Hello my dear friends - Happy February to all of you!! I just want to tell you that we are expecting a big storm here in the North and part of the storm could be 1/2 inch of ice which could mean a power outage. If that happens and you don't hear from me, Prudence will take care of the comments and anything you need. These forecasts are very unsure so it may happen or we could get all snow or all rain. Just wanted to tell you in the event we lose power.
JILL I hope John is okay and that the treatments will not be too hard on him. The good part is that he will be okay at the end of them and that is all that matters. We will be here with you both. SYLVIA I know you have a lot of pain and a bad infection but so glad you do not have a blood clot. It will take a while but your leg will heal when the infection is gone. You and Keith will be in my prayers as you have been. BRENDA I hope your daughter will soon get out of Cairo. I know they are trying to get all the people who work there or are tourists onto planes and safely out of the area and in time this will happen. I will include you both in my prayers. FAY I will be keeping Narelle in my prayers as I have been doing. She will be fine after this surgery. I just want to say that during my almost 6 years on this blog I have never seen a group as caring and kind and wonderful as all of you. You make this blog a beautiful place to be and I mean this sincerely. Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts and for being my friend. DEIRDRE I have a special email for you as your package arrived today. What a lovely friend you are! I will get it right out to you plus I will be putting a little package together of my own with some goodies from your friend in America. Big hugs to all

with a winter blizzard. White out conditions right now, blowing snow & thunder.
I guess it's called snow thunder, very unusual. I don't know if we will lose power or not
but it's possible with the heavy snow, which started with last nights sleet.
And Jeanine Ann, it's all moving your direction.
It's snowing hard here now. Sometime tonight it will stop for awhile and then we are supposed to have at least 12 inches tomorrow. I think we are trapped for at least a couple of days. Right now the cats are running in and out having a gay old time but I think that will stop as the snow gets deeper.
How is this for a February beginning!!

Dear Friends, this blog is amazing! Juandre(my son) visited Fay in Australia. Isn't that amazing! He is a big Andre fan and took the time off to visit my dear friend. This blog Rieully brings people together from all over the world,and this is all the doing of one very special person, our Andre!! Hi JOSEPHINE, I am still here so far so good. We had a layer of ice over night so we spent the morning buy another good flashlight, lamp oil, salt for the ice, food, etc. So we are prepared for whatever. You know with all the lovely photos I have of Andre and putting them on the blog I fall in love all over again every day. So I have decided I am staying in love with him forever (Clyde is okay with that - he knows it is harmless).
SHIRLEY I think you should not be sending that storm our way even if we are prepared. I just hope you and Dan will be safe there. That is a lot of snow especially when it blows. We are forecast to get around 1/2" of ice and that is a lot for our big trees and power lines. I HATE WINTER too. If you lose power I guess the blog will have to go to Sally. I know she is deep in personal work but we may not lose power and if we do maybe we will be lucky and only have a short-term loss. FAY, please keep us up to date with Narelle. Praying for you both. Hi Kay, you can get an Andre mouse pad made for you. I go to Cafe Press. That would be cafepress.com If you send them a photo they will make anything for you. They have a lot of standard items but I think you can upload a photo of Andre and they will take it from there. I am going to do that because that is one thing I do not have. I have a violin mouse pad but I bought that in a music store. Hope this helps. Hugs

We in Australia get everything weatherwise thrown at us but I think that snowstorm coming JeanineAnns way would be a worry. It is very hot this week in Melbourne sometimes 40 degrees and Queensland has that strong cyclone on the way.
I watched Radio City last night, Andre was in fine form as ALWAYS and enjpying himself so much, I am really looking forward to the new program he has this year, I know it will suit me, I am easily pleased with whatever Andre does

Hi Ruth, TROS is a German entertainment (radio and TV) company and they interview various celebrities, mostly in Europe, and have made many docusoaps of different celebs. A docusoap is like "On The Way to New York" and "Australian Adventures" and the So. African soap. They follow Andre as he goes through the rehearsals and preparations for a big tour. If you go to their web page TROS.nl you can see different items about Andre. Just put his name in the search bar and you will get Andre's page. Hope this helps. Hugs

Wanted to tell you all about the snow situation which is now a big sheet of ice. Roads are okay but you cannot walk anywhere around the yard except we did venture out to the bird feeders. All you do is crunch down through the ice and into the snow and keep walking. Everything is ice covered. On top of all that our fireplace went down last night. We are working on it now but don't know what is wrong. It is a gas fireplace and although we have and oil furnace we use this as a backup. And even worse my sister's cat is missing again. She left him out yesterday morning and hasn't been seen since. So it has not been a good night or day so far.

Hello Jeanine Ann, Josephine,Sylvia and everyone/ Yes, Jenni arrived home last night very late.She leaves for NZ on 16th Feb.
Josephine - Andre has another concert on 22nd July in Maastricht.Tickets on sale on 5th Feb.We will arrive that day so should be able to get into the atmosphere that evening although I can't afford to go twice, we can maybe have a meal nearby and hear the music.How about you?

Hi everyone, for all of you who have temperatures of 103 or around that, I think that would feel better to me than this ice.
Top photo is my sister's house (well the trees) and the bottom is the back of our house.
I would much rather have our snow than your ice! They say we had 19" & I believe it.We couldn't get out the front or back door so this morning I managed to force them open to shovel the snow away from them. we haven't been anywhere anyway. I also finally got the back garage door open to get my bag of birdseed, thought I'd go out & fill the feeders. Funny thing, i didn't realize how deep the snow was in the backyard & I stepped down & lost my balance, me & the bag of seed went down.I tried to get up but when I would put my arm out to get up I just sank back down, nothing to grab onto.I floundered about for 10 min. trying to get my footing, finally managed to pull myself up on the bag of seed.I had to laugh thinking that some neighbor might be watching & laughing their head off! I lost one of my boots before I got back onto the porch, had to change clothes when I finally got in. I didn't tell Dan about my venture, he was napping anyway. Tomorrow I'll try to shovel a bit of the driveway, depending on how cold it is. hmm, maybe I will & maybe I won't.
I would love to have a photo of you Shirley floundering around in all that snow with the bird seed. Probably no one saw you. I would stay away from the snow until it melts a little Shirley. The main thing is you were not hurt. Big warm hugs to you.

Oh Shirley, this story is too funny for words. I can just see you stranded in that fluffy stuff, and all because of your
kindness for our feathered friends. Isn't it great seeing all the different birds coming to the feeders. Seems like a lot more birds were out and about seeking out something to nibble on this year. I find it great fun. I also have several suet feeders out. Amazing how these little birds cling onto the mesh feeders with those tiny feet and enjoy their treats. Seems like an increase in the deer seeking out what ever they can get into. Many a neighbor's bush has been a target for these hearty family hunters. They look after one another so wonderfully. I also agree with Jeanine Ann about being a little saturated with this weather, but, God's little flurry fly bye's makes winter a bit more bearable. Stay safe Shirley, and really enjoyed your story.

I know you would have great memories of your pussy cat, they get into your heart and stay there. My little white fluffy dog, Roxy, was 14 last December and I kiss and tell her how much I love her everday,she is a very loyal friend.

Hi Jeanine Ann. Just looking at your photos makes me feel cold. Although we have had snow some parts being worse than others in the UK. I hate the cold,it gets into my bones. When I think back to my early teens with my girls friends we used to watch the boys in the freezing cold,my feet went numb!!! ah young love!mind you not so young now and it still happens.Dear Shirley glad you did not hurt yourself and would think the birds would be greatful too for their seed no matter where it went.I am the same with Winston (my little dog) Maureen, he loves his cuddles and really good pal to me, he is always there when I am happy or sad. I couldn't open my back door this morning either. Today it's sunny so melting fast, but another six inches due Saturday. Did some errands today but it's difficult walking especially when one knows that underneath all the snow is glare ice. Poor Hercules jumped out the window when I was feeding the birds, looked up at me (all I could see was his head) as if to say "what happened?" He made it to the bush, managed to climb up the branches and took a flying leap back to the window. He was holding on by his front paws and I hauled him in.

What is 'glare ice' Virginia?
In Maine we say glare ice when it looks great outside until one reaizes there is a film of ice over everything -- usually discovered when one starts walking. Very treacherous. It's like black ice on the roads - a thin layer of ice that drivers don't realize is there until they start sliding.

Dear JEANINE ANN, I just arrived back home (22:00)for the first time since I left this morning at 7:00. We had an athletics meeting and I had to umpire. You will be so proud of me, I shared Andre with one of my friends today! She borrowed "A Midsummer Night's Dream". I held onto the dvd for quite some time and she had great difficulty to get it out of my hand. I felt so sad to part with our man(sigh).I did it for Andre,he will bring joy into yet another home. 'Glare ice' must have been the reason I fell over at least once every day I was working in Ontario. I found it almost impossible to get from A to B in any sort of a ladylike manner.

Here is Ruth Pomeroy and her dog Winston
The photo is myself and Winston. Winston was bought as a puppy literally as a lap dog. My partner was a double bi-lateral amputee and in a wheelchair, Winston was supposed a be miniature yorkie!, but his legs grew and his body followed. He is registered with the Kennel Club in the UK, and his posh name is Count Dooku. Star Wars fans will recognize this name, we used to laugh wondering what his siblings were called is there a R2D2 or C3-PO out there we could understand Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. But you can't really shout Count Dooku when he was outside. When my partner died I think Winston knew straight away, my partner died at home. Think it was strange for Winston as we had to move from the purpose build bungalow and he couldn't run round in a garden. We now live in a back to back Lancashire weavers cottage which is a lot smaller and no garden. Going to end now, to much rambling. Take Cake All. Ruth
DEAR JEANINE ANN, I thought the TEST was to see if we had any new TESTING CHALLENGES for you!? You once mentioned that you like Andre's solos best. Well, I too. The cameras then focus mainly on our Main Man and I think that is what the ladies want to see at his concerts. WON'T YOU PLEEAASE PUT ONE/ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ON THE BLOG FOR ALL THE GIRLS TO ENJOY!? I hope the are available on You Tube and would be great solos to watch: Edelweiss, Meine Lippen and Twee Ogen ZO Blauw(Two eyes so blue). I think the last one was written for our Andre, he has the most beeaauutiful blue eyes and the cutest mouth/lips(lippen).Hope you don't fail this TEST and that these songs won't cause any major heart attacks or racing pulses to any of the girls. No,no I'm only joking, you can never fail anything in our eyes sweet friend!I hope that Shirley had a lovely birthday and that they didn't send her outside to look for any presents in the snow. Hi Steve, I cannot tell you for sure about the California area as I live on the East Coast of the United States but more and more stores and restaurants are open on Thanksgiving since it is not a religious holiday like Christmas and Easter. If you will be here four days I think you will be safe in being able to find stores open, especially day after Thanksgiving. I am sorry about your son. Does anyone else on the blog have any information about the California area? Thanks

Yes my son who was 25 was killed in an accident, it was just 3 days after myself and my other son had come back from the USA, he was saying, isn't it great Daniel & Dad get to go to America, and I get to paint Mum & Dad's bedroom!, we then decided at that moment that we would go again in 2007 but all of us, Mark said he'd start svaing straight away, sadly he never got a chnace to even start, we made a 2nd trip on 2006 to be in Hollywood on his birthday, and we also got special permission from the Hollywood Sign Trust to lay afew of his ashes near the sign, so he 'did' make it to the USA after all, and will always be there
curent paln fly to San Fransisco for 2 days, the drive down to LA for the rest of the week, just hope funds allow !

I have not had a problem - mind you I am in a bit of a whirl as I have just watched 'La Vie est Belle'. I was mesmerised. What a lovely concert - I will have to get the DVD - I just recorded it on Sky+.
I know it is an older DVD but so what? Andre was (and is still) extremely handsome. On Cloud Nine at the moment but got to calm down and get our dinner ready before the 'Dancing on Ice'is on - for UK viewers, I am not enjoying it this year at all...
What a wonderful man Andre he is - he has so much respect for other musicians and is so modest. When the St Petersburg Trio played 'Lara's Theme' I really did cry - it brought back the whole 'Dr Zhivago' film for me.
I am a bit crazy I think at the moment -I don't think I can cope with a whole concert!!!!!!!! What am I going to do in April at O2?

JEANINE ANN, I just finished watching La vie est belle with some friends. Now I know why you like it so much. This is Andre some ten years back with piercing blue eyes, no soloists or tenors, just him! The cameras focus on him alone and he plays the most beautiful melodies!My absolute favorites are: Dein ist mein ganzes herts, Ramona, Heila in den bergen,Kalinka and of course La vie est belle. Hi Deirdre, one of my favorites is Dein ist mein ganzes herz (You are my heart's delight), another is Danube Love and I also like Polishko Polie (hope I am spelling all these correctly). Wasn't Andre a living doll then!!! He still is - just a little older doll. That DVD is a shortened version of the concert. There were more songs but don't remember what they are without the CD here in front of me. One thing about Andre even at 61 he is still gorgeous! Take care my sweet friend. Big Hugs

Hi all Sorry I have been absent. Had a busy weekend. Yesterday we drove to The Cotswolds.A lovely part of UK. Darrell had a meeting there as he is on the committee of The Standard Motor Club. He has a 1939 Standard Flying 8 car. Today we have been out trying to arrange a route through the country lanes of Hampshire for Drive it Day on April 17th when as many classic cars as possible are encouraged to get out on the roads so Darrell is arranging a 2hr drive starting and ending at different locations (pubs)Hope the weather is better.Going to watch one of my favourite TV programmes in a minute. Larkrise to Candleford. It is a story about people living in a small hamlet in rural Oxfordshire at the end of the 19th century.They have nothing but each other but they are so content and happy

Gosh I have not read all my Emails as today is mon.7th. my tower decided it needed to go to the computer hospital, have been without for 5 days its been like starvation; thank you all for your thoughts & prayers for Narelle I can not believe what a beautiful lot of people you are, Narelle was 5 hrs in theatre, the surgeon came & saw me afterwards, he said he called in a friend as he needed another pr of surgeons hands, but at this point in time she is doing ok, she is still in ICU with all the bells , whistles etc yesterday she asked if she could have her mp3, so I raced to get a friend to put Guess whos music on it as she told me Oh mum I miss Andre' so much a nurse asked was that her boyfriend I laughed & said no Andre Rieu, wow you have good taste she told nelly so today she will have her music, once again I cant say thank you enough for all you caring you are a really great lot bless all of you & of course Our Man also;

glory be is the world wide weather crazy or what,so many extremes; to you Jeanine Ann, Deidre, Shirley Sylvia Josephine Judith if I have forgotten someone sorry, I can not believe the wishes & thoughts received, you are all one of a special kind bless each of you always. the dr today informed me the rupture had gone under Nellys diaphram,Around her heart & lungs never seen the like before & does'nt want to come across one like it again, He said it was a Surgeons Nightmare, there were other details he told me, the main one being she is lucky to be alive; My Parish Priest went to visit her on sunday although she is not a Catholic, He annointed Her with the special oil for the sick, he rang to tell me , He said she was asleep but I felt annointing Her was really needed anyhow, Is'nt He a beautiful person, I am most gratefull for that as those of you know its a mighty powerfull Sacrament, to day she went into a high dependance ward tomorrow she is going up to the surgical ward progressing slowly, but progressing, so all your prayers have been heard thanks lovely lovely people, I am now going to bed with a Man who is in My South African Dream;

We still had a hard time getting out of our driveway. I had shoveled enough to get us by
so we could get to the store on Friday, but we got stuck halfway up the drive, had to put some kitty litter down to get the car on up & into the garage.
I can tell you, as someone who has just turned 74, this is not the kind of activity I wished to be doing on my birthday.
Birthdays come & birthdays go, hopefully I'll have a better one next time. HA, at least I woke up.
Yesterday, with a little more melting, I was able to shovel more out of the driveway, got most of it done when a young man came down the hill to help me finish up.
(My husband has a bad back & knee so he wasn't able to help much), now they tell us we will have more snow Tuesday & Wednesday! Not so much this time but any amount is too much. I'm gonna see if I can win a big lottery & move to Honolulu!

Hi Gloria, Thank you for the comment. Winston also has a warm waterproof coat but still won't go out if raining. As you troolies can be quite dangerous roling on their own, as you say could relly hurt a toddler or child, and damage to cars. Hi dear Brenda, well I wanted everyone to have the information right away. I have this CD and it is really wonderful. It has a song called "Traumerei" (sp) and I listened to that when I was in my early 20's. It was a piano piece but I loved it and then when I saw that Andre had it on a CD I just had to have it. it is a beautiful song.

Me too! SYLVIA was Keith a Chef? Maybe you said earlier what his profession was but I may have missed it. I used to cook a lot but now it is mostly "almost ready" things or like a meatloaf all ready to cook. We eat a lot of potatoes and a vegetable and chicken. We love baby back ribs and a steak just once in a great while.

Sylvia Dover Heights & Vaucluse are are very up market they are not far from Sydney proper, homes are twice the price there to what they are in western areas where we live, we live west of Parramatta, your sisters live to the east of Sydney not far from Sydney Harbour, in fact most have harbour views, but I tell you living not far from the sea things go rusty very easily, food is more expensive, I guess I'm a westy at heart; update on her highness Narelle, today I was shown her site of operation 34 staples starting from under her boobs to well below her belly button, Shock is a simple way to explain how I felt, but today she had her first meal, she could'nt eat much of it but she did try she flatterned the battery on her mp3, but the report was she slept well, now who would'nt with Ande's music in your ear; Jeanine Ann as usual the photos are brilliant, The Valentine one He is a bit to young for me, but the one with the background of purple hearts, well would win anyones heart surely, but the one heading how he is performing now would not any one fall for this Man ; Deidre did your beautiful Juandre make it home safe & sound He is a fine young man, & I thank Him for sharing His precious time with us, & your lovely gifts, I do hope you don't have that dvd, the books especially the one about the outback are true &very funny, i looked at a lot of books about Australia but most were so heavy, the scratcher for Lulu is for humans but Jasper adores it, so Hope Lulu does too, XXX OOOO Miow

Hi Jill B and Jeanine Ann! Good morning. Keith used to work as a Service Engineer and in his spare time
he drove the ambulance and was a First Aid Trainer at our Red Cross branch. I
have always been a fantastic cook
according to everyone who knows me. I always did the cooking until I had my
heart attack on 28 Nov.2007. Had to wait in hospital for the bypass on 2 Jan. 2008. Left hospital 10 Jan. 2008.
I never knew he could cook though we had been married about 30 years at that time! Because I couldn't eat the foul food in the hospital, he used to dash in with a plate of food he had cooked.
One day he made me spaghetti with tomato
sauce and managed to keep it hot until
it got to me. Now we share the cooking. He doesn't know many dishes
but boy can he make the plates with the
food on look as pretty as the way the
famous tv chefs decorate theirs. Maybe
he learned from watching his 5 sisters
cook or me cook. I don't know. He can
also do a shampoo and set, write poetry,
carve wood, repair anything, etc. The
only thing he can't do is do banking,
letter writing and other admin. stuff.
He doesn't lose his temper like I do.
He is practically perfect as Mary Poppins was. Regarding ghastly, nasty comments about Andre, since I started
using the Internet about a year ago I
find lots of sites that seem to relish
saying vile things about anybody famous
and using fould 4 letter words. Why don't the people who own these sites take these comments off? I didn't fall
asleep until 5am today and it is now 7am
So I slept 2 hours. Keith has crept out of the house to his hospital appt., but
not before leaving me a tray of grapefruit half, cereal and a boiled egg
sandwich and a silk rose! I am so lucky
to have him. I'll never know what he sees in me. I used to be slim and goodlooking. Now I am obese with all my
parts haging down to the ground, etc. He must be wearing rose-tinted spectacles. Sorry if I have burbled on too long about Keith but the teddies think he is marvellous too. Love and hugs Sylvia
I am so sorry to hear that you had a heart attack and then a bypass. It is easy to see why you love Keith so much, what a lucky girl you are! I am sure Keith sees all the good that is in you and loves looking after you.

Hi Ruth, just want to clarify that the magazine article did not have the comments (as far as I know because I have not seen it) but the comments they usually have in their blog following the ad for that particular issue (with Andre on the cover) were from individuals who were obviously not Andre fans. Two were positive but that is all (plus now my comment). The magazine called "The Strad" is probably a reputable publication. Will let you know more when I receive it. Thanks and hugs

long? When I was 14 my mother scraped
together the money for me to have piano
lessons, which I enjoyed immensely. She
said I was better than 1 and should take the 2 exam (out of 8), Pass mark was 100, Merit 120, Distinction 130 out
of 150. I have never been good at exams
and I was sobbing and shaking non-stop during the exam! There were 2 examiners.

Hi SYLVIA, glad you left a comment. It takes a while to get on because of moderation. I have been studying the violin for only three years now and it is soooo hard. I am still playing in first and second positions depending on the music. I am just amazed at everything that goes into playing. You must learn the bowing techniques and everything must be just right or you will not get the sound you want. Then you must memorize the scales which the teacher did not have me do the first year. Then I stopped the lessons for awhile (too expensive) and just started playing songs. I have a pile of music and different music books and i just play what I can but each day you see yourself getting a tiny bit better but it is slow. No wonder they say it takes a lifetime and now I don't have that long lifetime I had long before I started. It was all due to Andre. I was so inspired by him that I thought I must learn to play the violin. I told him that when I met him and he asked how long I had been playing and at the time it was only a year. I guess he thought - you have a long way to go. haha I did play piano when I was a little girl. My mother and my aunt were very good on the piano but then I stopped and went to voice. I love to sing but over the years my vocal chords have diminished from something (who knows) and I cannot sing. I guess playing the violin is my way of expressing the music that is in me because I am always singing along with the concerts. You take care. Love U all

Good evening all on what has been a glorious day here in Southern England. One of those glad to be alive days. Took my Mum for a drive and we stopped in an area called Stokes Bay which is on a stretch of water called The Solent which separates the Mainland from The Isle of Wight where Queen Victoria built her home Osborne House. Lots of activity on the water with yachts and ferries and container ships.People walking with their dogs and children. A great afternoon. As for people writing bad comments about our Darling at one time I used to write comments back but I don't bother now. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and although I have never seen you I just know you are a lovely lady and you and Keith are lucky to have each other. As the years go by the love deepens, maybe it is not always the most passionate like in the beginning but I would prefer the deeper love in any relationship. That is what Andre and Marjorie have now. They have been married three years less than Clyde and I. They were married in 1975 and we in 1978. Our physical attributes have changed but the love has only grown stronger. but my hair is now blonde! Just come back from the doctor and she said the infection hadn't completely gone, so I
have 2 lots of antibiotics to take again. Plus she has prescribed a tablet
that is supposed to help the pain from nerve endings which I have to take at night which might help me sleep. At the moment I am down to 2 or 3 hours sleep at night. How is your poor mouth. What is happening about the root

Sylvia & Keith, you look as you write if that makes sense to to you both, you are beautiful & caring & it shows through, how is your weather, we had a southerly hereon Sunday which cooled us down a bit the hospital is lovely on a boiling hot day but when you walk out the door it hits you like a blast furnace, Nelly is doing ok she is up & walking gingerly with a walker,off all drips, though she still has a canula in, but can walk to the toilet, bed pans are the pits,since Father Paul Annointed Her she seems to have gone ahead in leaps & bounds, & maybe home tomorrow, still with staples in also a drainage tube from her tummy they showed me yesterday how to flush it that goes back through her system, & needs to be done about 5 times every 24 hrs. life is never dull; Nelly asked Dr yesterday would she be well for 13th. May therein began a conversation between them about our Beautiful Man, He too likes Andre';xxx ooo miow;

grilled lemon sole with salad, with melon to follow. I am so determined to
get slim for my cruise late September and also my pains must be less if I am not obese. I have 9 stone to lose, which is 126 lbs or 57.15 kgs. Maybe if
you could all keep your fingers crossed I might make it. I have seen many fat people in USA who wear lovely clothes, but in England they all seemed to be

Hi Sylvia. Re dentist.He is not sure whether the tooth can be saved with root canal treatment or if it will have to be extracted. He will give me the good news at my next appointment. I am a bit cross really cos there was a little hole there when I had my last check up but being a coward I didn't mention it and the dentist didn't pick up on it. If he had probably a filling would have been all that was needed. Woo. Spooky how you keep dreaming about me. Wish I had some of Bill Gates money but as the saying goes money doesn't bring happiness.Strange you should be having Sole tonight. Darrell and I were discussing Valentines Night and decided to stop at home. He said HE WOULD COOK. Well I nearly fainted. He NEVER cooks. So he asked what I would like and I said Sole Bonne Femme please to which he replied that if it came prepackaged already cooked we could have it!!!I don't mind if he does that. I looked at all Juandre's photos on Australia. He had a really good time and visited some of the places you suggested. He hugged a koala bear and was quite surprised with its coarse coat. He also stroked a kangaroo and took a photo with him standing next to the Toongabbie sign.He then went to the shopping center and was quite relieved to see that the shop "TL Hooker" was not the place he thought it to be. You see, we Googled Toongabbie before his visit to have an idea where he must go when visiting. This name appeared on Google Map and he then said to me that Fay is living near a shop for "Ladies of the Night"!! Ha-ha, the poor boy was very happy to see that it was just a shop and said that he felt sorry for LJ Hooker's wife for having a surname like that.(Funny boy.) Thank you once again for all the lovely gifts, I will always treasure them! Give Nelly a kiss and Jasper a meow from Lulu. xx
Jeanine Ann, re your comment about all that Andre' does I heard an interview a while back where He said in the beginning He did all sorts of things, like covering chairs, sewing the ladies dresses as at first they could'nt afford to rent any, so they made them, then rented a few, [too expensive]so when they could they employed a lady to do the sewing which has now turned into a full time job for a lot of women, Andre' progresses all the time does'nt He, I have a copy of a program a Vinnies customer gave me of a very early Andre & JSO, Rene, no Roger, no harp, in all a much smaller JSO, Andre' walks out into the audience, I think it must have been a tv program as there appears to be a presenter [female] its all in german that why I cant tell you much alas, & the clothes are a bit homemade not the sophisicated ones of today; if my son can show me how to copy I also have a beautiful interview our Tracy Grimshaw NRN 9 did where she asks has Himself picked up any Aussie dialect, she suggests Good Day, Andre' adds drongo, very Australian we have an awful lot of strange greetings but it sounded funny coming from Andre' beautiful mouth & way of speaking, I must fly trying to catch up before Her royal Highness Narelle has charge of my time, she may come home either today or tomorrow once again thank you all for caring you are beautiful people;

I have been food shopping and also bought a Whoopie Pan for baking Whoopie Cakes. That's BAKING whoopie girls not MAKING whoopie.Calm down. Apparantly they have been around for ages in America but just caught on here in UK. For those who don't know they are shallow tins for making little individual cakes that can be sandwiched together. You can also make savoury things in them.Look forward to trying it out. The internet says they originated in PA when the Amish women made packed lunches for their children and when they saw them they would shout Whoopie. So I expect Jeanine Ann knows of them as I think that is where she lives.Hugs to all xx
Hi dear Josephine, yes I know all about whoopie pies. We have them in all flavors, peanut butter, pumpkin, red velvet, etc. (the red velvet being a reddish colored chocolate cake with either vanilla icing or cream cheese icing). I don't like cream cheese or any cheese so I try to get the vanilla. I know all about the Amish cooking. They are good cooks especially pies. Anxious to see how you like them. Let us know!! We just came back from a show featuring songs from Neill Diamond and Celine Dion, it was quite entertaining. Tomorrow(Saturday) I'm doing Matric (GR 12) Remarking from 7 till 7 in the evening, including Sunday.So I guess no rest for the weary. I will miss listening to our Darling Man. We have had miserable weather here in the north.We have had fun this evening, my daughters bioler is not working ,so they came over to mine to have showers and baths while my granddaughter was in the bath she asked if Winston could have a bath with her! ,but we said after she had come out, Winston is not to happy but Lillie loved watching him, but he got his own back by shaking himself while still in!and gave us all a shower, Lillie laughed even though he gave us all a shower. Sylvia My Nelly maybe related to your Rose my Dads , Dad came from Ireland as a young boy, surname LAMBERT,I look like my Dad so does Nelly, I used to be terrifed of my grandad, he had a very loud voice with a heavy accent, & in my day accents were rare, whereas today every second person has some sort of accent, so who knows we may be distantly related, dont they say all Ireland is related to somebody somewhere, I am not sure if thats a hint that they were good at breeding, or are scattered throughout the world because of the potato famine, or being good convicts. quite a lot we visited the Chinese Garden near Sydney Harbour. If you like beauty and complete peace this is the place. There is a tearoom where you
can drink Chinese teas. I drank one called "Old Man's Eyebrows"! There is
also a shop there where you can hire a
Chinese outfit to wear. I had got ahead of everyone and sat on a bench dressed in this Chinese robe and everyone walked past me including Keith.
We had some photos taken of me. I also
loved the Queen Victoria Building which
had lovely shops and restaurants in it
plus a fantastic historical clock. You
have the most glorious city with the best service and friendly people. I think the Australian Tourist Board should use my services. It is now midnight here which I think is 11am your
time. By the way can you give me more details of Parramatta where you live. I

Jeanine Ann the window is no longer black great video you are so good to all of us feeding our habit its a good habit though, thank you I do love that photo of Andre, He is a Man of a thousand faces, is'nt He; Sylvia what do you wish to know about Parramatta, its historic there is an old government house there in the big park, the parramatta river, almost ends or it may start there? from Sydney Harbour you can catch a ferry it stops at a few places, last stop Parramatta[THE PLACE OF THE EELS]it is also classed as The second setlement, Toongabbie is the third, [THE PLACE WHERE CREEKS MEET]there is a lot of history out this way as land was given away so early setlers could farm I have been told Toongabbie was good for growing vegys, Parramatta started off with sheep & wool, we don't have the same history that England has or Europe, we are only two hundred & ten years old ,basicly started by convicts, they were the ones who became our Pioneers, then a few free settlers, & a few rouges as well, I have forgotten more history than I remember, there is so much to being Proud to be Australian; If you google NSW Australia it should give you an idea where places are I think we have a beautiful country, to be honest I have never left our shores, I like it best when its a bit cooler, I am so itching for May to arrive for Andre's concert in Sydney, Narelle will be free of pain, it will be a great night, for now I am off to bed with Andre'MY MUSIC MY LIFE< I fancy a funny read, night all, I am still thinking of Deidre's Juandre & Hookers, thinking that He still came lovely boy;

Gloria M what a small world we live in my Father in law came from near Llandudno He came here as a young boy, His twin sister sent in later years a piece of wood with a picture on it of beach & headland & strange too is the fact we lived at Hat Head on the mid nth. coast of NSW, & they look so similar, funny world eh;

Llandudno is still quite an old fashioned seaside town - it still has a lovely pier and a Punch and Judy man. I do most of my shopping there as the town I live in is a small market toen (although we no longer have a market!! It is called Abergele.

(50% off) Had a look at property for sale in Jones Peckover had lunch in Abergele Grill and did a bit of shopping in Tesco. Then I decided to drive to Llandudno. Took the A55 coastroad. Stopped of in Colwyn bay and bought an ice cream at the kiosk and am now sitting on the promenade enjoying the view. You don't have to be nuts to be on this site but it helps. Anyway now I know where you live Gloria. Hope your weather is better than ours Bye xx

I also watched the interviews with a very emotional Pierre talking about Andre's illness. Only then did I realise how terribly sick he was!I pray every night that the Lord protects him and keep him safe for us.I CANNOT IMAGINE A DAY WITHOUT ANDRE! WHAT DO YOU THINK GIRLS!? Hi Josephine, If you would like to look round Colne Lancashire? The town was built on a hill! and some of the streets are quite steep. The area is known as Pendle, this is because of a hill called Pendle Hill which has many small villages around the bottom. In the early 1600, a group of ladies were hung from this area as they were thought to be witches, so the area attracts a lot of tourists.The area is aslo know for waeving, first as a cottage industry then the mills. I like funny Valentine, but Georgeous says it all. you do spoil us.makes my day thank you, I have only just found that article of a few years back about the healing power of music, & I thought I had discovered something new, like a few of you I found Andre' when I had a really bad foot, [Jasper bit me]that was dec.2008, at the time I thought I'd found gold, well I guess I did really, I have so many of His Dvds & Cds & met all you loveing caring people here, that I have moments wondering what i did before Andre' came into our lives, maybe I read more books, I know I have more Joy because of That Beautiful Man, I do hope He is home with Marjorie for Valentines Day, i feel she deserves it for sharing Him with the world & us, & I do know first hand the healing power Of His Music, its not the tunes its the arrangements I have listened to the same pieces played & sung by Richard Tauber, we enjoy them but they dont have the MAGIC QUALITY that Andre's music has, it seems to have an OOMPH to it;

The owner gave Keith a long red rose to present to me. She also gave us 6 fortune cookies to take home for the teddies! Keith doesn't normally drink when he is driving, but today we had one
glass each of a U.S. Californian wine called Zinfandel which was delicious.

WOW that was nice Sylvia. And the red rose and 6 six fortune cookies. You must have a very special place you go to. Zinfandel is a very nice sweet mild wine. When we drank wine that is what we had. I have some in the fridge and keep wanting to taste some but with some of the meds I take I should not have alcohol but I guess one glass will not hurt me. We have not had any for years. We too had Chinese Sunday but it was takeout haha! Not only did I not get a rose but the guy even forgot to put the fortune cookies in the bag. But the food was delicious. We always get shrimp lo mein. That is our favorite. Glad you had such a beautiful time. Today (Valentines Day) I will make baby back ribs (they are in the oven now) for Clyde as he adores ribs (me too) and we will have potatoes and creamed spinach which we love. That is about it.
You will love that DVD - got it about a year or more ago and it is great. I think Ovation Shop is very expensive and postage to my country is outrageous. I try to get those on Amazon or Ebay. Postage is much better. I did buy a DVD from Ovation (one of the newer one) when I could not wait another day and paid dearly for it. But if it is the only place that has it what can you do. Hi all. Wow I am worn out. I am becoming such a well travelled lady. In the last week I have been to Toongabbie in Australia where Fay and Narelle live.Then Abergele in Wales where Gloria lives. Then yesterday Deidre invited me to go to her house in South Africa .I enjoyed her lovely garden Then at her suggestion I went to the waterfront and looked across to Table Mountain.Beautiful. Now this afternoon Ruth kindly invited me to Calne in Lancashire with it's lovely little villages and quite steep hills.I have walked along Market Street and River St and Bridge St. Thankyou all ladies. Hi Ruth, I remember on My Space there was a group who dedicated a page to Wallace Hartley the violinist and the orchestra. He had to memorize about 300 songs from the White Star Songbook. My husband is a Titanic scholar and he knows everything and I mean everything about the ship and everyone on it. But anyway the page disappeared before I could join as a friend but the person who had the page was an Andre fan and had his photo, along with Mr. Hartley, on the page. It was a nice page and I wish I could find it again. But it was very interesting to read. Just thought I would tell you since you mentioned the orchestra. Hugs to you and Winston

Looked him up and there is loads about him.I live only about 20 mins from the Southampon docks The Titanic sailed from.A very sad day. I love the film. Don't know how true to the real tragedy it is but when they play Nearer My God to thee it is so heart wrenching.Well 11pm now so must think about bed.I am reading a lovely historical fact/fiction at the moment by Elizabeth Chadwick. so lucky to have him. We always give each other little presents, so I got him a big Sudoku puzzle book and some
large Mejdool dates and he got me a little embroidered tablecloth about 36"
square. I collect little pretty table-
cloths. Could you give me your recipe for creamed spinach? I always hated it
when I was younger. The only way my Viennese mother could get it down me was to cream it. Now that I am an adult
I feel I might now like it, so if you can spare the time to give it to me, I
should be so grateful. Also what are back ribs? Are they like spare ribs? Do you have a recipe you can give me for that? I fancy extending my range.

and pansies for our hanging gardens today from a lovely nursery called "Crocus". The plug plants including delivery (that's 160 x 3 = 480) only cost £38. A real bargain. The

Hi Sylvia, Oh I only meant my experience with Ovation Shop not yours. I am comparing this to my experiences with Hans Music Shop in Australia who charges me no postage so of course I would like them better for my DVD's. It is not your fault.
The Creamed Spinach is very easy - I just take the whole spinach and put it in the blender until it is chopped fine. Then I make a cream sauce of milk and cornstarch and salt and white pepper. Then cook them together until it is thickened (very slow). The baby back ribs are mostly the same as spare ribs except they are thinner and very soft when cooked. I just put them in the oven with Jack Daniels Hickory Brown Sugar Bar be cue sauce and had salt and some garlic pepper and cover with foil in a covered dish and bake them for very slow for about 5 hours. They fall off the bone. Hope you will try them. Hugs

9 15pm with you and the temperature is 23C Wow . That is lovely and warm. Probably a bit difficult to sleep though. i so enjoyed looking at your lovely hose and the area you live in. I can now imagine you in your house listening to Andre. Darrell has just made me a lovely meal. Avocado with prawns in a lovely sauce and my favourite Lamb tagine with cous cous and fresh fruit and greek Yogurt.

All you Ladies with you beautiful meals, we have'nt had anything special to speak about for so long its just not funny, first off Nelly could'nt eat, now she can but does'nt want too, I can't cook just for myself, but chinese sounds good we have a good one around the corner from Hookers, will ask Nelly later what she fancies, myself I like Curried King Prawns with fried special rice , the cook there will make them for me with the flavour of curry but not the heat, when I ring to preorder He says yes Mrs Woberts & the beauty of Take aways is if Nelly does'nt eat it all she can eat what she can & keep a bit for later, she usually likes Lemon crispy chicken,whilst watching a beautiful Man Play His violin, I know its wishing my life away but I can hardly wait for the month of May we are so looking forward to Andre' & the JSO. the weather should be nice then too although it will be indoors, I think Andre' had enough of our storms, He had a real lulu in Brisbane with the first concerts He had here, when we have thunderstorms we have good ones, have a great Andre' Day everyone ;

Thanks so much for the recipes. I think I may try the spinach at the weekend. I am presuming that what you call cornstarch is what we call cornflour. I think I will do the ribs with sweet and sour sauce instead.
Let you know when I have tried the recipe. On Friday I am getting a delivery from a lovely organic farm of
Buffalo milk, buffalo custard, buffalo fillet, sirloin,rump and ribeye steaks
and buffalo mince. They have a herd of
water buffalo and the meat is out of this world! It is tastier, less calorific and with no gristle. Also cooks quicker than beef. Bye for now.

Doing so much travelling to medical appointments with John has some advantages. One of my favourite entertainers, Reg Livermore, (him with the legs if you're reading this Judith) has a show on in Dubbo on Thursday night. We have tickets and I can't wait. When I booked I told the girl in the office John isn't well and I was worried about getting him up stairs. She's put us in the front row, said there'll be an attendant nearby and gave us a discount on the tickets. What wonderful service, bless her.

The name of the country for which Andre raised funds is the African country called Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in the Sahel region along the southern range of the Sahara. Andre held concerts to raise money for Niou.In 1987 Sjef Vink and Willem van Cotthem planted trees bought with the proceeds of the GALA CONCERT to "Save the Sahel Region." I hope this will help. Dear All, Before I start to ramble, can I thank everyone for all your birthday greetings.Although I have not been out I have had a steady flow of family and friend sand lovely gifts,my sister got me the book "My Dreams Come True", and a cuddly teddy,bet you can't guess what he is called?????.still waiting for a gift, still in post and my friend has searched for Andre DVD,s but unable to get one so has given me money so I can choose. He and I are both really excited about seeing Reg Livermore tomorrow night Fay.
We both need a good laugh, and I'm sure we'll get one. It's a play he's written where he plays Nancye Hayes' son...no doubt they'll both be portraying crazy characters. I think there's only the two of them in it. It'll be on at The Seymour Centre in Sydney in a couple of weeks I think.
Gosh Sylvia that call centre would drive me nuts , my bank has a computerised answering thing , you need to add your personal bank no.s etc. its a very cultured Australian voice one that is heard for so much at the RTA, often on the rail network , the lady must have made her fortune with her voice, it is cultured unusual for Australia our voices tend to be a bit flat[my description] I hate the people who ring & tell you your computer is working slow,[Indian] i got sick of trying to explain I already have a computer man so now I just pretend I'm an idiot, I no understand that word, they hang up quick then ;Jill & John hope you have a great night you can fill us all in later, are we not fortunate in the people on this site so many people who care, & as you say all because of One Andre' Rieu, when I start to really think about this I am amazed, is it any wonder we love Him so much' I am off to bed with Him right now I think we will go to Kerakade, I like That Flying Dutchman, night all;

Your meal sounds good. I like Zinfandel, I am presuming it is the white Zinfandel which is a beautiful light peach color. There is a red Zinfandel but I don't think I ever tried that.
Our weather was pretty nice, relatively speaking, going into the 40's. I think one day will be near 60 but after that another cold front. I really don't look for any warm weather until April or May. We may have a day here and there which will be warm but nothing lasting. Guess that is one reason I always liked Florida. January and February were the only months where you could have what I would call a cold day but it would not last. Sometimes the typical winter day would be 75 to 80. Now that I could take. I love hot weather. Right now I am so sick of the cold and dreary days. It really does get depressing but when you have family who want you here, there is not much you can do. I guess it is late in London so I will wish you a beautiful day tomorrow and to all my friends in the U.K. Hugs

Dear JEANINE ANN, your dvd's are on their way!They are so intense, informative and personal. Great stuff! On one dvd you can see Andre playing tennis, he looks like a pro. During a radio interview he has the twins listening to him speaking and you can see them getting all excited when they recognise his voice.The dvd's deal with a variety of things and make you laugh and cry at the same time. Ruth you won't be dissapointed with that book it is soooo funny inpart,I often go back & reread just for the heck of it,Narelle read it too & found all the funny bits , I could hear her laughing many time; DEIDRE are you starting to get excited, is Juandre going to the concert as well, there are a lot of young people who go I notice this when they show the audience on the Dvds, I also wonder if or when a new one will come on the market, we've not had a new one since Roses from The South, I hope the SA.one is recorded & released, I know its hard to get better but it seems to me with each new Dvd Andre'improves or adds too from the last time around, when you go back & look at some of the early ones, there is a change , I wonder will a new one come up for Mother's Day, maybe for His concert here in May, a good friend sent Nelly money for flowers & a toy?[ they live on the mid north coast]Nelly said she did'nt want a toy & flowers die, could she keep that money towards buying something at Andre' concert, so she has her spending money, we are always early when we go anywhere its a habit I have, as a child my rear end always felt my Fathers anger if I was late, so we can spend time browsing, at leasure, have a good Rieully Good day
Deidre, you asked a while ago if Pierre played an instrument and while I was watching On the way to Australia You will see Pierre playing the trumpet when they congratulate Tanya and Roos on the birth of their son. It is only very short and un-official as they have their street clothes on. Do you have this DVD where Andre jockingly says that Kerstin's baby is also his!!
Yesterday I watched Live in Vienna and the emotion Andre puts into the Mozart night music is just so mindblowing and I love it very much. Am I write in saying he doesn't play Mozart that often.

Hi Char I have only just spotted your question about Maastricht.Unfortunately it is not possible to fly from UK direct to Maastricht. Most people fly to Amsterdam but as we live in Southern England it is easier for us to fly to Brussells so you could do either. Then there is a train from both airports to Maastricht. Or of course you could go with Eoro Star by train all the way I believe. I don't know if there will be any Hotels available on or near the Square at this time but you may be lucky. I alway find Bookings.com a very good site for Hotels. I hope this information will be of help to you. Good luck xx

Dear FAY, Juandre went with us to Andre's fist concert here in SA and stood infront of the stage and took some photos and videos with his cellphone. Andre gave him the thumbs-up sign!! This year he is also going to Cape Town and is taking his camera and zoom lens with to take magical photos. I haven't watched Aust.Adventure yet. I am giving a water aerobics class tonight and tomorrow I'm an official at an Atheletics Meeting the entire day!!
Hi MAUREEN, I think I've seen the dvd where Andre jokes that he is the father of Kerstin's baby. I think it is because he loves babies so much. He is crazy about his granbabies and adores them.You're right, he doesn't play Mozart much and only plays some selected pieces that he really likes. Andre also likes Verdi, he too is my favorite composer and I just love to listen to La Traviata. I don't know about anyone else but my sound on Andre's interview is not good I tried other moments & they are ok so I don't think its my speakers etc, & for all of you interested Andre' Australian Adventures is good, its the storyof the construction of The Castle, days spent sharing , the scaters learning on artificial ice, so witty remarks so worth viewing even to being careful of our spiders & Andre' killing one to the beat of the music, also a big thunderstorm in Brisbane before the concert & soooooo much more, my advice is buy it you won't be dissapointed believe me;
Fay, I have read somewhere that the concert Andre did in Vienna Wednesday last week was to be recorded so there may be a DVD on the way for you and all of us. He said he was very nervous as usual, such a lovely man, I agree with you about the sexyness and the bedroom blue eyes. I can't think of anyone who looks so good. He has the whole package don't you agree.

Residents had wondered what was happening when their clothes,teddy bears and other small items started to disappear. In total,more than 600 items have gone missing from gardens in homes in the Californian town of San Mateo.
But it finally became apparent the crook was a kleptomaniac kitty called Dusty who kept returning home with other people's belongings.
After setting up a night-vision camera, they recorded footage of him going out under cover of night and dragging back his loot.
The cat's owners say his record haul is 11 items in one night and he particularly favours female swimsuits and he was even caught on camera making off with a bra.-Orange News

Yippee. Today I received my box of 3 dvd's called Andre Rieu: The 100 Greatest Moments. The cost including
shipping from Australia worked out at £10 sterling per dvd! Fantastic or what! I was at first disappointed that he doesn't talk and joke on these dvd's,
but wow the music. DVD1 is 2hrs 7mins long, DVD2 is 1 hr 40mins long and DVD3
is 1hr 49mins long. There is Strauss,
Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, etc., Christmas songs, singing in the rain, a whiter shade of palegone with the wind, etc. There is a lovely scene where the
piano and the rest of the instruments are played in a garden, with the orchestra's children playing around them. The pianist is holding his daughter on his lap, etc. Such a wonderful family scene. You really must
get this. You have got about 6 hours
entertainment. Watching these 3 dvd's one after the other while Keith worked in the garden was bliss as I was in
excruciating pain and for those hours I
felt no pain. I think Andre should be on everybody's prescriptions by the National Health Service if they are in pain or depressed! The NHS coluld save
a fortune and not have to get rid of nurses, doctors, etc. which they are planning to do at the moment. My teddies are dancing round the room because they are besotted with Andre.
I have just had rhubarb compote for pudding with buffalo's milk custard. Wow it was ambrosic! I have entered a
competition to try to win 2 tickets for
Andre at the O2 in April (it is only 10
minutes from where I live). Wouldn't it be lovely if I could win. If I wasn't well on that day, I could always
give them away as a present. Just a dream, but wow if I did win......
I am using the pause button on the dvd
machine so I can see Andre's eyes staring into mine. He seems to mesmerise children in particular. To
have lived in the period when Andre was
alive is just too marvellous. How lucky we all are. I hope John, Narelle

oranges for me as a juice.! I also got

Hi all. Jeanine Ann. I notice your Birthday is 29th February!!. Which day do you celebrate it. Just want to know for when I pop round with Champagne and a Birthday Cake. I only wish I could. Wouldn't that be great. I have just baked a birthday cake for my sisters birthday tomorrow. Hi dear Josephine, I will celebrate on the 28th I guess. It really is no celebration as you get older haha! Oh when you drop in could you please bring Andre with you!!?? Then we can have a real party!! I guess in reality you would keep him for yourself but I was hoping you would make an exception on my birthday. : ) That cake you are baking sounds wonderful. Isn't it nice when we still bake cakes for our family birthdays! Since I no longer have time, my cakes come from the local bakery. I often wonder how I ever found the time for a full time job when I was working. We are now working (in our spare time) on our Christmas village which will stay up all year. It is huge and it takes months to get it finished. Will put some photos up shortly for the part which is finished. We work with miniatures and some of the houses I made about 20 years ago when I did ceramics and sold them. It is so much fun. Hope you and Darrell are fine.

Apparently my incoming emails are being blocked so my friends tell me, so, if any of you dear people have sent me an email in the last 4 days and it's been blocked, it's not me that's blocking it. It's that gremlin in the system.
I can't send emails out either, so it will be interesting to see if this message gets through to the blog.
OOOOOOh Jeanine Ann, is that Photo Sexy I can drown In His eyes but those beautiful ears really do it for Me, they are beautiful are they not how can one person have so many great features, thats before we even come to His Music' I have just finished drooling, I know Andre' needs to protect those lovely eyes .just as well eyes & ears in 1 photo would be too much for me on a Sunday morning, but I don't specially like those glasses, I am not fond of the horn rimmed spectacles either, much prefere those rimmless ones He used to wear, still I remember him saying in Fairytale Marjorie did'nt like them, made Him look too serious ; Narelle is progressing slowly,very slowly, this operation has taken a lot of the stuffing out of Her & of course we are back to awful hot humid weather which does'nt help, we have ceiling fans, lounge & 2 bedrooms+ a couple of box type fans, I live for a southerly change, sorry to moan but I am a cold weather person I should Have been born in England Or Ireland, i love it during the winter, Andre' will be here in May a nice time of the year in Australia; can hardly wait not only for Andre' but the weather also, for all you lovely people have a Rieully great day , miow to Cotton & Lulu;
Let's all have a special birthday party for Jeanine Ann who is such a special lady. She keeps up the enthusiasm for that Wonderful Man, not much encouragement needed. Hi Everyone.....I'm going, I'm going where????? to the MEN at Manchester on 21st April, gone mad and bought 2 tickets, we are in H block floor seating, hopefully I am going with my daughter, we are taking a change that the baby will be born before then,she is due around the 12th April but we don't think she will go to then, she is quite big now and various medical people have said that baby's head is down.I have told her if nothing has happened by 12th April we are going to take her on a long, long bumpy road!!!!.I'm soooooo excited. Yesterday(Sat)I bought a"new"cd called:
On a Blue Evening with Andre Rieu. On the cover is a very handsome young Andre with his first ever three-piece suit, a blue-grey one.It must be one of his first recordings because it features him and The Maastricht Salon Orchestra. This orchestra consisted only of Andre,Hettie Jannsen,Jean Sassen, Frans Vermeulen and Jo Huits. This recording was made way back at a concert in Hamburg and consists mostly of Dutch Folk Songs and very little Strauss.I must agree with Andre, Johann Stauss has made a difference in his music. It is sooo beautiful and no one will ever get tired listening to it. I also bought: Best of Andre Rieu Live in Concert with Srauss and more Strauss. After listening to it, I said:"This sounds more like MY Andre!"Most cd's here in South Africa are ones recorded during concerts with the audience singing along.I wonder if that isn't the reason why they don't play Andre's music that often over the radio!?

Hello everyone, our day (after Church) turned into a long day. We stopped at Starbucks and got our usual drink and then three more stores to get some things we really needed to get today so it was ten to four when we walked in the door. Did a little practicing and then had to get dinner started. I wanted so badly to get on the blog so here I am but rather late for you DEIRDRE. I did get your email and I will get a reply to you but I guess right now it is rather late in SA which by the way is seven hours ahead of us which would be New York time and right now your time is 12:42AM and our time is 5:42PM. Since you asked, my dear friend, I live in the State of Pennsylvania which is surrounded by New York, New Jersey and Maryland. That is on the East Coast of America. We are part of the Mid-Atlantic States. Regarding the CD "Blue Evening" I am not sure if I have it. I counted 93 CD's but I think I have a few duplicates thanks to PBS. I am making an inventory of all CD's and DVD's. Deirdre, do you want CD's without any singing like the sopranos or tenors or those without the sing alongs which were mostly with the Salon Orchestra. I have several with the people in the audience singing along and they are local songs which Andre played in the cafes when he first started? I am also going over your list to see what you do not have according to my inventory because I am sure I have most if not all of them. I have a few CD singles like "The Rose" (an old CD), "Please Don't Go" and do you have the single Andre made for the Australian bush fire relief? It is called "Yours Forever". I ordered about 10 of those since they were for the Aussies and still have several left.
I hope all of you will have a great week. Oh I spent about 4 hours last evening downloading photos of Andre from LIFE. Some I had from another source and different occasions where Andre was photographed (like The Today Show in NYC) but they are different poses and really quite nice. So from time to time I will put them on the blog so you can all see them. He really does look quite gorgeous and I was having a good time. Dear PRUDENCE, thank you so much for all the info on "A Blue Evening".I did sort of figure out that Andre was not the Main Man. On the Cd are the following tracks: Oeteldoks Gekwek, Eine Kleine Salonmusik and Hasja Hopsasa (Spiel Doch Tzigane met sang Peer vaan den Muggenheuvel).I do understand most of the words the audience is singing, Afrikaans(my home language) has many Dutch and German words. I'm not particularly fond of the Cd, because the singing of the audience is drowning out the music. But, it is good to have and I see it as a collector's item. Lovely day to you my friend! xx

I like old: architecture, furniture,
clothes, manners, etc. There has been some lovely music on the radio today to
which I have been listening. Grieg's Piano Concerto; Chopin Polonaise in F
Sharp Minor;Beethoven Pastoral Symphony.

Hi GLORIA and SYLVIA. I am not much of a reader and there are so many books I would love to read but have no time. If I did, I would prefer a real book and not an e-book. There is something about a book in your hands that feels so nice. Clyde is a big reader and we have many books. Lately the only one I read is Marjorie's book and I am on my second read but I would need to be sitting in a doctor's office or something like that where I can absolutely not do anything else. My sister has a Kindle but that is not for me. Big hugs

I don't like the look of these Kindles also - they look so impersonal. I love to go to bed (when my husband is watching golf or football) and get a good book out to read. I no longer have the time to read like I used to do nor can I knit or crochet like I used to do but 'c'est'la vie'- I have a busy life and it stops my brain from stagnating!!!

Hi Jeanine Ann, Thank you for the great photos, how do you do it, I think I speak for us all, your a champ!!!I like the way Andre is smiling all the time and usually at us!!I recieved Andre Rieu at Schonbrunn.Vienna, I watched it with my granddaughter (well sort of if you can watch anything with a 2&1/2year old.) But she did like some of the music and was dancing about,she really likes the The Anvil when the lady screams when the french horn is put under her skirt!she calls Andre mommas man, I wish!!!!.Hope everyone is keeping well. Fay I hope Narelle is feeling better. Speaking of DVD, I am to get replacement DVD's for the one's that were not right and return the others so that good. OOOOOOH Jeanine Ann you have really spoilt us this time, I wonder do you realise how happy you make us feel when a body logs on & finds all those great photos, if you were closer I would give you a great BIG HUG, alas it has to be sent via Email, thank you; I spent quite a while yesterday on Andre's web site looking at all the photos there are some good ones there;; Thank you all for your thoughts & wishes for Narelle she is getting better slowly we went to the library yesterday for me to enroll in Computer Pals, & because She made the effort to come the Lady in charge said she could come too she was looking at a screen that was for graphics so she is going to do that, I explained to the lady that all I knew Narelle had taught me, so I am going to do more about emails then photography, which for those of you who post photographs will know that I dont know, but that trip was the most she has been able to do, we went to our local shops [by car] last week at one moment I thought she was going to faint so she is slowly improving; strangely she has not gone back to watching Andre' but then at the moment her escape is into cartoons, & I must admit I like some of them too, we especially like Scooby Doo, there is a lot of the inner child in all of us, I found it quite fascinating to see Andre playing with a Remote controlled helicopter, He also said The child within all of us is important, I too believe this, Have a Rieully lovely day ; ;

Hi all on yet another dull dismal UK day. Just been to the dentist for the first of two appointments for root canal treatment.I was petrified but there was absolutely no need to be. The thought of ir turned out to be far worse than the actual treatment. So if any of you dear people ever have to have it done don't worry about it.
FAY. A Kindle is Amazons own make of ebook reader.You pay to download a book onto it. I definitely don't want one of those. Like you other dear ladies I love the feel and smell of a book and the look of it on a shelf or in a bookcase.I didn't read for many years but now I read every day and get stressy if I don't have another lined up ready and waiting. I have my lovely nephew Oliver stopping for a few days as they are on school holidays. He loves to help Darrell with his classic car. Oh dear JOSEPHINE, I had a dentist appointment yesterday. He was in such a hurry and gave me a local anaesthetic. Before it could even kick in, he started drilling. I nearly wet myself in the process!I was trying to tell him that I was in pain, but he must have thought I chuckled with deligh. Well, when I got home I couldn't feel a thing and had to drink my tea with a straw! Only Jeanine Ann could lift my spirit with those lovely photos.Hugs xx

I feel so sorry for you - but glad that Jeanine Ann's pictures helped you.Two years ago I went for a filling; dentist said she couldn't fill it and proceeded to remove the tooth BUT she struggled and struggled and asked her assistant to get some bigger pliers - and all this while I am lying in the chair.
She then said that I would probably have to go to hospital as it was stuck AND I had an abscess!!!! She eventually got it out and I had to phone my husband to fetch me.
I felt so ill and next day went to the hospital only to be told I now had SHINGLES (all down to the trauma. The shingles was all down the left hand side of my face and in my left eye. I still suffer with PHN and only Andre makes me feel better!

I will be attending the Cape Town Concert on 11 March. We will be flying down, because it is a 13 hour drive from where we live. Last year we went to Sun City and sat way up on the first level.I could see the stage but Andre was too far away to see his face. I had to watch the screen. That was kind of a blessing because we could see the stray tear on his cheek with the cameras focusing on his face. The people near the stage missed it. I remember the BIG DEBATE that followed in the papers the next day.The papers stated that Andre was very emotional, and that he had cried openly on stage. A lady that was sitting in the 3rd row said that it was bullsh..., he didn't cry! The next day another lady confronted her and said:"We don't all have the money for front row seats, but if you sat where I sat, on the cheap seats looking at the screen, you would have noticed the tear!So, next time, buy a cheaper chair!!"It was sooo funny. I wish I had the lady's address, then I would have sent her the photo of our Darling Man, shedding a passionate tear!Well, this year we are sitting in the middle block in front of the stage in row 13.I will wait in the isle for Andre to enter. When I have his eyes on me, I will faint with the hope that HE will give me mouth-to-mouth resuscitation! WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT MY DEAR JEANINE ANN?? It will just be my luck that an old "Bag" will come to my rescue!Haha PLEASE COUNT WITH ME, ONLY 17 DAYS TO GO! Love you xx

Deidre you are so funny, & I feel sorry for the person who missed those soooo emotional tears they are so on the DVd at times running down the side of His Face, for any of us who know how Andre' conducts Himself on stage it was so emotional even at the end as He put His Violin to bed He said I am not cut out for all these emotions I quit, Kimmi really moved Him to tears many times, also the children when they were in Maastricht. I feel sorry for that person she missed something wonderful A MAN genuinely being honest with His public; it would be nice to faint into His arms but think what you would miss; I remember the day we saw Him in Blacktown, 2 stations west of Toongabbie He & Mirusia were promoting "YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE" CD.we all got autographs there was only the table between us that was a beautiful experience, I said to Narelle now I can die happy, you know what she said well don't do it now, but those eyes are really something else, I felt He could look into my inner self, BEAUTIFUL POWERFUL EYES, we have 2 cds with autographs the one mentioned above & also FEAST that has some recipes on the book inside, they are precious ones, but then all we have of Andre' is precious for us, the next 13 days will be long ones for you, I hope later you can share a little of the concert with us ;

55 YEARS and sob my heart out. I was so
terrified. I took out a private dental
insurance plan for Keith and myself. It
costs £26.95 a month for the two of us
and we have the loveliest dentist who is so kind and gentle. He has done major work for the two of us and the
insurance company paid most of it.

this is for Australia dont know if it may happen elsewhere, I had a phone call from a male strange accent, telling me that the Taxation office & Prime minister owe me $7.600 wrongly deducted from my age pension over a number of years I was to go to our local Post Office get a western union send money form & ring him back,I like to think I am not tooo stupid so rang taxation office also Centerlink which is our old social security this is not true so for all in Australis & maybe elsewhere BEWARE ITS A SCAM, the phone no. to ring person back is not connected, so I wonder if a person was sitting watching as He did'nt ring me back, so be careful if someone rings & tells you the taxation office owes you money blow a whistle into the telephone

Poor things, it must have been a hellish night. We have friends there but they live a fair way from the centre, so are hopefully okay. Everyone has been asked to leave the phones for absolute emergencies, so I won't know for sure for a few days I guess.
It is hard to watch the news of the earthquakes, no matter where they happen. I believe I heard this was the worst one for New Zealand. I got a report from one of my Shirley friends in Christchurch, just a part of what she said, "Hi Shirley we returned to my flat today after staying 25 Km south of Christchurch with my son overnight and where we are again tonight. Structurally the flat is fine although we have no water or power, but inside a terrible mess with all the kitchen cupboards emptied on the floor with broken plates and storage jars. In the
lounge the TV is thrown on the floor and the computer work station tipped over. Two girls from our neighboring flat and Andy's son Craig helped us clean up which took five hours. Still no power so no vacuuming". This has to be a nightmare for the kiwi's.Not much you can say in these situations except we care & will help in any way we can. Doesn't it seem, like anymore, we live on an angry planet?

to the sweet person who was sorry about the earthquakes in Australia , naughty naughty, New Zealand Is not a part of Australia they are 2 islands east of Oz & think they are better than us convict stock, to tell a person from there they were Australian can really cause a blue that would be a bit like telling a Scotsman that he was English, its ticklish to say the least; Tasmania which is a south Island south of Victoria that does belong to Australia, & was a big horrible penal colony in its early days, New Zealand people when they speak have a nice accent, a bit of a broad but clipped English accent[ chips sounds like cheps, its a funny world I feel so sad for the people in Christchurch a lot of Damage done, early today there were 62 dead to see the damage its lucky there were not more, the Armed Forces have been called in, also of importance in the word ANZAC, that means Australian New Zealand Army Corps, & we always have football games against each other The N.Z. always do what is called The Harka, A Native warning;;
FAY I am sooo sorry. That was me having a senior moment AGAIN. I know perfectly well it is New Zealand that has had the earthquake.My sister live in North island and I had a wonderful time there with her a few years ago when I wasn't so gaga. What a nut case I am at times.

Had our medical tests today, that is why I am late. Want to be sure I am in good shape in case Andre does come to the United States this year. Didn't get my heart checked but I will take the chance there. Let's get him here first.
On a serious note - I am so sorry for the people in N.Z. I emailed Reuben Simpson who runs the NZ web site and he said he is okay and has no family in ChristChurch but he knows people who do. He said it is terrible there. I saw the devastation there and I said a prayer for all those people. My heart goes out to all our friends there. Hugs

Oh dear Deirdre, my heart - I lost that six years ago when I first laid eyes on Andre!! I take meds but they are absolutely necessary or I would not take anything. Andre would be enough for me but as you get older you need a few other things for your body. I think you had better add tranquilizers and heart meds to your medicine cabinet after you go to your concerts!! But seriously dear friend I hope you have a beautiful time. I cannot say I am not jealous because I am : ) But I am sincerely happy for you and for all who will see Andre this year. I am still hoping and praying for a concert in America. the Latest news here re the earthquake is over 700 still missing, the death toll is up to 76, no survivers are expected very grim to say the least, there has been so much damage done I believe NZ. is built on a geological fault, not much else in the way of joy at the moment;

or covers) but I have now decided that my favourite is Andre in Wonderland.
It is like Grimm's fairy tales come to
life. There are camels, dwarves, a snake, ballerina, The lovely clarinet
player whose name I can't remember, has
been made to look like a witch. Every
thing you have ever read in a fairy tale is there in front of your eyes.
Hansel and Gretl are played by Carmen and Carla, Mirusia is Sleeping Beauty etc. Do buy it if you haven't seen it.
It lasts 150 minutes! For lunch today
Keith cooked me buffalo burgers, sweet
potato, carrot and parsley mash and peas, followed by blackberry and apple
compote. Delicious. Tomorrow I am doing the cooking. By the way for those of you who live in England, try to buy fresh tomatoes from a company called
Thanet Earth in Kent, who grow them
hydroponically. You have never tasted
tomatoes as sweet as these. Marks & Spencer sometimes sell them as well as Asda. I never could work a computer
till last year. I went to a course run
by a tutor at the Age Reminiscence Centre in Blackheath. It bored me to
tears, so I was crying on Keith's shoulder. He decided to teach me the
basics very gently because I am so
impatient these days and succeeded. I
can't doalot on it, but enough to handle most emails and go on the Internet. I hate the junk email I get:

New Zealand is called the Shakey Isles, I learnt that at school but I think they have had their fair share of Mother Natures wrath at the moment. Television coverage is just horrific.
Deidre, we are counting down with you,enthusiasm can be contagious. Just make sure you have new batteries in your camera,we are expecting a close up of 'the eyes', we know you can do it, no pressure.

I've been busy all day preparing a one and a half hour presentation on Andre I've been asked to give at a U3A class tomorrow. I hope I can do Andre justice. It's not till tomorrow afternoon, so if anyone has any suggestions for things I must mention I'll be glad to include them.
I've decided on reading passages from "My Music My Life" between selections from Maastricht 2, For Love and Live in Australia. How does that sound to you all?
I've just run through it with John and it seems to be giving a good overall mini view of Andre and his team.
I'm a bit nervous I must say. I did one on Daniel O'Donnell before he came here last year and managed to fill a bus to go to Sydney to see him as a result, so I hope I can do the same for Andre. I'm not sure if there's any tickets left for May though, so had better check first before I suggest a bus I guess.
Hi Jill, what you have sounds good to me. Does it include his biography and all the musical training he had? You might add how he composed a song for the people of Australia during the bushfire period "Yours Forever". You might also mention his work in the Sahel in Africa. He is such a caring man. I only mention these if you have time and if you do not already have these things mentioned. We are really lucky with our climate in UK. Today has been absolutely glorious. Warmest day of the year so far. We decided to do a shop in Tesco as we were passing by the door and they had the heating on in the store. It was unbearable.I suppose it goes on and off at certain months whatever the weather

Age? i,e, for people over 60. I wish you luck. I am sure people will love the talk. When I worked at the Red Cross, one of my favourite jobs was giving talks to many different kinds and
ages of people about the history of the Red Cross, etc. I used to time it for
1 hour and never used notes. One time
the people loved it so much, they asked me to stay and do some more. I spoke for
another hour. When you can hold people in the palm of your hand with interesting in formation, it is very heart-warming. Definitely mention the work in the Sahel area of Africa. Mention that he encourages children to

Talking about "round here", where I live, I was looking on the guestbook at Andre's official website there is a lady who has put a comment on and she was from Pendle Hill Australia!!Pendle is the area where I live, Pendle Hill being a local landmark. It would be interesting to know how the name came to Australia.

RUTH I rang our local library re Pendle Hill, A man called Bond, George Not James, owned land where He started BONDS Factory, the town was called Pendletown after a place in Lankashire? England where there were cotton mills, Mr bond asked for a railway station to be built so His workers could easily get to work, so the rail station was called Pendle Hill as it is a bit Hilly up & down, I cant find out any more than that, if you wanted to go into the councils site it is, www.holroyd.nsw.gov.au, clik onto your city, then local history, gosh you lady's are teaching me a bit, it amazing what you can do when you try;

Hi Fay thank you for the info there is no town in Lancashire called Pendletown, so I think George Bond made up the name, Pendle Hill is quite steep when I was a lot younger I walked up Pendle Hill, it is tradition to go up Pendle Hill on Good Friday, think it is to do with the Pendle Witches, there are quite a few websites about them, tese days it is thought that the 2 families involved would be classed as people with learning diabilities, but the witches are good tourism. the web site is www.pendlewitches.co.uk. FAY I have had a quick look on the site you mentioned, also there are 2 Pendleton's 1 near Manchester and 1 very near me, don't know why I didn't twig, only about 20 mins away by car and is at the base of Pendle Hill.I have spent this afternoon listening to Himself have recieved 100 Greatest Moments while trying to find the parents of George Alan Bond to see there was a conection to here, only thing I have so far is that his parents are named George Henry Bond and Jane Redfern married March 1870. The name Redfern/Redfearn rang a bell, there was an Anne Redfearn who was hung as a witch and she lived in the area of Pendle. I believe Silvia said that she has some 30 or so dvds and had to be careful not to duplicate them.I found that the moonlight serenade dvd is in fact the live in Australia.
I may be missing something (besides a loose screw in my head )But can anybody tell me if Andre has made a recordind with the John Dunbar Theme From Dances With Wolves.

Yes Sylvia, it's University of the Third Age - for retired or semi retired people, usually over 55, but it's flexible. Always nice friendly events.
Everyone had heard of Andre of course and knew a bit about him and some were fans like us. Anyway, the ones that hadn't seen his DVDs before (I can't imagine why they haven't)were all very impressed and I was very happy with the oohs and aahs etc in response to the selection.
Everyone wanted to know could they get tickets for May and have asked me to do another afternoon on him ASAP. So, I think it was a success.
Ruth I have just been scrolling through reading bits I missed or read in a hurry I note you say its a sign of love if your cat bites , Ha mine must love me lots I always seem to have a bite getting better an infected one or a new one, my Jasper has the sharpest teeth, He only eats raw chicken wingettes, He crunches the bone down as well, I am forever picking up after him,if you saw my legs you would say He loves me it was because of a bite & Christmas that I found Andre' so I reckon we owe him some extra love for that , & He loves Andre' too; night all once again I am off to bed with a Man who plays The Violin rather beautifully ;
Hi Fay, Winston has chicken but only fillets!!!! my partner had fed him on chicken from being a puppy which was not really good for him, since my partners death I have managed to mix biscuits with the chicken, it took a while but he is fine now.We do spoil our pets, mind you he is like a child! when my granddaughter comes it is who can get on grandmas knee first.Luv Ruth

I'm in heaven(eh nearly, I'll soon be when Andre comes to SA), I have just received the Moonlight Serenade CD/DVD from my dear friend Sylvia! Thank you soooo much,Girl. You are a *I love listening to Andre's CD's when I'm on the road. They have a calming effect on me while driving, and believe me, you need to stay calm on the South African roads.

GIRLS, whom of you have the DVD: AR A Fairy Tale? I just loved The Teun in Grinzing where Pieter said: "My wine, My wine" over and over again and the whole orchestra just kept on drinking wine and they all became so "merry" from all the wine. They were sooo funny and our poor Andre couldn't believe his eyes. Off course they were hopeless and our poor Andre had to cancel the rest of the recording!I also bought A. Rieu 100 Years of Strauss and BOND(with those sexy girls that played the song Victory with Andre).So, a great weekend lies in front of me,filled with music!

Andre'is really Encouraging us to re educate ourselves,we really share so many subjects here , Jill if you are doing any more talks about our Lovely Man may I suggest you try to purchase, "Andre Rieu"A Celebration, its a large book of only a few pages but the photos & articles are so good even one of Jeanine Ann's pictures & a bit about the site we are now on, I have forgotten the price ,maybe it was &25.00 no more I got mine from Ovation,it is a precious book & would be great for your talks easy for people to see it was done by Australians I think the pictures are beautiful[ I wonder Why?] very interesting about the witches of Pendle Hill I will look them up later; re persons coming here in the early days most of the "well known names" came here because they had been a bit of a drinker or a gambler & were sent here to reform Ha Ha some became very famous & really helped in the development of Australia some I would put a ? mark against, then of course so many convicts came here, at times I am sure the truth was well stretched, I can honestly say we have a colourfull history, I am happy to live in this part of time, not sure about the "good old days" we did have a washing machine as I was growing up in Sydney but my Grandparents who lived in the country had only tank water no electricity no sewerage my Nan when she boiled the fuel copper to wash saved both water & rinse water to have a bath in, I loved being there in the school holidays, I could roam the bush collecting sticks for the stove, I used to collect enough to last till the next lot of holidays, My Pa taught me which wood was good for fast cooking & which for slow, I guess this would be a lost part of todays culture, the greenys would not like it; DEIDRE don't get too excited & faint think what you will miss, I am sure you will not miss one second of Our Beautiful Violinist;
I just googled pendle hill witches'there are quite a few sites to click onto I did one but find it too sad, I used to like movies about witches warlocks & vampires but seem to have outgrown them, my granson visited today He's 22 i was watching Andre' & he said what do you see in that music [ He is a rapper not my type of music at all] any how I said listen to this , Andre' played Ben, after a while he said not bad, his name happens to be Ben so I had a reason to play it then He sat & listened to the rest of the dvd of the concert in Sydney; DEIDRE don't you just love the Fairytale, if you look at it enough you will find a Lady dressed in a long blue dress not unlike the Jso material & jacket it was the jacket that drew me I think its a rare look at Andre's beautiful Marjorie, she would have been able to drive to that concert as its not to far from Maastricht, I feel I've written this before my brain is in slow motion I go to bed tired & get up feeling the same, I will be happy when we have cooler weather, night all I am off to bed with my 2 special guys;
Hi Fay it is very sad about the pendle witches as we know today,I think it would have very frightening in those days if you were "out of the ordinary", for one thing if you lived to about 70-80 you must dabble in magic or with the devil as most people only lived to about 35yrs, also these ladies would probably have know about herbs.A lot of people in the villages would also not have had any education, being poor would have been awful too. Morning all. Hope you are all well.We went out for dinner with an old school friend of mine and her partner last night. She and I have known each other for 50years. We meet up 2 or 3 times a year in different places. Last night we met at a lovely thatched pub which is situated about half way for each of us and about an hours drive away. She is now getting more and more intersted in Our Beloved Andre and said she wished they were coming to Maastricht with us which would have been great.
Jill. So glad everything went well and you have now found some more Andre converts. How can any Red Blooded woman not love him!!
I am going to try to find time today to make some Whoopie Buns. I have had the bun tins and recipe book for a while and am dying to try them.I will let you know how they turn out. Hugs to all especially our New Zealand friends xxx
There were a couple of men there Josephine who hadn't seen Andre in action before either (goodness knows how they've managed that). I could tell at the start they had come fully expecting not to like him. It only took about five minutes before I noticed they were beaming, the same as everyone else.
I'll have to get myself a copy of "Celebration" Fay. I do buy from the Ovation shop, so will add it to the list next time.
I'm giving the next talk after the concerts in May, so have plenty of time to worry about it... I started going through my DVDs yesterday trying to decide which to use - altogether too much choice....
I got as far as deciding to definitely include Frank playing the carillon from Heidleberg and follow with he and Marcel's fabulous act. Think I'll start with Andre playing You Raise Me Up from Roses From the South.
That's as far as I've got. Any suggestions welcome.

Ye. I am just a bit excied.Just noticed Our Darling has added another Maastricht concert on 24th July which means there will be a Concert all the 3 nights we are there.There are better seats available on 24th than we have on 23rd but hey can't be greedy can I?Well yes I can where Andre is concerened. But just to be there and soak up the atmosphere will be 'zeer prachtige' Thats probably not correct but sounds good.
The verdict is still out on the whoopie buns. Not quite sure about them.Not spectacular but edible.The smallest quantity you can make with one egg is 15. I made coffee ones. Think I will try savoury ones next time
It's 16 45pm UK time and after a day of wind and rain the sun is shining. Nearly time for a glass of Sparkling Pink Vino. Cheers everybody.

I find myself counting the rows when watching our Lovely Man's dvd's to see how far back Row R (18 rows) is from the stage. It is much too far back to see our Darling Man's facial expressions. So I guess I will have to watch the screens as well not to miss aaany thing! I wonder if I must make a poster?? Please LADIES, help me out here!If it is all right, what should I write on it? Dear FAY, I'm writing to you while I know you are still asleep, dreaming sweet dreams of a lovely man playing the violin. It is now 8 o'clock in the evening in SA and 5 o'clock in the morning in OZ. You are right, I don't want to miss a millisecond of our Man at the concert. I am going to fit some matchsticks in my eyes to keep them from even blinking!! How about that!? We bought a very good flash and monopod for Juandre's camera today in order for him to take the most beautiful pictures ever of our Gorgeousness! Juandre said that he would waltz with me while his dad takes some pictures. Johann doesn't dance and is more than happy to try out Juandre's new camera.When you wake up, it will be only 12 days before I go the concert. Isn't it cool!? Meow to Jasper

Hi FAY. Talking about your Nan brought back so many happy memories to me of days spent with my Nan. I spent most of my weekends and school holidays with my lovely Nan. She would collect me on a Friday night and take me home on a Sunday night.School holidays I never went home. HI shared a bed with her which was wonderful. A big thick heavenly feather matress which you almost needed a ladder to climb on to and then when you were on it it just enveloped you with a lovely warm safe feeling and then Nans arms around you whilst you fell asleep. What a happy carefree safe world.Unfortunately she left us far too early in her early 60's
What a wonderful hard working lady she was.Lost her husband in the war and brought up 4 children alone.I miss her xx

MEMORIES, where would we be without them, so many precious moments to cherish, I personally have many my most precious was the day Andre' came to Blacktown,2009 we got His Autograph with only a table between us & those eyes when He looks up at you I said to Nelly now I can die happy, her answer was well not now please; Deidre I can almost physicially feel your excitment I hope that concert is recorded on dvd so we can look for You & Juandre dancing, I passed on the Hooker story my Grandaughter really saw the humour in it, I know you will enjoy the concert, just don't faint ;Narelle is not eating much, it seems to be hard for her to bounce back, at Mass today Father's homily was about worry some bright spark has broken it all down the fact we worry 60% of the time but only 1/2% is necessary, ha ha, some male persons idea no doubt they have never been a mother, thats for sure, have a Rieully lovely day all; xxx ooo meow

stage in London in the 70's. I have always adored her, but seeing her in person doing about 3 hours, I felt shivers down my spine because of her charisma. One of my best evenings in a
theatre!
Re cars: I reckon Keith and I have one of the DIRTIEST. Now that we are both
crippled with arthritis, we can't bend to do it. I say to Keith every week
that we should get somebody to clean it,
but apart from not trusting the people,
he thinks it is too expensive. So it
may or may not be clean when we see

Hi Sylvia, I am sure that Shirley McLaine was a delight to see in person.
I have only seen her in movies. I was never much interested in my name
til I joined a Shirley Club. They are interested in anything Shirley.
I have found there are many towns in the US & the UK with the name.
There is even a Shirley, New Zealand, which is ironically a suburb of Christchurch.
We have a Shirley tulip, which goes quite well next to an Andre tulip as they
are very compatible in color, the Shirley being a more pale lavender.
I always thought that girls, born around my time, were named Shirley because
of the popularity of Shirley Temple. But I used to know a boy named Shirley too,
so who knows. Anyway, it's what I'm stuck with.

but I always wanted a grandmother. Both had died before I was born (one in

SYLVIA My dear friend. No of course I don't think you are doolally. It's good to have an imagination. I have quite a large family I loose count. I have 5 sisters and one brother.One son.One Mum 4 neices.6 nephews 5 great nephews. 3 great neices. Probably more but I loose count. I did love my Nan.Sunday lunch was always special with her. I can smell it cooking now. She used to sharpen the knife on the wall outside and it ended up so thin in the middle but it cut through the meat like butter.Happy happy days.We had a tin bath in front of the firewhich was filled with pots and pans and kettles of water. A loo at the bottom of the garden and Mum used to stand at the back door with a torch at night.No electricity but gas mantles. But we had everything we could ever wish for.For years no TV or phone or car but neither did anyone else so we didn't feel deprived.
Oh well . Did you watch South Riding last Sunday. It is on at 9pm tonight. Very good

Hi again Ruth, the baby was just a child of one of the fans who happened to be standing right next to me at the stage at encore time. Andre picked him/her up and started a little with the baby. It was so cute. I grabbed my camera and clicked away. I am very glad I did because very few got photos. I put the story and photos in my concert report. Lucky baby, huh!! Hugs

I went to my first concert last night with my mom, dad and grandma and had a wonderful time. I danced my first Blue Danube Waltz with my parents and later went on stage in your arms. You then tried to get me to sleep with a bedtime tune. I did sleep like a baby on my way home with a full smile of a great concert.

RUTH not sure of the area you live in, The Fairy Tale is a documentary about the making of Wonderland, its very funny, both my dvds are pal which is good for Australia, but it would have to be available in other formats as it was not made just for Australia, I bought The Wonderland as a compilation so we also have the cd,But In A Fairy Tale they show how Manoe is transformed into a witch, also Andre's lead foot in His car, He has admitted He enjoys driving fast I notice in a few doco's where He is being driven He does'nt always use His seat belt, He drove Bela's car & He really put His foot to the floor, for those of you who have read My Music My life can you just imagine Him & His Brothers with a What we call a billy cart but in the book it was called The Cart, what a precious family they must have been growing up, I bet they gave their Mum a few grey hairs, for those of you who don't have the book its rather precious there are some funny story's in it well worth buying, not too expensive if you buy the soft cover version , take care all;

handsome now! The music is lovely. It was interesting seeing all the interviews about his illness and I think
he has a wonderful, caring son in Pierre. After the concert, the same
interviews seemed to start again. Did I do something wrong?I love the photo of
the great man. I think I am going to

I hope you apologized to him for me not being able to attend your B Day party! You see, I went for a check-up today and the doctor announced me "Fit as a fiddle!"He was a little bit concerned about my heart that kept on skipping a beat. Well, after my explanation of the up-coming concert, he was put at ease and recommended a sedative! I kindly declined and asked him rather to prescribe a vitamin because I want to dance the night away and NEVER DIVERT MY EYES FROM OUR LOVELY MAN! I'm going to fit some matchsticks in my eyes to prevent them from even blinking! In connection to the wording on the poster: SA loves Andre sounds good, but I think DEIRDRE LOVES ANDRE sounds even better! OK,OK, I will write SA and share him with my fellow countrymen. On the other hand, I think there will be many posters with that wording on. What do you think of : "RIEU MAGIC!" Oh Deirdre I am so sorry - didn't you get the card I sent to you? I sent it the same day that the DVD's came and said I could not wait to see them. Gee I hate that you didn't get it. I was so happy to get them and started to view them. I will check the J. Lawson card site and see what happened. I had to email them last week when I could not get a card out to someone else due to a glitch in the address book. But in answer to your question my sweet friend I did get them and they are great! I think the song you inquired about which Andre played with the JSO member (name escapes me) is called "Miracle". Thank you again my dear friend. Your package is about ready to go except for one item which I may have to get online.
I am so excited for you - only 10 days to go! Even I am getting nervous. I am so anxious to see him again. Last June seems like ages ago. I just hope he gets to the United States this year. I talked with a man at PBS (Public Broadcasting Station) and he said he has no news of a concert at the moment but he said if he does come to Baltimore it would have to be in the Autumn. I am going to be thinking of you on concert day. I now have a clock on my desk top for Cape Town. I don't know how accurate that is according to where you live but I am sure it is close. I cannot wait to see the photos you take and I hope you will write a concert report for us - no pressure, only if you want to. Don't forget when the encores begin you are allowed and encouraged to go right up to the stage to take photos and remain there for the entire time until he leaves. He really likes when the fans do that. So when he begins the Radetsky March and the balloons fall just make your way fast to the front of the stage. You will be amazed how close you are to him. I cannot even explain the feeling. You feel like you are the only one there (unless you are being crowded). One place I went to the people were a little shy and did not know that Andre likes the fans to come forward and when I looked around I was the only person at the stage. I felt like he was playing just for me. Maybe you know all this sweetie because you were at a concert before but I forget where you were sitting. I just want you to have a beautiful time and I can hardly wait to hear all about it. Okay take care my dear friend and once again I am so sorry about the DVD package. I thought sure you got my card. Oh Jeanine Ann We all love you for your kindness thoughtfulness & caring ways, but I love someone a little more, He is such a beautiful person & I don't mean in looks, He does look good, But from His actions & words I believe He is even a nicer person within,no one can pass on to others all that Andre' does, without having a beautiful soul, this site alone is because of Him who needs a mind Dr.when we have Andre' & His music I read just recently that certain types of music release endorphens in our brains that is similar to eating chocolate or something else we enjoy & as you all know I have first hand knowledge of Andre's music & pain relief, plus this site has been a lifesaver for me also I share with you my worrys my joys you have all prayed & supported me when I needed you all the most, this is because of Andre', if I ever have the chance to thank Him in person I will, He is not God, but I can tell you all honestly that without both of them I would have lost the plot just recently, I spoke to My parish Priest & asked how do people manage who don't have a religious belief, regardless of who their God may be, for Me its what Catholics believe is The Body & Blood of Christ, The Blessed Sacrament, others may have something else, life is not always a bowl of cherrys eh Have a beautiful Rieully beautiful day; XXXX OOOO MIOW
