André Rieu is more than a musician, André the man loves
people and wants to reach into their hearts. The gifted Limburger was born in
Maastricht on October 1st 1949 at 20h45. Astrologer Johanna Blok discusses his
horoscope.

At the
first glimpse of André Rieu’s horoscope, one thing is evident – his love for
people. For him it’s about connecting, the interaction and communication with
others. This is the motivation behind everything he does.
Both the
Sun and the Moon in his Ascendant on the horizon at the time of his birth, are
Air signs. Air is a very rational element. People with a strong Air
predisposition like André are often extremely intelligent. Consequently, he can
appear to be rational and maybe even cool. However, the element of Air is also
very charming and therefore, he enjoys making conversation with anyone and
everyone..
In the
Tenth house (referring to career, character), the Moon aspects (verb meaning
“looks at”) the sign Aquarius. Aquarius reigns over the masses (multitudes), it
signifies popularity, it implies someone who shapes for himself an innovative
approach to his career. Because of the Moon his decisions are largely
influenced by his emotions. He has become someone who through this combination,
knows how to touch the emotions of large audiences. Furthermore, in André’s
case the all important Moon relates positively to the Sun, Mercury and Neptune.
Mercury represents communication, but is also associated with dexterity and is
therefore often am important attribute for musicians and writers. Neptune is
the planet of romance, and can be associated with sensitive artists who draw
their inspiration from a higher power. Neptune also relates to public response,
the feelings and shared emotions that unite people – for example a soccer
stadium packed with people singing the Wilhelmus (the Dutch National Anthem).
The sun represents the person of André Rieu: personal pride and acclaim. These
three planets are also represented in the artistic and aesthetic sign of Libra.
It suggests that beauty is of high importance in a person’s life.
This
allows the musician to use his artistic sensibility and skill to touch the
emotions of his audience. It touches him too and while he is performing, he
becomes one with his audience.
HIS WAY
But
because Uranus, the planet that takes delight in the elements of wonder and
surprise, is arranged in a quadrangle with these three planets, André in his
unique and original approach also goes about his profession with scant regard
for “how things should be done”. He has the courage to do it his way. Uranus
is also the planet of Rock-n-Roll, and this influence may well have been
instrumental in him becoming a “rock artist” of classical music.

In financial matters, surprising twists and turns can be expected. It is not a
planet of adversity, but one where the craziest eventualities can occur. Hence,
financial stability is not a given.

The Moon,
Uranus, the Sun, Neptune and Mercury are further connected to one another in a
Mystical Triangle, an unusual form of symmetry which indicates that the ones who
are born under it, are exceptionally talented.
Even more
significant is that half of André’s Mystical Triangles are positioned in stellar
heavens. Venus (love, relationships, art), Mars (eroticism, aggression,
physical strength), Pluto (obsessive and transformative power) and Lillith (an
almost supernatural gift) are connected. Under André’s cool exterior, a very
passionate man is revealed who physically feels his music. He did not need to
be taught about the rhythm of music, it is part of his body. It also makes for
a highly motivated and passionate man. He dares to be resourceful and to fight
for his ideas, and he can get very annoyed when things do not go according to
plan.
VULNERABLE
André was
not always a fighter in every respect. Privately he is particularly
vulnerable. Because of Venus in Scorpio, he cannot live without love, and will
go to extremes to ensure that people he cares for are happy. He is loyal to a
fault, and expects the same from his partner (those close to him). He
does not readily expose himself to others and would be very careful as to who he
allows into his private life.
As he grew
older, he has had to learn to set boundaries for himself and to be more
selective. It was important for him to also consider saying “no”, not to always
be nice and not always wanting to be liked. This would certainly not have been
easy for him, but it brings him where he needs to be.
Inspiration of the masses
His music
has a healing effect. His fans will undoubtedly find that sometimes they feel
pain and sorrow disappear because they are so affected by his music. While it
seems to the outside world that he achieved his goal at the outset, at times it
appeared to André to have required a huge effort to find that “magic formula” to
achieve everything he had set out to do.
A
BORN ENTERTAINER
The Fifth house is also important for
André. This is the house of creativity, of free expression, children, being in
love and playfulness (humour, mischievousness). In addition to the
aforementioned trio of the Sun, Mercury and Neptune, the authoritarian planet
Saturn is of high importance, as it “orders” a person to come to terms with this
aspect of his life. This characteristic makes André someone for whom creativity
is vital. He is a born entertainer. He takes creativity seriously, sometimes
even too seriously. He has so much regard, so much respect for it, that he
would not take the risk of composing his own symphony as it would be a challenge
to overcome his fears and insecurities by bringing in the
“looseness”.
Someone with this characteristic will make a
good father figure for his children. André takes his responsibility for their
lives very seriously. He wants to give his children the necessary structure to
fall back on as adults. It is also important to relax occasionally in this
quest. Simply enjoy life and your children, and let go. Being imperfect is not
the end of the world.
Strangely enough, before his fortieth
birthday, André experienced severe feelings of self doubt. With Pluto in the
Fourth house in Leo, he could, despite his success and talent, have had the idea
that he would not bring it far. This is without foundation, but it has its
roots in emotional instability – possibly a youth where there was not much room
for emotions. He has really had to learn to believe in himself, in his primal
strength.
AWAY WITH INNER
INSECURITY
A crisis during 1990-1991 helped him with
this. His experiences at the time brought him in contact with his primal
strength, his survival instincts. This moved him to sort out his inner
insecurities. Afterward, the major breakthrough came about. He was able to
challenge the fear he had, to launch his unique vision – there was no hundred
percent guarantee that this would happen. Maybe he was afraid that he would be
criticized by his family or those close to him. He desired to have his own
vision realised and he was working towards developing it, but he first had to
muster the courage to go for it.

I am sure he has seen it Jill. It is really amazing just how accurate it is. Oh you talked about the eye surgery. Now this is only my recommendation Jill but I would not put it off too long if the doctor says it is time. They will never get better and in fact will get worse. For better vision it will be worth giving up the close vision because you can use readers. It is difficult carrying around another pair of glasses but I am getting used to it. Now I can either wear glasses or not. The doctor gave me a light prescription because I had just bought new frames and my eyes are just a tiny bit different so these even them up but I don't really need them and will just use them to drive. The translation of Andre's horoscope revealed once again the measure (and pure humanity) of the man. He is truly a phenomenon. Nobody is irreplaceable, but there is always the exception to the rule - Andre Rieu is irreplaceable.

I believe in beauty and in anything that makes us see beauty, actually helps discover beauty.
If it is a horoscope that describes ANDRE RIEU so perfectly, why not believe in it?!
You can always change the title, say it's an essay. But it's about ANDRE and it is so true!
So I believe in it as I believe in music as I believe in love.
And to end my input in the proper way, let me say that I can thank "my lucky star" that one day, last March I "accidentally" discovered ANDRE and his music, this blog and my wonderful friends.
Only I know it was not by accident. IT WAS MEANT TO BE.

This is not whether you believe in astrology or not, this is so very close to who and what André really is. At home he had a tuff childhood. All he heard each and every day was: "André,go practice your scales!". He often tells us that he was the black sheep of the family and had a lot of insecurities to deal with. André had to work hard at it and made a success of his dreams. He became the modern day King Of The Waltz. At times André shows his vulnerability on stage and has a passion for his music and his fans. Before a concert he is always nervous, wondering whether he will be good enough for his fans. Pierre is always there to encourage him. Because of his own 'miserable' childhood he decided to give his own children a different upbringing, he gave them some slack and a lot of love. Mark became an artist and André is tremendously proud of him. The bond between André and Pierre is visible to all. His sons adore him and André shines. His music is uplifting and André himself is MAGICAL. The horoscope is so unbelievably close to the man: André Rieu! Thank you Marianne, I can just imagine how much you enjoyed working on this article. Anything André is always fascinating.

I was the black sheep of my family and never forgiven for not being a boy.I have 12yrs of tertiary education,have been employed at Director level and that was not enough.the only thing which came close was when I produced my beautiful Ben, now in heaven.the man is no angel but a dedicated family man for which he should and does be valued.his music has been a great gift to me.have a great February everyone. xxx

He is vulnerable, yes, as all great artists, more, all great men are vulnerable.
I dare say He is even shy, you can easily see it, just take the video showing him in Maastricht showing up in the street and lot of people greeting him, taking photos. Sweet smile on his beautiful face, yet you can see he is shy, though he knows he is so much loved he still seems to be surprised by his popularity.
Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I also see in his eyes, the way he looks around that he feels the huge responsibility he has, he knows he has to be perfect, stay on top forever, never let down those who worship him for the artist, the perfectionist he is, never allowing himself to be just Andre Rieu the man, the person.
YES, he is magical, fascinating, beautiful!

Kerry, I'm curious why you ask the question "so do you all really believe in astrology?" Is it just for the opinions?
Horoscopes can clear the way for a wonderful, satisfying life, because it kind of gets the "trash" out of people's lives, which then helps them grow and become the person they were meant to be, to overcome their shortcomings, to grow and know in their hearts that they are happy and not blame society and someone else for their troubles.
This person who did Andre's Horoscope did a really fine job. I don't know Andre personally of course, but deep in my heart and soul I believe this horoscope is accurate because I believe that Andre has a sensitive nature, he puts his heart and soul into his music, his family and friends.
We "feel" things and get impressions about people and more often than not these impressions are true. Had this horoscope made Andre out to be some kind of "ruthless" and "dominant" person, I would say that it would be a false horoscope. No one can make music as beautiful as Andre and be ruthless and dominant, without everyone seeing this. I've read that music is the bridge between Heaven and Earth and I believe there's a lot of truth to that. Andre is a man who connects music with the spiritual side of mankind. I believe that everyone can feel it. So, I believe it would have been extremely bogus had the horoscope said that Andre was a ruthless and dominant person, because I know in my heart that he is not, simply by his music that I listen to everyday.
