Andre Rieu In Maastricht, Still Fascinating

Six Days Rieu in Maastricht: a phenomenon that stays fascinating.
July 24, 2011
The last Rieu Evening for 2011 is about to start. A concert series where a lot of time was spent watching the weather. Today is no exception. The public on the Vrijthof square have not seen a single concert, or at least a part of a concert, without a slight drizzle. From four o’clock onwards a long, but not wide, rain front stretched from the northwest to the southeast over the Netherlands. If only the weather could hold from one until eight in Maastricht. Overall André Rieu and his organisation can feel satisfied about the weather conditions. His fanatic audience can surely also benefit if the weather stays pleasant for the open air concert.
The concerts were phenomenal. For six days Maastricht was filled with breathtaking adoration for this guru. The worship is fascinating. Not a single concert deviated from another. Improvisation is not a theme for the perfectionistic André Rieu. The choice of music provided the audience with an unforgettable evening. His three tenors and trio sopranos once again made a huge impression on Rieu’s fans. Irrespective of what the critics of Rieu think, say or write-the public enjoys his choice of music and that is all that counts. Those who think differently should rather stay home. The most fascinating aspect of all is that this is not only applicable in Maastricht, but also in the rest of Europe and all over the world. For André Rieu and his fans, The Last Waltz is not over yet for a very long time.
Our thanks to Deirdre for translating this story!

DEIRDRE, thank you for translating this though I must say nothing is a surprise, Andre'gives us His all, perfectionist is a good description of Himself & yet He makes it all seem so natural & easy, we know He gets nervous, but this too is important to Him, for once the show starts He explodes, a bit like a watch spring, but sooooooo Good, personally I can never get enough of what Andre' & His people give us, I am continually thanking God for this Man & His music;
