See renowned violinist live on the big screen



A CONCERT by renowned Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu will be screened live at Henley’s Regal Picture house.

The show, held in Maastricht, in the Netherlands, will take place at 4pm on July 24. Rieu will conduct his Johann Strauss Orchestra and will be accompanied by the Harlem Gospel Choir, the Soweto Gospel Choir and the St Petersburg trio.

Sir Anthony Hopkins will be special guest at the concerts and has composed a waltz entitled And The Waltz Will Go On.

André said: “It fills me with great joy to be able to share my favourite concert of the year, live from my hometown in Maastricht, with all of my friends in the UK.

“It is going to be a magical evening with some very special guests. Come and enjoy the music on the big screen in the comfort of your local cinema.”


Tickets cost £15 for adults, £13 for concession and £12 to Picture house members.

lA classic of Japanese animation will return to the big screen at the Regal Picturehouse for one night only.

The cinema, off Bell Street, Henley, will screen Akira, a ground-breaking cyberpunk anime that inspired many modern science-fiction films such as The Matrix, on July 26, at 8.30pm.

A portion of the profits from this screening will be donated to the Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund

    Have my tickets for the local cinema for Saturday and so looking forward to the concert, have my scarf which arrived today just in time for Saturday.We so can't wait to see Andre again and are hoping we can get to Maastricht for his open air concert next year! Heres hoping. lv Mags xx
