Vrijthof  Rieu's Concerts Have Begun

Maastricht - The Vrijthof concerts of Andre Rieu have started again. This time six concerts at the Vrijthof Maastricht. are almost all sold out.

The weather disrupted the dress rehearsal Thursday with rain, but Friday at the start of the concert the audience could not only enjoy the music and a setting sun, but temperatures were very pleasant in the square in Maastricht.

The weather forecasts for the next few days have slightly lower temperatures and more rain. If necessary the concerts will be diverted to the MECC in Maastricht, just like last year during the final of the World Cup.

    Got back last night after weekend in Maastricht.Jenni and I saw Andre's concert on Saturday night.Wonderful!So thrilled to be there at last.We4 went down to the stage for the finale - brilliant.Rather too much Gospel music for my taste but a fantastic show.
    We met up with Josephine and Darrell and saw many interesting places in Maastricht - walked to Andre's castle to take a photo there.We were very quiet, not wanting to disturb him if he was in tha garden.Weather was cool and some rain as well but did not put us off.Can't wait to see photos and videos on my daughter's laptop!

    We sat quite a way back and yes she was LOUD!!a voice to break glass!I can't believe I was really there - it seems like a dream now.videos are rather wobbly and photos are a bit disappointing.Josephine's are probably better.Am still on a "high".

      I don't know of any companies doing packages yet. Maybe there will be some when dates are announced. Where do you live please my friend?

      I don't know of any UK coach tour operators that do trips to Maastricht.I think there are some that go from other places in Europe to Maastricht.We went via Eurostar from St.Pancras which is quite easy.We just had to change trains in Brussels to get to Maastricht.We had to sort out our own hotel though, which is not hard to do online.Best of luck.Don't know when concert dates will be announced - usually 2nd and 3rd weekends in July.Good luck, Brenda.
