My husband Dolf and I will be married 41 years the end of the month. I am lucky because he is a wonderful person. We started dating when I was 16 and he 17 and eversince together.
Deirdre - We were also At the Super Bowl and then Cape Town, but both the 2nd concerts. We live in the Free State and you know our roads and no Air port.
Next year in August at the Coca cola dome we will be at the 1st concert. I hope to see you there. (Vertel my asb. van julle besoek aan Maastricht volgende jaar, ek sal nogal daarvan hou om ook te gaan)

We share our lives with one another and feel we know each other as friends. It puts a brightspark into each day. We are all starved of news of Himself after a month away we sort of feel lost somehow. Please dear friends - pray for Deirdre and her kitty LuLu. Someone poisoned the kitty last night and it is touch and go. She survived the night but is not eating or drinking. She has an IV drip in and if she is not better until tomorrow the vet will tube feed her. Please pray hard for this sweet little cat. I am just sick about about it and you can imagine how Deirdre feels. Thank you so very much. Love and hugs, Jeanine Ann

Tell Deirdre I am praying for LuLu's recovery, and a speedy arrest for that person she and I discussed would have had a 'hand' in doing this. Deirdre my friend I pray for your strength during this unthinkable set of circumstances. That 'miserable so-and-so', may he ROT in HELL!!!! Stay Strong.
Please forgive my "strong" wording to that horrible being who did this to a poor, loving family pet. I just guess this got the better of me, I am not a nasty person, except when I hear stories like this one - NO REASON for this.

Hi Judith, I agree with your feelings about this horrible thing. It is the most cruel thing I have ever heard of. I get so sick when I hear or read about animal cruelty. They are so sweet and innocent just like children and there is no excuse for this. I hope there is justice for this act. Hugs

Hi my FRIENDS,
Thank you so much for all your prayers. My sweet little Lulu is hanging in there. She stopped breathing last night when we got to the vet, but he managed to bring her back by administering mouth-to-mouth. She is still a very sick little kitty but I believe that she will get well. Thank you all, you are such a great bunch of people! Love you all xx
Just returned from Maastricht screening at local Odeon.Concert was brilliant of course but there were only 8 (EIGHT) of us in there!!!!
Why don't Cinemalive advertise properly?
So disappointing not to see more people there.

Hi Brenda. That's such a shame. There has been no advertising at all. I received an Official Andre Newsletter only yesterday. Bit late
However I don't want to sound like an old sourpuss but I went to see last years Concert at the Cinema and thought it was a bit of a let down. There was absolutely no atmosphere in the half empty cinema at all.Everyone sat there like stuffed dummies. I would rather buy the DVD and sit at home and watch where I can laugh and cry and scream and shout as much as I like.
Maastricht live is still THE BEST

Dear Brenda, I agree Its the same in Adelaide Sth Aust, there were about 80 in the theatre here. Its scandalous. I asked why there is no promotion but the cinema didny know. I know of people who would have gone if they had known. Its crazy, Andre surely would not be pleased, he must get feedback. Its Fathers Day in Aust tomorrow so happy day to all dads. Deirdre, I hope that Lulu is doing better. My thoughts and prayers are with you and her at this time. It's a horrible thing to do to an innocent kitty...I just don't understand why people do the things they do sometimes. They have so much learning and growing to do...like, learning to love instead of hate, and growing spiritually and being compassionate and respectful of life.
Give Lulu a kiss for me and tell her she has a lot of prayers coming her way!

Dear Judith I agree with your words to poison any animal is beneath humanity, & when it comes to cats I just cannot believe someone would do this, by law in Oz dogs are trainable animals, cats are not therefore they are allowed to wander freely, I don't let my Jasper go too far, He will be 9years old on the 11th. He goes out early to nibble a bit of grass, before breakfast then is in all day only going out to roll on the concrete in the sun for a short while, a person stole him for 9hours once, he came home all filthy & his nails were worn almost to the quick, his little pink pads were like sand paper, I blamed a workman who came to replace my shower, he went to kick Jasper & called him a FFFFF cat , I said nothing but after jazz was missing I blamed him, thank God he found his way home, I thought about it for days & was going to report him , but I had a phone call asking was I satisfied with his service so I passed on my feelings but said I could prove nothing, the caller said no need he had so many complaints about this persons & he had only worked for 2 weeks, one lady spoke about him kicking her cat; anyway the long & short of all this is since then Jasper is very wary of strangers & stays out no more than 20 minutes & only eats what we give him chicken breast fillets he won't eat cat food, because he does'nt think he's a cat, likes prawns to but not fish, mind you he's not spoilt; DEIRDRE' how are you & Lulu we are caring about you let us know when you can, Lulu is your priority at the moment; MIOW MIOW from Jasper
I hope Lulu is much better by the time you read this Deirdre. Cats can be quite resilient thank heavens. You must be exhausted. We're all thinking of you and wishing Lulu well.

Deirdre - I hope and pray that little Lulu will be fine. People like that is the pits. 3 years ago I nurse my little Jack Russell for 3 months back to health after he was poisened by some bad people but sadly he passed away 1 year ago (old age) Not nice to go through. (they are part of the family) Now still got 3 cats. Love them all.

Hi all. I have just checked on line at my local cinema and for tomorrow's Andre Concert there are only 15 seats booked. It is a terrible shame. It's not my cup of tea but for anyone who enjoys the cinema who can't get to a live concert it's a great way to experience a Maastricht Concert and see His Gorgeousness in action. Obviously if they are not well attended the Cinema's won't show them again.
I don't know who is at fault for lack of advertising.Great shame

Hi Josephine, this is a sad state of affairs with the promoting, booking, advertising, you name it. In my area here in the States, I searched HI and LOW and found three locations that could be considered if I were able to contact Donald Trump and beseech him the use of his Private Jet. All three Concert cinemas were basically ALL a stones throw from the New York City area. I have been petitioning several Cinema in our western New York area, to get a fire lit under face book, advertise in all our Penny Savers who always advertise for all the other venues. Sadly to say, in the two years that I have been on my 'soap box', I was notified last week by one cinema that a fan had dropped me an email telling me that Andre was coming to a local cinema very soon. BIG DEAL........
the dang email was delivered to me from me. I know for a fact that there are hundreds of fans in the Southern Tier of NYS that go and are fans of Andre's.
But, yes BUT, I am unable to raise not a single soul. So it looks like I am President, VP, Treasurer, Bookkeeper, Advertising Committee, etc. in my area and I can't get to a cinema. Huh????????

In Colchester, there were 8 of us! There was no publicity at all in the press that I saw, even Andre's wesbsite newsletter did not announce it until about 48 hrs before the showing!
As you say the Odeon will think twice about putting the concerts on!
However it was like a private showing, and a brilliant 3 hours and more.... and also we did get to glimpse ourselves 'on the big screen' which was good, I managed to see some of the BVN TV transmission and that has different camera shots and we are 'cut out' !

Thank you my sweet friends for all your prayers, messages, e-cards, emails ... My sweet Lulu is getting stronger by the day! The poison affected her muscles and she gets very tired. She is starting to eat and is taking small sips of water. The vet said that she would be her old self again in another two week's time. The vet did an excellent job and Lulu is a real little fighter. Thank you for each prayer, may God bless you all!

That is a bit of great news Deirdre' I have been having a few conversations with a Lady I know She always listens, do you know the s'''' who did the foul deed, I know not everyone loves cats but there is no need to poison, that is for cowards; Josephine, it is really sad that people don't know Andre' is in the cinemas, last year they were full, I think because a lot of our local papers got behind the event & advertised, this year if I had'nt an email from Andre's web site I would'nt have known, even some of the cinemas did'nt know He was to be on, I rang a few to enquire the price & was promtly told He is not on here, & yes He was, someone has goofed from the publicity dept. there must be someway we can spread The Word on Andre' in the cinemas, because He scrubs up so well on the big screen, & planning has gone into this idea, so many people are missing a great experience, & it is so much more affordable than the concerts live, almost as good too;I wonder is Fathers Day the same date around the world, we have a few fathers here so I would like to wish you all a very Happy Father's Day, I think I know one person who will celebrate not only being a Father But a Grandfather as well, I think all would be walking by this time, oh what a lovely time will have been had ,lucky babes to have such a Grandfather;

Ahhh My dear friends. At last. A little bit of news on Andre's web site. I feel a little happier now. I'm singin in the rain. He is recording a new CD called The Waltz goes on and also a Wonderful Christmas concert. For anyone who hasn't looked please do. There are lots of lovely pictures and you have just got to see the lovely playful Manoe wearing Reindeer ear muffs!!So cute. Andre says it was the hottest summer day this year and they are recording in the 'snow' wearing winter outfits.30 in the shade. The things they do for us eh ?
Well my friends. My sweet Oliver goes home today as he starts back at school next week. I shall miss him making fun remarks to me about 'MY ANDRE' He is a little gem
I shall be missing from the blog from Monday till Wednesday as I am going to stay with an 'old' schoolfriend. Old in that I have been friends with her for 50yrs!!! I wish to say a Huge Thankyou to our sweet friend Deirdre. She so kindly sent me a beautiful Andre bumper sticker. I haven't adorned my car with it yet as Oliver has had the use of my garage for his Spitfire project so my car has been left outside and is much too dirty for Andre. I will have to give it an extra special clean before I can let an extra special person near it. Wouldn't dream of letting Andre smile out through dirty windows. Maybe steamy windows !! oooops

Oh Dear Thank you for posting news about our Beautiful Man, talk about withdrawal symptoms, & only Andre' would think to create winter in the middle of a heat wave, does'nt Their Castle look beautiful, hopefully this will come out on dvd, now we know although Andre' was on holiday His brain was not, He must have spent over time in the bathroom,[in an interview Andre' stated He does much of His thinking in the bathroom]ha ha lucky bathroom; DEIRDRE' love & sandpaper kisses to Lulu,from Jasper, hope she is still improving, I won't say the same about the person responsible for doing such a vile thing, last year a friend sent me a calendar put out by The Cat protection people, there is a cat for everyday of the year, they also asked for photos sent in, so a young friend was here & took Jasper's photo, she has 3 cats so she sent her children & mine in she has just had notification that they are all on the calendar, I think this is lovely, especially for cat lover, I wonder Do the canine people do similar, & as we are speaking about Calendars I wonder when Andre's new one will be available, i think I got mine about October last year, until then I will just enjoy my book each day,Have a great Andre' day all. Oh Judith I wish you lived near us I would gladly pick you up, you know buses if they thought about it, could purchase tickets & charge a bit more to cover the bus fare, but there was no publicity here it seems the same elsewhere, & that is so so SAD, for there are so many who if they knew about it would go if they could, the tickets Here were $40.00, the same as last year which is more than can be said for most other things all prices have gone up for just about everything; & I will repeat it again its a great show & comes through so good on the big screen, Andre' is so big & Beautiful, the cast are great also, plus the artists I will say no more as I would hate to spoil it for anyone; I am once again off to bed with my 2 best men, ha ha, one is on dvd the other Sir Jasper trys to take all my double bed for himself, so goodnight & God Bless;

So far CinemaLive is a total bust in the US. For such smart people, the Rieu Organization really dropped the ball on this one. If they want people to go they have to advertise it. His fans who follow the sites know, but no one else does. Not only Cinema - a concert in Maine was not advertised and poorly attended. The answer: the Rieu organization didn't give them money to advertise. Hopefully they will learn from this experience, although Manchester, NH concert has many seats available and haven't seen any advertising. Too bad, Andre says they haven't made it yet in the States. If he told people they were coming they would make it. It would be money well spent. If they can afford to build a bunch of palaces, they can afford to advertise and witha much better return I am sure.
You are right Virginia. I never see any advertisements for Andre here in America. You know they sent this questionnaire out to everyone here in the States and I for one told them what Andre should do. Come to America and go to the big malls and let people know who he is. I know it is a big country but just pick some huge places like King Of Prussia near Philadelphia, Mall of The Americas in the mid west and whatever is in the south and west coast. That is what he needs to do and get some radio and TV spots. It would be well worth the money he would spend. Just my humble opinion. Hugs

I can't speak for all in the UK, as said before if I had not seen on the blog would not have known about the cinema viewings or where they were. To say how many TV adverts we have here you would think there would be more publicity. We do sometimes get ads when a DVD is released, the last one was Moonlight Serenade earlier this year although it was released for Christmas last year as my daughter bought it for the Forever Vienna DVD she went to Andre's site. More TV spots I think would be great all over. On a lighter note Winston is walking around with his legs crossed!!!! we have had rain since late afternoon, and he does not like getting his fur wet, he just stands on the door step or puts half his body out and backs back in the house. I've done very little hiking & geo caching the past 3 weeks because it has been too hot. The coolest part of the day has been 89º; as soon as the sun comes up it is 100º & by 1300 it is 110º +.

The concert was BEEEEEAAAUTIFUL! I was so proud to be South African when Kimmy sang the Vilja Lied and received a standing ovation! Various instruments, at a time, played Sir A. Hopkins' Waltz and the whole ensemble was just BEAUTIFUL. The part where André played alone was thrilling and the best by far! Anthony's wife burst out in tears and blew kisses to André like crazy!! I even saw Marc Rieu in the audience!!Cool! WONDERFUL CONCERT, CANNOT WAIT FOR THE DVD!!
This was yet another Rieu Magic evening!
Oh BILL, after tonight I will climb Mount Everest for André, barefoot in the heat!! Ha-ha !!
Oh sweetie Deirdre I am soo happy for you. It must have been wonderful. I hope the cinema will be showing the concert in Florida when we are there in a few weeks but that is a long shot. May need to wait for the DVD but I think the wait will be well worth it.

Has some gremlin been in the works I had a bit to say this morning but when I submitted It went OOPS & I could'nt get back in & I note there are no posts??????? I agree with Deirdre, Maastricht 2011 was out of this world! We were lucky to watch last night on TV - the Netherlands channel for Africa- and again this morning. Guess what? I watched again! Never miss a chance to watch Andre. The Anthony Hopkins waltz is beautiful, he must be very proud! But everything was beautiful! I dont think it was the whole concert because I didnt see the Platin Tenors, but still worth to watch! Anything about Andre is a BONUS!

Deirdre the concert you had on tv was it this years concert from Maastricht????, the tenors did sing on the one at the movies, also The St Petersburg trio were on, plus Gospel singers from South Africa & America, Andre' at one part did boomps a daisy or thats what I call it, you were lucky to get that on tv, we get Andre's dvds on studio from foxtel, they are all ones that I already have, but I have 6 on the IQ box I usually play one when I am on the computer or if I go down to the shops I put one on & Jasper sits & watches till I get back, How Is LULU it will be slow going for her for a while; I watched Mirusia's dvd last night again I just love the music & her voice, there is a nice photo of her under the disc, last night I took the book out to read & found Andre' underneath, its actually one of both of them, but I had missed Andre' & its a lovely one, I wonder has there ever been a bad photograph of Andre'& do you have your book yet?????

Hi my friends, just a note to tell you that we all got through tropical storm Lee. We had 14 inches of rain since it started seems like a long time ago. I has just poured day and night. Cannot get to Hershey because it is flooded and the river towns I am sure will flood once the susquehanna river crests on Saturday way above flood level. One flood stage is 49 and will crest at 62.7 this is in Marietta. The Harrisburg is flood stage is 19 and will crest at 29. So you can see we are in trouble around here. Luckily our home is higher but it is all the roads around us. So there are a lot of roads around us which are flooded. Two people died in our area as a result of the floods. More later. Hugs

There are people along the river far worse off than us. Have you all seen Andre's documentary "A Dream Come True"? It was on Ovation Channel this morning. I don't know how I haven't seen it before, but it is so enjoyable. Lots of great old film clips from when Andre was a child and also behind the scenes looks at the life of the JSO.

Thank you so much Mary and Margaret for your concern. We are fine but I worry about the people who are around the river or even the creeks. We have had 6 deaths around our area. We drove through Manheim today and on Main Street the water line was visible and I am thinking 4 feet. Everyone was completely flooded in that area and you could see the furniture and other items laying on the front porches as they were mopping their floors from all the water and mud. I felt so sorry for them because they are the poorer people in the area and cannot afford this type of flooding. Auto garages were completely flooded out and all their equipment was out in front of their businesses because everything must be cleaned and I don't know if things are operational or not. Car lots had to move their cars if they had time. This was the first day we could get through that road. Hugs

Jeanine Ann & Clyde, you both have been in my prayers and thoughts from the beginning of this terrible weather night mare. Flooding, fires, hurricanes, the recent earthquake in Vancouver, BC a small quake in the Netherlands the other day, something they have not experienced in a very long time. Is this the sign?? However, our area has issues with very bad electrical out dated equipment, so we have been off more than on, all my clocks are constantly blinking with the disturbance of power. I have been in Syracuse on Tuesday, Rochester on Thursday, my own medical issues today, so I have not been really able to properly address emails, therefore please everyone I apologize for not getting back to you in a timely fashion. Today and tomorrow I am volunteering with my Uncles VFW working with Flags, 9-11 Commemorative Pins with the upcoming 10th Anniversary of that terrible/horrible day in our American History. Being an American & born on a Special day I feel I should give back to my Country in showing respect to all those who lost so much. We had many first responders from our area to have boots at Ground Zero. As all my uncles have passed on, I pick up and follow in their spirits to do what I can. Please friends and fans may we all reflect on Sunday 11, 2011 a moment of silence for all the first responders and their families for all that they sacrificed on that morbid day that shattered many a life, a family a Country, BUT United We Stand!

I don't know what Sylvia's theory is on them but may I tell you mine
When I see a White Feather I believe it is from and Angels wing and has floated down from Heaven. I believe the Angel it came from is a loved one letting me know they are thinking of me.
I always keep special feathers, in my bedroom in a box with an Angel on the lid. In that box I also keep Angel Cards which are small cards each with a single word on. Each day I choose a card at random and try to live my day by that word.
Today's word is HONESTY

When I see a white feather (it has to be in a place you would not normally
see them) I feel my late mother is still
with me. She died June 1998 and I still miss her every day. Just been this morning to the dentist. I have had pain for some months now. It turned out to be an abscess on a tooth.
The tooth was extracted and the space where it was aches. Because I am going
on holiday shortly I just had to go even though I am terrified of dentists.
I have to see him again on Tuesday for
something else. When I think of people
like you who have had root canal, I realise I am just a plain coward.

DesMoines for live concert. Am wondering
how many fans know about the photographer special. Probably not many.
On top of that the Northeast is flooding at record levels and Texas/Oklahoma is burning up literally
plus setting alltime heat records. Illinois has been spared somewhat though we may have broken some heat records but aren't having wildfires.
Andre has a couple of concerts in Texas
in October and weather people are predicting worsening heat/drought/wildfires as LA NINA kicks
in. Makes our Andre cinema woes seem less significant.
Dear sweet FRIENDS,
I have a white feather, hanging from the light fitting in my room. Oh José I too believe that it came from an Angel's wing! When we think back of that horrid day ten years ago, I feel ashamed that we get 'hurt' about petty things in life!! Many families lost loved ones. I saw the footage of that lonely figure that 'jumped' out of the burning building and my heart cries out to the mother/wife who also watched this on television! We must stop being childish about little things and tolerate one another, we never know when we will need a shoulder to cry on. It is my wish that all André friends and fans from all over the world love and tolerate one another. Life is too full of tragedies, and life is way too short for jealousy and hatred. I ask all André fans to join hands in prayer for those families in the USA.

Ruth I was referring to the documentary "A Dream Come True". I saw it for the first time a few days ago and just loved every minute of it. See if you can get hold of a copy. It had lots of old family movie clips. Was made quite a long time ago now, ?10 years or more.
Hi Jill, I have this lovely DVD and also the book. Last Christmas my sister asked if I would like anything in particular I asked for My Music, My Life, but she forgot the title and got me the book A dream Come True, so I got the DVD. all you lovely people, that white feather takes me back to days spent with my Nan, if ever I found a big white feather, she also told me it came from an angels wings & that they were letting me know I was loved, she had a lot of stories about angels, & as my Mother died when I was 4 she too said she was sending me a message to say she was watching over me, this nan was my stepmothers mother she was a beautiful Lady, & I spent all my school holidays with her & grandad,she loved music I think of her a lot when I am watching or listning to Andre' she would have loved Him so much;we remember this date in our parish, as a lady who belonged here was killed in the building, each year her name is up to be remembered during Mass, such a sad day, but it seems to me from that tragedy comes a lot of strength & friendship; Jeanine Ann how are you faring weather wise, we have only heard of the fires in Texas, but nothing about floods, & we only hear little bits, do hope all is well with you & Clyde & your Furrie Friends, take care & know we are thinking of you;
Hi Fay, weather wise we are fine. We drove through the town of Manheim and piles of furniture are on porches dozens of home are being cleaned out and also businesses. That is just our area. Hershep park was just flooded and I don't know what rides were damaged. We will find out tomorrow when we go to church if we can get through there. Love to you and Nelly and sweet Jasper.
Ruth I think Andre' relates so well with children because He is not false in what He shares with all of us, in an interview He did He said it was important to keep in contact with that inner child, I personally can find that child in many of His dvds, & sometimes He has such a child like mischievious way with all His looks, & I just love that photograph of Him with the bird & nest on His head, oh dear I bet He gave His Mum lots of laughs, I admire how He is true to Maastricht, He was born there He works from there & I imagine He will stay there for the rest of His life, He does so much for that city, lets face it who else could have a Christmas concert with snow & all the works in the middle of a heatwave, He is indeed a unique PERSON;Sally sent us 2 discs ages ago,I was a 4part documentary done for pbs, they are so precious as Andre'shows us His castle a large work in progress as its so old & needs lots of maintance, He also cooks I wonder could one replace endives with wombok as we don't see endives in our shops in Australia, certainly not in the western suburbs, I think I will have a go. have a lovely Andre' day everyone;

No, Andre is very much still in third place. You have to look at the standings not just at the votes for the day or the week. There is no way we can move him up unless we can convince about 16,000 people to vote.

Over the weekend I watched André Rieu, Live in Trier. Carmen Monarcha sang The Vilja Lied just beautifully. I just loved to listen to Suzan Erens singing Memory. Carla, Carmen and Suzan were an excellent trio and together with the Platin Tenors they brought tears to my eyes with HALLELUJAH! I had a magical Rieu weekend and cannot wait for the new CD/DVD ( Wiener Festwalze and And The Waltz Goes On) as well as the new Christmas DVD to be released!

Deirdre' you have'nt mentioned your photo book are you enjoying it, & can you get to a cinema to see Andre's concert in Maastricht, you won't be dissapointed; JILL, there is also a dvd, A Dream Come True, I could only get it in a pkt. of 5 it no longer is available as a single, well worth buying though, the title is "Be My Love", included are,Songs from My Heart, Romantic Paradise, Love around The World,Love Songs, & A Dream Come true,not a flop among them Ha Ha, Andre'does'nt make flops anyhow they are all good, hope your John is doing OK, no dates up yet for Andre's next concert here, I look at the dates & try to work our where He will fit us In or If??? for next year, will it be May or later or maybe not at all????, maybe one morning I will log on & see Australia up there; Josephine I gave up voting because its not fair, how can dead people get a man of the year award???? Wasn't "A Dream Come True" part of a DVD in Australia called "Andre Rieu On Holiday? I could be wrong about this and would need to check my DVD's because I do have that one. Thank you Jeanine Ann for replying to my query during the middle of our Night in Australia. You girls put so much of your time into helping us fans. You are a dream come true yourselves. I will go to the site in the morning and order a DVD. Thank you so very very much xxx I became a fan of Andre during 2006 when I was listening to a middle of the night radio programme. There was this Brisbane lady raving about Andre's music to the all night programme radio announcer.Not long after Ian Maurice became a huge fan himself promoting Andre' music whenever possible. He is still friendly with Andre and Co. I was recovering from color-rectal cancer the music helped me relax, it still does to this day. In June June 2006 I happened across the Ovation channel on TV and there was Andre and the JSO. I had just come off a flight from a week in Sydney with my daughter and my prem twin grandbabies. I was so tired and when I found this programme I stayed bewitched until the end. I was hooked. Another one of us. I met Andre and Mirisua up in Brisbane when he was out promoting his first of the Castle tours to Australia. Brisbane is an hour away by train from Gold Coast. I went back to Sydney to his first big show the one with the electrical storm just before the JSO were due to begin. My son and grandson went to the last of his shows up in Brisbane at Suncorp. We are all in love with his music. The promotional day in Brisbane 2008 there were thousands of fans waiting for DVD/CD signatures on their recordings. I had my hand in a red plaster cast,when I spoke Andre looked my in the eye and a quick conversation followed. They were all lovely and friendly people. We had security guards making sure we had just the 2 recordings to be signed and then onto the next fan. Well thats my story for now. Its 7 years since my cancer journey commenced and now I am very well. One of the lucky ones I'd say, not a very good experience etc with so many procedures each year, but I have a 3 year break from tests now..I had been a Carer to my husband with Advanced Parkinson's Disease for many many years. He passed away 11 months ago now, and Andre's music has kept me sane. We were 5 months short of being married 50 years. Hugs and heaps of love to you and Prudence, I look for you every day and night. I also love reading, have a great family nearby, with 4 grandies in Oz and 2 grandsons in NZ. Take care love Karen Barry

I had a kidney removed due to cancer in 2004, it is such a dreadful disease, I was told at the time if it did not recur in 5 years I should be OK, now in 2011 I'm still here. I too lost my partner in 2009 after caring for him for 2 years. In early 2010 I was going through the channels to see what was on TV....this gorgeous man with a violin...I was hooked and still am along with all the friends I have made on the blog. He brighens my days, I often wonder why? when we seem to be lost something happens. In my case it was Andre, I think I speak for many of us that Andre touches our hearts with his music and brightens our lives!!!. not going to ramble any more. Hugs and Luv Ruth P

Andre' on Holiday is of 2dvds new Years Eve in Hamburg with Russell Watson & Bond, the other one is a beautiful Christmas dvd made in a big barn, its a beautiful Christmas dvd so many Christmas trees, candles, animals & children, the copy I have Andre' speaks in english, made in the 90s i think, well worth chasing up, I find it hard to say which is my favorite as I love each one , though I think Maastricht 3 mainly because of the wind instruments & the logistics in getting all together, even Andre' says when he advertised He thought maybe 50 or 60 but he ended up with 300 its so amazing what was achieved, but nothing surprises me with Himself anymore, if He can create a white Christmas in the middle of a heatwave, I think He can do anything but part the waters, & perhaps with todays technology & film he could even have a go at that;; DEIRDRE' you have your Photo book is it great or what? Govert De Roos has a great gift I love His way of photographing Andre' 1or2 natural photos yes, what I like is the unposed way He has photographed our Beautiful Man, the Celebration book I thought was good but this one is a Treasure, well the content is anyhow;

I am lucky because a friend of mine from the Netherlands gave met A dream come true. Here in South Africa we dont get all Andre's music - specially the earlier ones. We will be in Cape Town on 14 October so we can go to the cinema to watch Maastricht 2011. I live in the Free State in a lovely village surrounded by mountains - no big cities nearby, so miss out on a lot of things but gain a lot also. (Andre is very popular here). It is good to follow all the news about Andre on internet. Cant wait for all the new Dvd's and Cd's. Wishing you all an awesome day and some beautiful music from Andre!

Hi everyone I have a prayer request, my sister Audrey was just diagnosed with breat cancer today. She had a biopsy last week and just got the results today. Please keep her in your prayers. I would appreciate it so very much. Things like this just shake up your entire world Her prognosis is very good since they caught it early. Thanks so much everyone.
Another item, Clyde and I are taking our annual trip to Florida on Sunday for our medical tests. This was all planned before we knew about my sister of course and the Doctor is very busy and we just able to get an appointment at this time. Nothing will change as far as the blog is concerned as I will have my computer with me. So please keep the comments coming and I will keep putting them on. Thanks everyone.

Jeanine Ann I sincerely hope all goes well for you Sister, here in Australia the saint most people pray to for cancer is Saint Peregrene, for myself though I love to have a quiet time with The Blessed Sacrament, I always find peace there,the reason I changed my religion was so I could legally receive, I have had this belief since I was 12, sometimes I had the need to receive, until a friend said fay did'nt know you were a Catholic, so I told her the truth , she was so kind she put me on the right path to becoming one, this Great Gift that was given to us is always there for comfort & strength; how is Camillia doing, hope all is well & have a safe trip; DEIRDRE'how is Lulu has she recovered ok, I took Jasper for His yearly trip to the vet, always the same one I was telling him about Jasper's taste in music, he told me if ever he has a really ill animal in for a stay he always puts on some quite music, they seem to find it relaxing, he told me he likes a bit of Andre' himself, you will enjoy Himself on the big screen, He is so big & Beautifull, & wait till you see Mirusia WOW, have a lovely Andre' day all;

Jeanine Ann I'm so sorry to hear Audrey's test results were not the ones she was hoping for. I'm sorry she has to go though this battle, but the treatments work so well these days. We'll keep her in our prayers too.

As a survivor of breast cancer myself I think I understand how you must all be feeling. I was diagnosed at the age of 44 and here I am 20 years on fit and healthy and full of life. I have also survived bladder cancer and malignant melanoma so I believe someone very special has been watching over me.
I am sure the power of prayer and definitely positive thinking goes a long way to aiding recovery.
She is bound to have down days but I do hope she is an Andre fan and his beautiful music will bring her comfort and joy. I wish I had been all those years back. Please give her a big hug from me
On a lighter note I am off on a 60 mile trip down the motorway with Andre on board. laladeda

Hello Jeanine Ann, I was so sorry to hear about your sister and will say a prayer and light a candle for her on Sunday morning.
I had an accident in my car this morning - I was making a right turn and indicating, but a car behind me tried to overtake me and smashed into the door on my side .I have a cut on the head and bruised arm but it could have been worse.Luckily I was going to have coffee with my church friends in our church hall - they were all very helpful.One friend cancelled my dentist appt. another rang the breakdown people, another (nurse)tended to my wound.Feeling a bit shaken up still.When I finally got home, guess WHO was there waiting? Andre's DVD of "A Dream come true".That will make me feel much better!!!

Greetings you from sunny Transylvania! This is a first for a long long time: middle of September passed and still sunny and 25 degrees (Celsius, and at noon). Autumn as it used to be when I was sooo young! I wonder, does this mean that I'm young again, or is it just an illusion?! Ha!
I just made a cake to celebrate autumn (and some friends are coming over) and I managed to ruin it, the cream is too runny, but hey!
And, oh, I know, I wasn't listening to Andre's music when I made it, was listening to the news. So that explains it.

Dear Jeanine Anne I join with all our other friends in wishing your sister all the very best for her recovery. Its a traumatic time for you all. I ordered the new Andre photo book after finally getting bank authorization with the help of my grand daughter !! My daught and her husband are in Niagara Falls now and go to New York tomorrow. This had to be postponed because of the hurricane. they will be home in 4 weeks after being away for 2 months which will be nice. Love and prayers to anyone who needs them. Steve Yesterday I was browing in JB Hi-Fi Robina. My nearest large shopping Centre. Yes I found one I didn't havem so now its mine. Its called "The Magic of ANDRE Rieu. I noticed one also not seen before on the shelves - could be the one you asked about - Wiener Fest Walzer. I read what I thought I already had under another name. I will now go back for more info and check for you. Maybe by Wednesday I will be able to answer your query. Will take my small notebook with me. I have found over the years some CD's DVD's are reproduced under a new name, have to be careful before purchasing.!! also what language the individual numbers are written up in. Makes the decision a little harder.

Deirdre sorry you had to attend workshops, you must be a youngie as my daughter works most week-ends as an extra to her Career position Yes I will be keeping with the rest of you loonies or groupies as some of have been. Can't imagine my life without AR and his JSO group, they are all our friends, their music relaxes us and keeps the sanity, the reason for helping us through the next day. I watched Mirusia this week-end on Ovation, she lives up the freeway highway from me, South East Queensland. Her voice brings tears to my eyes = remembering the old Sister that taught us singing the Mass numbers. She was short, a terror and we were all scared of singing a wrong note as she approaqched us with the ruler. WE WERE MAINLY ALL TALLER THAN HER. Talk again its time for sleep. EVE, do you actually live in Transylvania, home of the vampires or was that just a place name made up for movies, I always though there was no such place, Here In Australia its rather hot although its only spring, my Dad used to say, "to sit down quick on a red hot brick was the sign of an early spring" its strange how those quirky things stay in ones mind; Nelly & I had lamb chops for lunch & Jasper will sometimes eat a bit of lamb especially if its left on the bone & as they were forequarter chops a big bone so I left meat on & offered it, He had a nibble & walked away so I wrapped it up in paper & put the bones in a little garbage near my chair, he has just gone back pulled out the paper & had a lovely time with the long bone & is now sitting on his pillow next to the computer having a bath, talk about a cats life, he's not spoilt though, ha ha, DEIRDRE" sorry you had to work weekends that's not fair, when you are teaching you need time out just for you, think of the hours you are missing out on listning to our lovely Man, where would this world be without the JOY & HAPPINESS He shares, I am rereading " My Music My Life" there are some very funny moments in it especially where He was serving & useing the senser, I can really visualise that, it makes me laugh every time;XXX OOOO MIOW

Yes, I live in Transylvania, land of vampires. Only 1 hour's drive westward from my hometown and I'm already in the misty mountains and thick forests where Dracula used to keep young girls captive (only young and beautiful, so I'm safe!) and sucked their blood. So the legend goes.
Drive 200 km east and you'll be in the most romantic places, small medieval towns at the bottom of the Carpathian
mountains, mist and fog.
But it is a beautiful country which inspired lots of writers.
I wonder, could it be that it will inspire a certain violinist to come here and perform his wonderful music to an audience which, obviously , doesn't know him? Cos once they see him and listen to him playing his Stradivarius, they will never let him go!
I hope I live long enough to see that happening, so far we only had him on the big screen in the cinemas in a number of cities, including the capital.

That date rang a bell with me 19th November - a wake up call in fact. I won't be going to see a violin in USA much as I would love to. I am cruising on The Pacific Dawn for 2 weeks from Brisbane and around NZ with my girlfriend. We are scattering some of my husband's Ashes in The Milford Sound at the lower South West end of South Island NZ. After that I am catching up with my long time school friends in each Port we call in. I am getting excited now. John loved Milford Sound he had a boat which we took on most of the Central Otago/Southland Lakes. To reach Milford we drove from Invercargill where we lived right to the Coast of Fiordland National Park. A very isolated area of NZ. Sorry I will be leaving Andre and JSO back home in Australia for 2 weeks. Thanks for the reminder Deirdre hugs to Jeanine Ann

hi everyone. Just wanted to say thanks to you all again for all love and support. I got my surgery date which is Oct 3rd. Surgeon is very positive. Just a long road ahead but all will be fine. Of course they were just part of a legend.
But Dracula actually existed, though he had a different name. It was Vlad Dracul, meaning Vlad, the devil, as he was a very cruel ruler, lived in the 15th century, a bloodthirsty tyrant, a real historical figure. He was also called Vlad the Impaler, as he used to impale his enemies.
Vlad built the citadel of Bucharest in 1458, this later became and still is the capital city of the country.
His headless body (his enemies killed him) is buried in a charming church on a little island on Lake Snagov.
He became a legendary figure after Bram Stoker's novel appeared in 1897.
But the farthest east Stoker went in his research was to the British Museum in London, he never visited Transylvania.
On the other hand, I know Andre is nothing like Dracula, especially after he announced it. Ha!
But I wouldn't mind if he were and held me captive in his Old Castle. Oh, my, what a dream!!

Winston was bought by my partner (before we got back together), he was supposed to be a miniture yorkie so he could sit in the wheelchair with Ricky,Winstons legs grew and so did his body!!!! although he is kennel club registered (posh name Count Duuko)he was bought for a pet.Winston is a really good pal for me and company. Hello dear friends. Summer has returned to the sunny land. I think I jumped the gun a bit starting on my winter menu of porridge for breakfast. The weather is glorious.
I notice on Andre's site he is due to appear on TV in UK on Sunday 13th November on Strictly Come Dancing. (No chance of getting tickets for that show) Fantastical. However there is no mention of him appearing on The Alan Titchmarsh Show so I just hope he does or I shall be sooo disappointed

the Dvd world is a bit scarce when it comes to new DVDs &CDs, i wonder has that been done for a reason as last year when Andre' was in Mexico there were so many copys of His Concerts that were not made by the people who regularly do that , I thought at the time how do they get away with that its like stealing from Andre', maybe a few more will come forth when He has finished His concerts there in Mexico' I have ordered the cd off Andre's site but will wait to get the dvd from Ovation as we need PAL here in OZ., I am once more going back to those photos, then I think to bed with my 2 favorite men, I am in the middle of THE Stadium Tour which was His first concert here & with The Castle, that would have been something to see live, as when Andre' saw the first one built in Toronto He shed a few tears, I think its beautiful that He shares those emotions with us, for those of you who have the dvd "My Music My Life" you know those emotions between Himself & Pierre, I think they are so moving & Honest;

Apparently when we go to the TV studio we see two shows. One which goes out live that day 27th September and another which is recorded to be seen on another date. As far as I know Andre is on the show being recorded as I have checked next weeks TV and there is no mention of his name. Sorry to have misled you dear people. OOps

Thank You Josephine you are very clever, I have many photos now in my collection, each one i love for what Andre' shares with us, the above photo although a younger Andre' gives me Butterflys, & I have listened to Himself sharing those words, we Know Marjorie is behind our Great Man, I believe She is some Great Lady, & as much as we all love Andre' I admire Him even more, when He has spoken so beautifully about His Wife, Andre' is Brilliant, but I feel, & Andre' has said this, without Marjorie He would just be a man who plays the violin well, Says a lot about this great personality eh????; He has also stated that without Her he would not do what He does now but would do something else, so I always include Marjorie in my prayers, that They may live long & prosper;;

Welcome Marie we are all , I think a little crazy on this site especially when it comes to A Man who Plays a Violin so beautifully & entertains us all, I have to be Honest & tell you I Like many artists but there is one, who cannot be bettered His name of course you know Is Andre' Rieu, most of His dvds & cds you can find at JB HI FI, or Sanity, if you shop on line ebay, but I usually go to the Ovation shop on line, they are very good & once you become a customer, & ask they will email you if new releases are coming, I personally got sick of waiting for new stuff to arrive into the shops with promises of Oh next week, then oh its not in yet, whereas with Ovation they let you know your order has been received, then again when it been sent, I don't know when I last bought from the retailers, thats when it comes to Andre's Dvds & Cds, if you choose to become a Gold Member on His web site, Andre'Rieu .com you get a 10% discount, but the dvds may not be PAL, so I usually only buy cds or other merchandise, I do hope you enjoy your time spent here with us, this site has been my sanity everyone cares & that means a lot in todays society, go back & browes some of the earlier blogs there are some beautiful Photographs of Andre' who I never get sick of looking at, He is a Man of many expressions;WELCOME;

Doom Doom Doom and Gloom
Hi dear friends. Just arrived home after a long day,with a sad and heavy heart
Our Darling Andre was there, at the ITV Centre but we didn't get to see him
Cry sob
Asked afterwards why and was told the show was running late and because of insurance reasons the audience was only allowed to stay for a certain length of time so had to go. Andre was going to be recorded for a later date. What is so upsetting is the thoughts of Andre playing his little heart out in an empty studio. Quite a few people I spoke to had gone only to see Andre. I don't understand it at all because they would surely know how long each item on the show would last and by the time the stage was set up for Andre there is no way there would ever have been time for him to be on.
Even saw the tour bus parked outside
So near yet so far
I am broken hearted. I will go to bed and watch an Andre DVD and cry myself to sleep. Dreaming of what might have been

I am so sorry you didnt see Andre yesterday Josephine, I too was watchiung on tele and was equally disappointed that Andre didnt appear, I feel sometimes that Alan has too many people on his show for that hour, he seems to try to pack too much in. However what I have done so as not to miss him again I have put the show on reecord daily so no matter what happens we will catch him sometime.however I feel that I would have been devistated to even see sight of his bus, well I would find it very hard to get over so I know very well how you are feeling.
Jeanine Ann did say she was going to see Andra on the 19th November and I did ask her if that would be at Strictly Come Dancing, which is on the 19th November but she has not said ya or na at the moment but I always wsatch Strictly anyway as I used to do a lot of ballroom dancing competitions when my husband was alive but sadly he died of cancer, its been sometime ago now but I still miss him very much.

Andre' certainly wears some colors, that on any other man would look a bit strange, but He knows what He can wear & wears it well, the only things I don't specially like are those check trousers, yet all the other colors He wears look super, I remember way back when He was doing Wonderland & He arrived in Lemon trousers & a yellow lamb skin coat Different But He always looks so good, I wonder who shops for Him, you see I don't only admire The Man I admire what He wears; I have rewatched Maastricht 3 I really find that dvd fascinating how He gathered all those wind players, oh its Good so very good, its freezing here again to day so I am back to my Electric Blanket & of course my 2 favorite fellows, night all & God Bless;

Hi dear friends on a Glorious Uk day. Made even more glorious by just seeing His Gorgeousness play Edelweiss on Alan Titchmarsh Show . He looked FABULOUS. Saw the spot right in front of the stage where I would have been sitting!!!!
However. I have a feeling Andre would have also recorded a piece for the November 10th Show as he will be in Brussels on that date so I really don't think there ever would have been time for us to have seen him .Swindle!!

Imagination is great I can Imagine Andre' standing there saying come on fay lets dance, [if only]???Jeanine Ann I got through eventually don't know what the problem was it told me so many times I was not allowed to access this site, I was almost in tears, I have confirmation that my cd is on the way, I did'nt buy the dvd as it did'nt say if was Pal, will get that here from Ovation, they will let me know when I can preorder, today we have lovely sun but not too hot, I don't mind the heat I just hate the humidity, we lived by the sea for so long & were used to a sea breeze usually by 11am I miss that, but not the rust you get from the salt air, I wonder is the river in Maastricht Salty, we lived at a place called Hat Head, not far from the Macleay River parts of it were salty & of course further from the sea it became fresh, its reported to be the fastest flowing river in the world when its in flood??? have a great Andre' day all;
Ok Fay I was just going to check on your name. This happened before Sometimes you come in as 'spam' but I just know to approve you. Why you come in that way I don't know. When I get some time after the first of the month I will check your settings. Glad you are on now. I don't know much about the River Maas but I intend to find out next year. Béla is Hungarian but he is not from Hungary. He was not born there, he did not grow up there, in fact he never even lived there. Noticed how André never introduces him as being "from Hungary"? Here's your reason! So if he would be lobbying, it would be for Serbia. (he did try to get André to do a show on the Dohm square in Cologne. No success.)

Oh dear all those lovely photos & music, the one of Andre' in the white suit its the only one I have seen with Him wearing His wedding ring on a chain, I suppose it could cause a problem when playing His violin, I had to have mine cut off so many years ago because of osteo in my hands they used to swell so much, never thought to wear it on a chain, I must say I do feel naked without it, but have since given it to my Grandaughter who was born on my birthday, she will be 25 this year, makes me feel old,she was a premy babe 1.3kgs, oh dear she was little, but a real fighter she had so much wrong & the drips that kept her alive damaged her gall bladder, so she lost that at age 2, but she is a happy healthy soon to be 25, I often tell people she was Gods birthday gift to me, I am a bit cheeky!!Jeanine Ann Thank you for posting all those photos they make my day, coming here & listning to such beautiful music, thank you too Deirdre'so easy on the ears early in the day, it seems more like spring today, & tomorrow we start Day light savings time; I like it but there are those that don't, when it first started a lady rang talk back radio & said the extra hour of sunlight faded her curtains, no amount of explaining could convince he, she believed we had a 25 hr. day; Andre Is no 1 on the list so keep voting all:
