This morning André Rieu collected an award for ‘One Million Units Shipped in 2010’ from Decca Records.

The presentation took place at Classic FM, following an interview which will be broadcast on-air in March.

The award recognises Rieu’s phenomenal success with four releases in 2010: Moonlight Serenade, Forever Vienna, Live in Vienna and At Schoenbrun, Vienna. Rieu has dominated the classical charts continuously since early last year, with five albums currently in the top 10.

April sees Rieu’s long-awaited UK tour. Originally scheduled for September 2010, Rieu had to cancel due to a viral infection. Tickets for April are selling fast, but Classic FM has one pair of tickets up for grabs, which we’ll be giving away in a competition from next week.

Rieu will appear on Nick Ferrari’s hour-long programme The Classic FM Interview in March.
