Starting this week Maastricht will be drinking from a new beer glass named a "Rieuke"

On the occasion of the concerts by Andre Rieu July 15.16, 17, 22, 23 and July 24 on the Vrijthof holds a special beer glass - by Andre Rieu is renamed a "Rieuke".

In the photo above Camille Oostwegel, Andre Rieu and Thijs Burn toast the success of 't Rieuke.

 

This glass is under an afternoon sun in the courtyard of the Museum at Vrijthof launched by André Rieu, Thijs Brand and Camille Oostwegel (Chair Foundation Museum at Vrijthof).

On one side bears the logo of the Fire Glass Brewery and the other the image of Andre Rieu in a nutshell.

The text "Andre Rieu at the Museum supports Vrijthof" makes the goal of this special sales campaign is clear: the proceeds of the sale is  100% to benefit the museum expansion and renovation of the Museum at Vrijthof.  If all glasses - 10,000 pieces - are sold, an amount of € 50,000 can be added to the construction and refurbishment budget.

 

Workmen who were working on the renovation looked just as surprised when suddenly a whole delegation, with center Andre Rieu, came to their field, but they were not to be distracted.

Even when some beers were tapped in the new Rieukes' they went for their work as usual.

 

The glass will be 5 euros each for purchase from The Beehive, Selexyz Dominicans, in the Brussels Gate and the former Palace Cinema in the Wyckerbrugstraat.

    However, I also believe Jeanine Ann will still want the glass & she will drink water or milk from it, instead of alcohol
