Andre Rieu - More Concerts POSTPONED

It has been brought to our attention that the concerts from Bremen to Stuttgart have been postponedNo further information is available at this moment but evidently Andre still has the flu and needs more recuperation.  Let's keep our prayers going for his complete recovery.

As of now the 23 Feb 2012 concert in Stuttgart, DE is still ON.

More information as we get it.

Thanks much,

I'm really disappointed for all the people that were looking forward to the concerts, that have temporarily been postponed.

Hopefully, André & the JSO musicians will be back in "the pink" by 23 Feb 2012.

I'm sure we all realize the postponements are agonizing for AR Productions.

    Best Personal regards,

Many of us have been concerned that Andre has been pushing himself too hard.
He really needs a backup conductor- Frank Steijns perhaps. Having the flu may have weakened Andre's immune system to where he pneumonia/bronchitis or such. The extreme cold in Europe certainly makes illness a bigger problem
for everyone. Andre's health problem in
2010 was a wakeup call to have a plan B
and relax his busy schedule. I prefer a
healthy Maestro to the present situation.

Hi Gary, I agree they need a 'plan B' but speaking from a ladies point of view do you think the ladies would go to a concert if Andre was not there?  I love the JSO but I love Andre more and I would not want to see a concert without him.  It just would not be the same.  I would constantly be thinking where is Andre?  I would be lost there without him.  I don't know what the other lady fans think but this is just my opinion.  When we spoke with Kerstin at the meet and greet she said it is a worry because they have no plan B so to speak - Andre is it!  Hugs

I myself would not go to an André Rieu concert if André is not here! I go to see André and while I am there, I thoroughly enjoy the JSO and soloists as well. But a concert without André would just not be magical! Love, Norma xx

Hello Jeanine Ann and Norma,I concur with you, a concert without Andre will be a dead concert, Andre has charisma and draws the public to him,he has this fantastic sense of humour and the audience expect this from him,Frank is a brilliant musician.but he is not Andre,I believe that Andre is the draw card.I think we need a big group prayer for Andre, and not just for the concerts, but that he can feel well within himself, but Andre needs to take things a bit easy,he is getting older and the body is beginning to take its toll, its 3 years now that some or other illness has taken hold of him.Much love to both of you.

Dear Philip, I totally agree. The JSO will just not be the same without André. They play for him and he adds magic to the show. I also ask of each André Rieu fan to pray for his speedy recovery and that God may grant him the grace to spare him for us for many years to come.

GET WELL SOON ANDRÉ, WE LOVE YOU SO!

Of course we would miss Andre but it would be kind of neat to see Frank conduct a concert. Am pretty sure the replacement would explain why Andre was
absent. I love the music first and am a
          realist about human limitations. Leading
a concert is not for everyone. Some can
handle the added stress and speak well
          extemporaneously and some cannot. Andre
needs a backup because postponing too
many concerts can really create more problems later on.

        I agree with you Gary,

There needs to be a Plan B.

I'm going to use an analogy of the Boston Pops.  Arthur Fiedler was the conductor for 50 years, until the day he died.  Everyone thought, without Arthur Fiedler, the Boston Pops concerts wouldn't be as enjoyable.

When Arthur Fiedler was the conductor, all the musical albums & promo was something to the effect of:

Arthur Fiedler & the Boston Pops

After he died, the albums & promo went something like this:
Boston Pops with John Williams Conducting or
Boston Pops with Keith Lockhart Conducting

André is as charismatic & unique to the music world, perhaps even more so than Liberace.  André would be conspicuous by his absence.  André is LOVED by people all over the world.

However, the formula that André has come up with needs to be continued & perpetuated by the Johann Strauß Orchestra with or without André.

There isn't anyone in the world that would miss André in front of the Johann Strauß Orchestra more than me.

However, life goes on & as improbable as it may sound now, it's possible at some point in time someone even more charismatic, charming, & unique may show up to replace André.

I sincerely believe André would want others to continue to attend concerts with the Johann Strauß Orchestra & the formula he has come up with even in his absence.

I for one would DEFINITELY, buy a ticket & attend a concert IF the Johann Strauß Orchestra is playing & someone else is conducting.  And I hasten to add again, I'd surely miss André & his persona, however I'd also be willing to consider accepting someone else, as the conductor.

Plan B.....The music, the concerts, need to go on, with or without André.

However, at this time I believe there is en masse illness with the Johann Strauß Orchestra musicians as well, I don't think these postponements are strictly because André is down & out.

Keep in mind, there isn't anyone more disappointed at the concert postponements than André & the Johann Strauß Orchestra musicians.

Oh I can't even imagine JSO without him, "God forbid " he is a true legend and he is not just a one of the most successful musicians .. he is the most successful leader .. And his own style and flavor makes him one of the kinds … Andre is the man the one and only king of waltz and there are no prince around and NO ONE CAN REPLACE HIM!!!
Andre is NOT a conductor he is the soul JSO are wonderful and their work together is the real power …. B U T … It's not about new conductor… it’s about a new father ... I can't imagine someone in my Father place.. I see it this way!! And he sees it this way , otherwise he organized it in another way !

I hate talking about this … he will be fine soon …

Bill what you say is true, someone could take Andre's place but the fans who love him will not be there to see the 'replacement'.  They will not accept anyone else.  So someone did replace Arthur Fieldler but how many still went to the concerts?

I absolutely dispute your presumption and I hope Andre and Johann Strauss would agree. It would be patently unfair
to the Johann Strauss Orchestra, Mirusia, Kimmi, Carla, Carmen and the many wonderful singers and musicians that contribute to Andre's success. I will travel the broad avenue of great
lite classical music and other classes.
                Even Country-Western which Mirusia has
                expressed interest in. No tunnel-vision

So sorry to hear all this sad news. As I myself am facing some similar difficulties as Andre had in 2009, I can understand everyone's concern. I wish only the very best for our Andre and his JSO. Hand writing was on the wall early on with trying to satisfy every fan all over the globe. I mean no disrespect to our Maestro by my comments. Has anyone read about the clashes going on in Brazil at this point in time? So many issues and unscheduled health concerns now making for very tense times. Prayers go out to all those suffering in one phase or the other; and Andre if you are able to listen, I have been diagnosed with your 2009 affliction, I pray you are not having a relapse - this period of time in my life has become a sheer hell, but as is said, "when you burn the candle at both ends", 'you' unfortunately pay the piper. You may edit me, but I also have an opinion, whether it be welcomed or not.
    Sincerely, Judith

Hi sweet Judith,  I agree that Andre may be doing too much once again.  I hope this is not a relapse and only the flu which can be bad enough.  I am so sorry you have this illness Judith.  I pray that you will recover as Andre did.  I pray for you every day as I do many others.  Please take care of yourself and let us know how you are doing.  I have not read anything about Brazil but will check it out.  Thank you my friend for posting and please rest and be  careful.  Love you much.  Jeanine Ann

I am in the UK and am unaware of this concert- hence my confusion.
The concert we were to attend in Germany was scheduled for Valentines night so all my efforts to be 'romantic' may well have come to naught!!

It took me six weeks to recover from the flu recently, Andre I am sure needs rest now and to regain his strength in order to play for three hours each night. I don't care how long it takes him to get well, we need Andre healthy and to put himself first for once . We can always go to see him in concerts later, he is the most important factor.
