Margaret Brent's First Andre Rieu Concert

What a lovely time I had at the concert in Birmingham on Friday at the LG!  My daughter gave me a couple of tickets as a Christmas present and I have had to wait til now. I am still climbing down but haven't yet reached earth yet so forgive me if I am woffling.

The show was magnificent in every way with beautiful music from the Platin Tenors and a wonderful rendition of "The Swan" by Tanya the Cellist.  I did tell her briefly at breakfast in the hotel the next morning how wonderful it was. We had a great time singing and Andre made us all so happy with his quips about "the Brummies".  I enjoyed the whole atmosphere. Unfortunately I could not get down to dance with the others as we were upstairs, but everyone was really enjoying the event, I am only sorry it all too soon had to end but I must say Andre was ready with his Orchestra to do his usual march through the auditorium to 76 trombones and cameras were flashing in all directions.

He also had a very short break about 9pm and after continued until easily 10.45 pm non stop. The encores were plenty and he was saying "go home"  and we were saying "No" and off he would go again with another encore too numerous to mention.  It really was a lovely concert AND MY VERY FIRST but it wont be the last if I win the lottery I shall go to everyone where possible.  Unfortunately I didn't get any good enough photos.  I should have done what someone else did and take the photos off the big screen.  I will know next time.

love and hugs to you all Margaret

Hello Fay, thank you for your comments on my report about my first Andra's concert.I do understand and know that Andre does a lot more than entertain, and that he is much more than an entertainer, he and the orchestra work very hard to make everyone happy, and they surely do. I wish Andre good luck for the Brit awards, he and his orchestr deserve to win, luv and hugs

Hi Margaret, the "first" of anything is always a special memory.Thank you for sharing with us your "first". I still remember my first Andre concert because I never ever thought I would get a chance to see him at all. And about the photos, I didn't take any because I was so wrapped up in watching everything on the stage.
