FIRST SNOW FALLS IN MAASTRICHT

1 October, the warmest day in Maastricht and it is still snowing. Locally, that is. Not real but artificial snow is falling in the gardens and courtyard of André Rieu.

The Rieu employees were very busy transforming the castle into a magical Winter Wonderland. The scene is needed for the TV recordings of the traditional Christmas Special that André is making for the German television. A wonderful sight. In front of the Rieu castle, people were swimming in the Maas river. But for the violinist himself, it was middle winter.
