                       'Meet Me In The Stairwell'

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California, Michigan, Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do.. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you . But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

                         God

    HEARTBREAKING IMAGES, HEAVENLY MUSIC.

I don't cry easily but I find it easy now.
    What right do I have? I wasn't even there at 9/11, 2001.
But I am now there with all my friends in the USA, with those I know and with those I have never met.

I am there in the stairwell, like everybody else. Had I been in one of the towers at 9/11 it could have been for the first time to meet HIM, for me too.
But now I feel nearer to HIM, I have changed, I belong.

Thank you JEANINE ANN thank you DEIRDRE thank you MY FRIENDS.

I was there. I lived in NYC at that time and faced south toward the WTC. I had taken an elderly lady to an early morning medical appointment and we came out just as the smoke appeared and hordes of people were silently walking up the street. We had to walk for miles to get to her house, but we made it. Nothing can diminish the tragedy but it shows how quickly NYC can get things in order By the time I left her house at about 7 p.m. I could take public transportation all the way to my house. At my house we were fine but couldn't stay outside because of all the smoke and soot. But we had no damage other than soot. One of the workers in our building lost a son. You can watch it on TV but you can't imagine what it's like standing there. We were watching from several blocks away but we saw the second building go down. Rudy Giuliani was amazing in taking charge. The officials realized that the best way to get people home was to start up the public transportation which of course had been stopped completely. Obviously, it's a day I'll never forget. I wish people today could show some of the cooperation that was evident that day.

Heartbreaking, uplifting, moving, and very true Jeanine. Thank you for this wonderful post. We shall never know why this happened, did it HAVE to happen? All the questions,to which we don't have the answers. We know one thing, HE is omnipotent, and HE is everywhere. May all who suffered loss of loved ones, loss of any kind during this awful time, be blessed by the True God. And may evil in this world be destroyed. God bless America, God bless freedom and God bless all of you. Kindest regards and love from South Africa to you all. Marianne.

    The Days have passed but the memories will stay with us forever, I personally find the memorial that has been built on that awfull site really beautiful, I cannot think of any memorial more touching, I watched a program of a new tower being built near by, it would be too hard to describe but it is a beautiful building, like the memorial a lot of thought has gone into the planning; WELL DONE AMERICA, you are indeed the home of The Free & The Brave, God Bless everyone;

This is a beautiful tribute to that horrible day back in 9/11 2001. Like all of you I remember exactly where and what I was doing, and of course, how it affected me then and even now. The tragedy of the people who lost their lives and loved ones on that day can never be righted.
I can only say that to me, those people are all heroes, along with those incredible uniformed men and women who helped everyone on that day. Believe me, I don't know that I could have gone through what they did...I guess we never know until it happens how we react and carry out our roles...but what I read of how people helped and fought through this event, I can only say they are true heroes in every way.
God Bless America and what it stands for, deep down where it means something...the love and life and understanding we share with most in the world, may it always be in the hearts of people.
Thanks Deirdre and Jeanine Ann, and thanks Eve for the art. Very touching, heartfelt and impressive.

Thanks to all who lost their lives, in a fantastic way you helped mankind...maybe in teaching them how to be loving heroes...maybe we can learn humility and love and understanding...I mean...on this day, 9/11, don't we all feel compassionate, heartfelt, more loving?
