, Pierre will watch him.

I enjoyed Mirusia`s Forever and Always release on the Ovation channel, and much preferred it to the cd. Songs were in a different order, and only Dancing to the skies was missing.Perhaps they couldn`t get permission to use the video from the german tv, where Mirusia sang and walzed with Andre. I was pleased to see Carmen and Mirusia singing Send in the Clowns,as the Manau concert has not been released as yet.Mirusia sang AVA MARIA in a church, as opposed to her stage appearance, and nice backgrounds for Botany Bay and Feed the Birds. There was no chatter, only music, and you ladies suffering Andre withdrawal symptoms would prefer this over the cd

I really believe Andre' is a sensible person, He will do what He believes He can do,when you think about just before that infection of His vestibular nerve, there was so much happening,to England to play before The Queen, then to also play for Queen Beatrix,all the worry & stress about were they going to make it to S.A.then all the emotion that was unleased In S.A. interviews promotions, the children,in a plane out a plane back in again , My God its amazing our Beautiful Man did'nt have a nervous breakdown as well , I'm sure both Marjorie & Pierre will insist on a bit less here & there, but I believe Andre' will do what Andre' wants to do within reason, life for Him must go on He would rather die than give it all up, it His Dream His Life We need Him but also He needs us for without people to play for & entertain, I believe He would not enjoy life, I could be wrong but I've watched a lot of interviews, a lot of dvds entertaining His Public is His lifeblood, I'm not sure He'd be Happy just pottering around, He'd become old & die, I don't want to be around when that happens; I don't know why I feel I know Andre' so well, perhaps thats part of the charm He shares with us. Deidre, what a lovely birthday if your cat is related to The Siamese, I know why she is off to the vets, nothing cam compere to a female calling its ear piercing, what colour is she & does she have the blue eyes? I'm a real sucker for eyes, my Jasper has blue eyes, at times they are crossed, this is a fault that happens with that breed, I just laugh at him when He does it, & cats do have a way of encouraging LOVE,sometimes when Jasper has been naughty & I scold Him He looks at me with those eyes as much as to say Oh mum I love you or he will jump up & rub my face with his nose & if one of us goes out without saying goodbye he races around & makes a most uncat like sound as if to say how dare she go out & not say goodbye;;;;; Debbie I love your poem it says a lot thanks for sharing it with us, have a lovely Andre' day all still say a prayer for our lovely Man that His ear will not let Him down & that all goes well , I think this is all we can do , any better ideas???;;;Debbie that happens to me with the security number ,you just click it & come back to here & put the new number in, hope that works;;

Hi Josephine, thank you for asking but I am here. I guess I should explain that the moderators are always here behind the scenes so to speak. We can post either from the blog page or here in the control panel watching and approving the comments. Here is where we post the stories we find like the story about Maastricht and all the other entries that you see. There is no Victoria posting here; it is always one of the moderators like Prudence, Bill or myself and of course Sally. So depending on how busy we are looking for news on Andre and getting the pages ready to post, we may not have a lot of time to chat. But we are always here reading all your wonderful messages. Hope this explains the entries and why I sometimes don't time to post.

Fay you were asking about what you think Andre will do or try to do in the future. I think this photo tells the whole story. (sorry it is not clear but my scanner is not the best) Music is everything to Andre and I know that as long as he has breath within him he will do all he can to bring this music to his fans. I don't think he could ever give up. It is part of him; I can see that. I just pray that he can continue as he wants to not just for our sake but for his.

Jeanine Ann I read that statement in the book & felt Andre' must have had some input to it as the book is very tastefull, I also love the month of march photo in The Calendar, if I live so long that one will be in a frame, they are all good ,but to me that face says all that I believe Andre' to be, its very expresive,& I feel He is smiling just for me [ which He's not.} we have just received the book Marjorie wrote about the twins its a nice & interesting read, now we hold our breath & wait for Roses From The South I think The music on that dvd is similar to You Raise Me Up, you know although its not right to compare dvds I think Andre' just keeps getting better, maybe thats not the correct word to use, I often think well you won't do any better than this & what does The lovely Man do Bingo He surprises me ,I felt S.A. was IT, then along comes Maastricht 4 with those beautiful backdrops, the children, Kimmi & everyone else what a concert The Man surely knows His Business does'nt He;!!!! night all I'm off early I need some MUSIC, Whos Music;????

hi Sylvia Hope you are ok. I just typed in Alan Titchmarsh and lots of different sites came up I don't think though there is actually any information about tomorrows show with Andre. Just says Andre is his guest. If you type in Alan Titchmarsh tickets, it will tell you how to apply for them. May be a bit late now though as the show finishes soon.Hope this helps Big hugs xxx

Yes Josephine, doesn't Andre look great!!!! He looks so happy doing what he loves to do. I would just love to see the A.T. show. Is anyone taping this show? There are so many shows here in America that we cannot see. Of course there are no shows which Andre is ever on. We were lucky to see him on The Today Show. But anyway I don't know how long the interview will last on A.T. show but I would DV-R it and upload it to YouTube. It would depend on how long the interview lasts.
Okay getting ready to put the fan photos on. I wanted to do this about a week ago but so many things came up and articles on Andre for the blog come first. I just got a photo from Deirdre so I can really add a photo anytime they come in! Big Hugs

Good morning to all you lovely people, today I was lucky for some reason I was able to have a sleep in, this is trully rare for me, I went on a Fairytale trip with Andre' last night, its on that dvd that the whole crew were on location at a place called Grinzing at a cafe where very young wine is served Karel Moik, was singing, My Wine , My Wine too many takes had to be made, hence everyone got well & trully merry, not Andre' though, also for those of you who don't have this dvd, Pierre shows the excavation in the middle of the square, going back to Ancient Roman times, & how they built a Large platform over it for safety & conservation, thats where the audience all sat quite amazing , also the way in which Pierre & The Crew are always sensitive to the sites they "build on, I should'nt be surprised though its so interesting to see a set being prepared & the way that place is respected I love the concerts but so enjoy the documentarys, you see how much work & planning go into a concert, Really the concerts are the finished Polished Product, all you lovely people in The U.K. are getting ready for a night to remember Andre' will soon be with you, enjoy this Lovely Man & His People, memories are so precious are they not , where would we all be without them, some more precious than other I know you will have a night to remember. xxx ooo Miow to Cotton

Well, no more suppositions I guess. Saw the interview on Dutch TV where he says that he does not plan to cut down his concert schedule, only cut down on the "extras," appearances, ribbon cuttings, that type of thing. I imagine this upcoming North America tour will be a true test and probably Andre and all of his fans will be on pins and needles to see how it goes. Let's hope, swimmingly.

JOSEPHINE,BRENDA,GLORIA,SYLVIA and all the UK fans, enjoy every moment and think of us missing out!FAY- my cat Lulu is three shades of brown(from there the name Mocca Bajimbi) and she has green eyes. I will send Jeanine Ann a photo of Lulu for the blog for all to meet my lovely little darling. She is currently wearing a cone/bucket over her head to prevent her from removing her stitches.

Sorry to hear about Lulu - I know how you feel as our Boxer has had a cone/lampshade/bucket (call it what you will) for three weeks. She went on the beach and something irritated her eye and an ulcer developed. She is such a good girl though and keeps it on.

Although it was lovely seeing the Maestro on Alan's programme. I thought
they might have a chat, play a piece of music (he played Roses from the South)
and then close the programme. He played near the beginning, then I sat through
that ghastly common woman Jordan etc. and he did not come on again . So although it was, of course, lovely to see the great man again, it was disappointing how little time he was given.
Don't mind me. Probably it's my age. I do grumble a lot these days!

Ohhhh. My heart is in my mouth.I am quivering all over. Andre looked absolutely stunning.He looked sooo happy.That cute little quarky mouth thing that drives me insane. As usual only played one song Roses from the South.I had a smile on my face the whole time. Goodness knows what I am going to be like at his concert in April. Better take some smelling salts.

Although of course I was over the moon to know Andre was here in the UK surely he didn't fly over here just for a 3 minute slot on the Alan Titchmarsh show when he is supposed to be taking it easy. I thought with christmas coming near, and the fact that I cannot have Andre to myself then maybe I could buy the men of my family this aftershave. do any of you know if it is available to buy in u.k. Deidre Your Lulu sounds so precious, I do love cats,I have conversations with my boy I know He understands, for I said to him last week, go & get Nelly for me He went in & drove her crazy until she came & said whats with Jasper he won't shut up, he got her anyway we do have a mad household, run by a Cat, hes asleep next to the computer on placemats I put there just for him; I wonder does Andre' have a cat I know He loves His dogs but I could well & trully imagine Him with a cat sitting on His lap if He ever relaxes, its good news to know He's out & about very good news; today in Australia its the 13th. Yes, the face is beautiful of course because it's Andre himself...but it also shows his emotions and laughter, his feelings, thoughts and his music and what it means to him.
Andre puts his heart and soul into his music and makes it perfect for me, for us. Music has always been extremely important in my life, I love it, although I can't sing or play an instrument of any kind, I love music. I believe that Andre plays the most perfect music I have ever heard...you are right Sally, nothing else compares.

FOOTBALL! like evey weekend! yikes, I don't watch all that much anymore. To me, the "glory days"
have gone. Occasionally I'll watch a college game on Sat. afternoons. My teams are Alabama,(the Crimson Tide),
and Notre Dame. Used to watch a lot of college football with my dad, once he asked me what I liked about football.
I said "halftime". I thought he would never stop laughing. But I loved the precision of the marching bands.
Everyone's talking about Christmas already, I just want to concentrate on Thanksgiving first.
I'm a bit of an old fashioned traditionalist.

Well Kay, the "proper" charts are important in my mind because they are the "people's" charts...they are the charts the people buy from or see often...or at least one of the many charts. I think the people access these charts that are not like "Billboard", because they are easily accessable.
I go to our local Target store and there is that display of about 30 or so cd's that you can punch a button and listen to parts of a song on each cd if you wish...in the Target store that I go to, Andre is listed as the #1 Classical Artist in America, and you can punch the little button and listen to Andre...I do that every time I go by this display.
I was quite happy that Andre is a number one choice on this display, as he should be.

Sorry Inge I wanted to get that information up for you but was busy. I did order it only because there are a lot of songs together on the CD that I really like. I should make a CD or two with all my favorites but never seem to have the time to do it. I love them all but I have so many favorites which I would love to have all on one CD. Andre always picks the most beautiful songs but there are a few of the Strauss polkas I could do without. Besides there may be a photo I do not have! hahaha

Haaaaaaa, I have all the photos I can master and the Strauss Polkas belong to my favorites, but I just play the CDs now in the car because at home I have the bal de la cour and last night we had a hole hour of André Rieu on the Radio a celebration for him, I prefer the DVDs where I can see them all and also hear the music.

Sally I think the music & the face goe so well together, the music is sooo beautiful , & that face has sooooo many expressions, I laugh at some of them His face is one that I can never get tired of looking at, I showed my son Andre's new calendar, his comment was Mum don't you have enough where are you going to put Him; I wish you could see my Jasper , nelly is eating yogurt jasper smells it as soon as its open he just loves it;

Hi Everyone, wouldn,t it be great if we could see a Christmas show on our tv channels at Cristmas time, If you live in England I am sure that no matter how much we loved the Marcambe and Wise show and the 2 Ronnies, and those films which are repeated every year, That an Andre Christmas Concert would make a most welcome change and a real christmas present for his many fans,

Hi everyone on a wet chilly typical November UK day. Yuk
Was going to watch our Beloved on the TV today but it was Forever Vienna which I have watched a million, trillion ,zillion times. Well not quite that many times but quite a lot,and the bloomin adverts kept cutting in every 15 minutes anyway so I reluctantly had to switch Andre off mid'fiddle'. Hope he didn't mind.!! Looking forward to Moonlight Serenade arriving on Tuesday. I didn't buy it for the CD. I wanted the free DVD with it which I believe is from Australia,which I don't have. Oh well. Not long to Christmas now so better get my card list out and think about buying presents. I don't like to do it in July as some people do. Takes all the excitement of the Christmas Season out of it.Have a Happy Andre day all xx

Hi all. With all this talk of Christmas I am really in a festive mood now. I can almost taste the turkey. Just had a cup of tea and a mince pie. Got the smelly cinnamon oil out. Got Andre and Jingle bells on you tube. All I need now is Father Christmas !!! I agree. Wouldn't it be great to have a Christmas Andre Concert on TV. I always watch the Christmas in Vienna Concert but Andre would be the icing on the Christmas cake.Especially if it was on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. I would be Jingle belling all the way xx

Judith lovely to see your up,great too all the Andre' news is'nt it, makes me feel a lot happier as I sure it does for all of us; for those of you after a Christmas dvd,& don't have this one, "Christmas Around The World" is such a lovely one to watch & enjoy, its so funny instead of balloons falling there is snow & for an added bonus if you can get the compilation you get the cd, all is Beautiful & very much a Christmas celebration;; Deidre that cone is a pain for furrie babies, but without it they will bite the stitches out, your LULU will so much better in her attitude, she will give you so much love, better you than an old tomcat, I bet you are wondering whatever you did before Lulu arrived into your family, you are now Her servant for life, enjoy, does she like Andre's music, my Jasper does, we have had a few of Andre's concerts on The Studio channell of late Iv'e kept them on the IQ box, its so funny to see him come running from my bedroom as soon as he hears the music,likewise I sometimes put a cd on the computer when I'm here, He will rub the side of the screen, I often tell people this ,I look at their faces I'm sure they think I'm nuts, but its really true, the same as I'm going off to sleep, if I put anyone else on, I either get my hand ear or hair nibbled, I went through a time when I had bits out of my scalp where a little claw had made me aware of His feelings, my hairdresser asked me did I know what was wrong with my scalp, when I told him he did give me a strange look, life is interesting;so now I just put Andre' on & we are both happy & I have no more bits out of myself, have a great Andre' day all;;;;xxx ooo

Hi, I do have a list [quite a long] one of Andre's music and I have transferred them from DVD to a video tape which is very easy and I can enjoy them all the time. My most favourite is where Andre dances at Schonbrunn in the ballroom. Just read the latest post, does that mean he has lots of debt and does he still have use of his Stradivarious? I do hope things improve for him as that would be a big worry to carry around.

Lovely cd,Bela's voice reminds me a little of Richard Tauber;;;;can anyone tell me what type of bird that is, Andre'in a couple of His dvds has a similar bird that I'm not familiar with, it has a very large wing span & flys so elegantly, its not a bird we see in Australia; I do hope that concert in Germany for Z.D.F. is made into a dvd, especially as its a Christmas one, ;

Hi Everyone, Watched Andre on This Morning (UK) it was a LIVE show and he looked extremely well, he joked that he had brought the sun out in London. Played Roses from the South, beautiful. He looks much more rested i would say, and fitter.I've already watched it 3 times can't get enough of him fantastic.

This morning I was reading some music news & it seems a German musician
forgot & left his million dollar 1748 Italian violin on the train. Lucky for him it was found & kept
& returned to him, but when he finally got it back he had a panic attack & had to seek
medical attention, just at the thought of losing it forever. I guess that's happened before to others,
I would probably have more than a panic attack!
Also , just in case anyone wants to buy one, in April, Christy's is set to auction off a 1729 Strad,
expected to sell for 1.5 million. Anyone?

Hi I think it was Judith who mentioned Snicker Doodles. Just looked up the recipe on line. They look scrummy. I love cinnamon so I am definitely going to give them a go. You never know . Wow, TWO tweets from Andre in one day! Thank you for sharing it with us. Andre does not only bring out the sun in London, whenever we see him he brings out the sunshine in all of us. He is my sunshine and makes me happy and sad- is that possible?? I support STEVE, we have to buy whatever products of Andre in order to help him get back on his feet again. By the way, André said on an interview once when asked if he likes cats, that he is a dog and bird person and he has fish, but he does not really know cats and has no connection to them. Well, it looks like he loves animals, so perhaps he likes more the dog because they respect humans as their boss, where cats think we are their servants, haaaaa, I do like the free spirit of a cat, she is smart and in her way also loyal, just does what suits her best, even loving us.

Deidre, thank you for sharing your beautiful Lulu, she has a very intelligent face, very unusual colours, & her markings, look at the big > at the side of her eyes almost looks like someone has drawn them there, Bless you all; like you I get excited when I see a new tweet But 2 is past excited; My Narelle has a respite outing on Mondays A young lady picks her up & they go shopping, or to the movies or whatever Nelly wants to do , yesterday they were discussing my Christmas GIFT, you know what they came up with, A Ticket to each other to go to a concert not just anyones concert but the one the only Andre' Rieu, they had gone to the library where there are computers to see if tickets were available, quite good ones too I think, they are on the side near the stage on the first rise, I am quite amazed that any seats were available,we were on the first rise last time but too far from the stage Andre' looked like the little Andre'from the bit with the magician in Wonderland, the concert at The Efterling, anyhow I am quite excited as on this night also I believe The Seekers will be performing, 13th.May close to Mothers Day as well ; I am now off to have my vegemite &toast & my earl grey had to share my news first today I woke up with Joy in Soul;have a lovely Andre' day all;;;;

I can relate to this. I am a psychic and actually got prior knowledge of Andre`s health. The last four months I have had balance issues with no medical reason. when I read about Andre`s problem I knew why I had the problem. It has now dissapeared. I am reminded of the first time Andre` came to Australia on his promotional tour. My friend Rose and I booked into a nearby motel and arrived at the shopping centre at 6.30am to be sure to get a seat. we were in the front as I also have a disability. When Andre` came out
around 2.00pm.The cheers were deafening. Then he signed Autographs. Well I walked up to him and as he signed
my DVD I put my hand on his shoulder and whispered "well done Andre`, keep up the good work". The next thing a security guard said "don't touch him". I felt terrible as it was a habit of mine. I almost passed out. I was taken for a drink of water when I became aware of Andre` checking to see if I was ok. then he returned to his signing. What a wonderful man. My love goes out to him every day. I was 66 then now 68 I still remember the feeling of touching this amazing man, and the shock the security guard gave me. much love to all

I can understand the no touching. There are some crazy fans out there who sometimes
do weird things. I'm not just meaning Andre either, a lot of celebrities have had fans step
over the boundries, like snip a piece of hair or grab a piece of clothing to name a few.
We should realize that they don't know who we are or what our intentions are. What , to us,
is a seemingly innocent gesture could appear to the guard as a potential problem.
I guess that's the price of fame isn't it?

I know it is on several CD's but that is my husband's favorite and he would like to see Andre playing it. For instance, I only have one video where Andre plays Meditation and that was from "The Vienna I Love". I would like to see him playing it now. Thanks. When is Jutta's baby due? Hugs

Thank you Inge, I don't think I have Strauss Party but out of all the CD's I have, I feel I must have it somewhere. I don't have Walzertraum but I have the DVD of the Cruise ship which I thought was the same and the song is not on there. I know there are several version of Walzertraum so maybe I do not have the correct one. I will check them. Thanks for your help. Hugs

Walzertraum is the one with the cruise ship and I just checked it, the "Sous le ciel de Paris" does not contain j´attendrai, I think it is on no DVD only on a lot of CDs from the "Salon orchestra" .
Forgot, Jutta´s baby will be born July 1st or around that date.

Hi Sally you're 100% right. I was introduced to Andre by my friends only 2 years ago and he has been performing for 30 years! But, once you see one of his dvd's you are totally hooked. I even went to his first concert ever here in South Africa and now I wonder how can anybody not know about this outstanding performer? I feel that every music lover just have to know this man!! Life is surely very dreary without him, don't you think? I've already booked tickets for 2011.Deidre (South Africa) Andre fan No 1.

Everyone's Favorite Violinist has taken to the stage again! I think I heard the world sigh with relief to see Andre Rieu looking so well as he lead his Johann Strauss Orchestra in rehearsals and during those 4 minutes of sunshine in London.
Mexico is on the horizon for Andre Rieu's tour! Sold out concerts, seats filled with the wonderful and beautiful Fans in Mexico are sure to help lift Maestro's spirits and welcome him back to the concert tours where he plays the music he loves for the fans he loves.
Then it is on to the USA where many will be blessed with the music only Andre can provide. Every seat is a good seat so if you do not have a ticket yet.. be sure to get one soon.

JEANINE ANN, thank you for posting the videos and photos. Andre looked stunning in his younger days but is getting better and better as he grows older-just like wine. I would say: AGED TO PERFECTION. What do you ladies think!? Bavo!!! to all the MODERATORS ,as Andre would say, for your fantastic work. Prince Williams engagement made me think- wasn't Pierre at one stage engaged to Suzanne Ehrens, or do I have it all wrong? What happened and to whom is he married to? Deirdre,yes! Lulu is adorable. I have a cat named Jazz & she is adorable too, but
I think the only sound she's attracted to is my voice.
You are right, Pierre & Suzan were an item at onr time but went their own separate ways.
Pierre married a girl named Eefje & Suzan married Mitch Mulder & they now live in Norway.
I think Pierre met Eefje while at Efteling, the place where Andre made the In Wonderland dvd.
Someone else can expand on that or correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry Elizabeth I should have mentioned that it is Lagerfeld who makes Jako. You are not a pest. You may have to look around. In fact, I think I sent for mine. Okay I ordered from Perfume.com or if you want to call: 1 800 645-9251 I don't remember the cost but I remember it was very inexpensive. I would imagine Andre uses a more expensive version (less alcohol) of it. I think it smells nice. Hope you can find it. Hugs

Jeanine Ann, He does look & sound good, can't understand the words, but soooo good to see & hear His lovely self,hope they make a dvd of that concert, we have'nt had a Christmas concert for a long time,, & I don't think we will get that broadcast down here in Australia, He seem to be forgotten by the media here, if it were not for this site one could die from imagination worry, so you see you have not only saved my sanity also my life;;;; Deidre your Lulu has great taste in music, my Jasper really makes me laugh I wonder is it the high pitch of the violin,its said a cats hearing is far more tuned to sound than a human, but Jasper has choices, He does'nt like Russell Watson, or Neil Diamond put Andre' on & he comes running, I have told friends this, they look at me as if to say oh you poor thing one person I know even went so far as to tell me I had a great imagination , oh well I know what I know, what a shame your Lulu & my Jasper could'nt have got together they would have made lovely babies, alas He doesnt have the family jewels anymore a bit like Your LULU, if you go back to the August site & scroll down you will see Jasper, ; Have a Rieully lovely day all;xxx ooo, miow to Cotton & Lulu;;

was so HAPPY to hear the good news about William and Kate. I go way back with the Royal Family. Watched Diana's
Wedding and have collected anything and everything available on Her, was at home when the SAD breaking news broke that she had been killed. Followed up on everything, bought all the books and have followed Her boys grow into such wonderful men that she would be so PROUD of! So, I was so happy to hear that William and Kate have made their happy announcement. Their loving eye contact as they spoke, was something that Diana would have been so very happy to see, that her son was sharing his love with a woman of HIS choice, and to top off this Modern Day Love Story, he gave his beloved Kate, his beloved mom's engagement ring to seal this heart touching day. Oh, I just know Diana is watching over "HER BOY'S"!
and she IS smiling. As for me, I have an emotional tear and tug at my heart, as I ponder how wonderful it would have been, if Diana would have lived to see this 'Very Special Day'! Thanks for letting me talk, I could go on and on.

Sylvia,of London I have never wished to live anywhere but Australia, but at the moment how good it would be to take up that offer for accom. & Andre's concert never mind I can be there in spirit can't I , I'm not sure of the conversion rates , tickets here are for the first 5 rows$1,200 dollars, on the first rise$200, dollars,way up with God $75. dollars, we went for the $200.oo seats on the side first rise near the stage, I guess just to be there is a bonus, I wonder what I did before I found this Great Man, apart from loving Him & His music I also learnt to do this,I've learnt & shared so much, you see Andre' not only plays His music, he encourages us to learn other useful things even this sharing is so good one does'nt feel alone anymore, He deserves Social Worker of the year award, who else could encourage all of us to pray around the world, by the look of Himself those prayer were trully answered, what a Blessing;

Oh Andre. You set my heart on fire. You do need a dance partner though.What a waste dancing with only your violin for a partner. If I close my eyes I can imagine myself twirling round and round the floor with you until I am dizzy. You have the perfect physique for a dancer . So tall,slim and elegant.So glad you are well again. In answer to Fay Roberts and all of the fans who watched the video from ZDF, Andre was saying that he was rehearsing for his first concert and that he is back again! He talked briefly about his illness and said he was in bed and he awoke and the room was spinning around and he did not know what was going on. With lots of rest the infection has slowly disappeared but financially it was hard because he had to pay his staff of 120 their wages. In the future Andre will reduce his schedule and not be involved in every event but said he will still play for ZDF on Christmas Eve. But Christmas Day is special for Andre. He said I am always home with my family at Christmas. It has always been that way from the time the boys were small.

I understand and I should have known better as not only have I been an entertainer myself I have also been a security guard. I can't imagine what came over me, except Andre`s magical personality and the hype of the moment.

Judith before I go off to dream the email you sent about 4cats arrived but in a script that would need a genius to decipher it was all numbers & letters & like you I have a lot of Diana stuff, my grandaughter bought me a beautiful hard cover book with many beautiful pictures of that beautiful vibrant person, I still shed tears for Her I thought of Her yesterday When I looked at her ring & thought how beautiful that William has given that ring to Kate who will be a future Queen I felt Diana would approve of that gesture to me it seems like He's saying look down on us with love & blessings Mum , I also love Elton John's revamp of Yellow brick rd. to Goodbye Englands Rose I shed tears every time I play that its so fitting & beautiful; a few years ago at one of our museums they has a display of Diana's wedding dress her shoes & other clothing & from room to room all different so beautiful until we hit the video room playing Her funeral, I lost it a bit there, they had another room full of thousands of books school children & people had signed, that was a moving moment in time it still gives me goose pimples when I remember it, what an awful tragedy that was, her loss is always remembered;

Haaaaaaa, Jazz is the name of Shirley´s cat, Cotton is the one from Jeanine Ann and my two are Poubelle (French for waste paper basket because she always empties it, since 12 years, and then there is Max our new one since March. Jasper belongs to Fay , are we now all clear about our cats?

Oh dear. I sometimes wonder if there is any justice in this world. Andre has worked so hard for at least 32years yet he is still in debt because he is such a perfectionist. Because of his hard work and devotion he became ill. Now he has such a burden on his shoulders that he has to work and work to make up what was lost during his illness. Sometimes life is so unfair. The only bright side is that Andre enjoys what he does so work is not so stressful for him.Please God keep him strong and healthy so that his life is happy and filled with as much joy as he gives us, his adoring fans xx

Hi Josephine!How well you have expressed what I feel.Just looking at his AGENDA I can't imaging doing such an extreme amount of flying all over the globe for what has been years and years.I know he does love performing for his fans but the body can only take so much.How do they cope with the jet-lag?He really needs to have more time between tours to recover and rest a bit.
Apparently his people are now arranging a tour in Brazil next year - on top of all the other tours.It does seem like he can't say "no" and wants to please all his millions of fans worldwide but we don't want him to have a relapse do we? ...... Marc and his wife have a new baby girl, Fleur!(Born in August)They will have their hands full, I think Ivan is only just over one year old.

Hello dear fans,
It has been brought to my attention that Andre is now an Opa for the fourth time! Marc and his wife have a new baby girl and her name will be Fleur. (which means flower) Isn't that a beautiful name! I will try to get more information by going through the Dutch newspapers (which takes a while) and then we will wait until Andre makes the decision as to whether we get a photo or not. We have no photos from the concert as yet. Big Hugs

My first reactions was I felt a little sorry for Ivan who was barely a year old when his sister was born. I'm sure they'll do fine but too bad he didn't get a chance to be the baby for a while longer. Just think, a year ago June, he had no grandchildren, and now he has four.

Hi all on a dismal UK morning. BUT.The sun is shining in my heart. Just watched a clip of Andre's return concert. He looks wonderful. He seems to have lost a bit of weight of his lovely 'tum'. But hey that was only puppy fat wasn't it?. Thoroughly enjoyed his famous MARINA What a mover!!. Can you imagine those legs dancing the Argentine Tango!!!

Oh Jeanine Ann Where do you find these clips? This as always is a gem. I can't understand a word but really don't mind Andre talking what sounds like'double dutch' to me. I love just to hear his voice.I was thinking I bet JSO never have that'Monday morning feeling' when they go to work. It can't feel like work to them. I would love their job. Having said that they do work jolly hard but it must be ejoyable,especially spending all that time with The Gorgeous Andre Hugs to all xx

Hi Josephine, I cannot take credit for that. Our friend Shirley was looking at YouTube and she sent them to me. I had never seen that one where Andre spoke so that was a treat. There are so many great videos on there and I wish I had more time to look at all of them. I am hoping that those who are going to the concerts along the West Coast will take some video. I only saw one Christmas concert and that was in Toronto and it was so nice. I could not see his legs so I don't know if he did that cute little step during Jingle Bells but I really like that. We were off to the side and I don't remember which row we were in. It was easier to look at the big screen. They had one camera on Andre all the time on both sides and the other screens had the JSO and soloists. That was a great concert especially Saturday when the pyrotechnics worked. Big Hugs

Hi Inge, my CD count just went up to 94. Moonlight Serenade just arrived today. I do have all the music but there is a beautiful photos on the CD that I didn't have!! I hope Andre does have another 40 years on stage but he will have to take it easy in between concerts. Hugs

Jeanine Ann you must have a lot of doubles because I have them all, but Moonlight Serenade I will not buy, the picture does not do it for me, have enough and I prefer the older pictures, when he was still super looking. He still looks good for a 61 old grandpa of 4, but I liked him best in the early 2OOO

Dear friends
I'm a teacher by profession and is busy marking final examination papers. Lulu is up and about tearing my box with exam papers to shreds(reminds me of Inge's Poubelle). I then decided to play DREAMING in order to calm her down, which it did. I woke up 10 min later because I was transferred to the magical world where Andre looked into my eyes, playing only for me.I then decided to ply ROMANCE, but that put me in such a mellow state that I gave it all up! I'm now going outside to wash my car!! Andre,oh Andre, what are you doing to me ?! Have a mellow Rieu day!!

Deirdre, I must have the most unmusical cats of all, they never ever look at André or any other music, sometimes they are interested what moves on TV, but soon they understand, they cannot catch it and leave, but music does not interest them at all. My dogs used to howl when I played the accordion, haaaaaa , the high notes hurt their ears.

Haaaaaaaaaaa, Shirley, that is really true, with the can opener, in my case the tin can I keep the dry food in also, that makes Max ran, Poubelle like yours, the can opener. Cats are smart, even if they are not musical.
Lulu is a beauty, one day I might get myself a pure bread cat, but on the other end, there are sooooo many that are abandoned and need a good home, that always wins in my case.
Janine Ann, I am still screening the DVDs I had made from the Videos, I could not possibly do that in one day, but today I looked at :" Un rêve revenue réalité," it is spoken in German and has French under titles. I have not looked at this since I saw it the first time. André´s mother is on it a few times and I think he looks like her. Tomorrow or tonight I will look at "The North America I love, André Rieu in concert"

Jeanine Ann, you have that, it means:" a dream comes true", perhaps you have it in English????? Josephine it is a sort of documentary about his work in 2OO1. He goes with Xander for a walk, he is as child on the Petersberg and also as adult, his mother with him in Venice, but also when she brings him to the choir rehearsals and in France.

JEANINE ANN. Cotton is a beautiful cat. I can see why you named her Cotton. FAY, your Jasper is a handsome fellow, but not nearly as much as Andre. HA,HA. am very fortunate to understand most(not all) of the Dutch and German dialect Andre uses on his DVD's because it is very similar to my home language, Afrikaans. My language developed from those two languages as well of a little English and off course we added our own words to Afrikaans which is spoken no where else in the world. I don't have to read when watching a DVD which gives me more time to lose myself in his deep blue eyes. Cool isn't it. Have sweet Andre dreams.

Deirdre, that's interesting about your language. Do most people there also speak English? When I was watching the children sing with Andre I was delighted with their performace & I went to find out more about the Hout Bay Music project. What a wonderful thing for all those kids. They were amazing in the Maastricht dvd & I'll just bet they were all so excited to be there. There was one girl, in the front center, that I was especially charmed with, she was a great little dancer as well as singer. That girl has rhythm!! They all did a fantastic job.

We have 11 languages in our country. The white people(minority group)speak English/Afrikaans. The other 9 are African languages. We all converse with each other in English and teach English in all our schools.The little dancer/singer told Andre that it is her dream to sing and perform in front pf a big audience. He made her dream come true and that is OUR Andre!! Most Africans have good voices and a lot of rhythm. Have a super Andre day!xx

Good morning to all you lovely people,sad I could'nt make it to the airport too far for me alas, I'm with you in heart & mind, its so good to know Our Lovely Man is out & about & doing what He loves to do sooo well; funny not all cats like music, Jasper is about my 7th. Siamese, + a couple of moggy's as a child, Jasper is the only one I've had who likes music, not all music,only Andre's He does'nt like Neil Diamomd, Russell Watson or Elton John, if I play those I either get bitten or a claw digs me in the head, I put on a cd of Alan Jones favorites no not to His liking, yet if I put Andre' on He comes at the run, I think its the pitch of the violin He likes, mind you I've come to the conclusion that Andre's music touches a part of our brains that controls our emotions & feelings I can never get too much of His music, I've said before His Music has been a life saver with Nelly & the pain she suffers at this time, she will go in & put a dvd on & usually within 30 min. I hear Her laughing, that is a life saver for me also her, Andre's notes go straight to ones heart & mind, its soooooooo good,He is so much a part of our everyday lives; have a Rieully good day the Andre' way!!!!!!

I know what you mean Fay, I never get tired of Andre's music. I cannot get in the car without a CD playing. We just started playing Andre's Christmas CD's. I know it is a little early but I will switch now and then since I just received "Moonlight Serenade". It has a lot of my favorites on it. I didn't know the DVD was Live in Australia because I do have that of course. I have only played that one once and I don't know why because I really loved it. I like Alan Jones a lot and I thought he did such a nice job with "I Am Australian".
I don't know what the kitties like but when I put an Andre concert on both Cotton and Patches come into the living room and sit with us on the couch. I don't think Micetro has been with us long enough to know better. : ) Hugs to all

Since you ladies are talking about cats, I want to tell you about Samson, now deceased. I used to work at home and receive faxes from China in the middle of the night. The fax would make a little noise before the paper started spitting out. Samson would race off the bed and sit in front of the fax and shred it as it came through. I finally had to put a screen in front of the shelf. I can't tell you how many times I had to call China and tell them I couldn't read their fax and would they resend it. When the screen foiled Samson, he then pushed all the teapots off the top of the china cabinet, one by one. Now that we live in Maine my present cats, Benny, Eddy, Joey (Johann Strauss) and Hercules bring me presents from the outside. Sometimes the presents are still alive which I am sure raises my already high blood pressure. I think they will start staying in more now that it is cold out.

Virginia, my daughters 3 cats bring gifts from outside, too, sometimes she can rescue the birds or mice, but I took a snake away from Chimo, the killer, threw it over the balcony back in the garden, the cat jumped of the balcony in the apple tree and was so fast down. I did not want to know, if he found the snake again, hopefully she got away.

He looks good Jeanine Ann its good to see Him out & about; Virginia I laughed so loudly, I can see your cat doing that, I only buy the paper to Read on Sundays mainly for the tv program & the comic, I usually put the rest of it on the floor, Jasper has been known to come along & really use those back legs as only a cat can, gosh He makes a mess; ha ha;;;; those children from The Houtt Bay project they were something else, I think the young Lady you are speaking about was the one who stated she loved singing & wanted to be a Diva, she has a lot of personallity, In Maastricht she held her tummy & wriggled it they are very talented I hope they go far in this life, You only have to look at the Dark skinned artists they have something the white person lacks, look at Sammy Davis, Nat King Cole & last but not least Kimmi, she has lots of talent, Andre' seems to have a way of seeking & nurturing that talent, Look at Mirusia, I really must say Andre' really promotes His people, I love too the interaction between Carmen & Andre'its beautifull wish I was that close to Himself oh well I still have my dreams; Sakura & those Eyes boy I melt;;;;

1) The documentary "Andre Rieu:, The Man,The Legend" will be shown on Sunday, 28 November 12.50pm to 1.20pm
which is rather short.
2) They will be playing the concert from Dublin on the same day from 11.50am to 12.35pm. (I presume this is a shortened form of Live in Dublin)on
Channel 5 also. Hope this is what you all wanted to know.

Sylvia I wonder what the Christmas concert in Melbourne is sounds like, The Stadium Tour, He has only performed 2 sets of concerts here the ones in 2008,& 2009, if the skaters were on it it was 2008, They must have given it a different title, did it have the castle as a backdrop?, I've noticed that happens in other countrys,I bought Andre' around The World, only to find I had the 3 under different titles, I bought those via Amazon, thats why I now stick to Ovation here in Australia,I'm waiting for Roses from the South dvd, I think the music will be similar to the cd You Raise Me up , it was originally to be called by the same name as the dvd, but was changed prior to its release, I can hardly wait I've seen a preview, the Islands floral display alone is so beautiful, combine that with Andre' &His music, it will be glorious. if you want to look at MAINAU, type that into google & tour the Island it tells you a little of its History, very interesting, very beautiful; now I will go off to Maastricht, then I'll have sweet dreams, Jasper is next to me here but his ears are up Nelly has Andre' in Australia on & He knows Andre's voice & music, clever cat;;;;

Hi Deirdre, I didn't know you had so many languages, are they different dialects? That is amazing. You know I have watched the Bond video once and was a little jealous of Andre going ga-ga over them but for you I will put it on. I liked the song but did not like Bond. I guess I felt it did not suit Andre's tasteful shows but I must remember that it was in Hamburg and a lot of young people were there so I guess it was okay. I hope you have a great day. All 9 languages are independent languages, each with their own dialect. Thanks for putting on the video.For the next 10 days I'm going to mark Gr12 Economics papers, starting at 7 am till 7 pm. Our country is divided into 9 provinces . We will be marking my province,Gauteng, which is the smallest but the most densly populated. I have a team of markers and must moderate their marking to make sure it is up to standard. We will be marking 17000 plus papers. wow! 17000papers? Guess a teacher's work is never done. I've had some great teachers in my lifetime, whose influence helped form who i am today. I wish our teachers were more appreciated. It's an honorable but sometimes thankless job, but hooray for all those teachers who hang in there. You never know who's really listening.

while I was watching my transferred DVD "From Holland with love" , I noticed that the girls were all wearing pink and gray with sleeves in the dress, also all the 5 from the former Salon orchestra were still there: Franz Vermeulen, Henriette Janssen, Jo Huijts, Jean Sassen and of course André, the only one left is now Jean Sassen.

Shirley, the other bass player was Wil Rijs, before also Rob Zeguers, but who the precussion player was before Mireille, I have no idea. I thought for the longest time Mireille was a young man, after I knew she was a woman I wondered why does she not wear a dress like the others????????? I know most percussion players are men, but still she could put on a dress, she also danced with the men in "Tea for two"???

Jeanine Ann like you I was not overly impressed by bond, one girl In particular,I worried that her boobs might fall out of her dress, a bit of cleavage can be tantalising , the rest of that dvd is good I usually f/f the bond bit as its such a good concert, ; I am always saying Andre' does more than play music, with Deidre & all the different people who come on this site, we get History Geography,knowledge of such a different culture, a very great learning curve , especially for me who like the ostrich seems to have been buried down here, I have a picture in my head of Australia & how our states are & where, but have never worried about elsewhere, now i go looking to find out what I need to know;here in Oz. at the moment we are seeing a lot about you President J.F.K.it was so sad last night they showed the motorcade, the shooting also the shooting of said assassin, its still so sad, I remember that time vividly, there have to be moments of sadness I believe so that we can know & respect the times of Joy, a little like Andre's illness & the joy I feel at His being on the road again, its soooo good;

Top of the charts.However I have to say Alan titchmarsh is only the presenter of the show and is actually a very nice man so I don't think he would have any input as regards who is on the show. Glory be I hope thats not thanksgiving dinner waiting to be cooked, cats don't mind where they curl up do they, I decided to be lazy today I've just finished watching again African Dream its such a moving dvd, so emotional so many standing ovations, so deserving of them to, prior to that I watched On The Way To New York, I laugh every time I see Andre' with that fire place switch, I can imagine Him as a little boy , bet He kept His Mother happy, I noticed in Be My Love, She gives Him a big hug & a kiss, her sweet dreamy boy, Marjorie tells in Her book about a boy on the way to school being so taken with earth movers He watched all day, until the children coming home asked where He'd been all day, I can imagine that can You?????;;; Shirley that is a very pertinent piece of prose is that the right word? very true as well; I just don't know about all these tv shows we get no news down here about Andre' at times its as if He does'nt exist, we get all the stupid stuff about who's in Rehab or who is up on drink or drug charges, or who is sleeping with who's partner, its rather pathetic at times, so I log on here or watch dvds. I like, there are a few programs on foxtel I like, would you believe we are having reruns of the original Star Trek With James T Kirk & Mr Spock they are great to watch , good escapeism & funny not as sophisticated as the later ones, I remember them in black & white, they were on before we had color, that seems so long ago, I can remember watching Sesame St. just to see the color when it came in;;;;

I do know that us ladies don't like to share our Andre with any sexy women.FAY sorry, hope you're not too mad about the video, but my son Juandre(19 years)just loves it-the vibe! He also attended one of Andre's shows and loves his music, as well as other classical music. JEANINE ANN, I'm a school teacher in the senior phase. At the end of the year a selected group of educators mark the final exams of all school leavers.USA is divided into states and South Africa into smaller provinces. What Channel is Star Trek on Fay? I must have missed it in the TV programme. We love to watch the original episodes each time they're rerun - like watching old friends. What a wonderful group of characters they were. Our favourite episode has always been "City On The Edge of Forever", but we enjoy them all.

I'm with you on this bit of news Josephine, I am so very happy for Prince William and Catherine! Very sensible choices about the Wedding. Wish I could be there to "celebrate" their new life together. I'm sure Diana is smiling down on William's choice, and all the protective measures He has already established for His Catherine, and future Queen. My heart just melts, as I recall how Diana made sure Her boys were brought up in a life with 'real people'.

My darling Mum and I were bought great tickets by my son for the Sydney concert which was postponed.She's a tragic Andre fan..She passed away on Thursday 18 days after we were supposed to go,so will never get to enjoy this experience,her first Andre concert.It breaks my heart but I am going and just hope that she can somehow be beside me in the empty seat.

The First question Is Andre' Invited to The Wedding? With the very sad news from New Zealand tonight I'm feeling rather philosophical about life in general, and grateful for the happy times. With Thanksgiving being celebrated throughout America I wish our friends there a happy day and have been thinking of the amazing differemce American culture has made in the lives of, especially, the English speaking world. Imagine if all the entertainent, music, films, books, the USA has given us was suddenly erased from memory. How much poorer we would be.

Jill, it is sad about all those miners & their families. We were hoping for a miracle
like the one in Chile. We all have a lot to be thankful for & not just for the one day
in a year. I love the differences in all the cultures & I think each one contributes
something special. Poorer indeed if we don't learn from each other.

I watched The hiedelberg dvd today I had to laugh at what Andre' called caravans, Moonvagans my spelling is as it sounded, don't know if thats correct;;;;;;;Sylvia of London How on earth did you burn the back of your leg, I burnt my finger on the bottom of a frying pan, nearly went mad so I sat with ice on it, if ever you burn yourself again try the Ice, it does help, not much on tonight I think down this way most people are thinking of those poor miners & their familys, its so awful, there will be a lot of people who will put Christmas on hold this year, no husbands or fathers coming home

I was photocopying paperwork one Sunday morning nine months ago in my pyjamas
standeing next to a Calor gas fire when
flames shot out of my leg. Keith, who is a First Aid Trainer, put me in an ice
cold bath for 1 hour, then took me to hospital. I had to go there 3 times a
week for 5 weeks. Then I was sent to the Practice Nurse at my doctor's surgery for bandaging 3 times a week for
monthd. She then said she could do no more, so Keith bandages my leg every 3rd day and puts Vaseline petroleum jelly on as advised by the hospital. (We
tried every other cream, herbal and otherwise, nothing else helped). My skin dries out so fast, then the pain gets really bad, usually at night. The
burns were right up the back of my leg.
Most of it has healed up, leaving the skin very thin and sore to the touch, but where you bend your knee at the back is healing with difficulty.
I feel so sad about the NZ miners as well, but feel that if they would have gone into rescue them straight away, they might have saved some.
I have just been watching the famous Judge Judy on TV. She is so wise and funny. She always cheers me up. I slept
2 hours last night, so watched 3 Andre
dvd's during the day. He is so gorgeous.

Thank goodness that Keith knew what to do immediately.I can only imagine how painful it must be behind your knee. Oh good Heavens, I didn't know it changed! Must have been overnight. I have been so busy here and only went there this morning. I was going to click on "Gold" when I saw you must pay. I guess that is not too bad but I want to see exactly what you get first. This time I am using my head instead of my heart - however I have my information saved in their "gold" area. haha! I don't want to miss anything. I sure hope Andre has some time for the East Coast and Eastern Canada in the summer or sometime. A year without an Andre concert is like a year without the sun! Sylvia, just go in the web of André Rieu and you get all your answers. He charges for a Gold membership per year 5OEuros that entitles you to better tickets (come first serve first) 1O% of the purchase of anything you buy in his boutique or a concert sales box.

I certainly will not pay 5O Euros for a year just to have 1O% taken of the stuff he sells in his boutique, I do not buy that stuff and the CDs and DVDs we get somewhere else cheaper and faster, if PBS does not sell tickets anymore, well then I just look at DVDs until I am tired of them, but I skip the life concerts, I do not want to sit in the nose bleed section but I will not pay idiotic fees either. If this is the way André wants to get out of his debts, well he most likely finds some fans who help, but I am not one of them.

. It's not a characteristic of André to rip off anything from anybody and he will definetely not use anybody to get out of his debts but only by hardworking to get back on his feet. Like all companies in the world you have to pay to get service. We are from different countries in the world with different currencies - so it depends what is your currency to an Euro. I'm not an Australian but I get my DVD's and CD's from Hans Music Spot in Melbourne and that is the cheepest I can get it. Far more cheeper than Amazon in USA or Brittain.

I agree but for a slightly different reason. Andre has maintained for years that he does not want a fan club and here he is creating one. We have spent many hours for years keeping eyes and ears open for when tickets would go on sale and have helped each other. If he holds out the best tickets and there are no good seats left, then I wasn't meant to go.

I am talking about people who buy the gold membership having preferential access to tickets. I think it's very tacky especially given the fact that we know he knows how many people work to find out when and where he will appear long before his site decides to publish it. That's how we got the best tickets, by working for them. Almost every year in every venue, I have had tickets in hand before his website even published the concert. I can already see that he has a lot of unhappy fans. Surely he knows how much money die hard fans have spent over the years and now he says we have to pay his organization if we want to continue to get the best seats? We know they hold seats anyway. This after he specifically said he did not want a fanclub because it created division between those fans and all the others. Now that's exactly what is happening. As much as I love going, I will take my chances with the masses, as it appears many others have already decided according to comments on Facebook etc. What do we get for
$75? The privilege of paying for the most expensive seats (which we do anyway), a discount which we get anyway, and a free gift? I don't know what the gift is but my guess is a CD/DVD I already have. I for one will continue to rely on people who work so hard to find out where the concerts are long before they are announced. While I'm in the complaining mode, the layout of the new site is fine, but I will reserve my judgment until I see whether it's kept up. The last one was allowed to languish. I wrote many times asking them to update the orchestra page which had not been updated for literally years. It would have taken one person a day to do it. Time will tell. If new people appear in the orchestra and are not added to the site, then nothing will have changed. A lot of people can afford the $75 membership- but every year? For what? Maybe an occasional glass of champagne? He may find that he is pricing himself out of the market. This past year I refused to pay $500 for Boston. It turns out that a lot of other people did too so even though we took second best seats, there were empty rows of expensive seats in front of us, so we had a great view. Money is the bottom line and I find this latest "offer" offensive. I know people who have signed up for the gold membership so I assume they will tell us what the great benefits are. I agree with sone of the comments on Facebook and will elect to stay with the masses, the unwashed, or whoever.

Hi Virginia, I know what you mean about working for the tickets. We have often called PBS a year in advance to try to get good seats and we post these places on our concert page. But I know for a fact there are some who "work" for tickets for Maastricht and yet do not post on their website until they have managed to get their tickets first. They don't do it anymore because I found out about it and now I get the dates ahead of time and post it immediately and not wait for the day of the sale. I have emails telling me not to list the sale ahead of time so "we can all get the best tickets". THAT is what is not fair. Andre is not to blame, it is the fans who must have the best seats every year no matter what. The minute I get the notification it is put on this website by one of us and it will always be that way. We as moderators or webmaster do not deserve first chance. We are all fans together. We do nothing to warrant special privileges. Hugs

Oh Dear. Such sad sad news about those poor New Zealand Miners and their grieving families. Makes you sit and think and count your blessings and be thankful to be alive. I have seen the new web site. Not sure yet what you get for becoming a 'GOLD' fan so will wait a bit and see. I already have my tickets for the O2 concert so no beneft there.I think I am happy with all the information and bits and bobs I enjoy from loving and admiring Andre without paying for it. That would be nice Josephine but I think these are the things which Andre should stop. This type of appearance, in my opinion, is what causes him the stress he does not need. I know Andre cannot say no but he must learn to say this word for the sake of his health. I too would love to see him on everything and everywhere and I can hardly stand the thought of a year without a live concert in my area but his well being and health come first. I hope he will keep the promise he made to Marjorie and Pierre and slow down and just do his concerts. They said they will love him no matter what and I know we can say the same thing. Hugs

Jeanine Ann thats a very good description of life without Andre' He surely puts the sun & happiness into our days with His music & His beautiful self I can honestly say He has kept me sane [thats if I ever was] I have always had broken sleep, but since we, Jasper & I go off to sleep to one of Andre's cds I sleep like a happy babe,what would I do without The Rosary & Andre's Music; I have been worried about Narelles stamina as she's not eating correct foods, so I went to our Chemist & had a yarn They know us well we came away with a protein drink that is low in sugar but high in the things she is missing out on at the moment,I feel better as I've been concerned as she's unable to eat fruit or vegetable without developing severe pain; "LIFE" Is a challenge ;;;

We are also devastated by the news of the miners, one of them is a South African.SHIRLEY and JUDITH, thank you for inspiring us teachers-most of the time we are not really appreciated. I will definitely share the poem with my colleagues. FAY I will surely make a point to purchase the calender. They only sell Andre's dvd's and cd's in our country and not even all of it. When asked why, they said that Andre decides what could be sold in countries and that they could only order what appears on the list.Since his performance here the prices have suddenly doubled! SYLVIA, I hope you are feeling better.Andre will take your mind off the pain.I sooo wish I was in Mexico, wouldn't that be cool!!Happy Andre wishes to all.

Hi People I have just watched the interview with Andre from 21st November on Dutch TV TROS. What a wonderful interview. Andre looks so handsome,and we get to see the lovely twins Lieke and Linde. Yes Jeanine Ann there were some lovely quotes in it Like from Andre saying about Pierre'I love that boy'and his promise to Marjorie that he will listen to them. Well worth watching everybody. To all you beautiful people in The USA, a Happy Thanksgiving; please could you explain to this ignorant person what is celebrated on Thanksgiving Day;;;;;; Jasper & I have just finished watching "Roses from The South" its a beautiful dvd, very pretty scenery, The music far surpasses the beauty of the Island, it has some funny moments, & Roger's playing of His trumpet, what a solo, it will trully give you goose pimples, I wont tell you anymore it will spoil the surprise, I often think Andre' can't go any better & what does He do, He just does, what an amazing Man & all His people, Andre' spoke about a doctor & what He does with His music, I bought 3 I for the Nuns down the road they are retired & live in our Parish, they love our Mans Music, I often lend them mine, I also bought one for the young Lady Who takes Nelly out on Mondays, both she & her Mum love our Man, I also enjoy spreading Him around; don't know what all this GOLD bit is about I will have a look & make up my own mind ,if Andre' needs money & we can help in a small way well I will look & reserve judgment;???/

Yes I had that problem, but the 'forgot password' sorts it out, then once in, go back and chnage the password back to what ever you wish.

I don't know much about Thanksgiving, except that the native Indians supplied
you with turkey and corn on the cob, etc. for the very first feast.
I hope you will not all eat too much today particularly the pumpkin pie, which I have never tasted, but is supposed to be delicious.
The new website of darling Andre is superb. I can't imagine that any of you
haven't seen it, but if that is the case
you must look at it, particularly re the
JSO. It lists all their names of the
current players with photos and comments by Andre. I don't know if any
of you use mobility scooters if any of you are disabled like me, but England is thinking of making everybody insure
their scooters and take lessons in how
to manoevre them, so I have jumped the gun and taken out third party insurance,
plus obtained a dvd of the Norfolk Police telling you how to use it properly. I am playing 100 years of Strauss by Andre at the moment. My
mother who is now dead was Viennese and
took me to Vienna in 1959 when I was
17 when the Johann Strauss statue was not gold, but black (I think the gold
had been covered during the war, like
our statue of Prince Albert opposite

year old boy called Edward Tomanek,
son of Stuart and Lyudmilla, who live in
the village of Somersham, Cambridgeshire
England. He has passed with distinction
the top grades in piano and violin and
loves composing. He started when he was
3 years old. He has been offered a bursary of £18,000 to study at the prestigious King's College School. Is
there any chance that Jeanine Ann or Webmaster Sally could let Andre know
about this boy. Maybe he could play the violin in one of Andre's concerts.

Oh my pumpkin pie, in Oz. we make a gramma pie its a sort of pumpkin, called Gramma, you boil till soft,drain in a colander, then mash with sugar,nutmeg or any sweet spice you prefer, it does'nt always make the pie dish with me its so lovely with fresh cream [ weight watchers delight] the pastry makes it fatter ha ha, if you can't find the gramma pumpkin Jap pumpkin will do, brown sugar is better than white, has a better flavour; Jeanine Ann that site told me they already had someone with my email adress I tried the password bit that went ok will try later as this is breakfast time for me , the old head takes a little while to work in unison with a computer; I agree with what Andre' is doing, I have bought a few treasures from His site, I will explore later

That sounds very much like our Pumpkin Pie (which is my favorite). We can cook the pumpkin and strain it, but most of us use the canned pumpkin. It is so much easier. And if you add pumpkin mix to sugar cookies instead of the liquids.. you get Pumpkin Cookies! Yum.

We had a nice Thanksgiving day, & yep, the usual pumkin pie. The night before we had tornado watches all around us
as the colder air was moving in. Middle 70's one day turned to 20's overnight. Someone asked what we celebrate on Thanksgiving.
I guess that depends on who you ask. It was originally a kind of harvest featival, to give thanks for a bountiful year.
To me it's a time for family & friends to gather & give thanks for our many blessings & remember those less fortunate & help any way we can.
And its seems to be the kickoff of the holiday season from Thanksgiving to a New Year. A time of gathering & celebration.
Love, family & friendship, these are the only things that really matter aren't they? BTW Sally, if you come back with "bells" are you bringing Frank back with you too?

Hi Deirdre, I think Andre adds some local talent to his concerts when the occasion calls for it, depending on the music. I don't think they are permanent choir members. I have noticed them in different concerts. Hugs to you

Jeanine Ann , Andre's new website is something else eh! very well planned, it took me a while, I turned off & went back in later, I should have clicked on log on as I did the second time, I think thats why it kept telling me Another person Has that web adress; when alls said I don't like to read Any Nastiness about Andre'I am sure there are a lot of bits He can't control, & if in some small way,& it is small I can help well what goes round comes round; apart from His being sooooo Ill, we have to remember that all His people were still paid, the advance shipping accomadation, so much lost it could almost have sent Them to the wall, I would just like to say this Inge take 5 min. & just think of all the years of enjoyment Andre' has given you ; you have known Him a lot longer than us, He must have given you Hours of pleasure & joy, we are on a pension like so many, & we get more than we could give from Andre' His Music & the JSO, that small amount is nothing, I wonder if all the people who wanted to donate money become Gold members, once again Andre is giving as that seems to be His nature, you scratch my back I will scratch yours, apart from that you don't have to become a gold member, its such a beautiful site, the BEST on the web I reckon;Naturally, Have a Rieully great day; xxx ooo Miow to all the Cats

Hi all friends, I have just received my Roses From the South DVD in the post and have watched some of the tracks, very beautiful to look at, a lot of the tracks are similar to other DVDs but the dancing and the flowers are just beautiful. I am off to take another look at the new web site aned decide what to do. Mexico City seems to be a success with lots of happy people. Hi Deidre thank you for asking Narelle is my special needs Daughter , she has developed a complex floating hiatis hernia, which needs Major surgery, key hole can't be done, as well she needs to have a hysterectomy because of cysts on her ovarys they have grown from .3cm. to 7cm. in 3years so the best way is all out, life is never dull , not in our house, as I've said earlier Andre's music has been a Real Lifesaver, I'm sure it works on receptors in our brains, I have seen her go & lay down in pain only an hour later she is laughing at something she had missed previously never could I thank Him enough;;;;

Hi all on a chilly UK morning. Snow causing havok so early this year. Not the only thing by the sound of it. Andres 'gold' membership seems to have caused a bit of consternation. I do think it a bit unfair if I am reading it correctly that once again those who can afford it can get priveledges ie first choice of concert tickets. Most of us have to dig deep into our pockets to afford the tickets without paying extra to join the 'GOLD CLUB'Anyway I am looking forward to a 'gold club' seat in front of my TV tomorrow morning to enjoy Himself for a couple of hours. Hi Inge and all who are talking about the "Gold" membership. I don't like to pay extra either because I do not have all that extra money. I have everything from the Boutique except the things I cannot afford or think are too expensive. The DVD's I buy from Hans unless he does not carry it and it is a Boutique exclusive. I want to support Andre all I can. I know he is not in this for the money. I believe him when he says he wants to please others and cannot say "no" to people. During Andre's illness I read so many messages of support and even starting a fund to help him. Now he is back to good health (thank God) and now some are grumbling about the 50 euros (probably more in dollars since our dollar is devaluating) which may just help him. I know 2008 was a very bad year for Andre and Co. and they lost big time. We don't know about 2009 or 2010 because 2009 was bad economy (still is) and of course 2010 was the year of his illness.
Like I said I do not like to pay for extra privileges (whatever they are) but I will join just once and I will tell you exactly what or what I don't get. I don't even know if tickets will be an issue in the United States this next year because Andre's schedule is so packed already and now he has added Mexico for 2011. What could be left for the East Coast of America next year and Canada. Those on the West Coast and Western Canada will have seen him also this year as we did in the Spring.
I am not thinking of 10% off of this or that or special gifts. I am thinking that maybe this will help Andre financially. I could give you many places on the internet which have free and paid memberships. I know all of us went through a very hard time while Andre was ill. I was sick with worry that I would never see a live concert again or we would need to go to Maastricht to see him. I was worried for him because I know how lost and sick he would be by not being able to get on that stage again. This is what he lives for - to bring us his beautiful music. I would be lost without Andre and his music as I am sure you would also.
Lets all be positive about this and if you do not want to be a Gold member it really doesn't matter. It is not a matter of privilege but of choice. Just because I join doesn't make me a better fan than any of you. We are all the same. I am doing it to help Andre in "my way".

WOW!!!! Thank God we have the "freedom of speech'! BUT, just months ago we were laying our lives on the line for OUR dear, poor Andre. AND, TODAY, we are making mountain's out of mole hills. I agree too. There was talk of a new appearance to Andre's web site earlier this year -it's been coming for almost a year and has nothing to do with the financial strain imposed by his illness. Further, Andre would never transfer his losses to his fans with a membership levy - that idea is a load of twisted nonsense. We live in countries with freedom & choice; isn't that great. A few days ago everyone was happy with the situation & that situation has not changed at all for those of us who choose not to pay for a few extra benefits. Please, no mountains out of mole hills.

Since the new website let's us pay by
cheque (via a Dutch Bank in London) I
have sent off my money to be a Gold member. I am an old age pensioner and
disabled without much money, but I feel
it is a way of helping Andre. Since I
became disabled, Andre is the only person who takes the pain away for me.
The tablets certainly don't. I know I
won't be able to go to concerts and there will only be a few items I might
want to buy from the Boutique, but Andre
is the kindest, most charitable and
thoughtful man in the world. He has done so much for me and many others, I
feel the amount of money that is being asked is so small, (less than £1 a week)
that it gives me great pleasure to be of
assistance in a very tiny way. This
man and his family give so much to the
whole world, let us give, give, give to
help him and show our appreciation.
May be I sound silly, but I don't care.

Hi all I am feeling really perterbed and bothered here. Is the Andre 'GOLD' being mis interpreted here. I cannot believe for one moment that Andre is asking us all to give £50 a year to help him get out of debt and I honestly believe that when Andre realises this is how it is being interpreted he will be totally devestated.He would not humiliate himself in this way. I think an explanation is in order.. Big concerned hugs xxx

Hi Josephine, I don't think this is Andre's intention at all. He is probably giving his fans an opportunity to get a discount from items and maybe a discount on tickets. I cannot read his mind but I know he is not asking us to help him out of debt when he may not really be in debt. We have no way of knowing this and should not speculate. I would not be concerned and we should not even mention this as a reason for his new site suddenly offering a gold membership. Even my email account offers that and they are not in debt. I'm seriously concerned as to why people always take the negative side of things. Why would Andre start a "gold" club to help him get out of debt? If indeed he is in debt. It truly is none of our business whether or not Andre is in debt. We may have a curiosity as humans, but I don't think we should take it any farther than that. I believe that Andre has his life, music and business situations totally under control. I really think that Andre has this "gold" club as a special initiative for his fans to have a special "place"...a special reward for being dedicated fans. Charging money for this is fine with me because you get discounts and other perks with being a "member". I don't believe I know of a "club" where a membership fee is not charged. These monies that go towards the "club" gives us those specials that we enjoy.
Let's try not to be too critical, but let's try to understand ALL the reasons why Andre would offer membership "gold" status.
I think it's special in my book.

I went back last night to "Christmas Around The World" that snow does make me laugh Andre' can do things that others can't & make people laugh & be Happy, I think thats His aim in life, I won't argue about what He is doing, I know I will do as I feel within reason, if I make a mistake, I learn something new, I will not argue about Andre' thats a negative act, not in my estimation of How Andre' would want us to be , lets just be Andre Rieu Fans & Friends, that has a nice ring to it eh ! in Dublin on Channel 5 TV, but better yet, the most fantastic documentary on Andre! Just too short, only 30 minutes.
Done with great affection for the great
man. Very informative. It was interesting to see his recording studio
with its wonderful acoustics. They said
half of his orchestra have been with him for 15 years. I have just fallen in love with him even more! I think Johann Strauss would have adored him.

Oh dear, oh dear!!I have accidentally spilt water on my laptop and now it's "kaput".I feel as if I have lost an arm!Ridiculaous really I know but I miss logging on every day and keeping up to date with news of Andre.Had to come to local library today and hoping my house insurance will cover cost of new laptop.Has anyone done the same? I could kick myself!!!

there are a lot that I am familiar with.

wow, I've been reading all the comments. Freedom of expression & choice are two things I definately believe in.I wasn't going to comment until I read Odile's message. Remember how you felt when you first saw & heard Andre Rieu? When you attended your first concert? When you first met him & some of the JSO members?
Very much like Odile I imagine.After checking out Andre's new site, I don't believe the "gold membership" was meant to help him out financially, I think Helen is right, the new site has been in the works for quite awhile now. Whether anyone chooses to join the gold is their own personal decision. I don't know enough about it at this point to make a decision. The "perks" would probably not benefit me that much as we are not now physically or financially able to travel great distances to a concert. I have beautiful memories to last a lifetime now, to have met him personally, the few concerts we were able to attend, the meeting of many fans from all over the world, and even to know, in a personal way, fans we've never met. I like what a dear fan once said about "the sum of all parts". The whole Andre experience. Like the bright lights on a christmas tree, his music lights up our lives. We will always be Andre fans because we believe in what he does, all over the world. To sit & watch a dvd & catch ourselves smiling & happy, little price to pay I say.

some financial "straits" due to concerts
being cancelled. If he doesn't play they
don't pay! Also, hotel bills, flights
have to be paid whether they take place or not. Pierre said these things can't be reversed. His whole organization was

Good to see the Channel 5 programmes, agree that the ANDRE RIEU STORY was too short, but it was good! have it recorded as well

I have just started watching LIVE IN DUBLIN, I have not see the DVD version, this TV edit is 60mins, but it seems like ALL of the Andre chatting bits have been edited out

Hi all. Watched the live from Dublin concert on TV today FANBLOOMINTASTIC Yes Steve it is a shame all the chat was edited as I love to hear Andre speak.Obviously a timeing thing. However I could just sit and look at that man 'till the cows come home. Looking forward to watching the documentary later xx

Yes agree it's a timing issue, BUT schedule it so that you can show the concert properly, not half baked, they seem happy to shoaw so called reality shows for hours on end, but skimp on what could have been a pice of 'gold' for Channel 5, even more so had they shown it primetime, the doc was good though, 45 mins or even 60 would have been even better
It was fun to see that Stefan Dennis from Neighbours got blown away at his first concert like most of us did no doubt !

Deidre, not sure about myself, personally, I just know Andre' & His music have made one hell of a difference in our lives, its nearly 2 years only since we found, Him I was feeling so ill, I had a badly infected cat bite on my foot,I was sick with the heat, looked up & saw this Man playing on the big screen in Big W since then we can't get toooooooo much of Andre' & His music as said before His music gives Nelly so much as well, Beautiful Man Beautiful Music;; how great to wake today & read so many positive comments great comments all you lovely people I won't go on & repeat all you have posted here only to say my feelings about Andre' are HE CARES, in todays ways of life how many persons do you see showing their emotions as He does, how many openly say & really do love their wives & family, I have always felt for Marjorie sharing Andre' with the world it can't be easy,you only need to witness what passes between Pierre & His Dad share, whats more They allow us to share this;I frankly welcome this Gold Membership, to me its a lovely gift, well thought out, God bless this beautiful Man & His Family & all who sail with Them ;

To all you lovely people in The UK is it a new concert done in Dublin or is it the one from,The Point Theatre 2003, it says on the cover that the Theatre is a converted train terminal; the dvd is approx. 80 minutes & John Sheanan is on as a guest there are extras also at the end I always enjoy those bits like all of you I love the funny bits Andre' does , I love too the way He can wind an audience up & then calm them right back down again Clever Beautiful Man;

Showman violinist André Rieu has made chart history by reaching No.4 in the UK Pop Charts with an album of waltz tunes, which has also become the fastest-selling instrumental album of the century so far!
'Moonlight Serenade' achieved record-breaking sales figures by going Gold within 24 hours of release.
Only three new releases, by Take That, Rihanna and Susan Boyle, have managed to chart higher than the violinist. The Dutch violinist-conductor fought off stiff competition from ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen, Cheryl Cole, James Blunt and Katy Perry.
Gennaro Castaldo, a spokesman for HMV said: "This musical phenomenon is quite unlike anything else in the entertainment world. The rise of André Rieu has been truly remarkable - and with his new album likely to feature in the Christmas Top 10, he'll be a household name before long."
André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra have confirmed a UK Arena Tour for April 2011. The self-styled 'King of the Waltz' has also announced plans to perform at the North Pole!
"People from each country will come and we will all play and sing together to get attention for global warming and the fact that the North Pole belongs to us all. I would very much like for the polar bears to waltz", says Rieu.
Special gloves are being designed to allow André and the orchestra to play their instruments in sub-zero temperatures and protect against hypothermia, frostbite and reduced muscle flexibility.

Last concert

Alas, yesterday was already our last concert in Mexico City for this tour! What a warm welcome we received here: four wonderful evenings with 10.000 people in the audience! Muchas gracias Mexico!! We will be coming back next year, tickets are on sale as from today.Now we are on our way to Phoenix, Arizona for our first concert of the USA & Canada tour!

Further to my blog to you dated 23rd November telling you about Dutch Gardens
USA, they have sent me an email saying they still have the "Andre Rieu" tulips
and are still shopping them, so you don't have to wait till next year.
Hope this is of interest to all gardeners. The tulip is a lilac colour.

Hi Sylvia, thanks for the info on Dutch Gardens. I have known about them for a few years and already have the tulips in my garden. They came up the first year, the second year I had none and this last Spring they came up so I don't know what happened. I added more last Autumn so that helped. We did have a very wet winter so maybe some of them rotted. They are a beautiful color. I really like them. Hope all is well with you my dear friend. Inge you are indeed talented your minatures are beautiful, Andre' looks like the Andre' from Wonderland, thank you sooo much for sharing these with us, alas I used to be able to sew & make many things, my hands & fingers have reduced me to button sewing, I coul'nt do even a hem unless I used iron on tape, I find this very frustrating; though my fingers seem to be able to handle the key board for the computer, oh well it could be worse I at least have my ears & eyes working , I think if I could'nt read I really would go mad, I do love to read, always have I remember as a child that was all I ever wanted for christmas or birthdays, I also love the smell of new books, I know I bought Andre's "My Music My Life" at His concert in Sydney last year & sniffed it all the way home< Narelle explained to the Lady's sitting opposite us in the train[Who had also been to the concert] My Mother always sniffs new books, my son refuses to come into a book shop with with me; does anyone else have this "strange habit"? they do smell good;

Does anyone know if February TV coverage of Mexico concerts includes USA
(PBS)?
I noticed that Andre's new webpage no
longer includes his concert schedule.
Before it was changed Andre had the first half of 2011 pretty much booked
with make-up concerts, etc (no USA tour)
so it looks like there will possibly only be a Fall 2011 USA tour with an
overall reduction in USA concerts. How
do we access Andre's concert schedule
for 2011 now??

It might be your screen resolution, try lowering it a bit. mine is set at 1024 by 768 & I have no problem. You can always adjust your resolution. right click on your desktop,click properties, settings & you will see your screen resolution. hope that helps.

Gary, I doubt that PBS will be airing the Mexico concerts. It will most likely be shown on ZDF.
As for his concert schedule, click on "calendar". We only know what is shown there.

Hi everyone!
Just got woken up by a parcel delivery.
The poor delivery man was standing in the snow with snow falling for some time as I can't get down the stairs
quickly and didn't want to wake up Keith.
I know here in London we don't have snow
like you do in USA or Scotland for example, it is bad enough if one is
disabled with a tendency to fall easily
to stay indoors. I am going to have smoked salmon with scrambled eggs for
breakfast and scampi for lunch, plus pear cider to drink while watching Andre's dvd's ALL DAY. For those Jewish
members amongst you, I found an American
company which sends out cakes. I found
one in the shape of a dreidl which I sent to my cousin who lives in Staten
Island, USA for Hanukkah. It is so unusual, I hope he will like it. Although its too early to wish everybody

I have just rung up Channel 5 TV to find out if they are going to show anymore Andre concerts. They said they had only been given permission to show
each of the 3 concerts shown twice and
hadn't been given permission for anymore. However, he said that if they did get permission they would be very
happy to show them.

I am very late today, the school where I teach Scripture had a breakfast morning on Bacon or Sausage + egg on a big hamburger bun I don't think I can eat anymore for the day I am usually vegemite & toast person, as well we had our scripture play etc. our Parish Priest came along to witness our big production, I was presented with a nice diary, certificate & a beautiful bunch of flowers as after 23 years I am giving it up, a bit sad but I really find the stairs so difficult, & I am losing my patience, I need a break, I may go back as a relief teacher but not each week; I have been enjoying Andre's new web site, it was good to go through all The JSO members & put a face to each name I like the little biography that goes with each one, the pictures are great with an invite to copy, also Andre's videos, I love the welcoming one , & all the photos from the concerts, I thank the brain & inventor behind it, I dont go into a lot of other sites But of them all that I have Andre's is The Best, it really is great, I am so tired So am of to have a rest with a man & a violin;
