Sometimes I think that when we don't feel good, it's God's way of telling us to take it easy for a few days. I know that when you have a lot of people depending on you, it doesn't seem fair and financially it may not be the best, but sometimes we just need to take it easy. All the same, I hope that Andre is feeling much better and ready to take the world by storm again soon.

Hello Bill,I am not going to debate the weather Arizona/South Africa with you but our part of the world does get very hot in summer,and we are prone to heat waves.
Bill I plead ignorance in the following matter,most of the musicians tune their own instruments,who tunes Stephanie's piano,do they have piano tuner on site with them,or does Stephanie tune it herself?

Oh dear a lock of hair almost more precious than gold is it any wonder the Lucky Marjorie cuts Andre's hair; a lovey start to February, the video I just love did Andre' go back to the football field to do a repeat, how lovely, He was nice when He was younger but I much prefere Him as he is now, like a very Good vintage wine He has improved with age, to perfection, He just needs to take more care with His health & Realise how important He is to not only His Family & People but also to Us the people who love Him also, will come back later I have more to share, but life is in hurry mode at this point in time;

Went to see my Mum yesterday. Bent down to pick something up from the floor and my back 'went' as they say. It is rather painful to say the least. I can't afford to be laid up now as Darrell goes into Hospital for a knee replacement op on Tuesday so I have to go into Florence Nightingale mode when he gets home. Grrrr. Hello Josephine,I am sorry to hear that you have back problems.I was an electrician by trade,and walking up down the steps of high rise buildings and all the other strenuous things that we had to do I encountered back problems that forced me into early retirement.Doctors have put me on various medicines to no avail, the medicines only mess up your insides.A farmers wife gave me a recipe to relieve the pain and it works like a charm,and will give you pain relief for 6-8 hours
and you will also have a reasonable nights sleep.We in South Africa have a headache powder called GRANDPA POWDERS
which has a combination of 500mg paracetemol and 50mg of asprin. mixed the powder with two tablespoons of aqueous cream that is fragrance and color free into a paste and apply to your back, you will be amazed at the pain relief it provides.If you wish you can e-mail Bill in Arizona with your physical address and I can get it from him and I will be more than happy to send you a box or two or you could try your local chemist to make it up for you.

Beautiful Music thank you Jeanine Ann, we had a stressfull day yesterday, Narelle is supposed to go in on 7th for a Hysterectomy, alas she still has clots in one leg, so off we had to go to see her specialist then to a vascular surgeon, who sent us for blood tests 13 of those little tubes of blood they took, then back to the gyn. man to check about tuesday all is on hold for the moment, then home to a letter from Centerlink informing me that because I get super I owe them money,after spending 3/4 hr on hold the smart man told me to write a letter,which I did just as well I did'nt post it I received another similar letter today, spent ages on hold but eventually got through & spoke to a very nice person who went through all the ins & outs even to my maiden name, after all this He said somebody Has made a big mistake & I would get a letter, later to-day a lady rang full of remorse as it was she who made the mistake, what a 2 days we have had tomorrow has to be a nice surprise, its just been one of those weeks up & down with explosions in between, thank you for letting me rave on it helps to remove the pressure; for those of you with Foxtel in Australia, Andre's My Music My Life is on Saturday, New York Memories on Sunday, check your "Studio" program for times, I am off to bed with Andre' & Jasper, I wish about the first one, Ha Ha, Jasper gets a bit upset If I don't put Andre' on when I go to bed. Happy dreams all, of guess who;????
Hi Fay, wow you had a busy day. I hope all works out for Narelle. I know they cannot operate when any blood clots are known. I will keep her in my prayers. I pray for you and Narelle every day. You both are on my list - my prayer list that is. How is little Jasper? Camellia is doing okay but eats like a horse. We feed her twice a day and she has dry food in the dish day and night and when we eat she wants our food. I had our food on the table the other day and just went for something and came back to see Cami eating the food from my plate. The Vet said she has no tape worm but I don't think it is normal for a cat to eat like this. She pests every time we eat. She is so cute you can hardly say no to her. She has another bad habit of licking her fur in certain areas to the point her skin is visible. She has a large patch on her paw and one on her belly. Must talk to the vet about that now. To Judith , I sincerely hope that whatever procedure or test you had done was 100% successful.
To Josephine , be careful with that back my friend. I have suffered about 20 years with mine putting it out and have had 2 operations on it already. I will not go for a 3rd operation. The first time I put it out was actually quite funny (when I think of it now) as I was in a bad mood on that particular day and had a bottle of marmite/vegemite in my hand which I couldn't open. So I got into a temper and threw it so hard against the wall that I don't know what I did with my body but when I eventually got to the hospital and they all wanted to know what I had done and how did it happpen they all rolled around with laughter! Least to say I was not amused.
To Jeanine Ann , read your response where you wined and dined with Andre, JSO and Mirusia = oh how lucky you are. I'm surprised you were able to stand for the photo I would have just collapsed into a heap. YOU LUCKY LADY!
Dear Deidre , could I trust you to cut just a snippet of Andre's wonderful hair. You might just carried away and cut off too much and THEN WHAT!!!! But then I know you love our Andre just too much to spoil his looks.
On reading a magazine I came across the promotion of Andre coming to South Africa and one of his many talents that were mentioned in the article were his
"dancing fingers". I just loved that and thought it was so so appropriate.
Andre and his JSO has done wonders for all of us so yes a BIG GROUP HUG for Andre. I sincerely hope he is better by now. Although his hectic schedule still has me worried somehow. Flying from extreme temperatures, the aircon in the aeroplanes and hotels plus change in altitude etc, can not be too good for a person. But then as everyone has said before Andre wants to please everyone around the world and everyone wants to see him.
My prayer for Andre:
Dear Father God, please stretch YOUR hand over Andre and the JSO and restore them all back to 100% health, if not for our sake but for the sake of their families and loved ones. AMEN

there is a little cafe near this facility I believe.I walked on the beach with Coco 0645 explaining that I would be bike riding in Maastricht and she didn't seem the slightest bit interested.I love her so and she is the last living contact with my beautiful Ben as she is his dog.I will replace her with a spoodle as I like medium size dogs for security.only 4+mths to the Vrijthof. We went to see André in Cape Town last year. This year we are going to the Dome in Jhb. We always attend André's first concert in South Africa: Sun City (2010,) Cape Town (2011), Maastricht (22/06-first concert) and Coca-Cola Dome (17/08). Hello everyone, and wishing you all a very happy February. I have been reading through all your lovely posts and am overwelmed at the love that is coming through to me. On Monday I was given my new contact lenses. I told the optometrist that I need to see André perfectly from all distances when we go to Maastricht. I had/have a hard time applying them into my eyes. Sweet Lulu (my kitty) did not help much because she played with the container and had my lenses all mixed up. After about a zillion tries, I was able to fit both lenses. BUT, I could not see a thing! Not near, not far. Needless to say, after three hours of hell I decided to take my lenses out. To my horror the lens in my left eye was missing. No wonder I couldn't read! When I took the lens out my right eye, there it was!! I had TWO lenses in one eye!! Ha-ha great was the relief. I thought I was going blind and will never be able to see my André perform in Maastricht.

Before I had it done, I couldn't see to go to the bathroom at night. I had to do away with my lenses long before 2008 because of the air conditioning - dried them out completely.

My family and I stayed in Pretoria from 1972/1979.
Absolutely loved it there - I felt homesick for Pretoria when we returned to UK.
We lived firstly in Sunnyside and then in Constantia Park.
We returned when my husband got offered a directorship in the UK - still miss it; Jacarandas, koeksisters, Greatermans, the OK, Pick'n'Pay, Checkers' The Glen High, Lynwood Ridge Primary School - I could go on and on.....
Our youngest son was born in the Marifont and says he feels he is Suth African nt British!!! He has all the shirts fr ewhen te rugby r cricket is on.

Talk about a small world Gloria! We lived in Sunnyside at that time too - in Esselen Street, cnr of Devenish in a block of flats called Unity Heights. Fond memories of those days, and of course Sunnypark!!! And Peter's Pancake Place, and the "Lecker" Dutch restaurant further down the road. Do you remember the Acropolis Cafe on that corner? We used to buy koeksisters there (they were about 8 inches long!) And believe me, my hubby and I have all the shirts for rugby and cricket!

Hello Norma, A live Andre concert is out of this world,but what you miss are the antics of the musicians,after all one cannot see every thing at once,I prefer
the dvd's,one can see what the heck they are up to.I have never seen two women who can smile like Tanya and Jennifer Kowalski , they can be used in an advert for toothpaste, or Andre's and Manoe's facial expressions in a live concert you see this only once,but on a dvd, I have it for a life time.

Hello Bill, GIEDRE AS THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE????, you picked a real cracker here ,she has a face and legs to die for, well done.This orchestra is like bowl of sweets/candy and the ladies are all so damn nice,we don't know which one to choose,and it takes us ages before a final decision is made.What I like is when the ladies climb the stairs to get on stage,they lift their dresses a little to get over the top ridge of the stage,and a glimpse of ankle and those lovely feet in those beautiful shoes are shown,and some of them are a little more generous, and lift their dresses a little higher,oh my heart.
Bill at our age we dirty old men don't have many perks left,so we take what we can get.I bet you when Andre gets on stage first,he does not look at the audience, HE LOOKS AT THE ANKLES AND FEET OF OUR LADIES,heck I would.

Phillip I just love your little piece that you had saved it says a lot & is soo true; Deirdre I thought only I did silly things like that I need to change my undies I laughed so much; Jeanine Ann thank you it is great to be able to share lifes ups & down, I am still amazed, usually it takes months for specialists App. but we went straight from the hospital to a private one where He also has rooms we only waited 15 min, then up the hall to vascular man, we waited 20 min. then down for blood tests , I decided to go back to ask our Gyn. man about next tuesday which is now on hold, He said come back next wed. when you have again seen vascular Dr. don't worry about app. I'll slot you in; then yesterday friday the admissions Dr. from Blacktown Hospital rang just to ask how we got on wed.this topped my week off as Public Hospital Drs. don't ring up their patients to find out how things are going, I am a bit flabigasted & gratefull. Re Camellia maybe as a kitten she was'nt fed or had to fight for what she got, maybe a spray bottle of water for bad habits, but still tell her you love her, whilst being naughty is not on; Jasper eats chicken breast fillets, he used to have wingettes but I got sick of trading on bits of bone, I go to a factory outlet where the chickens are dressed & go to the stores, on a sat. I can buy 3kgs for $13.00 so I usually buy 3 lots & rebag to daily amounts & freeze them, He is not spoilt ha ha, I have tried all sorts of cat food no way, I think He thinks He is human I ask him to do something & he does, I jokingly say He is my husband come back, & of course He just loves Andre's music this tickles my fancy all the time, He has great taste eh!!!
Hi Fay.Glad things are sorting out for you. Re chicken. From what I understand Winston did eat "proper" dog food when a puppy. For some reason Ricky started giving him chicken, and that was, it he would know longer eat dog food. When Ricky died I started to mix his chicken with cereal flakes adding more as time went on. I always thought it was not good for him to have cooked chicken all the time, he will now also eat the cereal dooy bones but only chicken flavour. I usuall buy my chicken fillets for him from a well known frozen food outlet in the UK. At the moment 2x1kl bags cost £8.00, before christmas they were selling 3 bags for £10. Hi Mary, thanks for saying hello. I would love to have your weather. We are in the middle of winter here in America but it has not been too bad snow-wise. The one snow we had came in October and hit many of our nice trees since the leaves were still on them. It was a heavy snow and I took a broom and knocked the snow off my best trees and bushes and that helped but many lost valuable trees. They are calling for some snow Sunday but probably not much. Just been watching Andre in Wonderland.
Absolutely fantastic. I particularly love Ki Mo and No. Very clever. I expect that is down to Marjories imagination. Shows she has a wicked sense of humour just like Andre.
Talking of contact lenses DEIRDRE. I also wear them and have a different prescription for each eye. One for reading. One for distance. Sometimes in a hurry I put them in the wrong eye.
Most peculiar. I don't know whether I am coming or going. Occasionally I forget I haven't taken them out at night. Put my specs on to read in bed and can't see a thing cos I'm double magnified. You gotta have your wits about you with these things.

Hi Josephine , Re Andre in Wonderland and Ki Mo and No. When we went to Brussels I crossed stitched 3 coasters with cartoon type Japanese ladies for Andre and wrote Ki Mo and No on the back of the coasters, I also printed of the Japanese signs for the names. I also wrote that they brought a smile as he brought millions of smiles to us.

My one lens is for reading and the other for distance. Ha-ha when I close my right eye (distance) I can read better with my left eye(reading). At the concert I will close my right eye and perhaps I will be able to 'read' what is going on in the heart of our lovely man on stage when he is so deep in thought (another dimension) when playing his violin. It was so nice seeing your lovely face and to hear your cheerful laugh on SKYPE. Oh we are sooooooo in love!! LOST I SHOULD RATHER SAY.

I have never noticed the ladies' ankles!? Wonder why?? Oh yes I know why, who in her right mind will look at the ladies when André is on stage, ha-ha! At our Cape Town Concert (March 2011) I handed a bouquet of flowers to Manoe for her birthday. André took it from my trembling hand and handed it to Manoe. I thought I was going to die when he smiled at me and said" "Thank you". Manoe was very happy and thanked me with the best smile ever!! I just love her, always so busy behind André. I think that fighting cancer (and survived) has given her more zest for life.

Hi dear friends. I have just noticed Andre is on Alan Titchmarsh Show in UK on Tuesday. I wish they would advertise it more in advance. I looked last week and it wasn't there. Not that I could go to the live show this time of course as Darrell goes into Hospital that day. Still wondering who the Private Concert is for. Guessing it will be in London as he won't have time to go far after the AT Show. Maybe if not for The Queen, Alan himself. Someone is going to be very very lucky anyway and someone is going to be very very jealous. Me !!!! Not me!!!

I have been reading the blog regularly, but I have been in "the wars". I had a mv accident, wrote my car and almost myself off. Subsequently I am being a bit restricted in my daily rushing around. A lesson here to stop pushing oneself and take some time out. No one else was involved in my car accident. It was early in the morning, and I hit a brick wall after leaving my daughter's gated resort, crossed the narrow road and demolished a concrete garden plot, ended up in resort brick wall.
I wonder how Shirley is coming on in her current chemo battle? I think of her often.
By the way I have dual citizenship, a New Zealand and an Australian Passport. The 6th February was Waitangi Day in NZ.
It was a public holiday, similar to Australia day here. Where I live there are hundreds of "Kiwis" living on the Gold Coast and lots of celebrations on the Sunday, 5th Feb, in this country.

Hello Ruth,I don't believe it would be a concert for the queen, the queen is very loyal to her people and to invite an outside orchestra to play at her jubilee,would be a slap in the face to the british musicians,and especially on the day that KGV1 died, no I cannot see that taking place, that would be like asking the American military bands to play at trooping the colour. It could be that some aristocrat with mega money has asked Andre to play at a family function.

Hello Bill,I have replied to your e-mail,I would like to discuss something with you,am at present watching "and the waltz goes on" at the part where Andre and the JSO are in the nice room at Belvedre palace/castle where Andre received his award.Looking at each and every musician they are all smiling and seem to be enjoying themselves,but what sought of lives do they really have when the chairs have put on the tables and the lights have been turned off and they return to their homes what do they return to? a caring husband,wife boyfriend.girlfriend,or do they return to a cold lonely home with no one to welcome them,I would hate to think that this the case,are their lives an illusion and the orchestra their escape route into reality?most of the girls have wedding rings or rings on their fingers,Stephanie used to wear a wedding ring,but has not worn one for some time it would be nice if each and every one had a partner to go home to.
These wonderful musicians give us so pleasure and joy and I shudder to think
that they could be unhappy outside of the orchestra,so perhaps at night when we say our prayers we can ask GOD TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.Ladies would you like to comment?With lots of love to all of you

Hi Philip, first of all I would like to say that you are one of the most caring and friendly gentleman to come our way. You seem to care very much about Andre and the JSO and about all the fans here on the blog. I guess we will never know what sort of life the JSO and even Andre have off stage. They are so nice to the fans and such a good time on stage and off stage as far as we can see on the DVD's but these are only snapshots we get and will ever be able to see. I don't think it is possible for us to see the entire picture of anyone unless you live with this person. It is my hope also that these jolly men and women have the kind of life that we would like for them. I must say that if I worked for Andre I would be very happy all the time. I believe Andre is strict with them but kind and compassionate at the same time. Any criticism from him would only be for his/her own good. I know a lot of them have children and several are couples and some married within the group. I look at them as a family of very talented musicians with a very talented (to say the least) and kind boss of this family. I believe they are very caring of each other and of Andre. So Philip all I can say is that my hope and my prayer is like yours, that they come home to a good husband/wife or friend just most of us do but we will never know. Just back from visiting Darrell in Hospital.The operation went well but as expected he is n a lot of pain. Quite chirpy though as he always is.

Jet and Ton/Lin and Ruud/ Cord and Judith/ Tanya and Roos/ Lara and Leon/ Rene and Virginie/ Agnes is married to a crew member (Michel Fizzano- camerman) as is Nicole. At one time Andre said there were 11. One is no more so maybe there are ten now.

Phillip this is just "my" impression of Andre' & all the JSO, watch "Andre' Rieu On the Way To New York", also "Andre's Australian Adventures" these gave me an idea of how all are treated, also I know Andre' has a child minding place for his people for while they are away & their partners working so that the children are safe & cared for, I also get the idea when you see how all are fed & so well looked after, its not for just during the concerts, I believe what we see is what they all get 24/7/12, Andre' I believe considers His people as extended family, I may be wrong but I don't think so, I would be really interested to read all your thoughts Ladies & Gentlemen am I right or wrong???///?????

on the various dvd's, you can see that his orchestra members adore him,in a interview with Stephanie a few weeks ago

I believe there will be a collective sigh of relief from all of Andre & the JSO musicians fans when they get back up on stage. You KNOW Andre & the musicians want to get back up on stage more than anything else.
I wouldn't be surprised if Andre's fondest wish is for his legacy to live on long after he passes away with concerts performed & the forumula he's come up with, just like Johann Strauss.
I have no doubt, anytime, anyone, anywhere in the world mentions Johann Strauss they will also mention Andre Rieu's name in the same sentence.

Oh dear I feel we will all have to prayer a little harder & longer for our beautiful Man,I do hope he is feeling a little better but I feel He uses up so much energy He give us His all not only during the concerts but with all the rehearsls & things that He does, to me Andre' always seems to be doing 150kms plus; please Dear Man take care of yourself, your family need your love & care & we your people also need you as you make our sun shine;
My first thought this morning was to hope that as this day passes Andre will be feeling much better and will let us know the situation. I know it must be difficult for the family but just a little more information would be lovely.

I think Deirdre has hit the nail on the head by saying in her blog "So many people want a share of Andre and he already gives so much". My feelings are that he is not adhering to doctor's orders and slowing down - in fact he is doing the exact opposite. I noticed in a clip from his Maastricht show in 2011 just before his grand entrance he did some balancing on one leg. Does he still suffer from vertigo maybe? Just my feelings and I do worry about him and the JSO.

To Phil and Bil l, the two scoundrels - I hope you are behaving yourselves these days. I may not be able to speak Afrikaans but I understand it very well. It is actually quite funny as my ex-mother-in-law was Afrikaans and would converse with me in Afrikaans and I would answer her in English. My ex-husband was tweetalig. How's that for kitchen language. No moderators I'm not swearing, kitchen language is when you use two or three languages in conversation.
To sweet Deirdre , oh how I am grieving with you. I also can't bear to think of Andre and his JSO being ill. One likes to see him on stage with his violin and "strutting his stuff" as they say in the classics.

Now isn't this a co-incidence - I am also Irish/English. My mom's parents were from Ireland but she was born in the Tonga Islands and my dad was from Strange-over-Sands (I may have the spelling a bit wrong here). Sometimes the Irish in me comes out with my temper, but not too often. People can't believe that I was born in Durban, SA, as I speak English quite eloquently and with a bit of an english accent. I don't know why God made women's legs and ankles because I don't really care but I LOVE long legs on men and TALL men and it helps if he has Andre's face. But Philip I think the reason the girls all lift their dresses when going up the stairs is not to show them to men but to make sure they do not trip. But you are right about the blog we don't care about the grammar or spelling goofs but we do care about the comments and make sure they are nice and clean. You can still purchase tickets for the concert at the Dome via Computicket. There is however NO MEET AND GREET (M&G) available in South Africa yet. I did ask HUTA LIVE about it and they said that they would find out if André will be willing to do a meet and greet, but no news yet. At a Meet and Greet, you will meet André and get the opportunity to take a photo with him, which he will autograph. You will also meet some of the members of the JSO and soloist that are able to converse in English. They are all very friendly and will pose for photos with you. But as I have said, these Meet and Greets are not yet an option in South Africa. i too wish and dream of meeting André in person. Love and hugs xxxx

Hi Philip, what is buckets and buckets full of songs (?) What does that mean? I am hoping that you will have M&G's one of these days. I met Stephanie in my State of Pennsylvania and she was very nice to us. I also met Kalki and two of the violinists whose names escape me at the moment. I met Mirusia several times, the Platin Tenors and Frank who is super nice and we met Teun in Florida. Carmen and Suzan were in the area when we were in Toronto but only took a photo with Mirusia . We also met Carla in the dinner line at the M&G, that was the time we met Andre and had our photos taken with him . What a day to remember. All the JSO are very nice to the fans. I couldn't agree with you more. Andre is not slowing down and obeying doctor's orders. As you say he seems to be upping the pace which I don't think is a good thing. I know his fans are delighted he is adding another show but is it not to his own detriment? Although I wouldn't like to deprive his fans but when he gives concerts he is standing, dancing and giving it all he's got whilst on that stage with each concert which lasts about approx over 2 hours. I really do feel for him as it must be frustrating for the poor man to be sick and not performing for his beloved fans.

But then I think you know. It's a two way thing - we are worried about you and you are worried that you are not performing for your fans. Maureen and Shirley I sang that song with my sister when I was a little girl. We both loved to sing and we used to give our "backyard concerts" and invite our friends and family. Hi Deirdre sweetie, so glad you are back from that hard work of marking. It is worse when you cannot listen to Andre's music. I think we are all missing Andre even though we can play the CD's and DVD's. I remember the first time I played one of the Maastricht DVD's the first time he was sick I just sat and cried through the whole DVD when I saw him smile and play so beautifully. Dear PHILIP,
I wonder if it is not because of the fact that André has his concert in the Coca-Cola Dome. My sons tell me that the sound/acoustics are not very good. They have watched a few pop/rock bands perform at the Dome and were not very impressed with the sound. But André has a very excellent sound system and sound technicians and he does the soundcheck himself. SUN CITY is just magical, but I think André wants to draw a bigger variety of all races to his concert AND he did say that the Dome was closer for everyone to attend. BUT there is still time before he comes to South Africa and I am positive that more shows will be added soon. Am I going to see/meet you at the Dome? Love and hugs, Deirdré xx
Hello Deidre,I think Andre is making a mistake using the dome,the dome is a dump compared to the super bowl, sun city,there is a lot of face lifting going to be needed at the dome.I am still not sure if I will attend this years concert,I don't like gospel choirs
in a classical concert.The soweto gospel choir,we can tune in to sabc1/2 on a week end and see and hear them there.we have many brilliant African classical choirs in RSA WHY NOT USE ONE OF THEM,?

Taking days quietly for now -- my wings are clipped!!!! Spent most of this week end watching our lovely man Andrei and his JSO on TV. My favourite New York Mempories for about the 50th time, I never tire of this. We are lucky that Ovation and Studio TV are playing Andrei and JSO DVD's regularly.Fay keep on Talking to God on Sundays. Hi Gary. Wow Canary Islands. That brings back happy memories of holidays spent there in my younger days. Days when I was working hard and was happy to get away from the UK winter and just lie on the beach and do nothing. Soaking up the sun. Even spent an enjoyable Christmas there one year. meet and keep Andre,ALL THE LOVE STRUCK WOMEN ON THIS BLOG.Bill on the subject of meet and greet I think this system stinks,it does not give those who are under privledged financially to get to meet their favorite musician.I stand corrected, by going what I have read on the websites, a m+g with Andre costs 2500usd and a musician 500usd.and that does not include the price of the concert ticket,and then you only meet musicians who speak English,why not meet the musician of your choice and use an interpreter from the orchestra,Nadia for one speaks a number of European languages,and there are others who speak multiple languages,I am afraid this system is a rip off.The Corries in Scotland had a good system,they drew 20 ticket numbers at random,and the lucky number holders were invited back stage
for a meet and greet,and had photographs taken,were given a signed copy of the latest tape/lp/cd so every one no matter what the price of the ticket was, had a chance to meet there Idols,THEY NEVER PAID FOR A MEET AND GREET.If the financial figures are incorrect please correct me.I have a couple more gripes for later on.

The DesMoines, Iowa Meet&Greet(2011) was $500
which included two 3rd row seats center
floor section, a new DVD and Mirusia, Giedre and Bela came to the M&G. At other PBS venues it might be $600 for same package. I look at it as a donation to PBS. If a fan can't afford that package, they can hang around one
of the entrances and watch for a JSO member to show up. Franco was outside at
Reading a few years ago. In Pittsburg I saw Vicenzo, Franco, and about seven of the JSO ladies but most were in a hurry.
They will be in street clothes so it helps to know their names. You can get lucky. There is sometimes a concert package costing about $1,500.(U.S.)to have dinner(one person) with orchestra
and Andre but you can't approach Andre's
table-a couple of JSO members or more will be at your assigned table. Pretty
pricey for most fans but might be a once
in a lifetime event so.....
Here in Phoenix, the dinner package was $2,500 per person. It was cancelled because only 1 person was willing to come up with the $2,500. I think most people knew the dinner package was $1,500 in other cities.

I would pay 1500USD to spend a hour in her company over a meal, and get to know her a little and to have a photograph taken with her,that is money well spent
if other musicians join us,then that is a bonus.To stand at an exit and hope that you will see your favorite musician,that is like waiting for a handout,no I don't want handout's,I am prepared to pay for what I want.To pay 500usd for a m+g and then you must accept who ever is available,it is like going to buy a motor car,you have your eye set on the car you want,but they don't have in stock,so you must settle for some thing else at the same price as the car that you wanted'would you accept that?I would not,because at the end of the day,the musicians are human being's, no better and no worse than us.The price of concert tickets is more than reasonable for what we get,and we do get a lot for our money,but to pay 500USD TO SHAKE SOME ONE'S HAND AND HAVE A PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN WITH THEM.NO ONE IS THAT SPECIAL.

HI, MARY, sweetie girl,
Yes, I am OK, not so much snow in Transylvania as in the southern part of the country, there they have houses covered in snow, highways blocked, more then sixty people died cos they could not get food and water. There are a lot of secluded areas, small villages, hamlets hidden, up in the mountains, no one can get to them. Though rescue teams, helicopters bring them food and water, the situation is still dodgy and the blizzard goes on and on.
They said there's one more week of hard winter then it's gonna ease up a bit.
In times like this I just remember I am not in the worst situation.
And again in times like this I dream of being somewhere else: South Africa! for instance, (hm? Deirdre!) or the Bahamas or California.
Then I switch "channels" and I am in Maastricht, in June.
What would I do without my imagination!?
All these being said, and me knowing that my lovely friends are thinking of me, I can start the week in a good mood.
With a lot of music.
And the 2nd Waltz is still the favorite!

hello Mary .. Yes I still play the violin.. Ive had a bit of a drama the last couple of weeks.It was brought to my attention that my violin wasnt what i thought it was or had paid fo,but a cheaper one. I went back to the music store and after cheching with the sullpier and the maker ir was confirmed that mine was an Autumn and not a Winter. Difference being $1200 Aus. Well alls well that ends well. last saturday they offered me a Master series which is much better again at no extra cost. Yay! Im a happy "kid" !!. I needed cheering up as several weeks ago Ilost my footing at a friends place and careered face first into her metal gate post. Ouch! I thought I had killed myself. A huge nasty bruise on my chin and cheek bone... Bruises in unseen places..lump on my head... and on and on and on!! How lucky I was not to have broken bones. Well Andres music was the best medicine of course. We are all so concerned that he is so unwell. The world is not a happy place when our "anchor' is sick. Hope allis well with you Mary. Thanks Fay, we are fine here, a beautiful day today. We've had a lot of storms the last couple of weeks, but rain only, not hail thank goodness. A few years ago we had a big hailstorm that smashed our skylights and wrecked our roof. Hailstones as big as golf balls were crashing through the ceiling. I was mainly worried about our cat, she was on the other end of the corridor from me and I thought she was going to try and run to me and get injured by the sharp lumps of ice.
Eve I'm sorry you're having such a difficult winter. I hate being cold and really feel for you. At least Andre's music will be helping you warm up xx

Hi all, André's favorite recipe with endives is in the extras at the end of "Andre's Australian Adventures" if you don't have it look out for it its a gem, also Andre' trying vegemite very funny, there are recipes on the CD Feast, the endive one is there plus a few others, there is a nice cake one I would like to try it has "all purpose flour" in it Help what sort of flour is that plain or self raising?????; back to the endive recipe the chops Andre picked were the fattest available but not fat enough for Andre' & He loves to use lots of butter, He's the man for me I love butter, I try to be good & buy the one with canola oil in it, & I love butter with my cold toast it must be cold as I hate the butter to melt, I put lemon curd on top & have to share that with Jasper, a friend gave me a jar of home made ginger & rhubarb jam He likes that also, He's not spoilt though Ha Ha;f or those of you with foxtel Studio have Andre' on both saturday & sunday check it out;
Sweet Fay, I have watched "André's Australian Adventure" and could not believe the amount of fat and butter André is consuming! But I loved watching him doing his thing in the kitchen. I am glad that you find a better violin!
During World War 11 my father was in Italy for 5 years and he brought back 2 violins. A smaller one and a ordinary size one. I used to play with the small one when I was a kid (1000 years ago). The other violin ( still in my possession) is a stradivarius ( I dont know if it is real, but a wonderful sound) Everyone wants it. I say no, the only person I will give it to is Andre because I know he will look after it.
I hope you are better after the bad fall and I am glad that nothing is broken. Luckily we still have Andre's beautiful music to heal us!

The Soweto Gospel choir is great for audiences outside of South Africa,but African choirs are virtually pushed down our throats on sabc1/2 It cannot be easy For Andre to draw a menu of music for a country.it must be difficult to play music that will please the audience.but I suggest that Andre does a little more
home work about a country,before he decides what music to play.He put our Kimmi on stage and she sang tula tula baba,and of course there was Sarie Marais,the audience went beserk it was so well received,Andre hit the jackpot, and then he played a tribute to Michael Jackson,I and a few others sat there dumb founded,sexual abuse toward children is big issue in our country,we have daily reports in our news media about it.I thought Andre what the hell are you doing, Michael Jackson
was a paedophile and you are playing a tribute to him in a country were child abuse is a major issue.We are a wonderful country and we love and will always love Andre to play here,but hey do a little research,child abuse is a very sensitive issue and needs to be addressed with the ultimate consideration.Soentjies en Liefde vir U my hartjie.

Hi Philip - I watched an entire programme about Michael Jackson, his life and music, on TV this past week. To be fair to the late Michael, it would appear that the accusations that Michael Jackson sexually abused children were never proven. Sadly, there are those who would take (financial) advantage of famous artists, and there were counter-allegations that the parents of the child supposed to have been "molested" by Michael, were doing it for alternative reasons. If a child of mine had ever been sexually molested, I would NEVER have accepted a financial "settlement" to make the charges go away, and the parents of the boy in question did just that.
I agree with you that Andre has a difficult task in his choice of artists who perform with him when he tours South Africa - thus far, he has been spot on, with Kimmy Skota , and also James Bhemgee , as well as the Bloemfontein Childrens' Choir.
I have no problem with the Soweto Gospel Choir - they are renowned world wide and am sure that his concerts in South Africa this year will be as wonderful as the past two years.

Unfortunately our Buffalo Bills Football team always starts off like 'gang busters' but seem to loose interest or suffer from 'brain damage' because they always seem to come sooo close, but loose. I believe they went to the Super Bowl in 1991. Also, I like to follow the Syracuse, NY football team, Syracuse men's and LADIES basketball games. YEA....GO SYRACUSE!!!!

Norma the very first thing I saw when I clicked on was Andre' better such great news, I really hate the thought of our Beautiful Andre' being ill, I know what made Him well I suggested to Mirusia that she offer Andre' VEGEMITE dissolved in hot water, most Aussies will know & love it as when you are ill its as good as Beef Tea if not better, but for those of you who have seen Andre' try VEGEMITE you will know He did not enjoy the taste, I don't know what it is, there are other products on the market like Bovril, Marmite etc. but to me Vegemite leaves them for dead, Oh I am so happy today with Our Andre' news I feel like going out the front & shouting it out loud for all to hear, THANK YOU NORMA XXX OOO MIOW;

Yes I am so very very happy that our Dear Georgeous Man, Andre , is back to full health again and will be on stage very soon where he belongs performing for all his dear fans. I know we have people of different religous denominations here on this site, but I Thank the Lord for his Hand in bringing Andre and the JSO back to full health . Remember we were all praying so hard for him and now we should all say "THANK YOU " I am not not trying to preach the Bible here but I do believe the Lord heard and answered our prayers.

Hello "liefie"Louise I am here,just had a couple of problems with CRED(crazy rediculous electronic device,my computer for a few days, got it back this morning but it's ok now.Fantastic that Andre and jso are back on their feet again.I am watching "The flying Dutchman" dvd it is amazing what an eye for detail Andre has,nothing on that stage is out of place,and every thing is stream lined.Carmen and Carla really have superb voices,what talented sopranos they are,really miss them in some of the latest dvd's(hartjie,liefie,poppie,skat bokkie)that really is kitchen afrikaans do you know what the latest Andre dvd is the last one I have is "the waltz goes on," tried look and listen, they said universal has not released any others yet.Worked at the caltex refinery many years and lived in green point Ct is a great place but in the evenings smells to fishy. Have you watched any of Trevor Noah's dvd's?if you have not hire them these dvd's fit in very nicely with CT.Nice chatting to you,baie drukkies en soentjies vir n'Kaapse noontjie.

Nice to hear from you again. I live in Claremont which is a bit away from the sea so I don't have the fishy smell - but I live opposite a coffee shop which seems to bake Malva Pudding during the night as I have the sweet smell wafting through my house as I'm trying to sleep (inbetween the cat and the dog!) The smell from the coffee shop, more cafe restaurant type can get a bit much sometimes and makes me feel nauseous.
I do not have "The Flying Dutchman" but do have a lot of Andre's other DVD's which are absolutely great. Was watching "I lost my heart in heidelberg" which is absolutely lovely especially when Mirusia takes Andre's credit card to buy her dress (but I don't see her giving it back to him whenn she comes out of the shop - HA HA HA!!!

Darrell is progressing slowly. Had a bit of a set back yesterday when we struggled to the Doctors Surgery. Should have asked for a home visit but Darrell tries to be independent if he possibly can. It shattered him though and gave him a lot of unnecessary pain

I've just been watching a Swedish film "As It Is In Heaven". Has anyone else seen it? The actor reminded John and me of Andre. He was playing the part of a violinist/conductor, so I don't know if it was just association of ideas.It was quite an intriguing film, but I would have liked a happier ending.
Louise I did know about The Hout Bay project also Marjorie & Andre' have for years been sponsering the growing of trees in an area where nothing can grow because everything had been chopped down, also I believe he helps with the education of Akim Comara, that tiny tot who played in "The Flying Dutchman", Andre' has a very generous personality,who shares so very much, I consider myself fortunate to be alive during His lifetime & have been to 2 concerts, until 2008 I just had never heard of This so Beautiful Person & His way of sharing His Music, Like you I too am Catholic & I thank God on a very regular basis for Andre' & His music He has given me more than enjoyment, He has helped my peace of mind on many occasions, also when Narelle my daughter was in so much pain His Music gave her a lot of relief, so my Prayers for Him are rather strong once I get going, also my thanks; I wonder will any of The Maastricht concerts be live streamed to the cinemas this year, I do hope so Andre' & the JSO look good on the big screen, this has happened for the last 2 years & there are no concerts booked in for Australia as yet, Have a Rieully beautiful day all;

Yes OUR ANDRE is indeed a very caring man despite all the talent he has. He has helped many a young musician, the one that comes to my mind is 13 year old Melissa who played "Silento" solo on her trumpet on one or two of Andre's concert, then there was Rupert who was in Andre's Australian concert with Madame Edith (which was an absolute screamer - I mean the comments and jokes that came from Madame Edith were hilarious even Andre blushed) and the list can go on and on and on. I too thank God for bringing Andre into our lives as it is through him that we all find our inner peace. What does he say at all his concerts - music fills the heart and soul - and I couldn't agree with him more.
Take care our DEAR ANDRE and don't overdo it. I know we all want a share of you but in the end you are the only one that knows your body limits and how far to push them. ANDRE we all love you and would hate to see you fall ill again.

To dear sweet Deirdre , (aka Bill's Little Miss Nuisance - oh how I love that one) I hope you are alright. Haven't heard from you although I do read your postings on this site. Lucky girl you will be going to FOUR 4 of Andre's concerts in Maastricht alone and then his concert at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg. From what you or your son said about the dome, I wonder if the acoustics are going to be right for Andre? Sometimes even the shape of a building can alter the quality of the sound. When he played in the caves for Queen Beatrix they all had to treat their instruments very differently either wetting or drying the reeds on the wind instruments even more and so on. Andre even had to tune his violin especially for that concert.

I just read the wonderful article on Stephanie Detry . I love all the JSO players but I must admit, Stephanie is my absolute favorite. My next favorite is Marcel Felize . Of course, first and foremost, there's incomparable Andre! How I wish I could see them all in person once more. Alas, I'm afraid that may not happen since I don't think Andre & JSO will be playing in Cleveland any time soon, if ever. One can only hope. lovely girl,I adore her,love her,but not in love with her.Stephanie unknowingly played a big part in me recovering from a bad bout of depression 2 years ago.that is why I call her my heartbeat.There is a heck of a thing going on in the Netherlands at the moment about reducing musicians salaries,they have already closed down 4 state orchestras,I am sure Andre won't allow this to affect the JSO.Musicians in Holland were paid 30e an hour it is now reduced to 18.89e an hour,not very nice for musicians in general.Any way liefie nice chatting to you again,emmers en emmers liefde vir U my skat,slaap rustig vanaand.

The Community Nurse has just visited Darrell. The wound id healing well but she is concerned BP too high and leg still too swollen. Going to arrange physio to call.

Oh Deirdre you are going to be wired up, maybe your toe will enjoy more Andre' I have a young friend who dropped a glass bottle on her big toe, she has to wear a special boot that inflates when you put it on, but takes it off to shower & when she goes to bed I will find out the name of it for you as soon as I can contact her; LOUISE don't worry about the dames title He is very clever, I remember when He first started He was on The Mike Walsh show in clothes a very old Grandma would wear, I must admit His taste in clothes has improved also it must cost a bit for the shoes & clothes He wears now some of them are really beautiful, I have seen a doco where He takes you into His room where all His shoes & clothes are, Narelle is no longer in pain thank GOD She had a floating complex hiatis hernia which was caught around Her heart & diapham all gone alls good in that dept that was 12 months ago, Jeanine Ann has the kitties I only have one He is enough, He is a cream point siamese whose name is Jasper, Sir Jasper of Roberts the title suits thats why I gave him a knighthood, this is a funny household, Jasper also loves Andre's music, if I put any on which is now & again [ha ha] he comes at the run & when I go out I put on a dvd for him to watch & there he sits quite happily until I return;
Deirdre and Josephine, you are both in the wars today, to say nothing of poor Darrell. I wish I could send all of you a magic wand. Love to you xxx

Dear Josephine, I feel for you and Darell. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. Somehow the beginning of 2012 does not seem to be going too well with everyone falling ill including our BELOVED ANDRE.
To sweet Faye: I have also got a siamese feline who is the most moodiest cat I have yet met. One minute she is giving you side swipes when you walk past her and other time she is on my chest/tummy being the most affectionate cat ever. Hmmmm, if only I could read her mind.

Dear Louise, Hope you got on alright at the bank. I once had my card stolen from my purse, I used to escort children with special needs to school, while I took the children into school the taxi driver went in my handbag and took my card.It was not till later in the day the bank notified me that a lot of money had gone from my bank account!. It had been used by a woman to buy clothes and groceries and to fill up about 4 taxis with petrol. They had to use a woman as my name was on the card. The police did arrest the woman and she was taken to court, but the taxi driver didt't get anything!!. after that I never took any of my cards with me. Hugs and Luv Ruth
A Great Andre' good morning to all of you I am off down the road, today in Australia is Ash Wednesday, I need all the help I can get from above, I can hardly believe we are starting Lent It only seems like yesterday we had Christmas; I have notified Deirdre' of the name of the boot for broken toes instead of plaster but will put it here just in case one of you may also [God forbid] have the need, it is called a CAM boot, sometimes a MOON boot it can be set & pumps itself up to hold the toe correctly, you can remove it to shower & also sleep, she says its great; Ruth thats bad re your credit cards, here in Oz you can have a PIN NUMBER for greater safety attached to all your cards, my garage mechanic set me on that path, He said its easy to copy a signature but if you use the wrong number twice the right bells ring & bingo you are caught;

Last night I was looking up Ovation Channel's website to see if their March programme was out yet. They were advertising a competition to win tickets to a Daniel O'Donnell concert. To win you had to insert the venue of your choice. "That's an easy competition to enter", I thought. As I've bought tickets to see him in Newcastle and Sydney already I typed in Canberra, just for fun and to support their competition. Never expected to win of course.

I just did a quick tally and I think I have to travel about 2,300 kilometres in all in the three days - the concerts are on three consecutive nights - 6th, 7th, 8th March. Now that's a challenge, but what a thing to happen, especially when Daniel is going to be there at the end of each trip. Oh my oh my.

I also had the "moon boot" for six AFTER SIX WEEKS OF PLASTER" for a broken ankle which they had to insert a plate and screws. It is actually quite funny when I think of it now but at the time it was rather embarrassing. I was doing 'care work' in England and had just started at a client with a prosthetic limb (leg below the knee) in a three storey house. The house had narrow wooden stairs and it was actually three small houses joined together so the floors were not very even either. She has lived in that house for quite some time managing the stairs for a number of years, but I get there with my two legs in perfect order and manage to fall down the stairs within 24 hours!!!! She had to call her neighbour who in turn called the ambulance to take me to a hospital. This was all happening at 11pm at night. They X Rayed and temporary plastered me up after ripping my best pair of trousers open with scissors and sent me back home. I had no idea what I was going to do as I wouldn't be able to care for the client I had been sent to, so the neighbours very kindly offered to look after me at their house which was a bit more modern. But oh dear the bedrooms were upstairs. The only way for me to get up there was to sit on my behind and move one step up at a time as I was useless with the crutches. I think I would have broken my hip if I had tried. Anyway they were very kind and luckily I had taken out medical insurance. I went to see the orthopaedic surgeon over there who put on another cast for me to fly back to SA. (They put on a cast and cut it down the front for expansion, I suppose when you in midair your feet tend to swell). Once back home I had the operation and everything, touch wood, seems alright. But oh what an embarrassing experience. Staying with people you have never met or even spoken to before and they have to bring you all your meals, etc. Bathing or washing was probably the worst - but I managed. I think I may have mentioned it before but I am also Catholic, so it is Ash Wednesday followed by 40 days of Lent and then wonderful Easter Sunday. But it just seems so early this year or is it my imagination. Anyway God Bless You during this special time.
Darling Deirdre, just one tip with the "moon boot" - you must have the sole/heel of your other shoe raised to the height of the moonboot, otherwise you walk with a limp and when you come out of the moonboot your back will start playing up because of all the uneven walking!!! So it's out of the frying pan into the fire. I wish you the best of luck. I wonder if they are going to remove the pin after 6 weeks which I have seen done on medical programmes we have on our dish back here. Oh I won't go into more details -don't need you to collapse from hysteria before Andre's concert.

Hi sweetie Deirdre and all. Thanks for the heads up Deirdre on the February concerts. I read too that all the February concerts have been moved to September including Stuttgart to Frankfurt. There is nothing official on Andre's site but as soon as there is we will Post the information.
This is so sad - I have been really worried about him. I don't know what to think as he has always been so healthy. All we can do is pray for him. - he must be poorly as he would always 'the show must go on'.

I am hoping that the postponement of concerts to September is because of something making better sense for there are a few concerts needing to to be resheduled, & for convenience its best to put them close together in Europe, I hope this is the reason & not because Andre' is still not well, this is a real worry, it also could be because members of The JSO may also have a dose of Flue I guess we will have to wait for more news & hope all are getting better, I know Mirusia was ill & also Manoe, before Andre' got the bug, oh dear oh deary me; Jeanine Ann I miss read the times for morning Mass & went to the night one, in the morning the church was overflowing likewise last night & the singing was so great I think everyone who was there all joined in, it sounded so great to hear & realise people are coming back & caring, as people have not always been coming, we had a change of priests 3 years ago & its taken a while but I have noticed on Sundays the last year that more people are coming back to our Parish who went elsewhere, mainly because our other priest left to get married, That really put the cat among the pigeons;
Hi Fay, I would like to think the same thing except for the fact that the other concerts were moved to May. I hope and pray that Andre is better and just taking an extra week or so to rest. I am really worried also Fay but I keep praying every day that he will get well soon. What a shame about your former priest but I know it happens. We went to the 4:30 service which is a very convenient time for those who do not want to drive at night. Of course all the school kids come over and that pretty well fills the church. It never ceases to amaze me Fay that every Ash Wednesday, every Christmas and Easter the church is overflowing and we must add overflow Masses on Sunday morning and we are always saying where are they the remainder of the year? Darling Deirdre, I know I'm repeating myself as I included this tip in a huge message which you may have overlooked. With the "moon boot" - you must have the sole/heel of your other shoe raised to the same height of the moonboot, otherwise you walk with a limp and when you come out of the moonboot your back will start playing up because of all the uneven walking!!! So it's out of the frying pan into the fire. I wish you the best of luck. I wonder if they are going to remove the pin after 6 weeks which I have seen done on medical programmes we have on our dish back here. Oh I won't go into more details -don't need you to collapse from hysteria before Andre's concert.

To all my other friends on this site who are not feeling 100% today I wish you all well including our Dear Andre. Maybe he is adhering to the instructions of his doctor and learning to slow down a bit as well as learning how to space out his programme of concerts - just a thought!

I just read in The Limburger Algemeen Dagblad : According to Kerstin Cornelis Andre will start his tour again on 6 March. He is still not 100%, but he is not in bed the whole time. He also said that it is not the same problem he had in 2010. He is up and about and they do practice but he must take it slowly.
We must just pray en hope for the best!

I LOVED BOND!! & ANDRE certainly appeared to also. By Proxy - dittoes for Pierre, Frank, Franco, Roland, Cord, Marcel, Boris, Vincenzo, Jean, Glenn, Roger, Rene, Noel, Ruud, and the rest of the JSO guys. Woof, Woof ladies! Some of the guys may be too old to Howl but not all. Seems like a couple of years back I asked Andre to bring BOND back for an encore. Only time I can recall Andre getting on his knees for a music group
Remember when Bond left the stage, all the guys in the orchestra, got up out their chairs & left the orchestra, all in hot pursuit of BOND?
Well at least Andre didn't go after them!! Their act was beneath Andre's standards but I guess he was in an area where they are more liberal than others. Andre's show is much too high class for Bond. Just my opinion guys but I guess you do not expect us to like them. But I am glad you enjoyed the video. Hugs to all

Let's pretend a little ladies. I wonder if Andre would be back on stage a little sooner if the BOND girls requested a practice session with Andre. Of course these BOND girls would be JEANINE, DEIRDRE, MARIANNE, RONEL, NORMA and EVE. But I guess you ladies wouldn't want to SURPRISE (fool) Andre.
Didn't someone once say: All's fair in LOVE and war.
One reason Andre didn't leave the stage with the rest of the guys after BOND's performance was because he had to conduct the next piece of music performed solely by the JSO ladies & choir (2003/4 Special - New Year's Eve Punch).
Aaaaah Gary, the JSO ladies would have coped by themselves. Poor André had to stay behind for the sake of the audience, bet he would have loved to join the men. Oooooohhhh I would love to be one of the Bond girls, just imagine a day with André. Awesome! The men returned with their umbrellas and did 'Singing In The Rain'. I just love that piece. Thank you Jeanine Ann for the words of encouragement I am feeling a little brighter after reading the news from Kerstin that it is not the same ailment as before and he just needs more rest. I am praying in my way and DO believe in miracles. We had a program on TV this week of a lady who had terminal lung cancer and she was given a "remnant" from Mary McIllop's clothing. She recovered completely without any treatment whatsoever and it was recognised in Rome as a Miracle.
Miracles can happen.

Josephine you & I are mentally tuned the Hair & ears get me & that Lovey face & all the many expressions, those legs too, & all that He shares with us we are lucky to be alive in His time eh????; I would like to share a little it is now Lent & leading up to Easter, the ladies who prepare our Church each week are very clever, we have a purple cloth on the floor in front of the Altar on this are scattered cream stones & clear ones the clear are for water the others are the road we are travelling also a pair of old shoes, it is so moving to look at when you understand what it means, we are all on a road to somewhere, & you can put your own imagination to it, I personally find it emotional as I have not always been a Catholic, that happened for me in 1986 I started a journey of many joys which I am still travelling so many learning curves along the road, lots of give way signs no stop signs though, & along this road I also Found Andre'for a lot of the music He plays so beautifully are church Hymns, The AVE MARIA He plays on His violin in "THE CHRISTMAS I LOVE" is so beautiful, also PANIS ANGELICUS which means Bread of Angels, they both give me goose bumps; to all Have a Rieully Great Day;
Andre's shirts are always so white, Marjorie must use a lot of 'Nappy Wash I notice this always;

About Carmen and Carla but by being with Andre they became house hold names,as far as I know all of these people's careers have taken off because Andre allowed himself and the JSO to be a launching pad for them.Andre did not make millions from them they merely enhanced his concerts,before there were soloists there was ANDRE and when the soloists are all gone,there WILL STILL BE ANDRE,it takes one hell of a man to start out as a violinist, and to have built the musical empire that he has,and

Hello Jeanine Ann,I expect this post to be moderated,but this topic is bugging me and I need to get it off my chest,what happens when a member of the orchestra needs to go to the loo while the concert is in full swing,surely they can't just get up and go,sure they have an interval,but how many of us folk have had the experience,where we have just been to the loo and 5-10 minutes later we need to go again,it must be very difficult to play an instrument and to hold it in, for an hour or so, or perhaps they wear adult nappies,please don't laugh at this,this is life this is real,these things happen to us, especially to us older folk and there are a few older members in the orchestra.

Hello Norma,thanks for answering my post,yes we have super musicians with super bladders.I concur with you under Andre's guidance, our Kimmi has really come into her own,and what is great is that she is SOUTH AFRICAN and is representing South Africa on the world stage,for too long this great country of ours was in darkness now we have a beacon of light out there,as a South African, I am very proud of her, and that she is one of our country folk,Well done Kimmi.I have noticed that 25% of the women on this blog take medication to control their love for Andre,this is very scary!!!! it means that 75% of you women are running around without medication,I don't take medication,that's why I am insane about Stephanie.Buckets and buckets of love and hugs for you.

Now I am not sure who will agree with me on this one....! I am sure there are many of us that Andre has helped us through difficult times, I know he has for myself and my wife, there is always a rainbow that appears when Andre and the JSO appear on TV, or you go to a concert, your spirits are lifted, even if it is for a few hours, now Andre is poorly, he must also be worrying about ougoings, even doing nothing costs thousands, so maybe if everyone of Andre's fans bought just one item from his webshop, that would be income for him and the JSO in general...... maybe not a lot, but every little helps!

I have been waiting for DVD's for Maastricht V Special 2011 and the Christmas 2011 Special. Don't want to put any more stress on Andre. FYI: I saw a AR Productions financial summary for 2011. Gross receipts about $58 million and total operating costs about $20 million. So, I don't think this tour interruption is setting Andre back
in a big way but the 2004 DVD- New Year's Eve Punch- is excellent. Russell Watson sings a couple of songs and of
course BOND is featured.
Dear Gary, I do agree that AR Productions are running strong. André is an excellent businessman and well loved all over the world. I agree with Steve that a little support from his fans will just show him that we love him and miss him. The new Christmas DVD, 'Home For Christmas', will be released in the USA soon. This announcement was made by André when he was interviewed last year. He did put a lot of hard work into it and is perhaps one of the reasons why he suffers from 'burnout'. He did the Christmas DVD and 'Wiener Festwalzer'. It was quite a busy year, but then again which year is not busy. We hope to see André back soon. Love and hugs, Norma xxx

Sorry I haven't written for some time, but Keith and I are in lots of pain for
various things, plus his brother had a second knee operation in the hospital in Wales where he lives and caught MRSA
infection. The hospital seems to be rife with it. They sent him home and
nurses come to his house as he is so much in pain, plus now his eldest sister has a pulmonary infection and was taken to the same hospital! They said they couldn't take her in and she was sent to stay with her daughter. Many of you on the blog or your relations are ill. I have had a suspense filled Sunday and today as my daughter went into labour with her first child and is still in labour after close to 48 hours at time of writing this blog. She is far away from me up in Glascow, Scotland and I am down here in South Africa. Oh how I wish I could be with her as she is a very shy and modest person who cannot tolerate a lot of pain. My thoughts are with her as I have done nothing all day but think of her.

Oh dear that voting I do every day, on Sunday Andre' had over 400 votes yesterday 14 On a number of occasions I have noted that Andre' has been up in the high hundreds but the next day almost back to square 1, I can not understand their system especially as the drop happens often in the middle of the month, I have sent them off an email but no answer has been forth coming, can anyone explain????? oh dear Louise thats a long time to be in labour poor girl, I hope by this time your Daughter has had Her Babe & that all is well;Dear Sylvia do look after yourself & Keith I feel for His brother with MRSA a lot of hospitals seem to have it, after watching how the cleaners do their jobs I can understand how bugs decide hospitals are a great place to breed . Louise I have done something as all down my right rear & leg are giving me curry, I don't think I have broken anything its like a bad nagging toothache but its my rear & right leg. Thank you Jeanine Ann & Josephine for putting on The Rose Andre' certainly has a way with His violin I can listen any time to that, also the whole DVD that it comes from is beautiful & different thank God for Andre' & His Music.

Thank you for your kind words. Well after two days of labour they finally performed a C Section on my daughter. And it;s no wonder, she gave birth to a WHOPPING GREAT 4.43Kg baby girl, Chiara Seren (Welsh for star) which I think is so unusual but a beautiful name. Her hubby is English and she is SA but lives in Scotland. I wish them all the luck in the world.

Just a quick one, my daughter had a C Section yesterday at 15:00 GMT and delivered at WHOPPING GREAT 4.43Kg baby girl. They have named her CHIARA SEREN (welsh for star) My daughter is obviously south african but her hubby is from England. Both mother and babe are well. Next to God I sincerely thank of all on this site for your thoughts and prayers, Norma and Philip and everyone else.

Everyone seems to need C-sections now - my daughter in law had a baby boy in December weighing 10 lbs and my grandaughter had a boy 2 weeks ago - he was 6lb 2oz but was distressed as the cord was around his neck and he was struggling. They are both small girls so struggled.

Hello Mary,also nice to hear from you again,hope you are well,Mary what I have found if the pain is very severe 1 sachet of grandpa powder to 2-4 table spoons of aqueous cream,but the norm is 4 grandpa powders to a 500ml container of fragrance and color free aqueous cream,and mix the whole lot up together,but before you apply the mixture make sure that the back or where ever you are going to apply the cream,is warmed up with a wet hot face cloth, dry the skin then apply the mixture A ou boere tanie gave me this recipe many years ago and I have not found any other meds to beat it, and lady I suffer from chronic back pain,Much love and hugs to you Philip(aka DR.Phil)

Going on from buying from Andre to help a bit.... I seem to have gone overboard recently on "And the Waltz Goes On"....bought the CD on it's release from Andre's site, then bought the UK version, that came with a short DVD, followed that up by buying the full DVD from www.andre..etc, now just obtained the BLU-RAY version too !
But would love him to release Maastricht 2011, but I have a feeling that we will be disappointed.

Surgery went well, I am in good health and that made everything easier. I listened to THREE André albums before my surgery over my headphones? I wanted to play the beautiful music load but was not permitted to do so. I bet it would have made all the patience feel a lot better. I begged the surgeon to go home and promised that hubby Johann would take good care of me. I am booked off from work for 4 weeks but would probably presume work on Monday! I have Economics students to teach and nobody can take my place. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, you are an awesome group of friends!! Love you all xxxx

Ha-ha I had full anesthetic and were knocked out cold for nearly an hour! I went off to sleep with an André smile on my face!! i think that was the longest I went not talking like for ages! I just love talking, it is my forte! I will try my best to follow doctor's orders as long as I can, but with my profession it is going to be a bit difficult, impossible!? Hello Josephine, am I right in saying that you are in the UK?it's nice to hear from you,how is Darrell doing,is he feeling a bit better?Josephine grandpa powders are a combination of paracetamol and asprin and is taken orally and is a very powerful headache powder which can be addictive,and if used over long periods of time,can eat the lining of the stomach causing ulcers,but used in the mixture I have described on the blog is a brilliant pain reliever,I have used the mixture for 5 years with total success for chronic back pain and also muscle pain, but it is not a miracle cure.lots of love for you. Great news Louise so pleased with your news what a beautiful name they have picked for their little? girl, Is this your first grandchild, they are so exciting, will you be able to get up to visit them, I read somewhere that when Pierre & His wife had their twins Andre' cried all day, I remember when My daughter had her first child born on my birthday I repotted all my pot plants to fill in my day as I had a trip in front of me to visit & see this so clever little babe, an 8 hour trip to Sydney as at that time we lived in Pt. Macquarie, she is 26 this year & one should not have favotites BUT??????;
A happy day today for, Jeanine Ann's birthday , Deidre's toe on the mend , Louise's grandbaby making her happy and Philip has a potion that may help many in pain . Darrell is on the improve as well all we need now is positive news from Andre. Heres hoping.

Hello to all my wonderful caring friends on this site, the most beautiful site I have ever been on!
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR WELL WISHES FOR MY DAUGHTER AND I. Yes my poor daughter did have a bit of a tough time but she is so impressed with her little bundle that all the labour she endured has been forgotten. She is so smitten with her daughter, Chiara Seren, she is absolutely gushing with pride and can not wait to get home so that she can continue to bond with Chiara and get out of that hospital which sounded so noisy when I phoned her. Her hubby is over the moon even though it was a girl. He wanted a boy and I took a bet with him that if it was a boy he would have to change all the dirty diapers/nappies. It was all in joke mode. I maintained all along that my daughter would have a little girl so I won quite a few bets.
I have posted the first picture of Chiara to Jeanine Ann for purposes of placing same on this site and for you all to see my little granddaughter.
Once again my dear friends, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers, thoughts, etc.

Louise all grandchildren are special, I have 5 & 3 great grandchildren they keep me on my toes when they visit, Jasper is not too fond of them as we only see them about twice a year & their cats are used to being squeezed as little one will, because Jasper will bight hard if he 's not happy; DEIRDRE' I just love your dream lucky you, you take care of yourself & that toe you must bee 110% fit for Maastricht, No definite news about Andre' which I suppose is good news anyhow, hopefully He is improving & taking care, flu can leave you feeling awfull & sometimes the Antibiotics make you feel even worse,making the cure worse than the disease; I don't think we will see Him in Australia this year, maybe next year, we can only live with some hopes, & His health is more important eh????;
