In front of  screaming sirens, chairman of the collaborating hotels Sahot in Maastricht and director of the NH-hotel, said that the concerts of André Rieu in Vrijthof will never be wished away. “It provides an enormous boost for the hotels during the month of July, which normally was not a  good month and because of the concerts it became a very good month.” For each of the six concerts, ten thousand visitors are now specially coming to Maastricht for a holiday. They not only book rooms, but many of the guests book an exclusive package that includes dinner and transport to Vrijthof.  Six extra buses per day are traveling to and fro, as well as extra taxis.

 

There is also another special: The well-known photographer,  Govert de Roos, who has been following André for months, has compiled a unique photo book: ‘André Rieu, de mens achter het fenomeen’.  People at the Vrijthof concerts were given the first opportunity to purchase the book.

 

The Chapeaux offers all of you one exclusive foretaste, a small selection from the numerous photos taken by de Roos of Rieu on his way from Maastricht to Mexico, from Amsterdam to America.

      The Chapeau is a Dutch/Limburg Magazine and is only sold in Holland. It is the same as the South African YOU/Sarie Magazine.An article appeared in the magazine on André because he is currently doing concerts in Maastricht.
