Andre Rieu Is Slowly Recovering From Illness

ANDRÉ RIEU IS SLOWLY RECOVERING Article in RTL Boulevard, 14 March 2012

Things are getting better with the sick André Rieu. "It's good, he is gradually going back to the studio and office," says his spokesman.

André Rieu krabbelt langzaam weer op

André Rieu will be back on the podium from April 20, when he begins to catch up with the missed performances.

The rumors that the 62-year-old musician is suffering from an immune disease, according to his spokesman is absolute nonsense. "I find such rumors strange when nobody even sees André. He is also occasionally back at rehearsal. But he still needs a good rest."

The violinist was, due to fatigue and flu, forced to cancel concerts in Germany, Denmark and France. He also had problems with his vestibular organ , in which he had an infection two years ago.

André starts on 20 April to catch up with performances in Germany and Denmark among others. This year the violinist will once again perform at the Vrijthof in Maastricht between 22 and 26 June.

    DEIRDRE & CHRISTINE,

THANKS for the link and the translation, this IS good news and soon we'll hear He is on stage, His old self again!

As for the rumors, there is always somebody in this world who cannot stand things going nicely. Or just a lack of common sense and good taste.
Fatigue is as dangerous as any other illness and yes, it weakens the body and can weaken your immune system if not taken care of. Luckily ANDRE has got good doctors and he is recovering now.
AND we'll see him soon, He will sparkle as ever, that is what counts!

    Love to all fans,

Dear Andre and your entire family and the JSO Family,

Having been "out of touch" with internet for about 6 weeks I am just now learning that Andre has not been feeling well, but, HOORAY you are slowly recovering. We have seen your concerts twice in the United States and have tickets to two concerts in Maastricht in June. If I may be permitted a little suggestion, I hope Andre you are spending time out in nature enjoying the peace and tranquility and healing that come from our beautiful natural world. My prayers will now be with you for a steady and full recovery to your natural god health.
You give such immense joy to us when you play.

Maybe someday I'll have the chance to see these wonderful people in person. I did buy the DVD of the New York City Radio City Music Hall Concert. I must have watched it dozens of times and I can never get tired of seeing it. Andre Rieu was born in the same year as myself.....He in October and myself in September.......not that it means anything, but just somethimg to share. The people in his orchestra are the most talented individuals that I have ever had the honor of hearing music like this played. The girl on the Sax was unbelievable and the singers filled me with the most wonderful feeling that I haven't felt in years.......it is really something when they can bring tears to your eyes. The Harlem Gospel Choir was outstanding.....Andre new what he was doing when he had them perform. If you have an inside line to Andre Rieu, please thank him for me for making me feel good again.

My heart felt thanks to Andre Rieu and his talented orchestra.

    Hello,
I am new to this blog.
I would like to hear very much the latest state of Andre's health. I live in Canada and would like to attend the Maastricht open air concert June 22 to 26, 2012. Is this going to happen, or has anything been canceled?
Do you know if any open air concert is planned in Italy for 1912-1913?
Have any of the 2012 concerts in Germany and France been cancelled?
I have a lot of questions, but many of the news that I get from the internet mention day and month, but not the year, even on Andre's site it is a bit confusing as it says that there are or might be cancellations in Germany, or is that past news from 2011?
Thank you very much for answering. Sieglinde

Hello Sieglinde, Thank you for writing.  Andre is in good health now as far as I know and the concerts in Maastricht are scheduled for June 22, 23, 24 and 26, 2012.  We do not have Andre's agenda for 2013 except for Koln so as far as I know nothing in 2012 has been cancelled.  If you are thinking of Maastricht I would advise you get a hotel as they are mostly booked.  There are concert tickets available.  Just go to Andre's official web site.  If you need any more information please do not hesitate to write.  Hugs, Moderator Jeanine Ann

I also suffer from Vestibular Neuritis, after a lot of research I found the main cause was Aspertane which is in nearly all soft drinks and sugarless items, since finding this out my problem has been reduced to nearly nothing, I also found that if I decreased the amount of salt and had very little chocolate it also helped but the Aspertane was the worse offender, my doctor did not tell me this I had to find it out on my own. It also meant I do not have to take any medication for it, which means I am not putting on weight, I didn't realise that the medication was the problem. I do hope this information will be passed on to Andre
